AccuWeather's Anna Azallion has a look at the warmer weekend forecast for the Northeast, but temper your expectations, as winter trends continue next week.
Transcript
00:00If you're sick of winter like me, this weekend's forecast, at least for the mid-Atlantic and parts of the
00:04northeast, looks pretty good, but it's another fall spring.
00:07By the time we get to Sunday and the early parts of next week, we're talking about another snow and
00:12ice storm.
00:13Impact somewhere between the couple of clippers we've had mid this week and that blockbuster blizzard.
00:19We're not talking about anything like that, but it could slow down travel and definitely bring another shot of cold
00:25air.
00:25Here's the thing, though, for cities like Philadelphia and D.C., it's a quick dip back to the 30s before
00:31we rebound a little bit.
00:32And I'd love to be able to tell you spring is on the way and here to stay, but AccuWeather's
00:37long-range team says not in March.
00:39It'll be warm enough through mid-month to get rid of all of the snow from the blizzard, but then
00:44we have an upper-level system that's over northern Canada.
00:47It's going to dip down, bring some stormy weather, and you know what comes with that? Yeah, more cold air.
00:52So I guess the groundhog was right, but maybe even a little worse than what the groundhog said.
00:57At least through March, we are not talking about a permanent spring quite yet, for the northeast at least.
