00:03oh i'm emotionally drained as of right now i'm screwed on this episode of mine rescue get up
00:12here a desperate gold miner finds his dreams of riches slipping away we got 0.2 of an ounce
00:20it's unsustainable to keep going at that rate as his greenhorn family in reality i have no
00:26idea what i'm doing struggles to mine while he juggles two jobs to survive jared does shift work
00:34to help fund this so that we can stay out here it's a lot of stress for him
00:41and the clock is ticking for freddie and juan the forest fire ripped through here and destroyed
00:46everything in its path we don't work on hot days because of the risks of fire but that is costing
00:51us money as one of the worst wildfire seasons on record threatens to shut them down
00:58we don't get anything back i don't know what we're gonna do zero
01:05i'm hopeful that freddie and juan can help us
01:16i may go check with the fire department to see what the fire restrictions are over the past
01:20couple years i guess there's been a massive amount of fires in this area see you a little later then
01:26see you in a bit in the dense caribou mountain forests of british columbia freddie and juan receive a
01:34desperate sos from the wildfire ravaged gainert family mine a location that will soon prove to be
01:43one of their most challenging to date
01:51i'm going to meet with cheryl ray and jamie from the sounds of it they've been having a little bit
01:56of a struggle out here they have sunk every last dollar that they have into this operation so
02:01really it's kind of sinker slim how you doing you must be jamie hi i am juan nice to meet
02:08you
02:08juan nice to meet you as well hi ray nice to meet you right i'm juan i'm cheryl cheryl how
02:13you guys
02:13doing oh good better now yeah better now that you're on site so freddie's not here right now he's uh
02:20just
02:20a couple hours behind me he went to go check with the fire chief to make sure we're okay to
02:23do the work
02:24we got to do here right so is this the whole crew ah my husband jared is missing in action
02:29he had to go
02:30back to work okay in alberta so that we could be out here to mine um but he will be
02:36back tomorrow
02:38inspired by what they saw on gold rush the gay nerds began their mining venture 10 years ago
02:45jared and i took our kids out camping and we did some prospecting we were hooked over the next few
02:52years they ran a series of small operations as we've gotten more into it and we got more equipment
03:00we're trying to have a serious go at it but in 2024 an opportunity arose at a larger claim
03:08when wildfires drove out the previous miners it was just so devastating to them that that they
03:13weren't able to come back we had heard the old timers were getting about an ounce per 20 yards
03:20but the gold never materialized since we've been out here we've seen roughly 0.2 of an ounce it's not
03:28really adding up to pay the bills jared and his stepfather ray have been forced to take second
03:35jobs leaving the mining to his inexperienced family i get six days off and i'll spend two days of that
03:43six driving and then i get to spend four days uh the claim mining and then rinse repeat ultimately our
03:51goal
03:51would be to have everybody in the family out here full time but uh with jared and ray having to
03:57work
03:57this season the rest of us have to step up and be more hands-on with helping out at the
04:02mine in
04:03reality i have no idea what i'm doing i'm i'm i'm just trying my best do you have any of
04:09the gold that
04:10came out of this area i do i have some gold that we found okay well it's pretty chunky stuff
04:15yeah some
04:16fines in there do you guys have a goal for what you want to be able to produce here uh
04:21yeah if if we
04:22could get half an ounce a day if even 50 ounces if we could get this season to recover some
04:27costs
04:28well the reality is you're running out of time to go out there and hit your target i want to
04:32do a
04:32four-hour test run let's get some material through it and uh see what we got great all right let's
04:37do it
04:37all right carrie i assume freddie i appreciate your time this morning okay well it's super high
04:47risk if you take a look at the forest like you can look at any of the areas around our
04:51forest is
04:51like standing firewood right the 2025 wildfire season is already canada's second worst on record
05:00with nearly 1300 fires having scorched british columbia alone 40 of wildfires in bc are caused
05:10by human error so one mistake can risk lives and livelihoods in an instant are there any fire
05:18restrictions right now not right now but when you guys are out if you're grinding welding just know the
05:24risks yeah water is your best friend get the trees limbed up as high as you can reach 10 feet
05:29or higher
05:29because if a fire does come through it just stays on the ground and it just rages through
05:33well thank you for your time thanks so much for coming by
05:38okay well let's do it back on the gainert mine the first two-hour test run begins
05:56first bucket
05:58ray loads pay dirt into the four-foot hopper that feeds a 10-foot trommel which washes pay into an
06:0718-foot
06:08sluice box below where the gold should be recovered we can't continue running like this
06:14it's costing us more money um than than what we're getting in return
06:30no everything just plugged up solid all the materials stuck in there that's not good
06:45the material gets stuck in the hopper so they're having to sit up there and wash it all down manually
06:50so it's not a very efficient way to run the stakes at the gainert mine are shared by the entire
06:57family
06:57so we don't know if it's running well or running terrible or what we need to make it better
07:04jared's parents ray and cheryl invested 100 000 of their own money into the operation
07:11well we sold our house in alberta came out here we spent that money put it all into the mine
07:16and really haven't got anything out of it yet we're old enough to retire now but we can't retire
07:21we've got a mortgage now every weekend i get in the summer time i'm back here the rest of the
07:27time i'm
07:27at my other job driving trucks this is going to be our last chance out here our last kick at
07:33the cat
07:42let's take a look inside the drop
07:50there's not enough water pressure to be able to wash the pay down into the trommel
07:53because there's actually holes in the spray bar where it's pushing water out the side
08:04that switch it's way too violent has way too much water
08:20i'm gonna do a little panning i just want to check the material that they're bringing to the plant
08:24you know honestly it doesn't look that special to me but i just want to take a look see what's
08:29in there
08:33not even a piece of gold not even one speck
08:36i'm worried that the material that he's pulling out isn't really pay
08:49what is he doing i don't know what are you doing
08:53what are you doing we gotta get off
09:12shut down on you yeah why don't we just go ahead and call it it's been about an hour
09:17yeah we could shut it out
09:21i think we shut it down right now we'll regroup and figure out what we can do
09:30let's pull it out
09:33right now i am feeling a little bit disappointed yeah you bet
09:38our test didn't go as smooth as we had hoped but i'm still hopeful i have to go to my
09:44full-time job
09:45i won't be back here for five days and i'm hoping that this could possibly be my full-time job
09:52but
09:52right now you have to pay the bills minors in general are kind of uh hopeful and you know gambling
09:59type but sometimes we need to give them tough love coming into a mine site where everything has an issue
10:04it's frustrating there were safety issues the pay doesn't look great and honestly the plant's not
10:09running good either coming up two or three part-time jobs to pay for your gold mining it's unsustainable
10:18i'm going all in it's now or never that was a road let's see what lives right here holy moly
10:38guano later that afternoon at the gay nerds caribou mine we'll see what's going on let's go check it
10:44out freddie arrives for the cleanup hello ladies hello the mine crew is now down to jamie and mother-in
10:53-law
10:53cheryl this is freddie freddie cheryl and jamie how's it going there great to meet you hi nice
10:59to meet you jamie yes we're sure glad you're here how's the cleanup going going good i'm done well
11:06let's get it weighed up well here we go freddie yeah moment of truth the gay nerds need at least
11:14point zero six ounces from the test run to hit their half ounce per day goal
11:22point zero two less than a third of what they need per day that's pretty sad it's it's sad maybe
11:32it's
11:32lucky you broke at one hour because every hour you're running you're throwing money away yeah right
11:37and we don't want that well what we want to do is we're going to go back put our heads
11:40together and
11:40come up with a plan for you guys thanks freddie and juan you're welcome i'm a little worried now
11:46after seeing the amount of gold it's unsustainable to keep going at that rate you know you'd have to
11:51get two or three part-time jobs to pay for your gold mining it's not good to see that it's
11:56costing
11:57us more money to get that gold out of the ground than the pay so i don't have a gold
12:01mine budget anymore
12:07it's gone so what's the deal with the bucket being in the hopper the machine broke down
12:12so we weren't able to finish the test run driving in here it looked like there's a lot of equipment
12:17that might not run i don't think any of it runs ready so one of the things i'm really worried
12:21about
12:21we got to get a machine coming out here because we have to do prospecting because the material they
12:25brought to the plant was absolute garbage the hopper is another issue and it should be feeding
12:31itself instead of someone up there babysitting it and the sluice is completely inadequate it's too
12:35narrow it needs to be a foot wider how'd the spray bar do one not good freddie there's actually holes
12:41in the spray bar where it's actually pushing water out the side of the the trauma there's safety issues
12:44that i want to address like the stairs going up yeah okay really all this is for naught unless we
12:49can
12:50find some material that's worth running exactly right that'll be my first goal all right
12:55to transform the mine into a profitable operation a three inch water jet will be mounted at the back
13:03of the hopper to break up the pay and drive it into the trommel then inside the drum a new
13:10spray bar will
13:12be added to the existing thread to wash gold bearing material into the sluice and finally the sluice box will
13:20be widened an extra 12 inches to boost capacity by 50 percent
13:38hi dear after a 600 mile drive from the oil fields jamie's husband jared returns to the mine
13:47morning baby hi baby i missed you i missed you how's it going um it's it's not looking good
14:00i hope they can help i got into gold mining 10 or 11 years ago just because it looked really
14:07cool
14:07watching gold rush we went out to this old fella's claim on the fraser river first we had a pan
14:14and we
14:14panned it and my eyes lit up oh man look at that that's when gold fever sunk in it's a
14:21real thing
14:22but mining is amazingly expensive and things are pretty tight i can't continue pouring money in
14:28every year it's now or never how we doing hi guys how you doing good i'm juan jared nice to
14:37meet you
14:37jared ready pretty nice to meet you nice to meet you jared well we put our heads together you know
14:42we came up with a few ideas for the plant one of the first things that we want to do
14:45is we focus on
14:45that hopper we're going to put a jet in the back so that material can get fed down into the
14:49trommel
14:50inside the trommel itself put a whole new spray bar in there then we want to uh build a new
14:54sluice box
14:55okay the intention is we're going to actually run a little more material when we have that spray bar
14:59in the back of the hopper and in order to do so we've got to have that wider box okay
15:03yeah i need
15:04to go prospect on this yeah because everything i see here is tailings yeah so we're thinking five
15:11thousand dollars in materials but the excavators that you have here none of them are up to par we
15:17found somebody that had an excavator that we could borrow for a few days um but we have to pay
15:21for
15:22transport and that'll be about three thousand dollars okay so um all in it's going to be eight
15:27thousand that's a lot of money i know uh i think we can do that well deal then deal let's
15:39do it i
15:39appreciate it guys yeah no worries freddie you're welcome you're very welcome thanks juan very
15:43welcome that was pretty awesome meeting freddie and one i was giddy like a school girl eight
15:51thousand is a pretty big hit but i don't see i have much of a choice to do it i
15:55if i want to continue
15:56i have to do this
15:57i wonder if uh we can figure out why the ignition stopped working to help get the mine on track
16:12am i pulling on it yeah that's the one you're pulling on jared's called in his mechanic brother
16:17sandy to work on their stricken excavator i'm gonna be here on the mine helping jared get some of these
16:23machines running as best i can pull that at wire again with all the time and money that jared's put
16:29into this i would just really love to see it succeed i think that goes to the starter okay go
16:36turn the key
16:37okay ready
16:51hey thank you guys next juan spots a fault with one of the other excavators
16:59you're pin on your cylinder for your buckets actually ready to come out so the pin itself
17:04has this little plate that holds the pin in place it's broke off so we can uh knock that pin
17:10back where
17:11it needs to be and get on
17:15it's extremely important that this excavator works correctly uh without it there's no mining so it's
17:22got to be tough for you to work a full week in the oil field and come out here and
17:26work at the mine
17:27site huh all that travel all that time and 2 000 kilometers a week and then trying to forget about
17:35the stresses out here so i can focus on my job at work and jamie you know the first day
17:40that we did a
17:41test run it was kind of cool to see her that she actually just jumped right in there wanted to
17:44be a
17:44part of it yeah we had up to 300 head of goats at one time that's a lot of work
17:49and she'd be in there
17:50wrestling goats with me holding them down so we can give them injections and yeah jamie's always been
17:55been one to give her so yeah once she knows how to do it she's gonna give it 100 and
17:59she'll probably
18:00really excel at it too i'm sure you know at the end of the day you know if you can
18:04enjoy your time
18:05with your family and i think a lot of people would kind of strive to try to do that one
18:08day right
18:08you're that close to doing it you know yeah we are weird you're that close well let's uh let's
18:13finish this up huh yeah sounds good to me let me try to open this up just a little more
18:24ah pop right in there's some good news that's good thanks one
18:35so hose on and then pass you the hose yeah excavators fixed
18:39one begins work on the wash plant's new water chute i cut a hole right here we're going to put
18:45that jet on the back of the hopper and we'll put a diverter plate so it was going to wash
18:49all that
18:49material down into the trommel go towards you a little bit toward us come out a bit yeah right there
19:09so i got the jet all done i got the deflector plate on there so now when that material piles
19:13up this will push it all into the trommel it's going to actually increase their production by a lot
19:18because now they'll be able to feed it instead of having to be up here and washing it down by
19:21hand
19:21this will do it all oh cool we got the job done but the reality is freddy and i still
19:28have a lot to do here
19:41well you want to show me where you got that pay they ran on the first test there yeah it's
19:46just up
19:46here in british columbia freddy starts his gold sleuthing at the mine's old cut so they mined right
19:53in here last year yeah i was told they were getting good sized nuggets out of it so i thought
19:58well that
19:59sounds good but there just wasn't enough we got 0.02 not enough to pay anything something was weird about
20:06that mm-hmm yeah don't trust what they told you unless you really know the people trust what your
20:13own eyes tell you okay but i can see what you were chasing there that red stuff yeah a lot
20:19of times
20:19those surface red layers are red because they are the surface gravel and they got oxygen to them which
20:25allows iron to rust right so usually your surface gravels don't carry much gold okay the rest of its
20:33tailings that's been stacked up there by somebody that was in here before in 1858 discoveries on the
20:41fraser river ignited the caribou gold rush strikes at nearby williams creek and barkerville made fortunes
20:49with over 3.8 million ounces worth over 12 billion dollars in today's money old timers say the claim
20:57jared is working produced more than 1800 ounces of gold in the 90s valued today at over six million
21:05dollars one way to tell your entailings is there's no rhyme or reason to the rocks virgin material that
21:13got laid in there by water all your flat rocks are laying flat for the most part in tailings everything's
21:19just haphazard you know how it was dumped it's never been reworked by water so that's one of the
21:25quickest ways to tell let's go look for some virgin ground huh all right
21:35what i think we need to do is find a little bit of elevated ground and look down see what
21:40we can see
21:41this is all tailings this is all tailings on this side too
21:49let's have a look from this high point well this isn't a great feeling but i had something down here
22:09it's a great feeling but it's a great feeling but it's a great feeling but it's a great feeling
22:10so you can see that gravel face over there yeah well to me that looks like glacial till
22:16glacial till is the debris left behind by a glacier thousands of years ago millions of tons
22:22of ice bulldozed its way through the valley crushing rocks into fragments and freeing the gold
22:29inside as the glacier melted back the gold was left scattered throughout the ground hypothesis that that
22:39hillside right there you know it's not really structured with the main hill there's a chance
22:44that's a glacial moraine a moraine is where the glacial till has become piled up to form a ridge
22:50where gold is more likely to be concentrated you can see right down below us here and you've got
22:56the road there that could be good who knows there's only one way to find out though freddie's hunch
23:01an old-timer's road which cuts through the glacial moraine outcrop could hold virgin pay at one time
23:09there was a lot of gold here but they gutted this valley maybe there's some pockets of virgin ground
23:14onto the road that nobody took the gold out of hopefully we can do a little bit of potholing
23:18and try to figure things out
23:30make sure we're not right on the edge in the mine's boneyard juan and jamie construct the new 18-foot
23:37sluice which will help them recover more gold kind of push to where you want it more or less
23:42okay then you push in twist to the right let go of it and it locks you want to try
23:47this one real
23:47quick the magnets grip the steel like a clamp keeping it square at 90 degrees is mining something
23:54that you really enjoy or that you really want to do yeah it is and when my kids can come
23:59out that's
23:59even better wyatt is just about 21 and morgan is almost 19. doesn't seem like you're old enough to have
24:05kids that age so so there's well there is a story um i had wyatt when i was 20 and
24:12then on my 21st
24:13birthday i was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis and i was told if i wanted to
24:19have more kids i needed to do it because the medication i was about to start could cause um
24:24complications during my pregnancy yeah you kind of picked priorities you wanted to have kids so you went
24:29for it i get that i would have never known that she had health issues with her motivation and her
24:34work
24:34ethic but you know it just shows that she really has the drive and she's committed to doing this mine
24:39we should probably get back to work then huh yeah all right
24:50i came to look at this spot we can stay to the side there and at least get a trench
24:54in here and see
24:55what it looks like okay on the other side of the claim freddie locates a spot to test under an
25:02old
25:02mining road for virgin pay maybe they didn't touch it so let's see what lives right here okay hey juan
25:10you got a copy go ahead freddie i see that excavator showed up yeah 10 forward do you want me
25:15to bring
25:16it on down to you yeah if you wouldn't mind
25:23with the gainerts unreliable excavators freddie and juan truck one in that can dig to almost 30 feet
25:33what do you think buddy sweet machine thanks for bringing it down yeah this is a huge machine
25:39that's awesome see if i'm tall enough to get in this guy
25:52my hope here this was their road when they dug these pits beside us this was the only spot i
25:59could see
25:59that we could have a look at in the time period we're here well let's try that level okay
26:28zero not a color in it
26:35it's disappointing yeah really disappointing
26:53so i just had a chat with freddie there might not be ground there basically
27:02oh
27:18what i want to do is get some material from down deeper in here and then have a look at
27:23it from a
27:23greater depth at the gainert mine freddie rolls the dice on one last option finding gold at bedrock
27:32well this is definitely virgin material i just don't know how much of it's here
27:43we're down to bedrock here yep we took those pans about five to six feet right but now we're down
27:4812 feet or so okay so let's uh i got some in the bucket there let's pan it and see
27:53what's in it
27:56when i pan i like to take you know not just the same spot yeah i'll pick around through that
28:02material
28:02so we get a little bit more scientific test
28:19holy moly that's stuff dreams are made of right there i'm absolutely amazed that freddie was able to
28:28find something in here i'm hopeful there's a few thousand yards of material there this is incredible
28:34well that is what i wanted to see we'll run a second test and uh see what's in it
28:46how you doing guys good how are you guys good doing good with 24 hours left before the second test
28:52juan enlists jared and brothers sandy to help with the next fix if you guys could help freddie and
28:57i we need to get that spray bar out of the trommel see if we can break it loose here
29:01on this end
29:01to get it unthreaded you good with that yeah awesome thanks guys
29:08so the problem with the old spray bar it was uh it was actually pushing water outside of the trommel
29:12and it really wasn't cleaning the material properly with this new one it's going to allow
29:16us to be able to concentrate that water where it needs to be and get that material washed
29:23you stick that in there
29:29nope heavier body yeah get up here
29:36there you go
29:39we're putting these pipe nipples on so we can reduce the water flow so we have a nice even
29:43flow across the whole bar to get a good wash and i'm using the end of the old spray bar
29:48so that way
29:48we know that we have the right thread pitch to be able to screw it back onto the plant and
29:52we know
29:52it's going to fit
29:56this is an awesome new spray bar wand did excellent you gonna start throwing her in
30:01yeah i think so oh okay this is heavy mine's light i got the heavy side for sure yeah i'm
30:07sure
30:08okay let's set it down we're gonna see if this side's heavier this side's way easier it's the same
30:25oh look at that it's tight it's like we're professionals or something
30:35okay
30:35hi freddie how's it going going good right now you got a little bit of a safety issue here
30:41yes there's no stair treads in the frameworks on them yeah so i was repurposing your old ripples
30:47we'll tack them in why don't you try that you're gonna start it click and then go
30:53to about an eighth of an inch and then you stack your dimes okay okay
30:58so we stack one we stack two stacking dimes means making each weld smooth and round just like coins in
31:06a stack we'll just stack nine dimes nine okay this is the last weld right there
31:13stack those dimes get a little closer there you go you got it did i yeah thanks freddie you're welcome
31:22i feel pretty good freddie said i did okay i think this skill is really important to have out here
31:27if jared and ray are gone and we need something welded then i can do it
31:41we're making a wider sluice box to give them more area for that gold to fall out so we can
31:46spread that
31:47material out wider it's going to be a lot more efficient sluice box than the one they have
31:51with hours remaining on the final day of fixes and the critical sluice unfinished the gainards get a
31:59welcome surprise ray's taking the afternoon off to lend a hand ray is incredibly hard working he is
32:07gone most of the days during the week but he tries to make up for the week he wasn't here
32:11he just goes
32:12and goes and goes and goes and goes how's it going guys good we're here you guys want to cut
32:17some ripples
32:18we do yeah so our uh sluice is uh 35 and a half
32:30right now i'm just uh getting this fairly close to the pitch we'll have it in the sluice box that
32:37way
32:37when i weld the ears on for these jacks i can get them straight up and down the jacks will
32:45make the
32:45sluice adjustable for the type of pay they are running well all finished looking good let's get
32:52her up to the plant right now it's all hands on deck we're gonna get this thing in get this
33:02test run
33:02done and uh head on to the next mine so i'll ripple this up okay so we're gonna put it
33:10in like shingles
33:11sluice builds complete freddie gives a quick tutorial to mechanic brothers sandy
33:16on how to configure it so now we take our miners moss we don't overlap this stuff
33:27okay now grab one of our heavy ripples so we'll go right up to the top with that one
33:32one of our heavy ripples so we'll go right up to the top with that one of our heavy ripples
33:48you can start walking that end this way we good still all right last task before the test run
33:55the sluice installation oh we're going under that yeah okay oh we're golden
34:02we've learned a ton since freddie and juan showed up here
34:05words can express the gratitude i have for those guys right now
34:12what do you say let's uh start a test run all right let's watch them rock guys see this run
34:19overall the fixes were great and we know we got virgin material here
34:23we'll just run a second test and see what happens
34:41what do you think guys looks like we're ready to run so why don't we do a two-hour test
34:45run
34:45i want yeah i'm excited to see how she runs now in british columbia all right let's do it
34:51it's the moment of truth at the gayner family mine there's a lot at stake here for us with with
34:57everything so i'm hoping with the improvements the sluice and the spray bar that we should improve
35:03and i'm really excited to see what's in the box after we run
35:15good well let's make some goals first bucket
35:29so far everything looks great
35:32already it's more material than we were running the first go around huh awesome awesome
35:36now we're not having to stay up there close it all down that's washing itself down
35:42i think this test run is going pretty good so far these fixes are awesome above and beyond what i
35:49could have ever expected but we've all learned a ton with freddy and juan here tomorrow's goldway
35:55will determine whether or not we stay here
36:03sluice is running pretty decent yeah it's not bad by adding this extra wide sluice box
36:09it allows us to run more material
36:25when you put material into the plat it's got to go somewhere right we don't want it building up
36:30where it's coming up the sluice box so you got to take care of it
36:36sandy's going to get that crackle here where he can take care of the tailing
36:50now start turning
36:56there you go
37:05last pocket jerry yeah sounds good
37:21get my granny glasses on
37:23yep she's got gold in her there's definitely some mustard in this box hey jamie come have a look
37:29a lot to find stuff get in there oh yeah there a little bit bigger here over here nice work
37:37mr dodge
37:39i think this has significantly improved that's the biggest piece i see but all through here is
37:44gold so yeah get her cleaned up and we'll meet you in the morning all right see you guys in
37:47the morning
37:47thanks guys awesome i'm thrilled to see a light at the end of the tunnel i'm more excited than i
37:55can express with words
38:05how's it going guys good how are you doing today good they're all cleaned up yep this is what we
38:10ended up with better than what we had in the first i guess we'll see all the rumor is and
38:17the testings
38:18have shown that this might be the ground that we've needed all this time i think we've got good
38:23ground now i think we're going to do well during our first test run it was a 0.02 that
38:28was for a
38:29one hour run yeah so on the final test run we did two hours we would have gotten 0.04
38:34which is still
38:35only a hundred dollars worth of gold for two hours your goal right now is about half an ounce daily
38:39right
38:39yeah let's see what we got out of two hours yeah
38:490.33 third of an ounce almost three times what they need to hit their daily goal that's really great
38:58guys
38:59that's a massive increase you know and the great thing is that now you're actually on decent ground
39:03that's actually virgin instead of going through the tailings that we were doing in the beginning
39:06yeah i mean with the plant running the way it is we're able to run a lot more material but
39:11you got
39:11to keep prospecting because that whole mine's tailings piles right yeah yeah who knows what's under
39:17them i'll be able to recognize those tailings a little better now yeah yeah you you actually have
39:22a real possibility of making this work yeah we can work with this you kind of mentioned to me earlier
39:26that eventually this is something that you want to do as a family right yeah yeah well with gold
39:30like that that's no longer a dream you know that that actually could be your reality yeah that's
39:35amazing uh i think if we can we can keep this up i won't have to be a panic anymore
39:39oh you you still
39:40will be yeah absolutely yeah there's lots of gold in this area so look around don't run tailings
39:49thank you very much thanks a lot you guys you're welcome thank you it was amazing to ride around
39:55with fred and learn some stuff they're leaving me with hope for my future so i'm chomping at the bit
39:59to get out there and get the rest of that pile run well you guys take care we got to
40:03hit the road
40:04bye my confidence has skyrocketed i'm able to do things that i wasn't able to do before so i'm
40:11i'm really grateful for that jared really wants us to be kind of a family mind now he has that
40:16option
40:17i really enjoyed working with this family they stepped up i taught jared how to spot the difference
40:23between uh tailings and virgin ground that's a biggie because if you run tailings you go broke
40:28you know the sky's the limit for him now hey freddie juan thank you um for this season and everything
40:42that you guys taught us we ran the rest of that virgin material from under the road the next day
40:48we ended up with just about an ounce from it but i'll be honest we're not gonna go back to
40:54the same
40:55claim with the amount of tailings it was such a big risk to go after it now ray and i
41:01actually
41:02bought our own claims that's something like 600 acres of our own now and with the knowledge
41:09i got from freddie i'm confident i'll be able to go out there and prospect that this season really
41:15gave me a taste of stepping up and the things that i learned from freddie like learning how to
41:22weld stacking dimes i'll i'll never forget that i'm going to get her to weld up the exhaust on the
41:27excavator anything that breaks if i need any welding done so the future's looking good confidence is
41:33high we're not giving up thank you again yeah thanks guys
