00:00Have I been led to believe, Chris, you're A.J. Brown over Alec Pierce?
00:03A.J. Brown for a first-round pick versus Alec Pierce for free agent dollars?
00:09Yes, I am, because I think A.J. Brown is still a legitimate one.
00:13I understand the concerns about the knee.
00:16It's something, you know, look, I could look foolish down the line,
00:19but he's proven that he can be a one, and I think he's a guy.
00:22Is he as good a deep threat as Alec Pierce at this stage of their career?
00:25No, he's not. Pierce is better as a deep threat,
00:27but he can still get behind a defense,
00:30and I think he is just a more complete overall receiver.
00:34Now, if you're telling me they have plans for Alec Pierce to develop him,
00:38they're going to get him with Todd Downing, they're going to do some other stuff,
00:41okay, you know, I see it to a degree,
00:44but I just look at it and think that A.J. Brown still has two to three good years left,
00:52and he's a legitimate number one wide receiver.
00:55I know he can take that role and do it on a contending team, championship-level team.
01:00I don't know that Alec Pierce can do that,
01:03and given where the wide receiver market is,
01:05if I'm going to have to spend $30, $32, $33 million on a guy that I'm not sure
01:10can do that job to that degree, that just makes me a little bit nervous.
01:14The other thing that makes me a little bit nervous about him giving him that money
01:17and anointing him with the number one role would be,
01:19he's not really a yards-after-catch guy.
01:22You know, he's not a big yak guy.
01:24He's not—you look at his yards per reception, and it's outstanding,
01:29and a lot of that is his ability to make catches behind the defense, which is great,
01:34but it's not taking an eight-yard slant and turning it into a 75-yard touchdown.
01:39That's not what he does.
01:42And if I'm getting a guy who's a number one receiver,
01:45and I think about their offense and what I saw last year,
01:48I think they could use a little more yak.
