00:00Have you ever considered adopting a manta ray?
00:03This is Kalina Koo and she's not only a manta ray, but she's also a survivor.
00:07First, she was hit by a boat and not long after that, she was caught in a fishing net.
00:11Most manta rays wouldn't make it through that, but Kalina Koo did.
00:15She was rescued and monitored by an incredible team of volunteers at Manta Trust.
00:19Thanks to their efforts, not only Kalina Koo survived, but also became mom of four different
00:23generations of manta rays.
00:25And this is very important because she has literally helped grow the population in the
00:29wild, while also carrying the scars of what she's been through.
00:35The volunteers at Manta Trust have come to understand that Manta rays are actually very intelligent
00:40since they can recognize themselves in the mirrors just like humans do.
00:43And this is not a coincidence since they have the biggest brain of all fish out there.
00:48They can also build relationships and friendships that last forever.
00:54And I'm pretty sure a lot of us can relate to what they do because they literally protect
00:57the butterflies of the sea, or at least that's how people in the Maldives call them, which
01:01is where they operate.
01:06The best part of all of this is that you can adopt Kalina Koo or one of her other manta
01:11friends.
01:13All you have to do is go to the Manta Trust website, pick a Manta, and then you will get
01:16a bio and adoption certificate.
01:18Then they will say your constant updates of your Manta in the wild and how she or he is
01:22doing.
