00:00So, as we're approaching the Oscars, how are you feeling heading into the show as a nominee?
00:05I'm just very gratified, and I'm excited about it.
00:09I mean, I don't think anybody, including myself, thought that Gladys would be at the Oscars.
00:14So, I'm very, very surprised, but very happy.
00:17I recently interviewed Jason Bateman, who's here tonight, and he told me Weapons was his favorite film of the year.
00:22He watched it five times in one week.
00:24Have you heard any other reactions like that from people in Hollywood?
00:28Well, yeah, the love was kind of instantaneous for Gladys after the film opened, and it opened in August.
00:34So, word of mouth has really been helpful, and there's just, I was surprised by it.
00:40I still am, you know, but I knew people would like the film, and I thought they would dig Gladys,
00:45and I guess I'm right.
00:47You are right, and since we're celebrating actors tonight, I'm asking everyone,
00:51what job was it that made you first think, okay, acting might work out?
00:56I started out in live performance, and I started out with theater, and so, which I did when I was
01:03a kid,
01:03and I did it in school, but not professionally, and the first professional thing I got to do,
01:08I said, oh yeah, I'm in the right place.
01:11Yeah.
01:13And also, is there another film this year that you loved, or one you're rooting for, for Best Picture?
01:17Oh, I can't say that, because there's, there's so much good stuff.
01:21This, all I know is that this year has been extraordinary for films.
01:25I'm not just saying that, because I've been in one of them, but I just think the original content that's
01:30out there,
01:30and dealing with a lot of issues in different ways, yeah, I think it's good.
01:35And finally, as someone who has worked in this industry a long time,
01:38do you have a take on the Paramount Warner Brothers deal, and your thoughts on it?
01:42Oh, God, I won't give you any thoughts on it.
01:44I just want, I just want, however that works out, to just keep making films,
01:50and, and keep making original content.
01:52That's what's important.
