00:05Tonight, on MonsterQuest, not all monsters emerge from the woods.
00:12Sometimes, they come from above.
00:14The men say they start furiously paddling back to shore, racing to get away from this orb.
00:19These are the chilling accounts of those who claim sightings in the skies.
00:24I hadn't seen anything like it in all of humanity.
00:27Encounters so strange, they left witnesses questioning their reality.
00:33My thoughts when I first see this thing is just absolute terror.
00:41For many centuries, people have reported strange and sometimes terrifying encounters with what they describe as monsters.
00:49Its eyes just lit up in the moon and we're like, that is nothing I've ever seen.
00:56If I try to run, I'd be dead.
00:59Now, for the first time, some are sharing their experiences.
01:04Is there a pattern to their encounters?
01:07It was just terrifying.
01:10And if so, what could it mean?
01:18The Allagash Wilderness in northern Maine is one of the most isolated areas in the country.
01:25But for decades, reports have described unexplained objects moving through these dark skies.
01:33There have been over 1,000 sightings over the last 40 years, with the first UFO reports from this area
01:40dating back to 1946.
01:45Some sightings became impossible to ignore, like a mysterious craft intruding on Loring Air Force Base in 1975.
01:55Or an alleged UFO crash across the Gulf of Maine in Shag Harbor that sent military search teams racing to
02:03the scene.
02:05But of all the alleged sightings here over the years, no story captured the world's attention more than when four
02:13college students claimed they were abducted by aliens.
02:18The press dubbed them the Allagash Four, and the men would go on to share their story in countless interviews.
02:26He had to tell their story for the first time on television.
02:29Through all of these interviews, the men all consistently tell the same story, which they say starts back in 1976.
02:41The Allagash Four, Jim and Jack Wiener, and their friends Chuck Rack and Charlie Fultz, are Boston College students who
02:50decide to spend a week camping in the Allagash Wilderness.
02:54They set up next to a large body of water called Eagle Lake.
03:05On the fourth night of the trip, the friends decide to make use of this canoe they've rented to try
03:10night fishing out on the lake.
03:18Chuck Rack claims that they were out on the water for just a short period of time before he felt
03:24this sensation of being watched.
03:29Suddenly, they see a giant ball of light just above the horizon behind them.
03:38The men claim the large orb had a, quote, rolling light effect to it, like a bright miniature sun.
03:47Chuck is holding a flashlight at this point and decides to start waving it at the orb.
03:53They all say that immediately after Chuck does this, a beam of light comes out of the orb and illuminates
04:00their canoe.
04:03Terrified, the men say they start furiously paddling back to shore, racing to get away from this orb.
04:10They can see the shore when all of a sudden, everything goes black.
04:19The men all say that the next memory that they have is standing on the shoreline, and they have no
04:26idea how they got there.
04:27They say they all estimate they were only out on the lake for about 20 minutes or so,
04:32but that when they make it back to camp, their bonfire has burned down to coals, as if they've been
04:39gone for hours.
04:40None of them can seem to account for this missing chunk of time.
04:45The guys all graduate college, they get married, start families, and they go their separate ways.
04:52But 12 years later, Jack Weiner says he starts having recurring nightmares of all four men being trapped in a
04:59sterile room,
05:00surrounded by strange beings with, quote,
05:03long necks, large heads, and metallic glowing eyes with no lids.
05:10And that's where the story really starts to turn,
05:13because Jim tells him that he's been having the same type of nightmares,
05:17with all four men paralyzed in this room, unable to escape.
05:22Haunted by what they saw, the men set out to find answers.
05:27Jim spearheads an effort to get to the bottom of what happened.
05:30He says he eventually reaches out to a researcher named Ray Fowler.
05:34Ray Fowler is an author who is widely regarded as an expert on the subject of alien encounters.
05:41His experience and expertise began when he was a lead investigator on a project for the National Investigative Committee for
05:47Aerial Phenomenon.
05:50Ray Fowler suggests the men go under hypnosis separately.
05:54And in each individual session, all four end up describing similar experiences.
06:02In Jim's session, he says they're trapped in this room, and none of them know what to do.
06:07He's stuck on this gurney and sees these beings approaching him.
06:13Says he feels scared and also angry, like they shouldn't be doing this, he recalls.
06:17But he claims he's helpless to move.
06:21In Jack's account, he says, they're right there.
06:25Their faces are right in my face.
06:28Like Jim, he can't move.
06:31Charlie describes the room they're trapped in like a doctor's office.
06:34He recalls the beings putting a panel over his chest,
06:37and that while he was restrained, they scraped his arms and legs.
06:42He just kept thinking, quote, we shouldn't be here.
06:45I want to be back on the canoe, end quote.
06:48Charlie says Chuck has his head way back, like he's in pain, but they're unable to help him.
06:54All they can do is watch.
07:00Ray Fowler goes on to publish a book about the Allagash Sessions in 1993,
07:06bringing more public attention to the story.
07:09But with attention comes scrutiny.
07:14After the men make the rounds on several talk shows,
07:17many skeptics say it's either all a hoax
07:19or that maybe the memories had been implanted due to the hypnosis.
07:23But the men never waver on their stories.
07:25It didn't make any sound at all.
07:27There was no sound, totally silent.
07:30They even take polygraph tests to back up their claims.
07:33There was absolutely, positively, no doubt in my mind
07:36that they are being absolutely honest with me.
07:40To this day, the men stand by the remarkable story of their alleged abduction.
07:46And they're far from the only ones who claim to have seen something strange in the skies
07:51or taken great pains to understand it.
07:55Hundreds of miles south, one man would soon find himself among them.
08:02On the southern tip of the Appalachian mountain range sits the small town of Fife, Alabama.
08:09In 1989, more than 50 of the town's residents, including the police chief,
08:15report a massive triangular craft hovering in the skies.
08:21The bizarre incident hits the news and catapults Fife into the national spotlight.
08:27The Fife sighting become one of the most well-documented mass sightings of a UFO in the American South.
08:33After the story comes out, the U.S. military suggests that the low-flying, silent craft people saw that night
08:40might have been helicopters flying in formation.
08:43But of the 50-plus people who spotted the unusual object, not a single one reported rotor noise.
08:52One of the defining characteristics that the witnesses said they saw,
08:55really one of the main things that convinced them these objects were not man-made,
08:59is that they could hover in the sky completely silently.
09:03Jim Powell is one of many Fife locals who grows up hearing about the town's famous UFO sighting.
09:10For him, the story hits closer to home.
09:17When all this was kind of in its height going on, my father-in-law, he saw a light out
09:21in the field.
09:25So he starts walking up to this thing.
09:28When he gets close, he says that a beam of light shoots out, hits him in the forehead.
09:36That is the last thing that he remembers.
09:38He remembers waking up that morning in the middle of his field with nothing around him.
09:45And he's just scared out of his mind.
09:51The alleged incident with Jim's father-in-law happens just miles from where Jim lives with his wife.
09:58He becomes fascinated by a dangerous idea, recreating his father-in-law's encounter.
10:06I mean, yeah, I love a good mystery.
10:09You know, this is the biggest mystery of them all.
10:12I wanted my own experience with it.
10:16Through his research, he discovers an app claiming to make telepathic communication possible.
10:23With the app, it was basically like a guided meditation video.
10:26You're basically just clearing your mind, and you're trying to project your consciousness out
10:31to the point where it feels like you're no longer in your body.
10:35I was very skeptical of it.
10:37I have an aversion to anything that sounds new-agey, crystals and stuff like that.
10:43But yet, got nothing else to do.
10:45Let's try it.
10:48It's a decision he'll soon come to regret.
10:52I didn't know it would be the biggest mistake of my life.
10:59In 2014, 25 years after his small town is allegedly visited by a mysterious object in the skies,
11:08Jim Powell is trying to engineer his own close encounter using a meditation app.
11:15The first night when I try this meditation, I felt like I was able to travel like a rocket out
11:20there
11:20into the blackness of space.
11:24And eventually, I come into contact with a very large-looking creature.
11:31It was eight foot tall or so, pitch black skin.
11:36Eventually, I'll just pass out.
11:38And when I woke up, it's like, wow, that was super interesting.
11:41But, like, how do I know that's not my own brain?
11:44Like, how do I know that I just didn't create that in my own imagination?
11:49Like, interesting, yes.
11:51Anything to it?
11:53Probably not.
11:54So I was like, I don't think I want to do this anymore.
11:57So the next night, we had climbed in bed, and we're pretty much asleep almost instantly.
12:03We both had a long day.
12:04We're both tired.
12:05We're just out.
12:06And we're asleep until probably 2.30 in the morning.
12:11And that's when things start to get a little bit different.
12:14Jim and his wife are awakened by a shrill sound coming from outside their bedroom window.
12:22It sounds kind of like maybe two critters fighting.
12:27It's just roars and screeches just right there.
12:32I mean, it's just crazy sounding.
12:44I had an Australian shepherd.
12:46Her name was Amaya.
12:47Her favorite thing to do really was to go outside at night and kill little woodland creatures.
12:54So I get up, and I go outside.
12:58And I'm expecting the dog to have, like, something pinned right there at the window and just shaking it or
13:04something.
13:04But when I look out there, there's nothing.
13:16Like, okay, that's weird.
13:19So I'm going around the house.
13:22I'm hollering at the dog.
13:23Amaya, come.
13:26There's no dog anywhere.
13:30Amaya, come.
13:31I don't hear the jingling of her collar for her to, like, be running to me.
13:35Nothing.
13:36Amaya.
13:37I walk around the yard a little bit, go and inspect the barn.
13:41I'm just like, I don't know.
13:43I don't know where the dog is.
13:45This is not normal for her.
13:47But it's an ungodly hour of the night, and I'm tired, so I'll figure it out in the morning.
13:54So I'm going back towards the house.
13:57I notice it's completely just silent outside.
14:03Springtime in Alabama at night, there's cicadas.
14:08There's tree frogs, bullfrogs.
14:10All kind of noise is normally happening at this time of the year, but there is nothing.
14:16It is dead silent.
14:20Then, as I'm going around the corner, I notice that there's a light in the sky, and it's just
14:29hanging there right above the tree line.
14:32It was about baseball, maybe softball size at most, and it's just hanging up there, completely
14:39silent.
14:41There's no sound from anything anywhere.
14:44And then I take the flashlight that I'm holding, and I shine up the driveway, and there is something
14:52standing in the middle of the road.
14:55It looks like a seven to eight foot tall shadow.
15:00It's like a matte black shape.
15:02It's the strangest thing that I've ever seen, and it's huge.
15:07This thing does have a large head and long neck that's maybe twice the length of a human's.
15:15The arms are very, very long.
15:20My thoughts when I first see this thing is just absolute terror.
15:26And all I can do is sit there and hold the flashlight on this thing.
15:33And then it turns its head to look at me.
15:36And then its eyes go wide, like in complete surprise.
15:41And then this thing turns and runs up the dirt road.
15:45And just a flash, boom, boom, boom, gone.
15:51I run inside the house, and I am just shaken beyond any fear that I've ever experienced.
15:57I get my large M9 pistol, and I am just standing in front of the door like this.
16:07I am scared to the point where if I hear a noise, I will unload all 17 rounds through the
16:13walls.
16:21And then there's a voice that I can hear all of a sudden, and this voice feels like it's in
16:29my head.
16:31I don't know how else to describe it.
16:33It's just an all-consuming voice.
16:35What it says to me is, if I wanted to kill you, you would already be dead.
16:44Go back to sleep now.
16:49The next thing that I know is I'm waking up.
16:54It's the next morning.
16:55My alarm clock's going off.
16:56The wife's gone.
16:57I'm by myself.
16:58I'm just freaked out.
17:00I'm like, where's it at?
17:01What just happened?
17:05That was like the biggest threat to have ever shown up in my life.
17:10And it controlled me.
17:13And I couldn't do anything about it.
17:15It was just the worst thing that I've ever experienced.
17:21After the experience, I did tell my wife about this, you know.
17:25And thankfully, she took me serious, you know.
17:28But she was also, you know, just kind of horrified about it, too.
17:31She was like, I don't want to talk about it.
17:34As far as Amaya goes, she did come back.
17:37But it wasn't until, like, three days later.
17:39This dog was covered in mud.
17:42And she was shaking like a leaf when she finally came up to me.
17:46Ever since then, she was never the same after this experience.
17:51But I don't blame her.
17:53I don't.
17:54Because if I'm being honest, neither was I.
17:58It was the biggest mistake of my life.
18:00I should have never have initiated contact with these things.
18:05I regret it.
18:12In the Cold War era, strange lights in the sky weren't just a mystery.
18:17They were a potential threat.
18:19In response, the Air Force formed Project Blue Book,
18:24a top-secret program tasked with probing the escalating flood of UFO reports.
18:31The operation's mission was to determine if UFOs posed a threat to humans
18:37and the United States' national security.
18:40But in the summer of 1955,
18:43an alleged sighting on a quiet farm in Kelly, Kentucky,
18:46would push that mission to its limits.
18:52What's reported to have happened at this tiny tobacco farm in Kelly, Kentucky
18:57is considered one of the most significant and well-documented UFO encounters in history.
19:02The case goes on to introduce the idea of little green men to popular culture.
19:08And according to director Steven Spielberg,
19:11it even inspires his blockbuster film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
19:17But for the family who lives through it,
19:20this was no work of fiction, and the fear never left them.
19:24This encounter belongs to my dad, my grandmother,
19:28and several Lansing uncles that were in the house that night in Kelly, Kentucky in 1955.
19:33I found out about it when I was eight years old.
19:37Over the years, if you got any of them to talk, the story never changed.
19:41I mean, this is something that very few people have happened to them in their lifetime.
19:46And it will go down as history.
19:50This happened on my grandmother's small farm.
19:53She owned about 27 acres.
19:56It was just a regular Sunday evening.
19:58And it just so happened my dad, his first wife,
20:01and their friends, Billy Ray and June Taylor, came in for the weekend.
20:05And they sat down to eat.
20:07And Billy Ray decides to go out to the well to get some water.
20:11So he's out there in the well, which is in the front yard.
20:15As he's standing there, he hears something, looks up toward where he hears this sound,
20:19and there's this silver oval-shaped object
20:23with what he calls the colors of the rainbow flowing behind it.
20:26And he says it was only like 30 to 40 foot above him.
20:32Scared him.
20:33It's at this point, Geraldine says that Billy Ray runs back to the house in fear,
20:38begging her dad to come outside to investigate.
20:42So they head back out to the well.
20:45Lo and behold, out from the back of the woods behind the house
20:48comes this little three-and-a-half-foot-tall figure.
20:52Big round head, arms down to the ground with very long talons.
20:57They were gray, but they glowed a luminescent glow, a greenish glow.
21:03And it's floating above the ground.
21:05The legs aren't moving.
21:07They were scared to death.
21:12So they both ran into the house, slammed the door,
21:15and they're trying to explain what they just saw.
21:19Geraldine says at this point,
21:21her grandmother goes outside to check for herself.
21:25All of a sudden, she screams.
21:28Everybody hears.
21:29They come out there, and she tells them, says,
21:32I saw it.
21:33There is something out here.
21:36About that time, they hear a shot ring out in front of the house.
21:40Geraldine says this is when her uncle
21:42shot one of the beings through the front window.
21:46Dad runs out there.
21:47Somebody screams.
21:48There's one in the tree.
21:49Turns around.
21:50Sure enough, in the big maple tree,
21:52there's set one on the limb.
21:54Shoots it.
21:55It floats to the ground, rolls, scurries off into the brush.
22:01These things were not dropping at all.
22:04So they run in the house.
22:06But they are coming up to the doors and windows.
22:13So they were shooting these things through the screens.
22:16They were trapped in this house, and they didn't know what to do.
22:19They didn't have a radio or any other communication.
22:22They have no phone.
22:23My dad finally tells them, the only thing we can do is try to get to Hopkinsville,
22:28which was seven miles from their house, and get to the police and see if we can get help.
22:34It gets quiet.
22:35So he's thinking, let's go.
22:45They pull up, and they run into the police department.
22:48One little officer on duty, and they're all trying to tell this crazy story.
22:52So he calls up Chief Russell Greenwell.
22:55The chief tells them, get a hold of Fort Campbell Army Base,
22:58get a hold of the paper, call every state trooper you can find.
23:03By the time it's all sitting down, they've got about 25 people
23:06heading out to Kelly in the middle of the night.
23:13In 1955, the Sutton family in Kelly, Kentucky,
23:17claims their farm has been overrun by little green men from another world.
23:24In the aftermath, according to direct descendant Geraldine Steth,
23:29they brace for a different kind of invasion.
23:34The police get there.
23:37They get out of their vehicles.
23:40There's shotgun and rifle shells all over the yard.
23:43Shotgun and rifle shells inside the house.
23:46Woodwork and screens are shot up inside the house.
23:50They searched and searched.
23:53No bodies.
23:55No blood.
23:56No kind of fur or feathers or anything,
23:58saying it was any kind of animal.
24:00So Chief goes up to my grandmother and says,
24:02Miss Glennie, I am so sorry, but there's nothing here.
24:05There's nothing we can do.
24:07So they all left.
24:10Geraldine says the next morning,
24:12her father swears the family to secrecy,
24:15hoping to shield them from public ridicule.
24:18Their story might have ended there,
24:20if not for what happened next.
24:23All of a sudden,
24:24my grandmother heard this commotion out in the front yard.
24:27There's car after car after vehicle after vehicle,
24:30pulling up in their driveway,
24:31pulling up down the road,
24:32jumping out,
24:33putting up tents,
24:34putting up tables.
24:36Word had gotten out.
24:37It was everywhere.
24:38Everybody was coming because they were wanting to see the little men.
24:42It was big news.
24:44Put down is the top story of the community in 1955.
24:48In the home of Cecil Lucky Sutton.
24:51All right,
24:51now let's go back to the beginning.
24:53Yeah,
24:53now you said a spaceship.
24:55It spread like wildfire.
24:57Bud Ludwith came in,
24:59and he was the engineer that worked at the local radio station there in Hopkinsville.
25:04He wanted a story,
25:05so he went in there to interview everybody,
25:08and he set them down off in a room by themselves,
25:10individually,
25:11and got them to tell their story,
25:13and he was like blown away,
25:15because everybody's story,
25:17it was the same.
25:19And what really blew them away was the drawings.
25:23My grandmother,
25:24Billy Ray,
25:25my dad,
25:26he sat down with every one of them,
25:28and hardly any differences about any of them.
25:32That's where you get the infamous drawings to this day.
25:39Later on,
25:40it was reported that the evening that the encounter happened,
25:44there were state troopers
25:46that actually seen whites they couldn't explain.
25:49And so,
25:50yeah,
25:51there were other people seeing and hearing things that evening.
25:55In the days after the alleged encounter,
25:58the U.S. Air Force,
25:59including their classified UFO research unit,
26:02Project Blue Book,
26:04reviews the state police findings.
26:06They searched the grounds.
26:08They had aircraft in the air that morning after,
26:12and the next day.
26:14The results are inconclusive.
26:16No proof of visitors,
26:18but also no evidence of a hoax.
26:20The case is left officially unresolved.
26:24Two weeks after this event happened,
26:27my grandmother sold the farm.
26:29She was scared to death.
26:31Is it hard to believe things like this can happen?
26:33Yes.
26:34But my family knows the truth.
26:36Something happened in Kelly, Kentucky.
26:38August 21st, 1955, there's no doubt.
26:42The little green men of Kelly, Kentucky,
26:45were seen once and never again.
26:47But two decades later,
26:49in Arizona,
26:50come stories of unidentified aircraft
26:52returning again and again.
26:58Among the state's reports of UFOs,
27:00there was one case
27:01that would capture the world's attention.
27:04According to other members
27:05of the six-man logging crew,
27:07on November 5th, 1975,
27:09Travis Walton disappeared
27:10shortly after he was struck in the chest
27:12by a beam of light,
27:13which they said lifted him off the ground
27:15like a rag doll.
27:19Travis's disappearance
27:20kicks off the largest manhunt
27:23in Arizona history.
27:24But they find nothing.
27:27No footprints,
27:28no clothes,
27:28no blood,
27:30nothing.
27:31Then,
27:32five days later,
27:33and 15 miles from where he vanished,
27:35he suddenly emerges.
27:37And he says,
27:38they're still out there.
27:40One of the guys in the back
27:41yelled out,
27:42it's a spaceship.
27:43Travis claims he's been abducted
27:45and examined on an alien craft.
27:47Although he passes a lie detector test,
27:49the validity of his story
27:51is still debated.
27:54Travis Walton's story
27:55remains one of the most
27:57harrowing alien abduction claims
27:59ever recorded.
28:02Nearly 50 years later,
28:04in the same state,
28:05a police officer retires to Arizona
28:07with his wife
28:08and would make a similar claim,
28:11wearing the evidence on his skin.
28:14Most of our nights
28:16are just enjoying
28:17each other's company.
28:19We go outside,
28:20watch the stars,
28:22listen to the coyotes
28:23howling.
28:24Typical Old West retirement,
28:26I guess.
28:27But that all changes
28:29in the spring of 2022.
28:31One day,
28:32I woke up and had
28:33many,
28:35many marks
28:36on my foot.
28:39And the next morning
28:41when I woke up,
28:42they were
28:43completely
28:44gone.
28:45We were like,
28:46that's weird.
28:48A few weeks later,
28:50he has another
28:51strange experience.
28:53That evening
28:53was very
28:54typical.
28:55We ate dinner,
28:56we sat down,
28:57watched a movie,
28:59and then we went
29:00to bed,
29:01I believe,
29:01around 9.30.
29:03That's when
29:05it happened.
29:08I was
29:09woken up
29:10by the feeling
29:12of being
29:12dropped
29:13on my bed.
29:16When I opened
29:17my eyes,
29:20it was
29:21unbelievable.
29:25Weeks after
29:26finding strange
29:27marks on his
29:28body,
29:29retired police
29:30officer Dwight
29:31Howell goes
29:32to bed,
29:32then opens
29:33his eyes
29:34to the impossible.
29:35I saw
29:36three glowing
29:38beings standing
29:39next to my bed.
29:41They were a
29:42shining gold.
29:44They were
29:44actually emitting
29:45this light
29:46from them.
29:47As Dwight
29:49grapples to
29:49understand what
29:50he's seeing,
29:51they fade out
29:52of sight.
29:56I sat there
29:57trying to
29:58figure out
29:58what did I
29:59just see?
30:00Was this
30:00real?
30:01My police
30:02officer
30:03training was
30:04kicking in,
30:04saying,
30:05all right,
30:05come on,
30:06remember all
30:06the details
30:07before you
30:07basically pass
30:08back out.
30:09It was almost
30:11like coming
30:12out of anesthesia.
30:13I couldn't
30:14keep my eyes
30:15open,
30:16and I fell
30:18back asleep.
30:23I woke up
30:24the next morning.
30:25My wife had
30:25already gotten
30:26up.
30:27I went up
30:28to her
30:28and said,
30:29honey,
30:30I have
30:30something to
30:31tell you,
30:31and I need
30:32you to keep
30:32an open
30:32mind.
30:34And I
30:35told her
30:36what happened.
30:39And she
30:40believed me
30:40right away.
30:43I think one
30:44of the first
30:44things she
30:44said to me
30:45was,
30:45do you
30:45have any
30:46marks?
30:46And I
30:47was like,
30:47marks,
30:48right?
30:49So we
30:50started looking
30:50at everything
30:51else,
30:51and that's
30:52when I
30:52saw I
30:53had three
30:54red dots
30:55in a
30:56triangular
30:56shape.
30:57Dwight's
30:57markings are
30:58similar to
30:59those of
30:59others who
31:00claimed to
31:00be abducted.
31:01Throughout
31:02the 1980s
31:03and 1990s,
31:04UFO researcher
31:05Bud Hopkins
31:05documented many,
31:07many abductees
31:08who all had
31:09this three-dot
31:10cluster appear
31:11on their
31:12bodies that
31:13made the
31:13shape of a
31:13triangle.
31:14And he
31:14speculates
31:15that these
31:16marks may
31:16have been
31:17the result
31:17of a
31:18medical-like
31:19device.
31:21But in
31:22Dwight's
31:22encounter,
31:23he noticeably
31:24has no
31:25memories from
31:26before he
31:27dropped onto
31:28the bed.
31:28There was a
31:29lot of
31:29questions to
31:30be answered.
31:31You know,
31:31let's get the
31:32facts here.
31:33Did it really
31:33happen?
31:35So my
31:36wife decided
31:37that it
31:38might be a
31:39good idea
31:39for me to
31:40see a
31:40hypnotherapist.
31:43And I
31:46begrudgingly
31:47agreed.
31:48The therapist
31:49puts Dwight
31:50under and
31:51records the
31:52session.
31:53So now I'm
31:54going to ask
31:55you to
31:55try to
31:57visualize
31:57that you
31:58are in your
31:59bedroom.
32:00Reach to
32:01your subconscious
32:02mind and
32:03ask it
32:03to show you
32:05what you
32:06want to see.
32:08I think I
32:09see them
32:10now.
32:14There I
32:15go.
32:17Big black
32:18eyes.
32:21I feel
32:22that was
32:22scary.
32:25I started
32:25remembering
32:26what I saw.
32:28They put me
32:29on a table.
32:31Their eyes
32:33were huge,
32:34just blacker
32:36than any
32:37black I
32:37have ever
32:38seen.
32:38They almost
32:39looked liquid.
32:41They pulled
32:42this, and
32:43the best way
32:43I can describe
32:44it is a
32:44gel blanket,
32:46and it had
32:47wires or
32:49fibers going
32:50through it.
32:51And they
32:52put this
32:53blanket over
32:53me and
32:54melted
32:55completely
32:56over my
32:56face.
32:57Every place
32:57it was
32:58touching it
32:58just conformed
32:59to it.
33:03As I'm
33:04laying there,
33:05little
33:05low-voltage
33:07feelings would
33:08go through
33:09the blanket
33:09into me.
33:10And every
33:11time that
33:12that would
33:12shock me,
33:13I heard
33:14in my
33:15head,
33:15how do
33:16you feel?
33:18But this
33:19went on
33:19for a little
33:20while,
33:21and they
33:21took the
33:22blanket off.
33:23I got off
33:24the table,
33:24and the one
33:26on my
33:27left side
33:28took his
33:29finger and
33:29just tapped
33:30a spot
33:31on my
33:32arm.
33:38and all
33:39of a sudden
33:39I was
33:40in my
33:40room on
33:41my bed
33:42looking at
33:43him.
33:45And that's
33:46where the
33:46memory ended.
33:48After I
33:49came up
33:49out of
33:50this
33:50hypnosis,
33:51the first
33:52thing I
33:52remember
33:53asking the
33:53therapist
33:54was,
33:55could it
33:56have been
33:56a dream?
33:57She looked
33:58at me
33:58dead in
33:59the eyes
33:59and she
33:59said,
34:00Dwight,
34:00where I
34:00had you,
34:02there is
34:02no way
34:04that that
34:05could have
34:05been anything
34:06other than
34:07a repressed
34:08memory.
34:08I wasn't
34:09losing my
34:09mind.
34:10I wasn't
34:11just seeing
34:12things.
34:12This really
34:13happened.
34:22Oregon is
34:23famous among
34:24stargazers for
34:25its lack of
34:26light pollution,
34:28making the
34:29state a
34:29favorite for
34:30those seeking
34:31a clear,
34:32unobstructed
34:32view of the
34:33night sky.
34:34But those
34:35same skies
34:36have long
34:37been a
34:37stage for
34:38unexplained
34:39sightings.
34:42There's this
34:42agency that
34:44tracks UFO
34:44sightings.
34:45It's called
34:46the National
34:46UFO Reporting
34:48Center.
34:48Since 1974,
34:50there have
34:51been over
34:513,600 such
34:53sightings in
34:54Oregon.
34:55The stories
34:56are remarkably
34:57similar.
34:58Metallic
34:58discs seen
34:59by police
35:00and civilians
35:01over Portland.
35:02Glowing lights
35:03hovering near
35:04Mount Hood
35:04reported by
35:05pilots.
35:06And a glowing
35:07object above
35:08Redmond that
35:09prompted the
35:10Air Force to
35:11scramble jets.
35:13Among the
35:14most famous
35:14occurs in
35:151950, when
35:17farmers Paul
35:18and Evelyn
35:18Trent photograph
35:19a flying saucer
35:21hovering over
35:21their farm in
35:22the town of
35:23McMinnville.
35:25The images
35:26that Paul and
35:27Evelyn captured
35:28were published
35:29in Life
35:29magazine, and
35:30this created a
35:31huge sensation.
35:33Of course, there
35:34were also
35:34skeptics, but
35:35the thing is, no
35:36one could ever
35:37prove conclusively
35:38that those
35:38photographs had
35:39been doctored
35:40in any way.
35:42The skeptics
35:43held on to
35:43their doubts,
35:45but not
35:46Anne Selene.
35:50Decades
35:50later, at
35:51her apartment
35:52complex in
35:53Tigard, Oregon,
35:54just 30 minutes
35:55from the site
35:56of the Trent's
35:57farm, Anne
35:58captures a
35:59shocking image.
36:01I am the
36:01writer.
36:02I grew up in
36:03the Pacific
36:03Northwest.
36:08I loved
36:09night, so I
36:11would sit out
36:11on the patio,
36:12and I would
36:12really contemplate
36:14what it was
36:14that I wanted
36:15to write about.
36:17One night,
36:19Anne notices
36:19something moving
36:20outside her
36:21building.
36:22And it was
36:23actually from
36:24my peripheral
36:25that movement
36:27caught my eye.
36:29When I looked
36:31over, the
36:32movement that
36:33I saw was
36:34smoke.
36:37And it was
36:38just this
36:39really big
36:40cloud, like
36:41an opalescent
36:42fog, but
36:43thick.
36:45I was
36:46thinking, gosh,
36:47maybe somebody
36:48had been vaping
36:49and there was
36:49this huge
36:50cloud, but
36:51there was
36:52no person.
36:54This circular,
36:56cloud-like
36:56form contracted
36:58into a shape
37:00that very
37:01clearly became
37:02this humanoid-
37:03looking figure.
37:05It looks just
37:06like us.
37:07It walks
37:08just like us.
37:09It had two arms
37:11and two legs,
37:12the pointed
37:13chin,
37:15really big
37:16eyes,
37:17this strange
37:18shaped skull.
37:19There was no
37:20hair, no
37:21clothing.
37:22I hadn't seen
37:23anything like it
37:24in all of
37:25humanity.
37:26It was looking
37:28straight ahead.
37:30And there
37:31was no inclination
37:32that it had any
37:33idea that I was
37:34there.
37:35It was walking
37:36down this
37:37pathway on the
37:39other side of the
37:40white picket fence.
37:42It walked up
37:43to the third
37:43tree, and then
37:46it was completely
37:47gone.
37:49In that moment,
37:50I froze.
37:52If I turn around,
37:53will it be
37:54standing there?
37:55Can I get
37:56inside my house?
37:57But then the
37:58very next thought
37:59that actually broke
38:00me out of my
38:01freeze mode is
38:01the children.
38:04Anne races
38:05back inside.
38:08When I walked
38:08into the kids' room,
38:12everything was
38:13fine.
38:14And I did
38:16smile at the
38:16kids to try to
38:17reaffirm that
38:18everything was
38:19fine.
38:20I hoped that
38:22maybe I could
38:24protect me and
38:26my children by
38:27shutting the
38:27blinds.
38:30That is when
38:31my eye was
38:32drawn to the
38:33unit across
38:34from us.
38:37and in that
38:38moment, I
38:39froze again.
38:42I knew that
38:43that unit was
38:44vacant.
38:46I think that
38:47it's staring at
38:48me.
38:51Without a shadow
38:52of a doubt, it
38:52was the exact
38:53same humanoid-looking
38:55figure that I had
38:56watched walk down
38:57the sidewalk.
39:00And now, here it
39:01was on the second
39:02floor in a vacant
39:03apartment.
39:06That just
39:07brought me to
39:08absolute tears.
39:11Here was this
39:12complete unknown.
39:14If it can manifest
39:15out of anywhere,
39:16could it manifest in
39:17my home?
39:18If it did manifest in
39:20my home, what would
39:21it do?
39:22I shut the
39:23blinds on the
39:24living room door.
39:26And then I went
39:27into my room, and
39:28I shut those
39:29blinds.
39:30I'm locking
39:31everything out.
39:33I called my
39:35sister.
39:35She knew
39:36immediately that
39:37something was
39:37wrong.
39:41My sister said,
39:43can you take a
39:43picture?
39:44And I said, I
39:45don't know, I'll
39:46try.
39:46She told me to
39:47breathe.
39:48She told me to
39:49relax.
39:49She said, just
39:50have your hand on
39:51the blind, lift the
39:52phone up with me
39:53on speakerphone, hit
39:55the button, and
39:56then just release
39:56the blind.
39:57I took a picture.
40:03And it was a
40:04shock.
40:07I said, does it
40:08look like it can
40:09see me in this
40:11photograph?
40:12I think that it's
40:13staring at me.
40:16She agreed, and it
40:18really felt ominous.
40:19It really felt like in
40:20the photo, it was
40:21saying, I did see
40:23you.
40:26I stayed up most of
40:28that night, all the
40:29lights on in the
40:30house.
40:31Anne's photo is of
40:33something she can
40:34never begin to
40:35explain.
40:36From a terror-filled
40:37night she will never
40:39forget.
40:40So when you have a
40:41picture that you can
40:43show other people and
40:44say nothing, but what
40:46do you see, what do you
40:48see?
40:48And everybody comes
40:49back with the same
40:50thing that you see
40:52that's very powerful.
40:54It shakes your reality.
40:56The subject of her
40:57photo, whatever it might
40:59be, never returns.
41:02Reflecting back on that
41:03night, some might say
41:05that it was an alien or
41:08something along those
41:09lines.
41:12I think that it's an
41:14internal battle that I
41:15deal with between
41:16wanting to know what it
41:17was and not wanting to
41:19know, because it really
41:21changes the perception of
41:23safety.
41:26We may not truly know
41:28what's out there in our
41:29skies, but every claim,
41:32every reported encounter,
41:34keeps our search for
41:35answers alive.
