00:00You know, Coach, Sam Darnold just wins the Super Bowl.
00:03Are you under the belief that organizations let down quarterbacks
00:07more so than quarterbacks let down organizations?
00:10This guy went from one organization to another organization
00:14to another organization.
00:15You know, he got around really good coaching in Minnesota.
00:18Then he goes to Seattle, gets really exceptional coaching
00:21with Clint Kubiak and Mike McDaniel up there.
00:25You tell me.
00:27Coach, do you think that's a true statement,
00:30that organizations let down quarterbacks more
00:33than quarterbacks let down organizations?
00:36Totally.
00:36Yeah, totally, because they don't have patience.
00:38You know, you're drafting this young kid, first, second, or third.
00:41First of all, if you got the first, second, or third pick,
00:44your team stinks, all right?
00:46You got a lot of work to do here.
00:49And they're firing the quarterback coach or the coordinator
00:52his first three years, and all of a sudden,
00:54he's gone through three offenses, and he's a bust.
00:57That's all bullshit.
00:58You got to have patience with these young guys.
01:00Owners don't have patience anymore.
01:02They want to win right now.
01:03And thinking that drafting a quarterback number one is the answer.
01:07Well, you got to have a left tackle, a right tackle, center,
01:10and some receivers, and you got to be able to run the ball a little bit
01:13and help the damn kid out.
01:15But now organizations definitely ruin most of the quarterbacks
01:19because you don't miss on the talent, that's for sure.
01:22Coach, what do you make of, in 30 seconds here,
01:25what do you make of Fernando Mendoza?
01:28You know, against Mike Keynes, you know, he really showed a lot of grit.
01:32You know, I don't know when you look at the total skill set
01:34on what you think of him, but what do you think of Fernando Mendoza,
01:38who could potentially be the number one overall pick by the Raiders?
01:42Yeah, for me, he fits all the measurables.
01:44He's got the height, weight, speed, the arm strength, the accuracy,
01:47the bright, bright brain, those back shoulder throws he makes
01:51in clutch times, man, those are balls he throws, bro.
01:55And, you know, when he sucked it up and ran that ball in
01:57on a quarterback draw, he won a lot of guys over on toughness.
02:01I just think he's the total package right now.
02:04And he and Drake May, I think, were the guys that had all the measurables
02:08that are hard to miss on.
02:09We're going to move on.
02:09We're going to move on.
