Transcript
00:14In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you.
00:19As we continue our journey of Lent, we open our hearts to the forgiveness of our God, as we forgive
00:27each other.
00:28We forgive our sins. Lord, have mercy.
00:32We help us to truly forgive each other. Christ, have mercy.
00:37We give us your freedom from our fears and self-doubt. Lord, have mercy.
00:43May your Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:52Let us pray.
00:54Amen.
00:55May your unfailing compassion, O Lord, cleanse and protect your church.
00:59And since without you she cannot stand secure, may she be always governed by your grace.
01:05To our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
01:11God, for ever and ever. Amen.
01:16A reading from the Book of Kings.
01:18Amen.
01:21Amen.
01:33Amen.
01:34man was a leper. Now, on one of their raids, the Arameans had carried off from the land
01:41of Israel a little girl who had become a servant to Naman's wife. She said to her mistress,
01:49if only my master would approach the prophet of Samaria, he would cure him of his recklessly.
01:55Naman went and taught his master, this and this, he reported, is what the girl from the
02:03land of Israel said, go by all means, said the king of Aram, I will send a letter to the
02:09king of
02:10Israel. So Naman left, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold and ten
02:19festal robes. He presented the letter to the king of Israel, it read, with this letter I am sending
02:26my servant Naman to you for you to cure him of his raptorship. When the king of Israel read the
02:33letter, he taught his garments. Am I a god, give death and life, he said, and he sends a man
02:40to me
02:40and he asks me to cure him of his hypocrisy. Listen to this and take note of it, and see
02:48now he intends
02:49to pick a quarrel with me. When Elisha heard that the king of Israel had torn his garments,
02:55he sent one word to the king, why did you tear your garments? Let him come to me and he
03:02will find
03:03there is a prophet in Israel. So Naman came with his team and child and drew up at the door
03:09of
03:10Elisha's house. And Elisha sent him a messenger to say, go and bathe seven times in the Jordan and
03:18your flesh will come clean once more. But Naman was indignant and went off saying, here was I thinking
03:26he would be sure to come out to me and stand there and call on the name of the Lord
03:31his God and wave his
03:32hand over the spot and cure the purpose. But surely Abana and Farpar, the livers of Damascus,
03:43are better than any water in Israel. Could I not bathe in them and become clean? And he turned round
03:50and went off in a rage. But his servants approached him and said, my father, if the prophet had asked
03:57you
03:57to do something difficult, would you not have done it? All the more reasoned then, when he says to you,
04:03bathe and you will become clean. So he went down and immersed himself seven times in the Jordan,
04:09as Elisha had told him to do. And his flesh became clean once more, like the flesh of a little
04:15child.
04:17Returning to Elisha with his whole escort, he went in and stood before him. Now I know,
04:23he said, there is no God in all the earth except in Israel.
04:29The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. My soul is thirsting for the living God.
04:35When shall I see him face to face? My soul is thirsting for the living God.
04:40When shall I see him face to face? Like the deer that yearns for running streams,
04:46so my soul is yearning for you, my God. My soul is thirsting for the living God.
04:53When shall I see him face to face? My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life.
04:58When can I enter and see the face of God? My soul is thirsting for the living God.
05:04When shall I see him face to face? I will send forth your light and your truth.
05:09Let these be my guide. Let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.
05:16My soul is thirsting for the living God. When shall I see him face to face?
05:22And I will come to the altar of God, the God of my joy. My redeemer, I will thank you
05:28on the heart.
05:29O God, my God. My soul is thirsting for the living God. When shall I see him face to face?
05:37Praise and honor to you, Lord Jesus Christ. I hope in the Lord. I trust in his word.
05:45With him there is mercy and fullness of redemption. Praise and honor to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:53The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke. Glory to you, O Lord.
05:59Jesus came to Nazareth and spoke to the people in the synagogue.
06:04I tell you solemnly, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country.
06:08There were many widows in Israel, I can assure you, in Elijah's day, when heaven remained shut for three days
06:15and six months,
06:16and the great famine raged through the land. But Elijah was not sent to any one of these.
06:22He was sent to a widow in Zarafath, a Sidonian town. And in the prophet Elijah's day,
06:30there were many lepers in Israel, but none of these were spewed except the Syrian Naman.
06:37When they heard this, everyone in the synagogue was enraged. They sprang to their feet and
06:41hastened him out of the town and took him up to the brow of the hill their town was built
06:47on,
06:47intending to throw him down the cliff. But he slipped through the crowd and walked away.
06:56The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
07:02We don't like to hear challenges because they disturb us. We like to stay with what we are comfortable.
07:09And Lent is a time that makes us uncomfortable in some ways. It stirs us up so that we can
07:16recognize
07:16how we need to be converted. It is so easy for us to get stuck and to excuse and find
07:23excuses. That's
07:25the way we are shutting our ears and our heart and the grace of God calling us to grow. God
07:31keeps
07:31calling us to grow beyond our perceived limitations. But we are fearful and we stay small when God is
07:39calling us to grow. We pray for the grace to be able to grow and let God guide us and
07:45lead us into freedom.
07:53Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
07:58which earth has given human hands and made. It will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God
08:04forever.
08:20Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
08:25fruit of divine work of human hands. It will become a spiritual dream. Blessed be God forever.
08:41Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God our almighty Father.
08:48May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands with the praise and glory of God's name for our good
08:53and the good of God's only Church. May what we offer, O Lord, in token of our service, be transformed
09:02by
09:02you in the sacrament of salvation through Christ our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts.
09:12Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation
09:20always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father, almighty and eternal God.
09:27For you have given your children a sacred time for the renewing and purifying of their hearts.
09:33And freed from disordered affections, they may so lead, deal with the things of this passing world
09:40as to hold rather to the things that are eternally enduring. And so, with all the angels and saints,
09:46we praise you, as without end, we acclaim holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full
09:55of your glory.
09:56Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
10:03You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
10:09are sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall. It's a day made to come for us,
10:15the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly
10:21into his passion, he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples,
10:27saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up
10:33for you.
10:39In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks,
10:46he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
10:50for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:56which will be pulled out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of
11:03me.
11:10In mystery of faith, we proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you come again.
11:20Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord,
11:26the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in
11:32your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:38we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout
11:45the world and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Cleo, our Pope, me,
11:51your unworthy servant, and all the clergy. Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep
11:58in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of
12:34your face.
12:35those forever and ever. Amen.
12:39At the Saviour's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
12:44Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth
12:49as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
12:56those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
13:02Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days that by the help of your
13:08mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the blessed hope and
13:13the
13:14coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
13:21Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
13:26Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church. And graciously grant her peace and unity in
13:31accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
13:36The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always. Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
13:41peace be with you all. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us.
13:49Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take
13:56away the sins of the world.
13:57Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to the supper
14:17of the Lamb.
14:19Lord, I am not worthy. You should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall
14:24be healed.
14:26My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things,
14:33and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:39come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:44and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
14:51Let us pray.
14:57May your right hand, we ask our Lord, protect these people that make sentry and treated to you,
15:04graciously purifying them and give them instructions.
15:10May communion in this year your sacrament, we pray, O Lord, bring with it purification and the unity that is
15:18your gift through Christ our Lord. Amen.
15:21The Lord be with you and may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son and
15:26of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
15:30Let us go and proclaim the gospel by our lives. Thanks be to God. God bless your day.
15:37God bless you.
15:39God bless you.
15:40God bless you.
15:41God bless you.
15:45God bless you.
15:46God bless you.
