00:00:08I'm going to be vegan pretty soon.
00:00:10My audience is going to be stoked that I'm taking on this challenge.
00:00:17I'm out here on the boat heading to the island.
00:00:22I am stoked.
00:00:23I'm going to be posting to my social media, to my followers,
00:00:26the intimate journey that I'm about to have.
00:00:30Fourteen days on an island.
00:00:31I'm really excited.
00:00:33Can't wait for you guys to see it.
00:00:35For the first time in Naked and Afraid history,
00:00:38five social media content creators bring their unique skills.
00:00:42Building a log cabin by hand.
00:00:45And passion for the outdoors.
00:00:47Let's go!
00:00:49To a remote island in the Gulf of Thailand.
00:00:54Like we say in Jersey, go hard or go home.
00:00:57Oh!
00:01:00Four o'clock!
00:01:03Wow, that sun is cooking.
00:01:05I don't know why.
00:01:06It's got to be this rough right now.
00:01:10Jenna, you all right?
00:01:13We're struggling.
00:01:15But no one cares.
00:01:17Try harder.
00:01:21Get the f*** out of here.
00:01:23Get the f*** out of here.
00:01:24Ah!
00:01:27Ah!
00:01:34About to get naked.
00:01:37I guess it was the first for everything.
00:01:40Time to get rid of all my tan lines.
00:01:48Start making plans.
00:01:51Doing a challenge like this is definitely getting me out of my comfort zone.
00:01:54But I'm excited for it.
00:01:58I've never done anything like this.
00:02:00And I want to prove to myself that I can't.
00:02:05Vamos!
00:02:08I've never had to contend with the ocean.
00:02:10I'm a three-hiker.
00:02:11But I plan to bring, like, girl power out here.
00:02:15How am I supposed to grow if I don't face my fears?
00:02:21I'm here.
00:02:22I'm naked.
00:02:23Au revoir.
00:02:24See you on the other side.
00:02:26Leading up to this challenge, people have been messaging me saying they're really excited
00:02:31that I'm going to be out here naked.
00:02:32I mean, I guess in my life, I am pretty naked in nature a bit.
00:02:36Let's go!
00:02:37I'm a content creator and climbing influencer.
00:02:40Mine have something like 200,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok.
00:02:44I'm here to tell you that the Alpine Heelhawk is real.
00:02:48In 2020, I started making climbing videos and they blew up.
00:02:52That kind of just steamrolled into a full-time career.
00:02:58Biggest hopes for this adventure, I want to prove that I can do hard things.
00:03:02I'm resourceful.
00:03:03I'm used to not having a lot.
00:03:05I'm used to being dirty.
00:03:07I'm used to eating weird things.
00:03:10There's an expectation that I do last these 14 days.
00:03:14So I want to live up to those expectations.
00:03:16And I do want to bring it home for my audience.
00:03:25I need to make some shoes.
00:03:28For sure.
00:03:34Checking out this insertion site.
00:03:37This is pretty surreal.
00:03:39The jungle's pretty dense.
00:03:42Mosquitoes in my ears.
00:03:44Ouch.
00:03:45There's a ton of thorns, you guys.
00:03:47Like, legit.
00:03:47And I'm feeling, like, a little overwhelmed.
00:03:51But also, this is what I signed up for.
00:03:59It is hot as hell.
00:04:01It is so humid.
00:04:02But what I know is, looking at these clouds and looking around, is that there might be some rain.
00:04:09And we're not talking a little.
00:04:10I'm talking, like, a lot.
00:04:12The creators will have to survive on the tropical island of Kobubu in two teams, far off the western coast
00:04:19of southern Thailand, in the Straits of Malacca, exposed to the harsh ocean environment.
00:04:28In this region, tropical storms can wreak havoc without warning, bringing with them 40-mile-per-hour winds and gusts
00:04:36up to 70 miles per hour.
00:04:39Under the harsh equatorial sun, humidity levels can reach 85%, making dehydration and heat stroke the number one threat.
00:04:48Already feeling the bugs.
00:04:50I've got a few bites already.
00:04:53Mosquitoes carrying dengue fever thrive after the monsoon rains.
00:04:57And poisonous scorpions and deadly king cobras hide under the thick leaf litter.
00:05:06Keep getting deeper.
00:05:07The jungle's getting thicker out here.
00:05:10It's completely new to me.
00:05:12Kind of got to look around to see what kind of resources I might be able to build with.
00:05:18I'm a content creator.
00:05:19I use content creation as a way to just project what I'm doing.
00:05:23My current project posted on social media is build a log cabin built by hand tools with old school methods.
00:05:30It's always found the labor our forefathers done to be very inspiring.
00:05:34The hand tools they used, the techniques and methods they employed to get large projects done.
00:05:40That's always really inspired my content.
00:05:43And I'm here to learn more about, you know, tropical building and whatnot.
00:05:48But I'm excited to take on the challenge.
00:06:08Hello.
00:06:09Hello.
00:06:11Hello.
00:06:11How are you?
00:06:12I'm good.
00:06:12How are you doing?
00:06:13Good.
00:06:14You're hugging your chicken.
00:06:15Yeah, I'm a hug.
00:06:17Oh, glad to finally see you.
00:06:18Yeah, nice to meet you.
00:06:20What's your name?
00:06:21Perry.
00:06:21Perry?
00:06:22I'm Dragon Sky.
00:06:23Dragon Sky?
00:06:24Yeah.
00:06:24Cool name.
00:06:25Thanks.
00:06:25I'm absolutely feral.
00:06:27I love being naked.
00:06:28I love running through the woods.
00:06:29I hike all over the world.
00:06:31I've hiked over around 5,000 miles.
00:06:34I've been through every element that you could possibly imagine.
00:06:42Hell yeah.
00:06:44As a black queer woman, I've been climbing mountains my whole life.
00:06:47And now I'm on Instagram making videos.
00:06:50And I just want to inspire everyone to just know that, like, reach deep inside yourself.
00:06:56And you can do anything.
00:06:57I'm really excited for my dragonflies, aka my followers, to see me out here.
00:07:02That sounds great.
00:07:03How about you?
00:07:03What do you do?
00:07:05I do social media, teaching people how to live off the land and homestead.
00:07:10Wow.
00:07:11Things that people have forgotten how to do.
00:07:13When I started doing instructional videos on how to do stuff, my social media really took off.
00:07:19Turned this into this.
00:07:21It's Jordan.
00:07:22Over the past five years, I've gained millions of followers.
00:07:25I've been told quite often that I'm a really good teacher.
00:07:28I think that's why people are responding so well online.
00:07:32Did you know you can make your own delicious mayonnaise at home out of animal fat?
00:07:35Ever since I was a little kid, I was always intrigued by tropical islands.
00:07:40I've always had a fantasy of being stuck on one.
00:07:43And now I get to finally do that.
00:07:45We're going to kick ass.
00:07:46Yeah, we're going to kick ass.
00:07:47We're going to rock it.
00:07:48Mm-hmm.
00:07:48My partner, Perry, with his skills and his experience, I'm really looking forward to what we're going to do.
00:07:55So, hell yeah, let's kick some ass.
00:08:05Hey.
00:08:07How's it going?
00:08:08Good.
00:08:08How are you?
00:08:09Doing all right.
00:08:10I'm Jenna.
00:08:11I'm Pearson.
00:08:12Nice to meet you.
00:08:12Nice to meet you as well.
00:08:14Where are you from?
00:08:15I'm from East Texas.
00:08:17Texas?
00:08:17Very rural East Texas.
00:08:18Yes, ma'am.
00:08:19Yes, ma'am.
00:08:20All right.
00:08:21So, I spend a lot of time outdoors, mess around in the woods and whatnot.
00:08:24Okay.
00:08:24I do content creation part-time.
00:08:27What about you?
00:08:28Cool.
00:08:29I also do some content creation and decently good at starting fires.
00:08:34That's good.
00:08:35Glad to hear that.
00:08:36Yeah.
00:08:36I think we can get something going pretty good and we'll have a solid first night.
00:08:40Should we look around for our bags?
00:08:41Yes, definitely a good first idea.
00:08:47Oh, what the frick?
00:08:49What's up?
00:08:49There's another one of them.
00:08:51I'm Beau.
00:08:51Beau Pearson.
00:08:52Pearson, nice to meet you.
00:08:53I'm Jenna.
00:08:54Jenna, nice to meet you.
00:08:55Nice to meet you.
00:08:55How are we doing?
00:08:56We're good.
00:08:57Now that we're a dream team.
00:08:59Yeah.
00:09:00What a squad.
00:09:01Do you like make content?
00:09:03I do.
00:09:03In line as well?
00:09:04Yeah, yeah.
00:09:05What about?
00:09:06Climbing.
00:09:06So, you're like a risk taker?
00:09:07Yeah, up mountains and stuff.
00:09:09Cool.
00:09:09Yeah.
00:09:10It looks like we're three content creators, which means this may be the most insufferable episode
00:09:15of Naked and Afraid yet, but it'll be super cool to be able to create with other people
00:09:19who do the same thing.
00:09:21I'm visually seeing what's happening here.
00:09:22You're a rock climber.
00:09:24Yeah.
00:09:24You are a woods dude?
00:09:26A woods dude.
00:09:26A woods dude.
00:09:27Okay.
00:09:27Great wood.
00:09:28I am self-proclaimed mermaid.
00:09:30Mermaid.
00:09:31Yeah.
00:09:31Yes.
00:09:32I am a mermaid.
00:09:33Mermaid witch.
00:09:34This just got good.
00:09:36I make content mostly about witchy things and spirituality.
00:09:40I have over 70,000 followers.
00:09:43A witch is someone who knows her own power.
00:09:45That's really what it means to be a witch is to channel your magic into the world.
00:09:49If you want to wear a pointy hat, you can.
00:09:52Most of my comfortability and strength is in the ocean.
00:09:56I have 10 years of open water experience.
00:09:58So snorkel, free dive, scuba dive, spearfish.
00:10:01I also run a lifeguarding team.
00:10:04So yeah.
00:10:05You can say I'm a mermaid.
00:10:06Your one item better not be like seashells or something.
00:10:10Seashells?
00:10:10Yeah.
00:10:11Too late, buddy.
00:10:14So first step, the backstab.
00:10:15Copy that.
00:10:17Each team has been given a pot and fire starter.
00:10:19That's a big pot.
00:10:21While each survivalist is allowed one personal item and their phone for creating content.
00:10:28What else do we have?
00:10:31Got our mask.
00:10:33Water is going to be something we need to find.
00:10:35I see this like fresh water source here and then having this shoreline for food.
00:10:40Sure.
00:10:41That water source is looking good with access to the ocean, maybe a reef.
00:10:45A lot of good stuff.
00:10:46There's a reef.
00:10:47Oh, yeah.
00:10:47For protein.
00:10:48Yeah.
00:10:49All right, cool.
00:10:49Well, you want to get started?
00:10:51Hell, yeah.
00:10:53Both teams will travel close to a mile through dense jungle to reach their survival areas.
00:10:58The island's northeastern shore for Bo, Jenna, and Pearson.
00:11:03And the windier northwestern side for Dragon Sky and Perry.
00:11:08Neither team is aware of the other's existence.
00:11:17Is this the weirdest thing you guys have ever done or not really?
00:11:20Yep.
00:11:22Poe?
00:11:24Probably.
00:11:26I don't think I was expecting to have two partners.
00:11:29I think when you have people that make content, we are used to being the main character.
00:11:34And out here, when you have teammates, you're on a team, and so we'll see how personalities mesh.
00:11:48This looks promising, guys.
00:11:50It does.
00:11:51Looks like we made some coastline.
00:11:53This is pretty.
00:11:55There is bamboo here, so that's nice.
00:11:57Yeah, better if we don't even need to cut down stuff for shelter.
00:12:02I imagine we don't want to make our shelter on the beach.
00:12:05Yeah, get washed away.
00:12:06Um, somewhere just tucked away where we still get, like, a little bit of a breeze.
00:12:12Found our water.
00:12:14This is what our water source looks like.
00:12:16Yay!
00:12:17Rock on!
00:12:18That's going to be so big for us.
00:12:20Yeah.
00:12:22Are we all in agreement?
00:12:23Do not poop or pee near the water source.
00:12:25Yeah.
00:12:26I'd be fine building right here.
00:12:28You want to build in there?
00:12:29Yeah.
00:12:29This is very well covered.
00:12:31Look at that.
00:12:31Not a lot of rain would get through here.
00:12:33I'd be stoked on this.
00:12:35I was always super stoked about building near a coastline.
00:12:38Now I finally get to do it.
00:12:39But I think we only have so much time left before the sun actually sets, so we need to
00:12:44get some building as soon as possible before we're stuck out here in the treacherous
00:12:49jungle.
00:12:50We'll potentially make an A-frame.
00:12:52I think it's a...
00:12:53Oh!
00:12:54Oh, look at that.
00:12:56That's one side of our A-frame.
00:12:58Yeah.
00:13:00Our structure is an A-frame with an elevated platform to sleep on.
00:13:05We had bamboo slots going horizontal with vines woven in and out.
00:13:11If we're off the ground, then our heat's not going to be being sucked out of our body
00:13:14from, like, the cold ground.
00:13:16If you guys are cool with working on shelter, I'm going to go collect fire stuff.
00:13:21Love it.
00:13:21Cool.
00:13:23Collaborating with others makes better content, but also collaborating with others is going
00:13:28to help our survival chances.
00:13:29Seems like we have some unique skills and we'll balance each other out.
00:13:34I just want to say, I'm super stoked about this group.
00:13:38I like our odds.
00:13:39Oh, we're going to be out here all 14 days.
00:13:43You bet your bottom dollar.
00:13:52Looks like I found some water.
00:13:54This must be the...
00:13:55Oh, snap.
00:13:56...well that was on the map.
00:13:57I like the sound of that.
00:13:59Oh, yeah.
00:13:59It'll definitely need to be boiled.
00:14:01We'll have to come back to this and check it out.
00:14:03Okay.
00:14:07I can hear the waves.
00:14:08Yes.
00:14:09I don't think we're that...
00:14:14We could build maybe in between these two and that one.
00:14:21Make a triangle here.
00:14:23My question with this is, these holes, snakes or rats or something that's making these holes?
00:14:32There's always that chance.
00:14:32I would venture to say that that is probably crab, but I don't know 100%.
00:14:37We will build off the ground.
00:14:39Yeah, we're going to build.
00:14:40Yeah.
00:14:40Yeah, I'm good with this.
00:14:42I could definitely look for some material if you like.
00:14:45Any bamboo that's washed up, we could work as a team to get it knocked out quick.
00:14:56Ouch.
00:14:59Some bamboo.
00:15:03The vines like these, they'll make really good cordage to wrap around the tree and tie.
00:15:10This one's, I don't know what type of vine it is, but it's a lot like our grape vines that
00:15:15I have at home.
00:15:16Perry is building an elevated platform supported by bamboo posts and bracing the frame together
00:15:22so they can lay bamboo and palm fronds across the top.
00:15:28I've built this fort in my head so many times that I've worked out all the bugs that I think
00:15:32could possibly happen.
00:15:34But with millions of people watching me back home, I think we're going to see how prepared I actually am.
00:15:45I think I'm going to start on the fire.
00:15:47You want to.
00:15:48Yeah.
00:15:48Fire time.
00:15:49Fire time.
00:15:51First impressions are, she seems really nice.
00:15:55Dragon Sky is very eager to learn.
00:15:58This could be a pretty good partnership.
00:16:01Hopefully everything continues to go smooth.
00:16:10Woo.
00:16:15Huh.
00:16:16Oh.
00:16:17This is hard work.
00:16:19Went through hiking.
00:16:21It's easy to start things with a lighter.
00:16:24I'm so used to things just boom.
00:16:28Yeah, these are really wet.
00:16:29It's waterlogged.
00:16:31Ugh.
00:16:36A little bit of magnesium off.
00:16:39A pinch of magic.
00:16:42In general, you want to boil everything in a survival situation.
00:16:46It's possible that the rain hits leaves that have bacteria on them before it drops into your spring water.
00:16:54Because it puts us at risk for having stomach issues, which would just be not a good vibe.
00:17:01Fire queen.
00:17:03Witch.
00:17:04Good job.
00:17:05What a beautiful sight.
00:17:07Now we can boil some water.
00:17:10I'm stoked.
00:17:12It's working well.
00:17:13That's great.
00:17:13I feel very much like a witch with my hanging suspended cauldron.
00:17:17You do have a cauldron.
00:17:19Yes.
00:17:28The shelter's not quite finished.
00:17:31Realistically, it's not going to get finished.
00:17:33Oh, it is so windy.
00:17:36Oh, my God.
00:17:37I don't know why it's got to be this rough right now.
00:17:40I'm just going to keep going at it.
00:17:42Oh.
00:17:43This is just day one.
00:17:45We're figuring it all out.
00:17:46We'll get a good flow down soon.
00:17:47I'm just like, what the hell, man?
00:17:49I wanted something of a shelter, and it's not looking promising right now.
00:17:57Prospects of fire seem very grim.
00:18:00Yeah.
00:18:01I don't know if we're catching anything tonight.
00:18:03It's next to be tomorrow.
00:18:04Absolutely.
00:18:11We are doing so well.
00:18:13We've got water hanging, boiling, and then check out our sweet bed.
00:18:21It's plush.
00:18:34Oh, no.
00:18:35Actually, that made it more comfortable.
00:18:43Shucks.
00:18:44Are we on the ground?
00:18:45No, on the ground.
00:18:47Stand to your side.
00:18:49Piercing.
00:18:51We're doing fine over here.
00:18:55Well, night one is off to a rough start.
00:18:59But where you're sleeping is, like, vertical.
00:19:04And the night is so long.
00:19:20Oh, you heard the walking around, right?
00:19:24Yeah.
00:19:26There it is.
00:19:27There it is.
00:19:48It could be one of those monitor lizards.
00:19:54Is that you?
00:19:54Oh, my God.
00:19:55It's a mouse, and it's up here.
00:19:56Oh, get the f*** out of here.
00:19:57Yeah, f***.
00:20:13Good morning.
00:20:14It's now the morning of day two.
00:20:16Let's actually get real about last night.
00:20:19It sounded what appeared to be elephants thrashing through the camp, and it wasn't.
00:20:24It was rats.
00:20:25Rats.
00:20:26They're really annoying.
00:20:27Squealing.
00:20:28All kinds of noise.
00:20:29All night.
00:20:30Totally freaked me out.
00:20:32They should be trapped and eaten, because apparently they're nice and chunky, and that means they've
00:20:36been eating well, so we can eat well, too, by eating them.
00:20:39So they're going to die.
00:20:44Now we're just going to do this game again, because we're going to need water first.
00:20:49So the plan is to get the fire going and get the shelter up.
00:21:06So I cut down this tree.
00:21:08It's oozing white sap.
00:21:10There's actually a tree here.
00:21:11It's really dangerous.
00:21:12If you get the sap in your eye, you can go blind.
00:21:15So probably a great idea not to mess with this one.
00:21:19Now I've got to go wash the sap off my hands.
00:21:23Something we want to stay away from.
00:21:25We'll be able to see when I get back home.
00:21:33On day one, we built a shelter.
00:21:37On night one, we broke a shelter.
00:21:42It being night one, it's not a big deal that we didn't get a lot of sleep, but definitely
00:21:46we're going to want to get sleep tonight.
00:21:48For sure.
00:21:49Yeah, we need to keep ourselves warm tonight.
00:21:52Yeah.
00:21:53It's a big priority.
00:21:54The fan palms we put on today should hopefully block some wind and keep us a little more warm.
00:21:59Despite the tough night, the team's morale is very good.
00:22:02We all agree that our top priority is this structure.
00:22:05What do you think of that for like little cuts?
00:22:08Yeah.
00:22:08I like the vision.
00:22:10The new structure will be reinforced with additional bamboo supports along the back, front, and sides.
00:22:17The vine platform will be reinforced and a roof will be added.
00:22:23We're going to make it a lot better.
00:22:25We have a full day to actually work on it, so.
00:22:28Do you guys need any more bamboo?
00:22:29There's another piece down here.
00:22:31I think we're set for now.
00:22:33Okay.
00:22:34I just want to make sure this shelter is structurally stable.
00:22:38Make sure there's no chance of it breaking at nighttime.
00:22:42I've never really worked with bamboo at all until now, and it's been pretty tricky, but slowly I actually come
00:22:48into something, which I'm happy.
00:22:51Pearson's been handling the structure building.
00:22:53He's got ideas on how it should be set up.
00:22:56I think that's what he does in the real world, too, so he's got experience there, and I'm happy to
00:23:02learn from him.
00:23:03Let's f***ing go, dude.
00:23:05I think it's going to work out great.
00:23:16Now it's windy.
00:23:17Clouds are starting to come in.
00:23:21It's dicey, spicy, and I think it's not going to be nice.
00:23:25The island that was actually directly across has faded into the gray.
00:23:31Absolutely infinite f***ing doom.
00:23:43It's raining.
00:23:46Dana, you feel that?
00:23:48Sure do.
00:23:50Just trying to protect the fire a little bit.
00:23:54We protect our coals.
00:24:02Did it get anything?
00:24:03Yeah, I got a little bit.
00:24:05Okay.
00:24:06Drink some.
00:24:07I think the possibilities of a fire right now are just none.
00:24:11No dry wood at all.
00:24:12We'll get a roof on there soon.
00:24:14It'll be all right.
00:24:15We'll get through it.
00:24:16Just one day at a time.
00:24:17One day at a time.
00:24:33I feel like a shriveled up raisin.
00:24:36I second that.
00:24:37I'm over here shivering like a chihuahua, so...
00:24:40The rain's starting to let up a little bit.
00:24:42Time for a roof.
00:24:46I'm making shingles.
00:24:49The leaves of these fishtail palms are really nice and waterproof.
00:24:54I think if I lay across a thin piece of bamboo and then fold them in half,
00:25:00then I can make a set of shingles that'll run all the way across and then I'll just stack
00:25:06those up as I go.
00:25:07It'll help shed water off.
00:25:10Can't wait for everybody to see.
00:25:12Pretty exciting reading all of the comments and suggestions and what people would have
00:25:16done different.
00:25:17My favorite part is reading all that.
00:25:21I'm here trying to make a fire and guess what?
00:25:24Everything is soaking wet.
00:25:27It's been super frustrating, but I'm like not giving up.
00:25:32And we got rainwater, so that's a positive.
00:25:35Dragon Sky's trying really hard and she's really tough.
00:25:38She doesn't have a quit button either.
00:25:41And that kind of effort is somebody I'd rather be around all day long.
00:25:45Oh, f***.
00:26:00Look at you go.
00:26:03That is good to see.
00:26:05How's it doing?
00:26:06It is very wet, but I think we just got really lucky.
00:26:10We gotta keep it going though.
00:26:12We got fire going and we're gonna have a roof over her head tonight.
00:26:18Kind of scary.
00:26:21Oh.
00:26:24Okay.
00:26:26Okay.
00:26:26Feels pretty damn comfortable.
00:26:27Guys.
00:26:28Sweet.
00:26:29We are so good.
00:26:30Okay.
00:26:31We are so bad.
00:26:33Let's go.
00:26:42Built a house.
00:26:43It's pretty cool.
00:26:45Just a little something to hang out in.
00:26:49It's pretty comfy.
00:26:51It's the end of day two here.
00:26:53No fire, but we've got water.
00:26:56We got a hell of a shelter.
00:26:58My partner's really cool.
00:27:00Yeah.
00:27:01Kicking ass and taking names.
00:27:17Oh.
00:27:19Please don't.
00:27:20Just don't.
00:27:21I do not do thunder and lightning very well.
00:27:24It just freaks me out.
00:27:28We'll get through it.
00:27:39It's raining, raining.
00:27:40We've all huddled together to share body heat.
00:27:44He was having a little bit of shivering, which burns calories, which you don't want.
00:27:49Oh.
00:27:50Oh, that's some pretty lightning.
00:27:51Wait, one, two.
00:28:05It's the morning of day three on Naked and Afraid.
00:28:09Last night was another doozy.
00:28:11We had a crazy storm.
00:28:14But we made it.
00:28:16We made it.
00:28:18Sure as hell isn't going to break us.
00:28:19If anything, it energized us.
00:28:23Strengthened our resolve.
00:28:25Gave us power.
00:28:27Reinforced our beliefs.
00:28:29Allowed us to make nicknames.
00:28:31Brought us closer together.
00:28:33Literally and figuratively.
00:28:35So true.
00:28:42I'm hungry.
00:28:43Yeah, I'm definitely freaking hungry.
00:28:45I can see right down there a bunch of oysters.
00:28:49I'm going to get some.
00:28:51Stay tuned.
00:28:52They're a little different than the farm ones we buy.
00:28:55But they taste good.
00:28:57They taste just fine.
00:29:01So what's on your mind right now?
00:29:03What's on my mind right now?
00:29:04Now I'm hungry.
00:29:06And I hope it doesn't rain again.
00:29:09Please don't.
00:29:10Because I really don't do storms.
00:29:13Thanks for keeping me calm and chill.
00:29:16I know from being in the woods, lightning can just strike anywhere.
00:29:20But I knew we weren't the tallest object.
00:29:22But I still was a little nervous.
00:29:25Last night, I think what really helped was having Perry.
00:29:28My eyes would just get wide.
00:29:30And I'd just look at this guy like, it's happening.
00:29:33So for him to be there was very grounding.
00:29:36You got anything that you want to work on or think it needs to be done?
00:29:39I want to keep eating oysters.
00:29:40Just get some more strength up.
00:29:42Yeah, do that.
00:29:43Realizing also how that affects my mood.
00:29:46So I'm just like trying to continuously eat as we go.
00:29:50And I want to dry this out.
00:29:51The goal every day is to just keep trying to get it as dry as possible.
00:29:55Our plan is to not waste any more of the fire rod.
00:30:01Only make that fire if the materials are 100% dry.
00:30:04Dry the rest of this out.
00:30:06This is going to take a while.
00:30:08My plan to dry out my materials is the hiker yard study,
00:30:11aka spread your as far as possible.
00:30:15Come on, son.
00:30:20I think it would be good to take advantage of the fire while we have it to cook stuff.
00:30:25Maybe fish with the net.
00:30:28Cool.
00:30:28I want to dive in the ocean.
00:30:33Taking the Hawaiian sling out for the first day.
00:30:36Goddess feed.
00:30:39The ocean is not something to be trifled with,
00:30:42especially out here when we're in the middle of it.
00:30:45The waters of Kobubu are teeming with deadly box jellyfish,
00:30:50whose venom can cause cardiac arrest.
00:30:53Highly aggressive bull sharks sometimes prowl the shallows.
00:30:56And stingrays hide under the sand, ready to inflict their excruciating stings.
00:31:03Yes, I have 10 years of open water experience.
00:31:06Yes, I run a lifeguarding team.
00:31:08That does not make me immune from the ocean.
00:31:27It's hard to drag it down and, like, scoop them up.
00:31:30Okay.
00:31:30They mainly swam into it.
00:31:32Okay.
00:31:33Okay, I see some getting trapped.
00:31:35Keep going like this.
00:31:36Yeah, keep going like this.
00:31:37All right, let's lift up a little bit.
00:31:42Let's go!
00:31:43That's good.
00:31:44Not bad.
00:31:45We're able to have a lot of luck with these small, minimal kind of fish.
00:31:49Huge morale boost, and I was very, very happy to have all that.
00:31:56You can see how the tide's coming up.
00:32:01There's only so many hours of sunlight, and then this comes up, the tide comes up, and screws
00:32:06it all up.
00:32:07Honestly, I don't think everything's going to be dry today.
00:32:09I just don't think that's possible.
00:32:12If we can't give fire, we still need water.
00:32:14So, I'll be making a water filtration system.
00:32:20I'm going to see if water flows through it.
00:32:26Now, I've got a packet full of gravel, sand, and charcoal.
00:32:33So, for the stone layer, I'm using the petrified coral.
00:32:36I'm just going to soak up any of the small, sedimental layers that I have coming through.
00:32:43Sand layer is going to help collect any extra sediment, and then charcoal.
00:32:49Charcoal is really absorbent, so any microorganisms will get hung up in that before it seeps through
00:32:55all of the rest of the layers.
00:32:57All right, so now we'll test it out.
00:33:03All right, it is full.
00:33:05It's pretty awesome.
00:33:06I don't build much.
00:33:07I don't know much about building.
00:33:09I'm learning, and I'm growing, so I'm just really glad that I have a supportive partner.
00:33:14It's already going in.
00:33:15There's a few sips in there.
00:33:16My first time drinking water that hasn't been boiled.
00:33:22What's it taste like?
00:33:23I've drank worse water.
00:33:25Grateful, because I can't do it.
00:33:27I don't know how to build that.
00:33:37Okay.
00:33:38I didn't catch any fish.
00:33:40We got some.
00:33:42Sweet.
00:33:42If we can keep catching and cooking these, then we should be able to keep eating as long
00:33:47as we can keep a fire going.
00:33:49All right, I'm going to say these are done.
00:33:54Dinner.
00:33:57So I've been eating them like this.
00:33:59Just hold the head?
00:34:00Bite the tail?
00:34:01Yeah.
00:34:03So what's the thing about the guts that you might have been concerned about before?
00:34:07Just about every animal, you gut them.
00:34:09I'm not, like, super worried about anything in these old guys.
00:34:13They're too tiny to really have much in there.
00:34:17I don't know.
00:34:19Fish poop.
00:34:20Swear.
00:34:22Tonight, minnows.
00:34:23Tomorrow night, big fish.
00:34:25I hope so.
00:34:26There are bigger fish to fry.
00:34:30There are bigger fish to fry.
00:35:15There are bigger fish to fry.
00:35:20There are bigger fish to fry.
00:35:22It's okay.
00:35:22It's okay.
00:35:22It's okay.
00:35:23It's okay.
00:35:26Giant rat jumped on my leg and then jumped from me to her.
00:35:30This is a dream, and then I just, I don't know, I kicked the roof.
00:35:34I felt bad.
00:35:35I did everything not to do.
00:35:39He was so heavy.
00:35:40That's a freaking cat.
00:35:42I f***ed.
00:35:43Yeah, kill it.
00:36:01Last night, I was dead asleep, and a rat ran across my butt.
00:36:10I'm making a deadfall trap.
00:36:13Hopefully catch this rat and eat it.
00:36:17I'm hoping tonight gives us a chance to catch something.
00:36:25How's it going?
00:36:26Good.
00:36:26Good.
00:36:27I think I've got all the wood.
00:36:28It needs time to dry.
00:36:30I'm hoping to get the fire going today, so at least we can have rat to eat.
00:36:34I feel like a lot of it is going to dry out today.
00:36:42Wow, that sun is cooking.
00:36:43I'm getting a little red, so I want to stare to the sun.
00:36:48Okay.
00:36:49And maybe later, I will go back out with a fishing net.
00:36:52I think the name of the game today is going to be, don't move too fast.
00:36:56I completely agree.
00:36:58All right, I'm going to give a house tour.
00:37:00Do you mind if I'm loud?
00:37:03Nope.
00:37:04Cool.
00:37:04When I create, I love working with other people, but I always feel this burden that I'm asking a favor.
00:37:10Like, hey, can you create this video with me?
00:37:12I don't want to get in their way if they're doing something that's more important.
00:37:15So far, we've been able to weave the surviving and the creating together.
00:37:21Everyone, to your ones.
00:37:23Good afternoon, mainlanders.
00:37:27We've got...
00:37:28Pearson.
00:37:29We've got...
00:37:31Jaybirds.
00:37:32It's Beau, and I'm going to give you a tour of our...
00:37:34What are we going to call this?
00:37:35Five-star beachfront property.
00:37:37Three-bed master bedroom.
00:37:40Walls are tastefully decorated.
00:37:42A few steps from the bedroom.
00:37:44You have your own private secluded beach.
00:37:47You're so secluded.
00:37:48You could even go skinny dipping.
00:37:50All right, a little Beau behind the scenes.
00:37:52Let me drop the street back.
00:37:52The position of Beau doing this and you sitting there is very funny.
00:37:56I feel like I'm in a dystopian society.
00:37:59I think it's hard to say when is the time to make content or not make content.
00:38:05You could frame it as a distraction, but I don't think it's a distraction.
00:38:09We haven't eaten anything today.
00:38:12Um, taking like five sips of water.
00:38:14The sun is frickin' brutal coming down.
00:38:17There's a lot of seafood to catch.
00:38:19I think it's more of storytelling and just making sure that we're documenting these silly
00:38:23things so that others in our community can experience it as well.
00:38:28All of you sitting at home, I hope you're fist deep in a carton of ice cream.
00:38:32Because that just took a lot of effort to film.
00:38:34And now I have to edit it.
00:38:37How many calories do you think I just burned doing that?
00:38:40At least one.
00:38:43At least one.
00:38:45I'm going to be over here editing.
00:38:47Okay.
00:38:48Have fun.
00:38:49My partners are creating content.
00:38:51I don't really mind.
00:38:52I'm glad they're getting content.
00:38:54As a team, we're all on the same page.
00:38:56But we need more food.
00:38:57It's Beau, and I'm going to give you a tour of our five-star beachfront property.
00:39:11It's been frustrating.
00:39:13It's not a lighter, so you're not getting that instant flame that you might want.
00:39:18But I dried out some of this material today, so I'm hoping it's going to wind up on you.
00:39:38Yes, baby.
00:39:41Ah, yeah.
00:39:45Oh, yeah.
00:39:49You did great.
00:39:51You really kicked ass.
00:39:53Oh, baby.
00:39:55Yeah, I'm from Jersey.
00:39:56We go hard.
00:39:57We go home.
00:39:58And I never gave up, bro.
00:39:59Y'all, I just started this fire.
00:40:02This is a win.
00:40:04I've been drying this tinder out in the sun for two days now.
00:40:09And I'm happy.
00:40:10I just want people to know they can do this.
00:40:12And I'm ready to pump my fist.
00:40:16Yeah.
00:40:17Okay, I'm done.
00:40:29I can hear them under us squeaking.
00:40:36Yeah.
00:40:38It sounds like you're driving under us.
00:40:41Mm-hmm.
00:40:49Mom?
00:40:57Oh, we got one.
00:40:58We did?
00:40:59Yeah.
00:41:00Shut up.
00:41:00Yeah.
00:41:01We got rat.
00:41:03Bro.
00:41:04That worked, which is cool.
00:41:06So we got breakfast.
00:41:07Teamwork is amazing.
00:41:09Yeah.
00:41:19We're going to do a lot of hunting today.
00:41:23I want to eat every single edible sea creature within a hundred foot radius of our island.
00:41:33It's still hot out, but then we're really hungry.
00:41:36So our focus is 100% on food.
00:41:40Look at that.
00:41:41Oh, oh, another one.
00:41:43Oh, sweet.
00:41:44Nine happy clams.
00:41:46Hot two clams, too.
00:41:47Ha, let's go!
00:41:50You think those are ready?
00:41:52I think they might be.
00:41:55Yeah, they're open.
00:42:00So good.
00:42:00Dude.
00:42:01I'm telling you.
00:42:01Why does that taste so good?
00:42:03Because we caught it.
00:42:05We're in the grocery store now, and we've got money.
00:42:08It feels good to actually chomp down on sustenance, on protein.
00:42:15There we go.
00:42:17Meat.
00:42:18What is it?
00:42:19I don't know.
00:42:21It's from the crustacean era.
00:42:23We're going to eat that, like, tongue-looking thing.
00:42:28Good stuff.
00:42:35We have meat, so I am stoked.
00:42:38It is a miracle.
00:42:40We're going to eat meat today.
00:42:42I'll teach you to jump on me.
00:42:44Stinking rat.
00:42:45You hungry?
00:42:46Yeah.
00:42:47Rat on a stick.
00:42:49Oh, hell yeah.
00:42:50I'm excited to eat a rat.
00:42:51I've never eaten a rat before.
00:42:53It's going to be good protein.
00:42:55I'll do the taste test.
00:43:00I think it tastes good.
00:43:01It's really gamey.
00:43:03Like venison?
00:43:05Oh.
00:43:07Like rat.
00:43:08See what you think.
00:43:13You like it?
00:43:14Tastes like chicken.
00:43:19Rat, you know.
00:43:22Four or five days without protein is a long time.
00:43:24You can feel it kicking in already.
00:43:27Kind of like a sponge just waiting for water.
00:43:31I've never had rat before, but that protein is really going to help us out.
00:43:35My plan now is to keep using that same trap in the same location.
00:43:39If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
00:43:42I want to eat rats for the rest of my life.
00:44:00Yeah.
00:44:02We got some.
00:44:04We got a meal.
00:44:05Fish pick.
00:44:08Your move, ladies.
00:44:12Oh, it's so stupid.
00:44:14We got a sea urchin!
00:44:15Let's go!
00:44:18Woo!
00:44:20That's freaking sweet!
00:44:22We are eating good today.
00:44:24That thing looked gnarly.
00:44:26There's no sea urchins in East Texas.
00:44:28I've never tasted sea urchin, so this is going to be a first.
00:44:31I actually really need some water.
00:44:34It's hot.
00:44:37I'm sweating my ass off.
00:44:40Giving his life so that we may eat.
00:44:43Y'all, how on earth do we eat this?
00:44:46Raw.
00:44:48Pearson, grab a slice.
00:44:49Take a little bite.
00:44:51Cheers.
00:44:51So you're taking the...
00:44:52Tiny, tiny noodle.
00:44:59What does it taste like?
00:45:03Oh, wait.
00:45:04It tastes like sushi.
00:45:05Wait.
00:45:05On the second half, it tastes like sushi.
00:45:08Pretty good.
00:45:09It's, like, soft.
00:45:10It was so buttery.
00:45:14Like, it was insane.
00:45:15I would love to have that over some sticky rice with a little bit of ponzu and lemon.
00:45:21Oh, my God.
00:45:23Jenna speared it.
00:45:24Now we're harvesting it.
00:45:26Raw sea urchin.
00:45:29Salty, creamy.
00:45:30Wow.
00:45:40So left of a rat, I'm turning into a broth.
00:45:43I use the head, eyes, brain, heart, liver, kidneys, all the bones.
00:45:48That's going to give us some extra nutrients while we're trying to survive out here instead
00:45:53of wasting and throwing it away.
00:45:55One of the things that I do at home, I save the scraps of everything that I eat.
00:46:01Biggest video I ever had, I got close to 30 million views.
00:46:05I made chicken and vegetable broth from scraps that I had laying around the kitchen.
00:46:11And I cooked it over a couple hours.
00:46:15In the next episode, we'll use this same pressure canner to can all these jars to stop.
00:46:18This is the same premise with this rat.
00:46:22I'm not wasting anything.
00:46:24Let's try some of that rat broth.
00:46:26Okay.
00:46:30Tastes like chicken noodle soup.
00:46:33That's good.
00:46:34I was like, oh, yeah, we're talking about chicken noodle soup type.
00:46:37It tasted like good.
00:46:39I kind of wanted to keep drinking it.
00:46:40However, looking at the hearts and the organs in there, I mean, yeah, nah, it's not about
00:46:48me.
00:46:48I'm not about that life, bro.
00:46:50You feeling any better after getting some food in your belly?
00:46:53Yes.
00:46:54Hell yeah.
00:46:56Yeah.
00:46:57I feel great.
00:47:04Feels like we're actually starting to stabilize now.
00:47:07We can finally enjoy paradise out here.
00:47:15Feel a little bit off.
00:47:22Jenny, you all right?
00:47:30You choking?
00:47:42Jenny, you all right?
00:47:52I think I'm just going to sit for a little bit.
00:47:54Okay.
00:47:55Need some water?
00:47:56Yeah.
00:47:58Pearson's on it.
00:48:01Anything else we can do to support you right now?
00:48:03Um, I think I really just need to sit for a little bit.
00:48:06All right.
00:48:07I have been in the hot sun and the sea all day.
00:48:10Like, I might just be wiped.
00:48:20Glad you're all right.
00:48:21Thanks.
00:48:23Pretty sure that I was experiencing heat exhaustion.
00:48:26Once I got in the shade and drank water, I felt significantly better.
00:48:29Ah, coconut container drinker.
00:48:34Sea witch.
00:48:36Definitely more clouds today.
00:48:38I hope a storm isn't coming.
00:48:52It's raining.
00:48:54It's wet.
00:48:55It's cold.
00:49:09It's cold.
00:49:10The hampel is going on.
00:49:12F***!
00:49:13Cold!
00:49:18Four o'clock!
00:49:21Oh, crap.
00:49:24It's gonna stop it.
00:49:47Rain again, second rain storm of the night, harder this time, but hopefully it doesn't
00:50:17It rained a lot last night, it didn't stop, my hands are runes, they're ridiculous, but
00:50:24feet are worse.
00:50:26Everything is obviously soaked.
00:50:29The sun feels so good, y'all.
00:50:31I've been freezing for so long.
00:50:34I feel the sleepiest I've been and the coldest that I've been.
00:50:39The fire went out last night.
00:50:41I'm gonna dry some more tinder off.
00:50:45Just gonna get as much as I can.
00:50:47Hanging out, different tinder to dry.
00:50:49I like to have a variety.
00:50:51Just because each thing burns differently.
00:50:53Some burns faster, some burns slower.
00:50:56It's more of like air drying and then I'll let the sun bake it.
00:51:00All right, I just let that do its thing.
00:51:06Feels very nice to be out here after being in that cold rain.
00:51:11Damn, it feels good.
00:51:12Feels like I'm finally living again.
00:51:14That was pretty brutal.
00:51:16Oh!
00:51:18I dreamt of this moment of sunshine.
00:51:20That was the roughest night so far.
00:51:23We got inches of rain last night, so fire is done.
00:51:26But we're all committed to finishing this challenge.
00:51:30But it's like we might come out scraping and bleeding.
00:51:36So, no fire on top of that.
00:51:39It smells bad in here.
00:51:41Smells funky.
00:51:42We should replace the bedding.
00:51:44Jenna had checked the bedding earlier today,
00:51:46and apparently it had a lot of bugs and was like rotting.
00:51:49So, about time we change it.
00:51:51What do you...
00:51:51You gotta wash your sheets every now and then, I guess.
00:51:54Just need vines.
00:51:56It's the biggest thing.
00:51:56Is that it?
00:51:57What about trying to make a fire?
00:51:59Yeah.
00:51:59The main priority is getting that fire started again.
00:52:02Yeah.
00:52:03For water boiling.
00:52:04Hell yeah.
00:52:05I'm gonna go work on fire stuff.
00:52:07I'll help you with bedding.
00:52:10Let's go!
00:52:15So, right now I'm collecting vines.
00:52:17Just looking all over for the best, most flexible vines we can get.
00:52:21Because I'm gonna be layering the bed, weaving again even more.
00:52:24So, I'm probably gonna collect like six or eight vines
00:52:28and go back there and start putting them on.
00:52:30It's gonna be a muddy task.
00:52:31Because it's so filthy under here.
00:52:35It's where the rats live.
00:52:36You're not gonna make my way under here.
00:52:40You want good sleep quality.
00:52:42So, working through the pain.
00:52:46I might as well collect whatever I can for firewood.
00:52:51This is soaked.
00:52:52Unusable.
00:52:54Fire means dry stuff.
00:52:55And I'm looking around here.
00:52:58Everything is either literally submerged
00:53:00or is significantly damp from the rain.
00:53:04I'm trying to be picky.
00:53:06Like even this, uh-uh.
00:53:09It's like back to day one.
00:53:25Damn.
00:53:26Okay.
00:53:27Keep trying.
00:53:28But would it be possible for you to grab one more vine for me?
00:53:32All right.
00:53:34Here's one for you.
00:53:41Uh-oh.
00:53:42Huh?
00:53:42One of these vines is a blinding vine.
00:53:45Are you sure?
00:53:45Yeah.
00:53:46How can you tell?
00:53:47It's white and it's sticky.
00:53:49If you have white and sticky, you guys need to wash your hands immediately.
00:53:53And don't touch your eyes.
00:53:54Oh.
00:53:56That's not good.
00:53:57Is the medic coming?
00:53:58We're getting the medic down.
00:54:00So, that would mean one of these trees over here is a blinding tree.
00:54:03Yeah.
00:54:03One of them is.
00:54:05If I get the sap in my eyes, I might get med tapped.
00:54:08I'll be out of here because I'll be going blind.
00:54:11I'm pretty worried.
00:54:12That's like the scariest thing out here.
00:54:22Oh.
00:54:23Oh.
00:54:24That's not good.
00:54:25If I get the sap in my eyes, I'll be out of here because I'll be going blind.
00:54:29What I noticed was my hands were sticky at first.
00:54:32And then I looked at the vine and inspected it.
00:54:36Cracked it a little bit and I noticed a white sap coming out of it.
00:54:39Is that it?
00:54:40What?
00:54:40Yeah, the sap is somewhere around.
00:54:42Okay.
00:54:43But the blinding tree, I think that should be fine.
00:54:46Upon examination, the medic determines the sap did not come from a blinding tree.
00:54:51But he sterilizes Pearson's hands and flushes his eyes with saline solution.
00:54:57Yes.
00:54:57Out of an abundance of caution.
00:54:59Good?
00:55:00It's good.
00:55:01Okay.
00:55:02Sweet.
00:55:03Yeah.
00:55:05How are you?
00:55:06Good.
00:55:07I think everything all right with your...
00:55:08Yeah.
00:55:08A little bit scary.
00:55:09Yeah.
00:55:10Do you want to sit?
00:55:11I've gotten so many flames going and just burns out in the tinder.
00:55:16You know what I mean?
00:55:17Yeah.
00:55:18Still not dry enough.
00:55:27I feel the hunger.
00:55:29What do you think about us fishing?
00:55:31I say hell yeah.
00:55:32Because even without fire, we can eat that fish.
00:55:35So...
00:55:35Yeah.
00:55:35Hopefully get something to eat.
00:55:37With the lack of food, it's just like...
00:55:39Yeah.
00:55:40But there's other means, so we're not out of options.
00:55:43The thing about fish is you can eat it raw.
00:55:45If it's straight out of the ocean, it's like sashimi or sushi.
00:55:51I think I'm going to walk out pretty far.
00:55:54Tide's coming in right now.
00:55:57So...
00:55:58It's getting a little bit deep.
00:56:01It's cold when it touches the balls.
00:56:04This is really deep water.
00:56:07I don't like open water.
00:56:09I had an incident as a child where I almost drowned and...
00:56:13It's just really traumatic for me.
00:56:15I don't know how he does it.
00:56:17My biggest fear is going out there past my...
00:56:21My neck and having to swim and then, like, getting pulled out to the ocean.
00:56:27And that's not a situation, like, I want to put myself in.
00:56:32A bunch of bites.
00:56:33Haven't had anything that actually held on to the snail.
00:56:40Coming out?
00:56:41I'm scared.
00:56:42Of what?
00:56:43Deep water.
00:56:44Dragon Sky, she doesn't do well with open water.
00:56:47Being out here on this island does have the potential to be an issue.
00:56:51I don't know if I could do this right now.
00:56:54I want to be brave, but I have limits.
00:57:08Today is day seven.
00:57:11It's hot today.
00:57:12And Jenna's out in the heat working on a fire.
00:57:16This is the second day without a fire.
00:57:17We've had some trouble with wet wood and just the humidity here.
00:57:22This place is, uh, this place can be brutal.
00:57:28Not being able to get this fire going has been a huge dip in morale.
00:57:33Huge dip.
00:57:35Pearson looks like he's hanging on by a thread.
00:57:41I'm a little bit worried about Pearson as far as kind of slowing down quite a bit.
00:57:45Even though it rained, we are running low on drinking water.
00:57:49I'm starting to get a little stressed.
00:57:57Messed up my finger.
00:57:59Trying to start fires.
00:58:03It shouldn't be taking this many magnesium strikes.
00:58:08I'm going to give it a shot.
00:58:12There you go.
00:58:13Add sticks.
00:58:14Add sticks.
00:58:15Add sticks.
00:58:17A little blow.
00:58:20And that happened to me seven times.
00:58:24The, uh, lack of fluids definitely taking a hit on me.
00:58:28It's like a machine needs oil.
00:58:29When you're running low on it, you're not going to be running good at all.
00:58:33And you might tear yourself up.
00:58:39No.
00:58:40We're working on the fire and we're struggling.
00:58:45But...
00:58:47No one cares.
00:58:48Try harder.
00:58:49A little toxic positivity for us to keep us moving, huh?
00:59:05There you go.
00:59:07Crazy.
00:59:08It's so cold.
00:59:10Not really getting any sleep.
00:59:13The storm rolled in, but...
00:59:15It's just cold air.
00:59:16Blowing.
00:59:21It was a good appearance, and then it just went to .
00:59:25I have never not slept for, like, three days.
00:59:29And it's just exhausting, shivering every night.
00:59:32You need a certain amount of calories to function.
00:59:34And then when you're shivering, your body's just like .
00:59:38Burning reserves.
00:59:40Right.
00:59:42Looking at the possibilities of staying on the other side of the island,
00:59:45so that's windy.
00:59:47Yeah.
00:59:48I literally want to just scream right now.
00:59:51I just want to scream.
00:59:53Ah!
01:00:10Day eight.
01:00:11I'm gonna give fire a try.
01:00:14Let's see what we can do.
01:00:20Grab the coconut husk.
01:00:22It's been drying for now two days or so.
01:00:26I set it up.
01:00:27I pack in some fibers.
01:00:29And less than a minute.
01:00:31Um, it's going.
01:00:35Smells like fire, Bo.
01:00:36He's cooking.
01:00:39Yeah, he's got it.
01:00:40Holy .
01:00:48Huge plume of smoke.
01:00:49I'm so happy.
01:00:51Okay, your stuff.
01:00:52It's gonna burn, like, well, and I'll go bring you more stuff.
01:01:00I'm glad that Bo got the fire started, because that means we can actually boil some water,
01:01:04and get really hydrated, and we can actually cook some calories up, so we can do a lot more.
01:01:10Ah!
01:01:13Let's go, dude.
01:01:14Good stuff.
01:01:21Did you test the pot?
01:01:22It's hot.
01:01:24It is hot, but it tastes good.
01:01:27Oh, that's really hot.
01:01:29Tea temperature.
01:01:31What kind of tea are you drinking?
01:01:34It's, like, really hot.
01:01:36We boiled water, and we're all getting hydrated, so we're feeling good about that.
01:01:45Joy overwhelms my body as I drink water again.
01:01:50We're gonna be extra careful about the fire from now on.
01:01:52Yes, we are.
01:02:01I'm gonna be going on a little walk.
01:02:03It's time to see what else is around the corner.
01:02:06On our west side of the island, the sun, it sets there, but it doesn't rise, so it stays colder.
01:02:12And the wind's a lot worse.
01:02:14You can't even get a fire going, because it's so windy.
01:02:17I'd love to move to the east side, and try and get some of the good attributes of that side
01:02:23of the island.
01:02:24And just the prospect of doing that, and the change of scenery, I think is gonna be really good for
01:02:29morale.
01:02:29Now, do you wanna come, or do you wanna sleep?
01:02:32I know you need your rest.
01:02:33I wanna take one later, but I definitely wanna see the rest.
01:02:37Okay.
01:02:43These rocks are really treacherous.
01:02:46They're, like, razor blades.
01:02:48So, luckily, I made some shoes out of materials I scavenged that washed up on the beach.
01:02:58Hopefully, I can get over to the other side of the island without cutting my feet.
01:03:08I found a new beach.
01:03:10The tide's a little high, so I need to figure out a way down there without getting cut up by
01:03:15the rocks.
01:03:23If there's a coconut tree, that would be sweet.
01:03:26Those husks have been really good for our fire.
01:03:31I see some naked people.
01:03:35Who is that?
01:03:36Wait, what?
01:03:36That does not look like Jenna.
01:03:38What?
01:03:39Who are you?
01:03:53I'm Bo.
01:03:54Bo?
01:03:55Perry.
01:03:56Pearson.
01:03:56Pearson.
01:03:57Nice to meet you.
01:03:58Nice to meet you.
01:03:58Nice to meet you.
01:03:58Are you a local here?
01:04:00You just live deep in the forest?
01:04:01No.
01:04:02No.
01:04:03I'm shocked.
01:04:04A lot for words.
01:04:05Yeah.
01:04:05I did not expect to see another naked person that wasn't Pearson or Jenna.
01:04:10It's like, what are the odds of that?
01:04:11We were just looking for some coconuts and some bamboo.
01:04:14You come across another naked dude.
01:04:16Friggin' Sausage Island here.
01:04:18Sausage Island.
01:04:19We have a third teammate.
01:04:21How many are you with?
01:04:21I have one teammate over there.
01:04:24She didn't get any sleep.
01:04:26She's resting now.
01:04:27Okay.
01:04:27So, what do you guys do?
01:04:28I do content creation.
01:04:30I do content creation.
01:04:31Jenna also.
01:04:32We're all content creators.
01:04:33I am too.
01:04:34I follow you, actually.
01:04:35Really?
01:04:35That's awesome.
01:04:36Yeah.
01:04:36Creator Island.
01:04:38I like it.
01:04:39Yeah, that's pretty cool, guys.
01:04:40Perry, you turned out to be following me.
01:04:42Following along with the wall cabin project.
01:04:44Which I thought was really neat.
01:04:46And he watched my videos and that just blew my mind.
01:04:48I thought that was the coolest thing.
01:04:50It made my day today, honestly.
01:04:51Yeah, I'm excited to trade secrets.
01:04:53Yeah.
01:04:53Yeah.
01:04:54Me too.
01:04:54What kind of structure did y'all make?
01:04:56Because we made an A-frame.
01:04:57I did like a shed roof.
01:04:58You guys are welcome to come check it out.
01:05:00We'd love to.
01:05:00Yeah.
01:05:01Sure.
01:05:01Lead on.
01:05:04So, I just ran into some naked people on the island.
01:05:07It's a big surprise.
01:05:08This should be interesting.
01:05:09Maybe we can swap stories and help the rest of this time here on Naked and Afraid pass
01:05:16by a little easier.
01:05:18Dragon Sky.
01:05:20We have company.
01:05:22Hi.
01:05:23Hi.
01:05:23I'm Beau.
01:05:24I'm Dragon Sky.
01:05:26Kirsten, it's nice to meet you.
01:05:27Nice to meet you.
01:05:29It was a rough night last night.
01:05:30Interrupting your sleep.
01:05:31I'm just tired.
01:05:32Sleep deprived.
01:05:34Immediately, I'm thinking, wow, new people.
01:05:37I'm like, yeah.
01:05:38I'm really excited to learn about them and see if we can combine our forces.
01:05:42This is going to be an exciting six days.
01:05:45You want to come see our place?
01:05:47Yeah, I'd love to.
01:05:55My first impression of Beau and Pearson, they're all smiling.
01:05:59They're ready to hang out, to impart knowledge on me and to learn from me.
01:06:03I think we're going to get along great.
01:06:05God damn it.
01:06:07I knew they'd find something cool.
01:06:09We've multiplied.
01:06:12Jenna.
01:06:14Yeah.
01:06:15We've got visitors.
01:06:16Hello.
01:06:17Nice to meet you, Jenna.
01:06:18Nice to meet you, too.
01:06:19I'm Perry.
01:06:19I'm Jenna.
01:06:20I'm Dragon Sky.
01:06:21Hi.
01:06:22Nice spot.
01:06:22I like your glasses.
01:06:23They're both creators as well.
01:06:25Oh, cool.
01:06:26So, like, overall, how are you guys faring?
01:06:28Like, how's it going?
01:06:30Yeah.
01:06:30I like it.
01:06:31Yeah, I'm having a good time.
01:06:33What are you guys eating?
01:06:34Rats.
01:06:34Yeah, we eat rats.
01:06:35There's been rats everywhere.
01:06:37You ate rats?
01:06:38Yeah.
01:06:39Tell them what you caught.
01:06:40Oh, I caught a sea urchin.
01:06:41Yeah.
01:06:42That's cool.
01:06:42That's super cool.
01:06:43You want a tour of our fort?
01:06:45Yeah.
01:06:46It's nice to see another woman.
01:06:48Yeah, me too.
01:06:48I was like, I would like to see another woman.
01:06:50I need to be around women.
01:06:52And I like your tattoos.
01:06:53Like, what are they?
01:06:54Thanks.
01:06:55Um, I have a...
01:06:56So, this one, actually, probably the most relevant I got because I do energy work.
01:07:01Mm-hmm.
01:07:01Reiki.
01:07:02My friend's a witch, so she's like...
01:07:03I'm a witch.
01:07:04No way.
01:07:05Yeah.
01:07:05I'm an empath, so I'm just, like, I sense energy and stuff.
01:07:08Yeah.
01:07:08This is great.
01:07:09This is lovely, because people just look at me like I'm crazy.
01:07:11Fat crazy?
01:07:12Yeah, they're like, yeah, you're just making it up.
01:07:14I'm like, no.
01:07:15When the two tribes meet, there is kinetic energy all over the place.
01:07:20And it's this uptake in energy, like the flame of a fire coming up.
01:07:25And it's exciting to me.
01:07:27It's a hell of a fire you got there, man.
01:07:29Looks good.
01:07:30It's really windy on that side of the island.
01:07:32We were pretty cold.
01:07:33How would you feel about building a shelter over here?
01:07:36I'm thinking that we just move.
01:07:38Just move over.
01:07:39I had an idea.
01:07:40How about underneath of your shelter?
01:07:42It could work.
01:07:43It's a little bit muddy under there.
01:07:44Maybe I'll lay down some leaves or something.
01:07:45A little bit of bedding.
01:07:46Yeah.
01:07:47This is badass.
01:07:49Welcome to the party.
01:07:51Oh, hell yeah.
01:07:52We got this.
01:07:53We got this.
01:07:54Sweet.
01:07:55Cool.
01:07:56That was exciting stuff.
01:07:58Sleepover.
01:08:05We got a clam boil.
01:08:07Look at this.
01:08:09Clams coming off the fire.
01:08:11All you can eat clams.
01:08:12Digging, guys.
01:08:14They taste so good.
01:08:16Mmm.
01:08:17What are we eating?
01:08:18Lots of clams.
01:08:20Full moon dinner.
01:08:24Clams are great.
01:08:25And we have a fire.
01:08:27One to ten, guys.
01:08:27What's the morale?
01:08:28One to ten.
01:08:29Ten.
01:08:30Yeah.
01:08:31Yeah, I think that's it.
01:08:32Definitely a 9.5.
01:08:33We got a...
01:08:34I'm at an eight.
01:08:35We got an average of 9.25.
01:08:38Too busy eating clams.
01:08:40Phew.
01:08:41Clam baked.
01:08:42Full moon.
01:08:44Whoa.
01:08:45Thank you, moon.
01:08:46Oh!
01:08:50Oh!
01:08:51Oh!
01:08:53Oh!
01:08:56Oh!
01:09:01Keep the fire going.
01:09:03Let's keep this party rolling.
01:09:06I am the fire queen.
01:09:08Yeah, baby.
01:09:09Yeah.
01:09:10Yeah!
01:09:10Ah!
01:09:12So here on the beach, I have noticed there's a big log.
01:09:17It's a big one.
01:09:19It's heavy, too.
01:09:20On the map, I saw a red X as our extraction spot, and it's out there in the ocean.
01:09:25I believe that this thing is going to make an excellent pontoon for a raft for our extraction
01:09:31day on day 14.
01:09:33I'm hoping this thing floats.
01:09:35Let's give it the old push.
01:09:37Push-a-roo and see what happens.
01:09:39Okay.
01:09:39Three, two, one.
01:09:41Oh, gosh!
01:09:44There you go.
01:09:45Nice.
01:09:46It's nice.
01:09:47It is nice.
01:09:48Is it supporting you fully?
01:09:50Yes.
01:09:51It's supporting me fully, too.
01:09:52What you got there?
01:09:53It's like we got part of a raft.
01:09:55Heck, yeah.
01:09:56Let's go, dude.
01:09:58Dang!
01:09:59This is great, this log.
01:10:02So what I'm thinking is a big pontoon here, and then maybe a couple structurally set up pieces
01:10:12of bamboo.
01:10:13To battle the ocean tides and reach their extraction point, the survivalists will construct
01:10:18a raft with a large, buoyant log as the base, lashed with vines to an outrigger frame of
01:10:25sturdy green bamboo for added stability and support.
01:10:29I love this idea.
01:10:30Mm-hmm.
01:10:31Go team.
01:10:32All right.
01:10:32Good talk.
01:10:33I'm excited about this.
01:10:40So I know we have like a bit to get done today.
01:10:42We're gonna need a lot of lashings and probably a lot of help with that.
01:10:46Yeah.
01:10:47I'm down with that.
01:10:48That's like probably one of the most important parts so that it doesn't disassemble while
01:10:52we're out there getting pushed around by waves and paddling and pushing on it.
01:10:56The plan today is to work on our raft.
01:10:59We have quite a bit of materials that we've gathered over the past few days.
01:11:02We've got a really large log.
01:11:04Basically, we're gonna build the outriggers out of bamboo and lash these bamboo pieces together.
01:11:19There you go.
01:11:27The log will come down there right in the center.
01:11:31Yeah.
01:11:32Yeah.
01:11:33Yeah, let's go ahead and start lashing.
01:11:36Lash together any of these four corners.
01:11:38I like raft building.
01:11:40It's something we did in Boy Scouts that actually held together because we knew our knots.
01:11:44So I'm excited to do that again on this island and get us out of here.
01:11:49Damn.
01:11:49That baby is secure.
01:11:51It looks good, Bo.
01:11:52Good job.
01:11:53You did good, Dragon Sky.
01:11:55Thanks for teaching.
01:11:57Oh, yeah.
01:11:58It's looking good.
01:12:08I'd like to run a test with the rigging.
01:12:10See how much buoyancy we have just holding onto this.
01:12:14Kind of float it out a little bit.
01:12:16Sit on our backs and kind of paddle a little bit.
01:12:18Without the log.
01:12:19Without the log, yeah.
01:12:20Just the outriggers.
01:12:22The plan is for Jenna, Pearson, Perry, and I to hang on the outrigger frame to test the
01:12:27buoyancy.
01:12:29Ultimately, when this is all roped together, Dragon Sky will be on the center log while
01:12:35us four kick.
01:12:36Me being afraid of really deep water is not fun.
01:12:39I'm so anxious right now.
01:12:41There's a possibility.
01:12:42I'll just panic.
01:12:43OK.
01:12:43It's scary, and I see one in my voice.
01:12:46I'm just a little shaky about it.
01:12:47Yeah.
01:12:48I see it all the time as a lifeguard instructor.
01:12:51For this demo, could Dragon Sky just go in between you and I?
01:12:54Yeah.
01:12:54On this?
01:12:55All right.
01:12:55You don't want your first experience of touching this raft in the ocean to be extraction.
01:13:01Yeah.
01:13:01We'll find a way to get into meditation mode.
01:13:04OK.
01:13:05That's what I do out there.
01:13:06I am very scared.
01:13:07I'm afraid of open water like this.
01:13:09So for me, it is important to get out there and test it out and see how I'll react.
01:13:14Three, two, one, lift.
01:13:17Oh, man.
01:13:19Go ahead and slow it down slowly.
01:13:22When we get a little bit deeper, we'll go ahead and push her back and float.
01:13:26All right.
01:13:29That's terrifying.
01:13:30All right, go ahead and everybody get on their backs.
01:13:33One arm.
01:13:34You can stay just like that, Dragonfly.
01:13:36You can stay just like that.
01:13:37You can stay just like that.
01:13:39Feet up.
01:13:40Yep.
01:13:41OK.
01:13:41I'm completely buoyant.
01:13:43Me too.
01:13:44My feet are not sticking with you.
01:13:46Nope.
01:13:46Slowly paddle.
01:13:50I think this is working.
01:13:51We got buoyancy right here.
01:13:53And this is only going to be more buoyant with the log.
01:13:58With the log.
01:13:58Yeah.
01:13:59Dragon Sky usually paddling as fast as you can.
01:14:03The test of the Outrigger float is a success, but seeing Dragon Sky's reaction becomes my biggest concern.
01:14:11No matter what, even if everything floats, if Dragon Sky isn't able to get on the raft or isn't able
01:14:16to maintain some level of calmness out there, then that could spell disaster for us.
01:14:24All right.
01:14:25You want to come float with me?
01:14:26All right.
01:14:27Give me legs.
01:14:29I got you.
01:14:31As a lifeguard, as a swim instructor, I know what it looks like when someone is verging into panic zone.
01:14:38And as we go out and we're getting a little bit deeper, I see that look of frazzled, big, dull,
01:14:46glass eyes in Dragon Sky.
01:14:47I see her setting into that panic moment.
01:14:51All right.
01:14:52I got you.
01:15:01I want to talk about something sort of serious.
01:15:04I've noticed a lot of you joking about how much they're going to blur or to be nice to production
01:15:09so that they extend the blur a bit lower for me.
01:15:12And I want to cut those conversations off now.
01:15:15It's not what I'm here for.
01:15:17And it's honestly the last thing on my mind.
01:15:19I have no sway in it regardless.
01:15:21Production handles that entirely.
01:15:24So I really have no idea actually how far they would blur even.
01:15:30And it's not important.
01:15:31It's not important.
01:15:32It's not why I'm here.
01:15:33And so I would really love if we could change the conversation to what I'm doing here and surviving and
01:15:39everything around that.
01:15:40All right.
01:15:41I'd appreciate that.
01:15:47All right.
01:15:49All right.
01:15:50Over me.
01:15:52This is an intense moment.
01:15:54I realized that she's in a very vulnerable position and I did my best like calm voice and meditative breath.
01:16:02You're doing really good.
01:16:04Yes.
01:16:07It's so good.
01:16:08Let's go get warm.
01:16:09Good job, you two.
01:16:11I felt like I was going to die.
01:16:13That's how panic attacks feel.
01:16:14But I feel really reassured by Jenna.
01:16:17And she was just keeping me centered.
01:16:18She's like, good job on breathing.
01:16:20Lots of reassurance.
01:16:21It was a powerful moment.
01:16:25Being afraid of deep water is like one of the most common, huge anxieties for people.
01:16:31It's a really big deal what you just did out there.
01:16:34I mean, I'm happy I got through it.
01:16:36I appreciate you a lot.
01:16:37We're going to get there together.
01:16:39Thanks.
01:16:41I'm definitely terrified, but I'm like, you know what?
01:16:44Trauma doesn't define me.
01:16:45Trauma is not going to control me and fear won't.
01:16:47I'm just going to go and knuckle it up.
01:16:54Hoping to chat about the extraction with everyone.
01:16:57Let's do it.
01:16:58We are here.
01:17:00So we should be heading that way.
01:17:03The survivalists must navigate their raft five miles east across the open ocean.
01:17:09Facing unpredictable weather and treacherous waves to reach their extraction point.
01:17:15Jenna, as most knowledgeable about the ocean, what should we be aware of?
01:17:19I think there's three main things.
01:17:21One is we need to be really careful to keep this straight out as we go out.
01:17:27We don't want that rolling over anyone.
01:17:29Second thing is the jellies.
01:17:30Okay.
01:17:31I don't know how much we can prevent that.
01:17:33Sharks, are they a concern?
01:17:35If you see a shark, stop kicking your feet.
01:17:37Don't look like prey.
01:17:39If you look like prey, it will be more interested.
01:17:42And the way a shark is interested is with its mouth.
01:17:45So we don't want an interested shark.
01:17:48Today is going to be a doozy.
01:17:50We've got this big, heavy raft that we have to lash together, hope it holds together,
01:17:54and then get it out somewhere in the middle of the sea.
01:17:56That's a big day for us.
01:17:57It's going to take a lot of energy.
01:17:59We're ready.
01:17:59We're getting out of here.
01:18:00We are leaving this place.
01:18:04I feel like a pallbearer.
01:18:09Pretty cool, you guys.
01:18:10Like a glove.
01:18:11Like a glove.
01:18:12Whoa.
01:18:13All right, let's get the lashes.
01:18:17This is the raft that has been built over the past few days.
01:18:22Everyone's working together as a team to get this thing out.
01:18:25Looking dope.
01:18:26Good.
01:18:26Jenna, how are you feeling?
01:18:27I feel great.
01:18:30Pearson, how are you feeling?
01:18:31Fantastic.
01:18:32I'm ready to go out to sea.
01:18:34Yeah.
01:18:35Perry, how are you feeling?
01:18:36Ready to get the hell out of here.
01:18:38I mean, yeah.
01:18:39You know what?
01:18:40We'll see how it feels.
01:18:42All right.
01:18:43Let's do this.
01:18:44Now, it's just a matter of getting out to that extraction point.
01:18:48What we don't know is how the tides will shift,
01:18:50what animals are under us, or if the weather will change.
01:18:54And we've seen that it can change in a heartbeat.
01:18:56Lacking nourishment and dehydration,
01:18:57but mentally, we're here and ready to do it.
01:19:00We got some good momentum going.
01:19:02Keep your pace going.
01:19:04Don't burn out too quickly.
01:19:07Goodbye island.
01:19:08Yeah.
01:19:09How are you doing, Dragon Sky?
01:19:11I'm okay.
01:19:11I just need to stay focused.
01:19:15I'm feeling a little nervous about this thing.
01:19:18I'm just really focusing on paddle, paddle, paddle.
01:19:22Don't look out.
01:19:22Breathe.
01:19:23Paddle.
01:19:23Breathe.
01:19:24Paddle.
01:19:24I'm okay.
01:19:25I'm all right.
01:19:26I'm going to be okay.
01:19:28How's the lashings holding up on everybody's section?
01:19:31A little dry.
01:19:32All right.
01:19:33Does anyone feel like we're kind of pushing against the current?
01:19:37Yeah.
01:19:38Maybe we got to give it a little more folks.
01:19:40All right.
01:19:40Kick it up a notch.
01:19:42All right.
01:19:43The current changes, and now it's against us.
01:19:47It's like you are fighting a treadmill,
01:19:49and it'll tire people out a little quicker.
01:20:04I got another jellyfish too.
01:20:06Yeah?
01:20:08Right on the back of my calf.
01:20:13You got to be almost there.
01:20:16Almost.
01:20:17Come on.
01:20:18Hold.
01:20:19Okay, guys.
01:20:19Pause.
01:20:21All right.
01:20:22You want to get on and row?
01:20:24Try it.
01:20:26Go for it.
01:20:27Go for it.
01:20:27Go for it.
01:20:28Every island now seems equidistant, so everything seems pretty far away.
01:20:32There's no boat in sight.
01:20:34There's no piers.
01:20:35And we are just specks in the ocean.
01:20:40Guys.
01:20:41Guys.
01:20:43That's the boat.
01:20:44Yeah!
01:20:45Woo!
01:20:47Woo!
01:20:48Woo!
01:20:50We're getting out of here.
01:20:52Yeah!
01:20:53Oh, my God.
01:20:54Woo!
01:20:55Yeah!
01:20:56This is the greatest sight I've ever seen.
01:20:58I know!
01:21:00Oh, yes!
01:21:03Just chill.
01:21:04Just chill.
01:21:05Dragon's guy.
01:21:05I'm here.
01:21:07Woo!
01:21:09Dragon's guy.
01:21:10You did it!
01:21:12Oh, my God.
01:21:13Woo-hoo!
01:21:14To paddle in the ocean, I'm afraid of open water.
01:21:17To finish the 14 days, I did something that I've never done before, and I got through it,
01:21:23so I'm stronger because of it.
01:21:26But this goes out to black women everywhere.
01:21:28You guys can do anything.
01:21:30Woo!
01:21:32Woo!
01:21:33Woo!
01:21:34I'm proud of all of us.
01:21:35We did great throughout these two weeks.
01:21:37Yes.
01:21:37And we pulled through and got together.
01:21:39This experience really changed me.
01:21:41Being outdoors, I'm mostly alone, so working with all these people was like a new situation.
01:21:45It opened my eyes, ideas-wise, resource-wise, and just one hell of a memory I'll never forget.
01:21:53We did it!
01:21:55Let's go!
01:21:56Goodbye!
01:21:57We did it!
01:21:58Woo!
01:21:59Being out here on this challenge, I've proved to myself again that I can do hard things,
01:22:05that I can set my mind to something, stay disciplined, and get it done.
01:22:10Oh, God.
01:22:10I had no doubt.
01:22:11Oh!
01:22:13Oh, I could kiss all of you.
01:22:14Oh!
01:22:16I achieved a lot out here.
01:22:17All of the studying and preparation that I did, I was able to bring to fruition with little
01:22:23to nothing.
01:22:23It's a really good feeling.
01:22:25I'm really excited to see my followers check out what I've been up to.
01:22:39I did this for a younger version of me, little Jenna, who had dreams to do weird, cool, hard challenges,
01:22:48and I just can't imagine that she wouldn't be in awe of what I just did.
01:22:52There's just a new confidence in my spine, and I'm excited to bring that home.
01:22:58Woo!
01:23:01Over the course of the 14-day challenge, limited protein caused each survivalist to lose weight and muscle mass.
01:23:09But they showed the necessary skill, teamwork, and determination to raise their individual PSRs and prove to their followers they
01:23:19have what it takes to survive naked and afraid.
01:23:24Let's go!
01:23:25Let's go!
01:23:25Yay!
01:23:27We did it!
01:23:28Woo!
01:23:29We did it!
