AccuWeather's Anna Azallion has a look at the ride for the week ahead as temperatures fluctuate for much of the Southeast and Northeast.
Transcript
00:00Are you ready for a roller coaster, but not the fun kind, a temperature roller coaster?
00:04Yeah, for at least about the next 10 days, we're in this pattern with wave after wave of Arctic air,
00:09which creates opportunities for snow, but our temperatures moderate in between,
00:13so that's where the roller coaster comes in.
00:16Let's talk about the north-central, northeast, and southeast, because that's where we're seeing the most impacts.
00:20And I want to start in the southeast because the cold this weekend allows for a little bit of snow.
00:24So from Georgia to the Carolinas, we go from 40s and 50s Saturday to 30s and 40s Sunday, there's the opportunity for snow.
00:32However, looking at the next seven days, somewhere like Raleigh, temperatures moderate in between, so we're bouncing all over the place.
00:38The snow just has not really stopped in the northern plains, Great Lakes, and northeast,
00:42so temperatures are in the 30s and the 40s in the northeast this weekend.
00:45However, if we look at Philadelphia as an example, here's the roller coaster.
00:4940s, 30s, 40s, 20s, yeah, that means our lows get down to the teens,
00:53and we have more opportunities for at least a wintery mix later next week.
00:57Lastly, in places like Chicago and Minneapolis, well, temperatures are already a little all over the place this weekend,
01:02but let's look at the next seven days in Minneapolis.
01:04So single digits, teens, single digits, teens, and that's just the high temperatures.
01:10Basically means more opportunities for snow.
01:12The January thaw definitely is over, and I guess it is the season for a temperature roller coaster.
