00:00Spread Vines on a Friday that you need to know. It's the early line. It's not on your right side.
00:04It's Joe Rainier.
00:05Let's get to those games starting in the association. Late night action, Joe. 10 p.m. Eastern tip time.
00:11The Los Angeles Clippers going to take on the Portland Trail Blazers overnight.
00:15This line was sitting around a minus one and a half point favorite here towards the Portland Trail Blazers.
00:19Most outlets now have moved to around minus two and minus one and a half are still creeping around there.
00:24But the total listed at 224 and a half. Clippers, Blazers, late night Joe on a Friday.
00:29What's the spread line we can look forward to?
00:32Well, I mean, this is a battle for the eighth seed, right, Donnie?
00:36That's what we got here. And that's what these two teams are jockeying for position right now.
00:41And likely, well, I mean, somebody's going to want the eighth seed because that means you only got to win
00:46one game.
00:47If you land in the ninth or tenth, you are you're playing to you have to win two games in
00:51order to advance here.
00:54And I mean, alternating wins and losses is what the Clippers have been doing.
00:58But Portland, I mean, they're at 40 and 40, which is kind of laughable here with these two teams when
01:04you think about it,
01:05because the perception of them are totally different than what the reality is of these teams.
01:10And listen, I think the Clippers now having to go on the road.
01:14Kawhi Leonard ready to go here.
01:16I think they I think they're going to handle business in Portland.
01:20I would also keep an eye on this total, Donnie.
01:23I think that's the interesting part here, because Portland, known for defense, the Clippers have been scoring way more points
01:30than what people are used to here over the last month or so.
01:33But I tend to think that as long as Garland and Mithorin and Kawhi are in there, I think the
01:38Clippers can handle it.
01:39But I think the under has got some value here.
01:42You like late night at 10 o'clock.
01:43Let's go a little bit later here on a Friday night, Joe, 1030 p.m. Eastern Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix
01:49Suns.
01:49Yesterday, you saw the Los Angeles Lakers play on the road.
01:52Your boy told you nobody wanted to take the Lakers yesterday.
01:54Why?
01:54Easy double digit victory over the Golden State Warriors.
01:57Tonight, they're back in action, Joe, but at home to take on the Phoenix Suns.
02:01This line overnight opened up as a minus one point favorite here for the road team, Phoenix Suns.
02:06Now you see the graphic.
02:07We're now listed at a minus one and a half point favorite here for the Suns over the Lakers, Joe,
02:10and a total that is listed at 219 and a half.
02:13Can the Lakers get it done on the back-to-backers?
02:15LeBron Jay's like, whoo, boy, I'm tired, and nobody's playing here tonight for the Lakers.
02:20Well, that's the big question, right?
02:22What are you going to get?
02:22What version of the Lakers is showing up after that win last night?
02:26And I think we need to also, you know, be realistic here.
02:28The Suns, this game means way more to the Suns than it does to the Lakers right now.
02:34But this is another one where if we don't have LeBron, we don't have a ton of offense, right?
02:39Which likely means we're looking at an under here because the Suns are all about the defense.
02:46Keep an eye on, I believe, early reports were that Booker is not playing in this game, but LeBron is
02:52probably not playing either.
02:54So these aren't going to be two teams at full strength.
02:56We'll have to keep an eye on the injury report, but my initial thought is definitely to the under in
03:01this game.
03:02Here's an interesting game coming up, and you might look at this line and say,
03:05this doesn't make any sense, but understand the context of this game here.
03:09OKC on the road to take on Denver.
03:11Hey, OKC's the best team in the NBA.
03:13Clinched the number one overall seed.
03:14They're rolling into the playoffs.
03:16The Denver Nuggets looking to stay ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets on their schedule as
03:22well.
03:22But you see the number.
03:24It's 11 and a point favorite.
03:25Yeah, it's OKC.
03:25No, it's not.
03:26Denver's at home favorite by 11 and a half on the updated numbers right now, Joe,
03:31over OKC in a total of 231 and a half.
03:34It's one of those where game means something to one team.
03:36Game doesn't really mean anything to another team.
03:39Yeah, that's it, right?
03:41Nuggets are looking to solidify that number three seed.
03:43Oklahoma City already wrapped up the one seed with that win over the Clippers on Wednesday night.
03:49So essentially this game and the next one for OKC.
03:53Yeah, it's you're going to see a lot of faces on the court there that are not starters for the
03:58Oklahoma City Thunder here.
04:00And listen, it's a tricky spot because Denver hasn't exactly been an ATS monster this year at home.
04:07But they have won 10 in a row for the first time in 13 years to actually lock in here
04:13the number three seed.
04:14I think they'll handle business here tonight.
04:16But am I running to the window to lay 11 and a half?
04:19I don't know that I am here.
04:22But we are likely getting more points, not less points in this game.
04:26Basketball news here.
04:27How do you get better?
04:28Well, everybody has to re-recruit their own players.
04:31How much NIL?
04:32You know what I love about this, too, Joe?
04:33The NIL era, right?
04:34Which, again, was the design to, hey, man, some of these kids are going to, you know, get a car
04:38from a local dealership.
04:39Some are going to get free pizza.
04:40Some may even be able to be on a Dr. Pepper commercial.
04:42And more rights to them.
04:43Go out and earn your own money.
04:44NIL turned into pay-to-play and then also turned into get your NIL, Joe, and also revenue sharing from
04:50the university itself.
04:51So you're getting paid two different ways.
04:52And now it's like, hey, $5 million for a really good big.
04:55We talk about Michigan, who is a team that used the transfer portal correctly in today's landscape and won a
05:01national championship.
05:01And maybe they have a footprint on, let's just get Monstars out here just to run over everybody.
05:07We're just bigger, faster, and stronger.
05:08How about this?
05:09Tennessee big man, J.P. Estrella, that's committed to Michigan.
05:12Sources tell ESPN delivering the Wolverines one of the most coveted big men in the portal.
05:17How about that action, Joe?
05:18The rich, I guess, get even richer.
05:21Yeah, yeah.
05:22Well, I mean, everybody's in the portal.
05:24So it's not like it's some sort of shock at this particular point.
05:28I mean, the problem is there aren't that many spots for top teams for this many players who are entered
05:35the portal, which means there are going to be a lot of guys on the outside looking in, not getting
05:40maybe that first team.
05:42So there's no allegiance to teams or universities anymore or teammates.
05:46The only thing that matters is who comes up with the most money, apparently.
05:51And there's only a handful of schools that can truly afford to pay the kinds of money that apparently these
05:57kids think they're going to get here in the portal.
05:59You know, Joe, what's starting to also we're hearing about the chirping where you always had big time boosters in
06:04these organizations, top 20 football teams, blue bloods here.
06:07They always have guys that will hand money over.
06:08But now all of a sudden, Joe, it's like, well, hold on.
06:11Like we used to donate maybe a million dollars a year or every couple of years, a million bucks, a
06:16couple hundred thousand here or there.
06:17You're coming back to me every single year.
06:19Like we have to replenish like 20 million dollars into this kid that you have to pay for that year
06:23and then do it again the next year.
06:25Joe, what happens in like four or five years?
06:26We go to that donors like I gave you six million bucks over four years.
06:30You haven't won a national championship.
06:31I don't have any more money to give at this point.
06:33When do we reach that point in basketball?
06:35The NIL is like the donors aren't donating anymore and we are out of money at this point.
06:40And then we start to seek other forms of payment here.
06:43Like, hey, we'll get you into like a, you know, an equity sharing of the university.
06:48Who knows where we're going?
06:49But right now it's pay to play.
06:50The rich are getting richer.
06:51Michigan won, getting another good player.
06:53You know, it's getting richer, Joe, in the WNBA.
06:55The players here.
06:57How about this?
06:57The Las Vegas Aces are finalizing an agreement for Jackie Young to return to Vegas.
07:021.19 million dollars on a one year deal.
07:06I see more money.
07:08It was worth it, right?
07:10The little hold out there, Donnie, looks like that's some pretty nice, pretty nice cash there.
07:15So, yeah, maybe, maybe things are looking up for the WNBA here.
07:20But we still got to see it out on the court, don't we, Donnie?
07:22The product's got to get better.
07:25By the way, let me ask you a question on this, Joe, too.
07:26You know, like the MLS, like I don't watch the MLS.
07:29I'm not a big soccer fan as is, but it's not as good like as the EPL or some other
07:32world soccer leagues that we have.
07:34But the one thing they did right was we need more superstars in our games.
07:37They would go, well, hold on.
07:39Our whole payroll is $5 million, let's just say, per team.
07:42And I'm just going back a couple of years.
07:43They go, well, what have you brought David Beckham over?
07:45Well, he's not going to pay for $100,000.
07:47Like pay him whatever he wants and put it in a clause.
07:50It's for like the good of the game, which is exactly how they got messy into Miami.
07:54Like what's Kay?
07:54Does Kay and Clark have that worked in?
07:56Like, yeah, everybody else is getting a million, but I'm getting $15 million here.
08:00Yeah.
08:00Well, I mean, it's that's the reality of the situation.
08:03But every sport has that person, right?
08:06There's that trendsetter.
08:07There's that person that's more than the 90s that's going to make more than everybody else, whether you like it
08:13or not.
08:13Some people have, you know, create their own shoes and still make more money than everyone else, while others are
08:20just happy to be, you know, in the league itself.
08:23You know what the funny part about this is too, Joe, like just put on like the WNBA on like
08:27a bigger scale.
08:28Like if you were making $78,000 a year, which a lot of these ladies were, and all of a
08:33sudden they're making 1.9, but Kaylin Clark's making 15.
08:35Like they would get mad at her making 15, even though they just quadrupled their salary because she's in the
08:40league or even more, 10 times their salary.
08:42Hey, that's not fair.
08:43Come on now.
08:44When the biggest superstars perform on the biggest stage, just like the NHL with Wayne Gretzky back in the day,
08:49everybody makes more money.
08:50Understand the assignment.
08:52That's what it is.
08:53How about this assignment?
08:54Mike Brown talking about Tatum post game yesterday after a big Knicks win.
08:59We're heading in the direction of being where we need to be.
09:03I like the climb that we've made the last week or so, the last three to four games.
09:09And, you know, we got a couple more games to get there.
09:11And, you know, for us, we'll take it one game at a time.
09:15But, you know, we got these two left.
09:19We'd like to win both of them.
09:20You know, what does that mean?
09:21I don't know.
09:22We'll see at the end of the day.
09:23But when we lace them up, we're playing to win.
09:27Relief now that this game is under your belt?
09:30I mean, yeah, absolutely.
09:32This is a – it was a big moment, a big hurdle for me.
09:37You know, I was nervous and anxious to come back here.
09:43You know, obviously, I wanted to win and play great.
09:46But more importantly, I just kind of wanted to walk off the court, you know, on my own two feet.
09:53Did you feel nerves once you stepped on the floor or once the game started?
09:57Yeah.
09:57I was.
09:59I especially like to start the game.
10:02By the way, my biggest takeaway right there, Tatum's got some nice hair, doesn't he, man?
10:05Nice hairline as well, looking good after a game.
10:07Let's be nice.
10:09I don't – let's go back to the, yeah, we want to win the last two games, but, you know,
10:15whatever that means.
10:16What do you mean, whatever that means?
10:18It means you want to win the last two games.
10:20What the hell are you talking about, Mike?
10:22Like, really?
10:23You're basically telling us, yeah, I wouldn't count on us winning these last two games.
10:28But we really – we want to win.
10:30But, you know, what does that mean?
10:31There, Donnie.
10:32What does that mean?
10:33Unreal.
10:33What does this mean, JoJo?
10:35You ready for this one?
10:36The last couple days, we've gotten some weird smoke signals out of Philadelphia.
10:39Like, hey, Joel Embiid's missing shoot-arounds.
10:40He's sick.
10:41Joel Embiid wants to play.
10:42April Fool's this and that.
10:43Yesterday, mid-afternoon.
10:44By the way, we ruled out Joel Embiid because he's sick again.
10:47And then, like, 20 minutes later, oh, he's not actually sick.
10:50He's going in for surgery for an appendicitis here.
10:53I checked my clock.
10:54Yeah, it's April.
10:54The playoffs are rolling around.
10:55And Joel Embiid is hurt and or has some ridiculous medical procedure.
11:01It's just bizarre.
11:03I mean, just – I don't know what else to say.
11:06It's just – I don't know what it is.
11:08I don't know.
11:08You burn some sage.
11:10Like, do something, man, because the black cloud over Embiid and the Sixers team is just – is crazy.
11:16It's absolutely – and this isn't like a one-off.
11:19We have gotten the craziest things from him come playoff time for his entire career, Donnie.
11:24It's just – it's head-scratching.
11:26It really is.
11:27It is.
11:27It's almost like you want to just put him in a bubble the entire season, bring him out for the
11:31playoffs.
11:31And then when he doesn't even play, he gets appendicitises right when March comes around in April into the playoffs
11:37here.
11:37It's madness, but it is, I guess, the official process now in Philadelphia.
11:41How about the process for the NBA?
11:43They're upset.
11:44Everybody's tanking, but we've got to get a closer look at this.
11:46Yahoo Sports says the Magic have been fined $25,000 by the NBA for violating injury reporting rules per the
11:53league.
11:53Orlando listed Anthony Black is out in the initial injury report.
11:56Prior to its matchup versus the Pistons on April 6th.
11:59Where, Joe?
12:00He actually played in the game.
12:01What are we trying to do?
12:02Cash parlay tickets down there?
12:04Stop it.
12:05Yeah, yeah.
12:05Oops.
12:06Like, anybody would have even known that Anthony Black was playing or not playing on that team.
12:10So, like, please.
12:12It's just – but again, it's – everything matters now because Adam Silver, he's very much in tune with what's
12:20being said about the NBA on social media.
12:23Yeah, Jack Black, Anthony Black, same personal to me here.
12:26Yahoo Sports also.
12:27How about this?
12:28Did I have inside information yesterday when I told everybody to take the Lakers, getting four points, and that line
12:32crashed because Steph Curry's like, yeah, I'm not playing in this game.
12:34LeBron did play.
12:35LeBron played well.
12:36And the Lakers won by double digits.
12:38But here we go again.
12:39Boy, isn't it going to be awesome when the Lakers and Warriors face off in the 2025-2026 season?
12:44Steph versus LeBron.
12:45Yeah, we don't get any of those matchups anymore.
12:47Why?
12:47Because guys sit out and or get hurt.
12:50Yeah, I mean, it's ridiculous.
12:53The last week of the regular season here has turned into an absolute joke in so many different – it
12:59was bad enough that you have half the league tanking.
13:02But now the other half of the league is like, yeah, there's no reason for us to play anybody here
13:06the rest of the way through.
13:07So, good luck, season ticket holders.
13:10Good luck.
13:11But, Joe, when is the last game in the NBA?
13:14Is it this weekend?
13:15Like, when is the last game?
13:15Like, when is the final end of the regular season?
13:18Well, Sunday, and then we go into the matchups next week with the playing games and into the playoffs.
13:23And how about – I'm telling you right now, if you watch the NBA all season, it's like, ah, it's
13:27been all right.
13:27The playoffs are going to be awesome.
13:30Multiple games every single night.
13:31Like, Joe, look at the starting lines on both teams.
13:35Everybody's playing.
13:36Hey, turn on their – everybody's playing hard in the fourth quarter.
13:39I'm telling you, it's a completely different world.
13:41The NBA playoffs are awesome when the regular season stinks.
13:44It's a shame it's got to be that way, but we're going to enjoy some NBA playoffs.
13:47No doubt about it.
13:49Big Friday on the early line right here.
13:52Sports Grid Network.
13:53It's myself, Donnie Wrightside, Joe Renier.
13:55We bring in Kevin Walsh to have some fun with us today.
13:58It's a lot of hot topics going around.
13:59The Masters here.
14:00The last weekend of the NBA, which I should say is the preseason is done in the NBA.
14:05We finally, Kevin, get to the regular season next week.
14:08Love it.
14:09Love it.
14:10Yeah, hopefully the playoffs are good.
14:13I don't know how healthy the playoffs are going to be.
14:17Maybe Adam Silver can put in another rule for playoff – I don't know.
14:22It's – what a mess.
14:24Look, maybe you got to extend it out.
14:26Like, you know, sometimes, Kevin, we have like a big competition.
14:29It's like, hey, you know, let's wait a half hour to the latest.
14:31Can we delay the playoffs until the superstars get ready?
14:33Which brings me to my first question for you, Kevin.
14:36Yes, sir.
14:36Let's date this back maybe a week.
14:38There's been a weird, like, underbelly in Philadelphia of Joel Embiid.
14:43Is the guy sick or is he messing around on Twitter?
14:46Like, I want to play tonight.
14:47They tell me I can't.
14:48I missed a shoot-around.
14:49I had the sniffles, but I was up late last night, so I should be able to play tonight.
14:53And then he's out against sickness.
14:54And then he was announced out for a sickness yesterday, which turned into appendicitis.
14:58So we don't even know if Joel's even coming back at this point now.
15:02Oh, Kevin.
15:03I mean, come on.
15:04The Sixers are supposed to make a run.
15:05If they got healthy, they could be a fun team.
15:07And they're never healthy out here.
15:09Yeah, but the thing is, the never healthy Sixers are so much more complicated now than, like,
15:17oh, Joel Embiid's too big.
15:19First of all, this is the second year since they acquired Paul George.
15:25And we got Paul George showing up looking like he forgot how to play basketball.
15:30He had to retire from podcasting for a little bit.
15:34Maxie was flirting with a breakout.
15:36This is last year.
15:37Only played 50 games.
15:39And then Embiid was just never around, maybe washed.
15:42So then we get to this season.
15:44They look like they could be, like, a deep little, you know, sleeper.
15:47But Embiid's super unhealthy is what it is.
15:50Embiid comes back.
15:51They're terrorizing teams.
15:52He looks just as good as ever.
15:54Oh, Paul George is suspended.
15:58Suspended.
15:58What?
15:59Yeah, no, PDs.
16:00Yeah, suspended.
16:01What?
16:02We don't even suspend people.
16:03Yep, he's suspended.
16:04Great.
16:04So Maxie's still breaking out.
16:06He's hurt now.
16:07Why?
16:07He's 25.
16:08Nope, don't worry.
16:08He's hurt.
16:09It's all good.
16:10They're back.
16:10They look awesome.
16:12They all score 25 every game.
16:15And then you pick your head up.
16:16And whatever this is with Embiid.
16:19And here's the crazy thing.
16:20You get, like, injury-prone guys.
16:22You're like, yeah, it's his ankle.
16:24It's his foot.
16:25Like, Joel Embiid, like, it's appendicitis.
16:28He got his orbital bone broke.
16:32His hand doesn't bend.
16:35Like, he does have unbelievably bad luck, Joel Embiid.
16:40But if you're the Sixers and you miss the playoffs two straight years, how are there not drastic changes this
16:51offseason?
16:54It has to be.
16:56It has to be.
16:57My question is, can they even stay out of the play-in game in these last couple of things here?
17:02Can they catch it?
17:03Atlanta, and we're looking at a month one way or the other, right?
17:06And Ananobi had this back in 2019, and he was sidelined for about four weeks.
17:12Four weeks, you're done.
17:13The season's over already, isn't it?
17:15Well, I mean, again, this is where the Sixers are so fascinating in that if I were to tell you
17:21they are, you know, the eighth seed playing a Detroit team, people will be like, and they're healthy.
17:26Like, maybe.
17:28Right?
17:28Maybe.
17:30But now, does Philly make it out of the play-in because the play-in is bizarrely loaded?
17:38I turned a Magic game on yesterday, and I saw Franz Wagner.
17:44I was like, oh, my gosh.
17:46I thought Franz retired to play over in Germany.
17:49I didn't know Franz Wagner was still on the Orlando Magic.
17:52So, Franz is back.
17:54The Hornets are one of the best teams in the NBA.
17:57Heat culture, I'll let you handle that, Joe.
18:00I mean, whatever's going on with that basketball team.
18:02But even if Philly is the eight, I would say this, and I think you guys would agree.
18:08Let's say Philly's the eight, Charlotte's the nine.
18:11If they play in the eight, nine, that second game, winner's in, loser goes home, Charlotte will be a favorite
18:18in Philadelphia with Joel Embiid missing the basketball game.
18:23Yeah, probably will at that point here.
18:25And also, sometimes it comes down, Kevin, to the end-of-the-year matchups that you get.
18:28So, if we take a look tonight and say, okay, Lakers and Rockets are like, good.
18:32Nuggets probably got to play OKC.
18:34Well, that's a loss for them.
18:35Not so fast.
18:36You know, you have a team that's already clinched the number one overall seed, and then you take a look
18:39at it, like, wait a second.
18:39The Nuggets are favored by 11.5 points tonight over OKC, and rightfully so.
18:45Still, the betting public's like, wait a second.
18:47Now, I'm not falling for this.
18:48I'll take the 11.5.
18:49Buyer beware at this point now.
18:51Nuggets and OKC tonight, Kev.
18:53Do we get a full lineup?
18:54Do we get people trying?
18:55Or is this just an easy win for the Nuggets?
18:58Well, OKC is certainly sending no one out.
19:00I like that OKC didn't even do, like, a big injury report, and then we'll decide later.
19:03They just ruled out as many guys as they could.
19:07SGA, Chet, the whole deal.
19:10What I find funny, though, and I don't really know what Denver's angle is here, but their injury report is
19:18star-studded as well, and I assume that's in part because the awful, terrible, everybody admits it 65-game rule,
19:29Jokic only needs to play one more game, and they got two left.
19:32So, Jokic doesn't need to play each of the last two games, unlike Wemby, who's going to rush himself back
19:40to finally win a defensive player of the year.
19:43I would just, I would say, Donnie, actually, buyer beware on the Denver side, just to make sure Jokic is
19:51in, right?
19:51But I will tell you this, like, I don't know, I'll end up with the public.
19:55If this closes Denver 15, I'll take the Nuggets, or I'll take the Thunders backups getting, you know, almost double
20:01digits against anyone.
20:04Big night for LeBron and the Lakers last night, get it done.
20:08So, the question is, is he playing tonight?
20:10What do we think we're getting?
20:12The Suns would like to win the game, I would imagine, although Booker's already been ruled out and Jalen Green
20:17is questionable.
20:18But it's a pick-em.
20:19What are we getting?
20:21Yeah, you know, it's funny, I guess, Donnie was on the Lakers.
20:23I actually liked the Warriors, and then they ruled Steph Curry out, and I was stuck.
20:28Because the Lakers, I wasn't going to middle myself or anything, but I was like, oh, the Lakers are absolutely
20:34winning this game.
20:35LeBron, by himself, isn't going to lose to the useless Warriors version, and that's not what happened.
20:42I don't really know – the problem is the Lakers now almost, like, need help in order to catch Denver.
20:50And if you're the Lakers, you're not going to get that help.
20:55Do you play LeBron on the second leg of a back-to-back at age 41?
21:00Nope.
21:00And if there's no LeBron, Phoenix is going to close as a much bigger favorite.
21:04How about that?
21:05It's Kevin Walsh.
21:06Game time decisions coming up tonight, 6 p.m. Eastern with Gabriel Moretzzi right here on the Sports Grid Network.
21:11Enjoy your weekend, Kevin.
21:13I'm going to go over to the Association.
21:14Picked up another victory yesterday, so I'm 3-1 on the week heading into this Friday in the Association.
21:19There were two games I was looking at tonight.
21:21One of them would have been the Denver Nuggets, but they played that favorite role tonight going up against OKC
21:25when everybody's backing OKC.
21:27But you know me, Joe.
21:28I like taking basketball teams that nobody wants to bet on, and nobody gives any chance at winning at certain
21:33moments here.
21:33Take a look at this game.
21:34The New Orleans Pelicans and the Boston Celtics.
21:37Celtics played last night.
21:3875% of the betting public today early is on the Boston Celtics.
21:42That line opened up at 16-and-a-half.
21:43Do you know where it still sits right now, Joe?
21:4616-and-a-half points.
21:48So, the handicap tonight.
21:50Nobody wants to take the New Orleans Pelicans.
21:52Uh-uh.
21:53The boy with the RS is taking the Pelicans tonight and the 16-and-a-half points.
21:58Who's playing for the Pelicans?
21:59Who cares?
22:00Let's bet them, Joe.
22:01How about that handicap?
22:03Yeah, likely nobody, Donnie, that anybody's ever heard of is playing for the Pelicans.
22:08But you know what?
22:09Memphis covered the 23-and-a-half the other night.
22:12We didn't know anybody either.
22:14Nobody's playing for this team.
22:16Don't you worry.
22:17Some guy's going to collect a paycheck.
22:18Nice.
22:19Maybe a late three ball goes down to make it from 17-to-14, and you get that cover.
22:23It's how we do it.
22:24Now, coming up next, prediction markets edge on the early line.
22:27It's time for the best half hour you're going to have on this Friday.
22:30We'll be right back in this short break.
22:32Prediction markets edge on the early line.
22:34We got you for a half hour.
22:35Different way to invest.
22:36Get in, get out, and get paid here.
22:38Similar to the stock market, Joe.
22:40We like to explain it to the people.
22:41We like to have some fun and show them a new way that they can jump in.
22:46That's what it's all about, Donnie.
22:47We got a lot happening here this weekend.
22:50Obviously, the Masters is going to be a whole lot of fun.
22:54A lot of great trends and markets available.
22:56And Major League Baseball, keep rolling into a big weekend here,
23:01and hopefully some warmer temperatures in some spots.
23:05Yeah, taking the nose on home runs last night.
23:07Maybe it could have worked out in your favor.
23:08But let's take a look and start, Joe.
23:10In the association, out on the West Coast tonight, a 10 o'clock tip time.
23:14The Los Angeles Clippers on the road to take on the Portland Trail Blazers.
23:17If we line this game up, the slight favorite on the predictive market couch
23:21is the Portland Trail Blazers, Joe, currently trading live at a 52% clip.
23:25The underdog Clippers at 48%.
23:27If you feel that Portland can win this game by over 2.5 points,
23:32a $100 investment will pay back $213 plus money here.
23:36But the slight trading favorite is the home team.
23:39That's the Portland Trail Blazers.
23:41Yeah, and listen, I mean, Portland had a disappointing loss last game.
23:47So did the Clippers.
23:48But the Clippers lost after winning a couple of games.
23:51They lost to OKC.
23:53And there's no shame in that.
23:55But again, this is a battle for the eighth seed between these two teams.
23:59Had the Clippers won that last game against the Thunder,
24:02they would have been up two games here and sitting pretty.
24:05But they are going to have to try to solidify this.
24:07You don't want to finish ninth, Donnie.
24:09You need to be either seventh or eighth
24:11because that's one game, one win, and you're in the playoff.
24:15So anything worse than that, not good.
24:17This should be a very big playoff atmosphere game
24:21with both teams laying it out there.
24:23And I think ultimately the Clippers are probably the better side.
24:26And you can't go wrong looking at Kawhi props here in this spot either.
24:31By the way, we've been doing prediction markets for quite some time,
24:33certainly with the Sports Grid Network,
24:34being the leaders of explaining some of these options that you have
24:37and the evolution of these websites has been getting better.
24:39Like even on Cal Street today, Joe, I noticed that when you slide it down,
24:42you actually can click on game lines or player props here.
24:45So when you flip on the game lines, you can bet the spread.
24:47You can wager on the spread.
24:48Point total, money line, first half and full game.
24:50And then also investing in the player props as well,
24:53where they now have it sectioned out.
24:55Assists, rebounds, player threes, player steals,
24:57similar to what a sports book does offer,
24:59now being widely available, Joe,
25:01right here on these marketplaces on the predictive markets.
25:04Let's flip it over to Phoenix and Los Angeles.
25:06That's the Lakers.
25:07They're at home tonight.
25:08It is a back-to-back.
25:09They were in Golden State last night, now back home in LA.
25:12But Phoenix currently trading, Joe, as the favorite on Cal sheet,
25:15up to 56% now live with the Los Angeles Lakers.
25:19The underdogs at 44%.
25:20If you feel Phoenix can win by a number,
25:23which would be one and a half as it's listed,
25:25$100 investment will pay back $186.
25:27Phoenix currently trading, Joe,
25:29as the favorite over the home team, Los Angeles Lakers.
25:32Yeah, and really it's a matter of who's playing in this game, Donnie,
25:35and that's the questions you've got to ask yourself
25:37because we know Booker's already been ruled out.
25:39Jalen Green is questionable here.
25:43Not seeing a designation for Dylan Brooks,
25:46who might be a guy that you absolutely want to focus on here in this spot.
25:52And for the Lakers, hey, I mean, LeBron won last night.
25:56I can't imagine they're going to roll him out there for a second of a back-to-back in this
26:02spot.
26:02I think this could be a scheduled loss.
26:05But Phoenix, with sitting Booker and possibly Green, is telling you,
26:09yeah, I mean, we don't really care one way or the other for these final two games.
26:14So maybe some under props in a lot of spots as well.
26:18Yeah, and also maybe some under props here on player props for OKC taking on Denver.
26:22Typically, it's like, boy, we might be getting a playoff preview.
26:25Not the case tonight because why?
26:26The heavy favorite is not OKC.
26:28It's Denver at home by over double digits, Joe.
26:31Currently trading on the Cal State marketplace right now.
26:33Denver just to win the game, actually 82% as the chance.
26:36It's crazy.
26:37Wow, where am I ever going to get a line this cheap here on $100 investment to pay back $5
26:41.56
26:41just for OKC to win?
26:43The question is, OKC's probably not going to play anybody,
26:46and Denver actually needs this game.
26:48If you flip it down to the point spread, Joe, we talked about it earlier today.
26:5111 and a half, the favorites, the Denver Nuggets tonight.
26:56Yeah, I mean, listen, I'm not excited about laying that kind of number with Denver at home
27:01because they have not been good this year, Donnie, at covering at home.
27:04They have not been the kind of juggernaut in Denver that they've been in years past.
27:09But they've been really good in the second half at home, Donnie.
27:13So if I was going to look at anything, I might look at OKC early with even likely the second
27:20stringers
27:21and the backups playing for them.
27:22You might get a starter or two play, maybe a half here.
27:26But it wouldn't shock me, Donnie, if Denver pulls away in the second half, not in the first half.
27:32So I would likely look at taking the points more so than laying anything here.
