00:01Hello and welcome to the Traitors Uncloaked Grand Finale!
00:04I'm Ed Gamble and I'm here to debrief that unbelievable last episode with all of our finalists.
00:09If you haven't watched it yet, you need to do that now.
00:12I cannot stress that enough because I'm about to give you the biggest spoilers ever.
00:17Head to iPlayer and join us as soon as you're finished.
00:20Right, joining me tonight on our Grand Finale
00:22Claudia Winkleman is here to finally talk about the show she spends months avoiding discussing.
00:27Charlotte, Alexander and Frankie are on stage to decompress from that hugely stressful final day.
00:33And our winners Jake and Leanne will be joining us for their first ever interviews.
00:37Grab yourself a cup of tea and a biscuit as Claude would say, because this is the Traitors Uncloaked.
00:53What a final episode.
00:55I was so excited I had to go and lie down in a coffin to calm down.
00:59Otherwise known as the Alexander Technique.
01:02We'll be speaking to the finalists shortly, but first I'm joined by the icon that is Claudia Winkleman!
01:09Thank you for having me.
01:10Welcome, Claudia, to Uncloaked.
01:12How hard has it been keeping everything a secret?
01:14I just...
01:15Well, I just haven't spoken at all, really.
01:18I've just been very, very quiet for months.
01:20No, it's okay.
01:21I think everybody wants to keep it a secret.
01:24We have a brilliant crew who are there.
01:26Just everybody who's involved, but we know it's very important.
01:29So we just...
01:30I find, because I'm a little bit ahead sometimes when we're doing Uncloaked, I find people actively avoid talking to
01:36me full stop.
01:37Yes.
01:37Because they don't want to read into anything I say.
01:39No, that's exactly right.
01:41Can I get a sense of how you felt watching that final back?
01:45I...
01:46My makeup's deeply smudged, even more than usual.
01:49I found it very emotional.
01:51The last three days were very emotional, because Mina went, and then Charlotte was brilliant, utterly brilliant.
02:02Freddie didn't want to be a traitor, and he was amazing.
02:06And then Alexander and Frankie, and then the winners, and I tell you who we really missed in there.
02:14We, and I'm not just saying it because he's over there, we missed Joe.
02:18Because Joe got rid of any tension.
02:21Just when it was like, oh, I can't breathe, Joe would say, Lisa, could you ask upstairs?
02:27Like, that's not his voice.
02:28But Joe brilliantly just cut through everything, and then with him gone the last couple of days was very emotional
02:37and very tense.
02:38Yeah, sometimes you need that release valve, don't you?
02:40We just needed him.
02:41Yeah.
02:43Now, we're going to be chatting to Charlotte and Frankie shortly about the seer power.
02:47Obviously, something new for the series.
02:49How excited about that were you when they told you that was going to happen?
02:53Well, the people who make the show, they are geniuses.
02:55They're so clever, and they said it to me, and I was like, what?
02:59And I need to ask Francesca, actually, because when we were in that room, I, and she was choosing,
03:06and going between this person and that person, then when she chose, I could hear my own heartbeat.
03:12I could hear it. It was so intense.
03:17And what are the chances she chooses her best friend, just for affirmation, just like, now I'll know.
03:23And us two, what are the chances?
03:26I couldn't believe it.
03:27But, yeah, the people who make the show are so clever.
03:30I thought it was brilliant.
03:30Maybe she was doing it judged on your heartbeat.
03:34That would be very bad, because my whole job is to try and give nothing.
03:39Really?
03:40How do you think Frankie and Charlotte both played that moment?
03:43I thought they played it, if this isn't too weird a word, really beautifully,
03:48because they were incredibly close, and such best friends.
03:52They'd looked after each other from the beginning, and they were both in a very difficult situation.
03:58And, I mean, honestly, hats off to both of them.
04:02But I thought Charlotte was so strong and faithful to the game,
04:08because I think anybody else would have gone, oh, never mind.
04:11Yeah.
04:11And she didn't.
04:12It was so beautiful, that scene.
04:14Properly filmic.
04:15Yeah.
04:16Charlotte taking on the role of a mob boss in that moment.
04:18It was incredible.
04:19Which she so isn't.
04:21She's the most adorable creature.
04:23So it was, I thought they both handled it brilliantly.
04:27So another new addition this series was the banished players in the final round table,
04:32not revealing their roles within the game.
04:35Yeah.
04:35What do you make of the new addition?
04:37I love it.
04:38I absolutely love it because, as we've always said,
04:41it's a game of listening to your gut and of instinct.
04:45And then they're second-guessing.
04:48And Leigh-Anne, who I adore, because she played with her entire heart,
04:54with all of the passion, it was going to be life-changing for her.
04:59And, anyway, you could see when I announced that Frankie and Alexandra are faithful,
05:06she's just second-guessing her whole face, her whole demeanour was like,
05:10no, no, no, this is happening to me.
05:13And then he said.
05:14Yeah, it must have been really difficult.
05:14Yeah.
05:15Cast your mind back to episode one, please, Claude.
05:17OK.
05:18Where the first piece of evidence that someone was a traitor
05:20was spotted by one of our winners, Jake.
05:22Mm-hm.
05:23Everyone knows what I'm going to say.
05:25Linda's head turn when you said traitors.
05:27Now, we love Linda on Uncloaked.
05:29I'm obsessed by Linda.
05:30Yes.
05:31Did you see her head turning?
05:33Yeah.
05:33Yeah.
05:34And...
05:36Sure.
05:36And I went, I want to say, babes.
05:40What'd she do?
05:40Eyes down.
05:41Because I literally went traitors.
05:43But because Linda is so...
05:46so well brought up, so just...
05:48Manners was like, mm-hm.
05:49And then, when I said, you'll find your identities later,
05:52she nodded at me.
05:55I'm like, what's she doing?
05:58Uh, but Linda, I'm not...
06:02I'm looking at you now.
06:03You are a gift.
06:05My favourite...
06:06You are.
06:07My...
06:10My favourite thing, because I obsessively watch them all the time.
06:15That sounds creepy, but I do.
06:17Um, upstairs, and my favourite thing was the loudest voice.
06:20Just...
06:21There were just...
06:22You would just hear it.
06:23Who's going to come in at breakfast?
06:25I was like, there she is.
06:27That's my girl.
06:28Well, Claudia, you've entertained us every episode,
06:31and the show would not be the same without you.
06:33Let's have a reminder of some of your highlights.
06:38There she is.
06:41We've taken her up a notch.
06:43Boys, lower me.
06:47It's brutal here, isn't it?
06:49This little game is called Deathmatch.
06:52Alexander and Fosier, your first traitor's breakfast.
06:56Watermelon, pickles, a selection of cheese.
06:59I really hope you like Columbo.
07:01What's Columbo?
07:02Freddie, you're very young.
07:05I've never asked this in this room before.
07:07Ew.
07:07How do you feel about murdering your sister?
07:11What have you got?
07:12No!
07:12No!
07:13You horrid man!
07:16That was very fast.
07:18Like a pony.
07:20Time is ticking!
07:22It's not Eurovision.
07:26First question.
07:27What do you think of my boyfriend?
07:29It's a ten from me.
07:31Players, well done.
07:32You deserve a biscuit.
07:34Go back to the castle.
07:35Can I just say to anybody who's watching,
07:37Alexander is single.
07:40I can't wait for you to find out where Charlotte is from.
07:43Oh, my God!
07:45Nish, nish, nash, nish, nish, nish, nish.
07:53We'll be talking to our winners soon,
07:55but now I'm thrilled to welcome our three runners-up,
07:57Charlotte, Alexander and Frankie!
07:59CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
08:03We are so excited to have you all here
08:06and we'll be speaking to each of you
08:07about your time playing the game.
08:10But The Traitors is famed for its lies and treachery,
08:13but one player decided to take it one step further,
08:17convincing everyone she was, in fact, Welsh.
08:19She kept up for a whole series,
08:21I can barely manage one sentence.
08:22Her fellow players had to find out eventually
08:25and, of course, we had to film their reactions.
08:27Oh!
08:28Oh, God!
08:32We've got a scroll.
08:34Should we find out what it says?
08:35Go for it.
08:35I am ready.
08:37Are you ready?
08:38I don't give my heart a take anymore, man.
08:40I'm nervous.
08:40I'm nervous.
08:45Scared?
08:45Well, yeah.
08:48Charlotte is born and bred in London.
08:51How did she say she's from Wales?
08:52She's from Wales!
08:54Oh!
08:57Do it.
09:00Her Welsh accent is fake!
09:03What?
09:04Why?
09:05Why?
09:06Are you serious?
09:10Oh, my God!
09:11What?
09:12She's not Welsh?
09:16What?
09:20What the hell, Charlotte?
09:22I feel like it must be easier for her to put on the persona
09:25and throw people under the bus as a traitor when everything about her is pretend.
09:30Maybe there's some sort of statistic that the Welsh are more trustworthy.
09:33I don't know.
09:37Why?
09:37Why?
09:38She's been Welsh for weeks.
09:39Does she?
09:40She's been Welsh every day since the train.
09:42She's the most Welsh person I've ever met.
09:45How?
09:47Dare she?
09:48Dare she?
09:49Oh, my God.
09:50It must be like the relief of taking off your bra after a long day.
09:53And she's like, hello!
09:56Hello, governor!
10:06Charlotte, welcome to Uncloaked, first of all.
10:09The Welsh accent, what were you thinking?
10:13I mean, I literally did it on my audition video to try and stand out.
10:18I literally did it, like, you see in episode one, I was like,
10:20hi, I'm Charlotte, I'm from Wales, I'm really great, da-da-da-da-da-da,
10:23and then I was like, I'm actually from London.
10:24And, I mean, it got me on the show.
10:26Yeah, it worked.
10:27And it got you to the end.
10:28And it got me to the end, and it gave me the biggest headache ever.
10:33I thought, especially when I met Ellen in the kitchen on that infamous scene,
10:39I thought, oh, Christ, I can't do this.
10:42Like, I'm done.
10:43But then, I think, when Ellen got banished,
10:46and I thought, okay, the threat's gone.
10:48The immediate threat has been removed.
10:50The actual Welsh person is gone.
10:52I'm going to taper it back a bit.
10:54I thought, no-one's actually going to question how you speak.
10:56Like, really.
10:57Even though it was a bit like, sometimes like this,
10:59and sometimes like this, and, you know, so, yeah.
11:01It would be a mad thing for someone to question, wouldn't it?
11:03Yeah.
11:04Just like, I don't think you're really Welsh.
11:07But also, I mean, I'm not going back and playing the game again,
11:10but maybe it contributed to my getting as far as I did.
11:14I don't know.
11:15Yeah.
11:15We can't do a test.
11:16Who's to know?
11:17But, yeah, something got you very far, and that might have played into it.
11:20Exactly.
11:21Was it more difficult, as well, when you became a traitor,
11:24to have the accent to think about?
11:26No.
11:26Honestly, after about two or three days where I genuinely would go back
11:30to my room at night and sort of have a breakdown and be like,
11:33what am I doing?
11:35I kind of just rolled with it and just thought, right, well,
11:37this is, I've signed on the dotted line here.
11:39I've just got to stick with it.
11:40And then it became me.
11:41I think I've actually seen some of the cuts where I'm speaking
11:43to the camera.
11:44Or even when you came into the tarot.
11:46I actually am still sort of doing my Welsh,
11:49even though I'm meant to be doing this now.
11:50I was getting, my brain was a total mix.
11:53But also, because I think you are so brilliant, and when we met,
11:58you said something about, also, if you're putting on an accent,
12:00it means that you have to, you think before you speak.
12:04So, and you did.
12:06Yeah.
12:06And it sort of stopped you just going straight in.
12:09And that was very clever.
12:10100%.
12:10I think, you know, when we speak normally, we speak fast,
12:14we interject, et cetera.
12:15And with the Welsh, it was honestly like taking on a different language
12:19and I couldn't be as fast with butting in, et cetera.
12:21So, I was a bit more considered before I spoke.
12:25And yeah, maybe that helped.
12:26And also at the round table, which was really good.
12:28Everyone does listen to you.
12:30Everyone's very respectful.
12:31So, that was kind of easier to launch into my monologue, you know.
12:35Here I am at the table, you know.
12:37Oh!
12:37She's doing it now, guys!
12:40But I couldn't keep, like, a really strong values accent.
12:42This was definitely not what you heard on TV.
12:45I had to really taper it back.
12:46I just couldn't do it.
12:47I just couldn't do it for the longevity.
12:49Frankie and Alexander, did you suspect anything?
12:51About Charlotte's accent?
12:53No.
12:54And it's one of those things where, as you say, if you'd raised it
12:56and been like, I actually think your accent may not be real,
12:59I think that would have reflected worse on me than on Charlotte.
13:04Now, we should talk about The Seer, one of the biggest talking points
13:07of that final episode and the whole series.
13:10Charlotte, can you explain what was going through your mind
13:12when Claudia told you that Frankie had picked you?
13:15It was literally horrendous.
13:18Because we'd been sat in the billiards room on the sofa,
13:21sort of essentially all saying, you know, I really hope Frankie picks me
13:25because, you know, it will just prove my faithfulness.
13:28So when you said my name, my immediate reaction was just to beam
13:31and be like, yes, she's picked me, isn't this so great?
13:34Well, I thought that was amazing that your reaction was to smile
13:38because I would have cried and dived through the window.
13:39I mean, I just did that sort of, you just didn't see that bit.
13:43I really, really wanted to just try my best and do it.
13:48But you were amazing, honestly, Charlotte.
13:50And what I said earlier, before you came in,
13:53is anybody else, honestly, anybody else would just give up,
13:57just go, all right, it's done.
13:59And you played, you were a brilliant traitor
14:02and you really played it beautifully.
14:04Thank you, Frankie. You did. You did. You played the game.
14:10Frankie, I do want to know, because that was a very difficult decision
14:13for you on who to bring in and you were torn between Charlotte and Alexander.
14:16What made you settle on Charlotte in the end?
14:18Well, Alexander kind of confused me with the coins
14:21and I was sort of suspicious that he was being nice to me
14:24and giving me coins, and then that kind of threw me.
14:26And then, because Freddie had voted for Charlotte
14:29and I sort of really wanted Charlotte to be a faithful
14:32and that to be affirmed, but then Freddie doing that
14:35and then before he was banished, I thought,
14:37oh, I've just got to just scratch that itch
14:40and find out, kind of hoping that wasn't the case.
14:42But it was. Yeah.
14:45Alexander, can you describe that moment in the breakfast room?
14:48Oh God. Oh God.
14:48When Frankie and Charlotte came in the morning after the SIA meeting.
14:52Yeah. I mean, they were really close.
14:54You guys were really close in the game
14:56and watching them come in with this kind of ice in the room
14:59and they sort of, you know, you could have sort of cut it.
15:02It was just, something was really wrong.
15:04And you could just see that in the way you guys interacted.
15:06And it was silence.
15:07I mean, everybody wanted to know what was the outcome.
15:10And instead what we got was silence and like, you know, Charlotte...
15:13A cup of tea?
15:13Charlotte was like, a cup of tea.
15:14Yeah.
15:15The last question on anyone's mind is, was the Charlotte wanted a cup of tea?
15:19Well, I offered her a cup of tea.
15:20I didn't know what else to say.
15:21I didn't know how to play it.
15:23Obviously, I'd been thinking about it overnight and thinking, you know,
15:26I literally did not know what to do, because I can't just go in and be like,
15:29yeah, I am a traitor, you know, let's just all go home.
15:32Well, I deliberately waited.
15:34You did incredibly well to hold the line.
15:35But I just didn't know what to do.
15:36And it was really hard.
15:37And I think, I kind of wish maybe I should have...
15:40I should have waited for Frankie to speak
15:42and then I could have reacted really shocked.
15:45But then I was like, oh, I just don't know.
15:47And then anyway...
15:48But I like that you took the narrative, you were the one who took the narrative.
15:50Well, I wasn't going to speak.
15:51I was, I just wanted to see what she would say first.
15:54Yeah.
15:54I was like, cup of tea.
15:55And then, come on, Charlotte, say what you're going to say.
15:57You spoke with your eyes, rather.
15:58Oh, very much.
15:59And also into Jake's ear.
16:00Yes, into Jake's ear.
16:01Really close.
16:03There was an amazing shot as well,
16:05when everyone sat around awkwardly during that breakfast,
16:07and you are in the middle, Alexander, still fully eating breakfast.
16:11Maybe everyone thinks this, but in every shot,
16:13I'm sort of quietly eating in the background.
16:16Frankie, did you have a plan for the different scenarios,
16:19whether Charlotte was going to be a traitor or a faithful in that meeting?
16:22No.
16:22No, I didn't.
16:24I just, I was hoping that she was obviously a faithful.
16:27And I just thought, I'm just going to go with it and see what happens.
16:30Kind of just hoping, she's not really going to be one.
16:32I've got this sort of theory, she might be, but she's not really going to be one.
16:36So when I opened the envelope, I was genuinely just like,
16:40and I probably should have had a plan rather than just cry.
16:42But I just was so shocked.
16:45Yeah.
16:45And what about you, Charlotte?
16:47In terms of going, obviously, you're walking to that room,
16:49you know what's going to happen.
16:50Yeah.
16:50Did you have it set in your head on what you were going to say and do?
16:53No, I think, oh, it was just so, I couldn't do anything.
16:57I mean, literally, she's going to say, see, I'm a traitor.
17:00Um, but yeah, I obviously, I did sort of say, I mean,
17:03it comes out so maliciously on the, in the episode, but I kind of,
17:07I think it's because I was honestly feeling so much pressure and like,
17:10kind of on the brink of, I don't know, I weirdly was like smiling
17:13kind of in this menacing way.
17:15But essentially, I was like, you realise I'm a faithful.
17:18Like, I have to play as a faithful.
17:20Like, this is really horrendous for both of us.
17:23Like, actually awful.
17:24Like, it was all, it was really, really not nice.
17:26It wouldn't have been nice with anyone, but especially with Frankie.
17:29And so, yeah, it was just, there was no game plan.
17:32I just had to let her read it.
17:34Well, yeah, I mean, if the game plan was to pick up a flute of champagne
17:36like a sort of badass.
17:38I nailed it.
17:39Yeah.
17:40Uh, Claudia, how did you feel watching that SIA meeting play out?
17:45Um, I, well, I wasn't, obviously, in the room,
17:49on a bean bag, going off, you're going off.
17:52Um, I, I couldn't believe it.
17:55And I was saying earlier, Francesca,
17:57that when you and I were standing in that room,
18:00and I just thought Charlotte, I thought there's no way you're
18:02going to pick Charlotte, because she was your best friend.
18:04And then when you went with that, I was so worried,
18:07because I could hear, I could hear my blood going round my body.
18:11I could hear my heartbeat.
18:13I was like, huh, my, like, my only job is to give nothing away.
18:16That and make myself orange, my only two things.
18:19And I, yeah, I couldn't, I couldn't, I just, you couldn't write it.
18:23How was that final day for you, Frankie?
18:26Because, obviously, you and Charlotte were very close,
18:28and then you had the SEA meeting.
18:30How was it battling against Charlotte?
18:32Oh, it was horrid.
18:33But it was, strangely, it kind of made me really focused as well,
18:36rather than kind of, because I knew I kept on getting things wrong.
18:38And I thought, right, I actually have some information here.
18:41And so, I think I cried less than I did every day.
18:44And I think I just was like, I've just got to tell the truth.
18:47That's my only mission today, is to tell the truth.
18:50And if it goes my way, it goes mine if it doesn't.
18:52But it was really difficult, because I kind of felt like
18:55we were sort of scrabbling around, you know,
18:56in kind of weird mud wrestling kind of thing,
18:59like flinging mud at each other.
19:00But neither of us won, and we just kind of got muddy.
19:03I mean, it's just, you know, it was just like, it was just weird.
19:05It was just sort of a situation that you never envisage happening.
19:09And have you, you've made up now, all friends again?
19:11Yeah, we're always friends.
19:13Yeah, yeah.
19:14And they made it to the end.
19:15Yeah.
19:16Yeah, we made it to the end.
19:17It's really hard, I would say, as a traitor,
19:19because when you were playing a traitor, and anyone else
19:21that's, you know, ever been a traitor, it's, you know,
19:23it is a game.
19:24So you're deceiving people, and you are lying,
19:26but no one knows.
19:27But in this instance, Frankie knew.
19:29So it felt ever so slightly less fun for me, you know,
19:33because I'm just lying, and someone knows I'm lying.
19:36You know, so when we had that moment in the kitchen,
19:38and it was just kind of weird, like the two of us
19:40just took ourselves away, but it was like,
19:42well, you literally know, I literally know.
19:44I'm really glad.
19:45You kind of just got to let the other three sort it out.
19:46It was just a bit weird, you know.
19:49So, yeah, it was hard, but obviously, yeah.
19:51I'm really glad we had the moment in the kitchen,
19:53because it's sort of...
19:54I think we were getting so tense throughout that day,
19:56and then we just slightly reconnected as friends,
19:59and I was like, I know why you're doing this.
20:00You know why I'm doing this.
20:02And then we'll go back to the game.
20:03It really made me cry.
20:05I was watching upstairs.
20:06I watched...
20:06I mean, I can't cry now,
20:08but I was watching you both in the kitchen.
20:09I was like...
20:10I mean, it'd help our ratings if you had little.
20:13LAUGHTER
20:15Alexander, you didn't buy into Charlotte's story
20:17after the CRM.
20:18You weren't ever wavering,
20:20and you actually suspected that Charlotte might have been a traitor
20:23after Freddie was banished.
20:25Why was that?
20:25Why did you suspect her?
20:27Charlotte and Frankie and I were quite close for that period,
20:31and that morning when Freddie came in,
20:34Charlotte kind of turned on me a little bit,
20:36and I was like, actually, I don't know,
20:38Alexander, I'm starting to think maybe it's you,
20:40and I was like, no, no, there's a...
20:44We're too close for you to just turn like that.
20:47There is a...
20:47It's a behaviour I haven't seen before.
20:49You would have talked to me quietly or something,
20:52but this is a...
20:53This is a play.
20:55And from that moment, I was sure,
20:56and that's when I took you into the library and...
20:58It was so intense.
20:59I kind of tried this version of the Spanish Inquisition.
21:01It wasn't very effective.
21:02And then I actually...
21:03Was that the nodding?
21:04Yeah, there was a...
21:04Oh, my gosh.
21:05I never want to be interrogated by Alexander again.
21:08I mean, I know I'm a traitor at this point,
21:10but I go into the village room...
21:12It wasn't even very effective.
21:12What was it that I said?
21:14Alexander's behaving erratically.
21:16Erratically.
21:17Alexander's behaving erratically.
21:18And then I think I said to Freddie,
21:19I was like, oh, Freddie, could you go and tell Frankie?
21:22Thinking that Freddie would be my sort of...
21:23my line of truth.
21:24So that was ineffective.
21:27And he was also a traitor.
21:30Now, Leanne and Jake will be here shortly
21:33with their exclusive first interview since winning.
21:35But before that, we've got to discuss
21:37the train ride in episode one,
21:39the final mission,
21:40and the thrilling end game.
21:42But first, here on Uncloaked,
21:43we like to bring you exclusive moments.
21:45So here is Frankie and Alexander
21:46finding out whether the four other finalists
21:48were faithful or traitors
21:50after they'd left the game.
21:51This is great.
21:58Charlotte Trayton.
22:00Alexander faithful.
22:04Leanne faithful.
22:07Jake faithful.
22:10Oh, that's good.
22:14That's great.
22:16I feel bad for Alexander.
22:20Oh, wow.
22:30That is brilliant.
22:33That is absolutely brilliant.
22:37We were all bloody faithfuls.
22:42I guess we didn't trust each other enough.
22:44Oh, there's a real...
22:46I think it's called The Prisoner's Dilemma, isn't it?
22:48Almost everybody goes for each other
22:50without needing to.
22:51That's very funny.
22:58Absolutely amazing.
22:59What a reaction from you, Alexander.
23:01Yeah.
23:01It's kind of the story of the game.
23:02I've watched it on subtitles a couple of times,
23:04and at the bottom,
23:04when I fell into the hedge,
23:05it says,
23:06Alexander cackles.
23:07And I feel like that's a sort of repeating theme,
23:09Alexander cackles.
23:11Sometimes I felt like everyone else was
23:13so, like, super invested,
23:15and not that you weren't super invested,
23:16but sometimes you just felt like
23:17someone watching the show.
23:19You were so excited.
23:19Yeah.
23:20I was watching other people play the show.
23:23But I really always felt like it was a game,
23:25and I really loved that.
23:26And you know that you may not make it to the next day,
23:28so you sort of put everything into that day.
23:31And the first day I was in there,
23:32I sort of went for a walk around the castle grounds
23:34just in case I didn't come back.
23:36I always felt that sense that each day was very special.
23:38And I just loved playing.
23:40You seemed quite surprised there, again,
23:42that Leanne was a faithful.
23:44You always sort of maintained that Leanne was a traitor.
23:47Why did you have such strong suspicions about her?
23:50It was a mix.
23:51I mean, you can remember back,
23:52but voting patterns with Mina were really close.
23:56Her reactions, I just didn't understand some things.
23:58The stories about the Shields and always being murdered.
24:02I just put it together,
24:03and I had this brilliant story in my head.
24:06I remember having, like, a notepad at night,
24:08and I'd sort of make the connections.
24:09I was like, I've been a genius.
24:11I've seen things that no one else has seen,
24:13and I've put all the evidence together,
24:14and I've got the line between it,
24:15and, like, this is a walk in the park.
24:17And I was so, so wrong.
24:20Which is always a risk of going hard on a theory.
24:23So I'm sorry, Leanne.
24:25But not to put any spoilers on, but it kind of worked out.
24:28I feel slightly less bad, but I do feel bad about that.
24:31Frankie, now some time's passed,
24:33how does it feel knowing that, in the end,
24:35it was four faithfuls battling each other?
24:37I think it's the same, sort of, as I said then,
24:40when I found out we just didn't trust each other enough.
24:42I think the seer was so divisive
24:44that we all kind of just got in this sort of fever dream spin
24:48and started turning on each other.
24:50And I was so shocked by Charlotte
24:52that the only person I was clear about was Leanne.
24:55And so, unfortunately, for Alexander and Jake,
24:57I just couldn't see it.
24:59I just wasn't going to see it,
25:00because I thought, you know, Charlotte likes Jake,
25:02and, you know, she sort of said that he's faithful,
25:06and then Alexander at the round table.
25:08I just got so confused.
25:10I was like, I'm just going to focus on Leanne.
25:12But I was wrong completely, that, you know, everyone was faithful.
25:16Well, what I do want to talk to you about,
25:17because you were incredible, is the final mission.
25:21Because I think we could all maybe picked up a slight sense
25:23that you were nervous about being dragged on.
25:26Really?
25:27What gave that away?
25:28Are you proud of yourself for doing it?
25:30Yes, I'm not...
25:31I sort of watched it back, and I was like,
25:33I can't believe I did that.
25:35I mean, my children will say
25:36that I don't even go on the teacups at the fairgrounds.
25:39I literally can't.
25:41And I always have to sit at the front of the car.
25:42I have terrible motion sickness, hate heights.
25:45It is literally my worst nightmare.
25:46So not something you'd try again, then?
25:48No, no.
25:50You've not asked Leanne to put a word in for you with the army.
25:52No, no, it's not.
25:55Now, Alexander, I want to talk to you about the first episode
25:58and the infamous train ride.
26:00You obviously made the heroic decision to leave the train.
26:03Heroic, you did.
26:03One question.
26:04Yeah.
26:05Why?
26:06That's probably the right question.
26:09Part of me was just, it was a kind of emotional reaction.
26:12Someone needed to solve the problem, and I felt like I could,
26:14and I was slightly frustrated.
26:15Nobody was.
26:16So there's a sort of element of sort of righteous indignation
26:18where you're like, right, I'm going to sort of self-sacrifice
26:21just to make a point.
26:23So there's a little bit of that.
26:24But I also thought about it quite hard.
26:26I remember listening to the wording really carefully
26:27of your announcement on the train,
26:29and I thought there's some wiggle room there.
26:31And I also thought no one, you know,
26:34obviously you've watched the series before,
26:35and I thought no one's ever been,
26:37no one's ever left unless they've been murdered or banished,
26:39and this is neither.
26:39Mm-hmm.
26:40And I also always felt that the first episodes
26:43are kind of risky.
26:45You don't know who's going to be thrown out.
26:47And if I came back in with this story
26:50that I'd done something for the group, for the team,
26:53that would be a good story.
26:55It sort of worked out.
26:57Sort of.
26:58I did come back in.
26:59I did, thank goodness, get back into the game,
27:00but it was a pretty choppy ride from there.
27:02Well, Jack got off because he needed the toilet,
27:04so I think you...
27:05Yes, so my reasoning looks great, yeah.
27:08Claudia, I believe you have an apology to make to Alexander
27:11about something you said about him.
27:13Well, yes, I'm so sorry that I reported to the group
27:17that you were single because I'm...
27:19Because I have had more messages...
27:22Yeah, well...
27:23The gang.
27:24Yeah.
27:25The nice people who are watching.
27:27The nice people who are watching.
27:29But I have had more messages about you.
27:32You are...
27:32You're king.
27:34You can...
27:34He is, right?
27:38More messages from friends of mine who are like,
27:40define single.
27:42Right?
27:43All my divorced friends of WhatsApp me.
27:45Yeah.
27:45Can I have his number?
27:46Yeah, yeah.
27:47What does he smell like?
27:49Like, dude.
27:52Divine.
27:53No one wants to.
27:53Please don't ask me that.
27:56You were clearly quite fond of Alexander in there, Claudia,
27:59because obviously great faithful but many entertaining moments.
28:02Do you have a particular favourite of Alexander's moments?
28:06When he ran like a pony.
28:07Yeah.
28:09No, I...
28:10I love all of them so much when I'm in there
28:13and I can't be with them all the time and Sarah is my boss.
28:17Whenever I get close, she's just like, back away!
28:19OK.
28:20OK.
28:20Not like that, but in a kinder way.
28:22But, yeah.
28:23I thought Alexander, Fozier and Jack all for getting off the train.
28:27I mean, they did a stellar job with that.
28:30Absolutely.
28:30They did it fast without thinking.
28:31Well, look, you've all been fantastic players.
28:34Absolutely loved watching you.
28:35Thank you so much for all of the entertainment you've provided.
28:37You've been incredible.
28:38Massive round of applause for Charlotte, Alexander and Frankie.
28:46Well, the time has come to finally hear from our winners, Jake and Leigh-Anne.
28:52Here's the moment the faithful won the game.
28:55We're now going to finally discover who you really are.
29:01Please don't let me down.
29:05Leigh-Anne, please reveal, are you a faithful
29:10or are you a traitor?
29:14I am a faithful.
29:19Jake.
29:20Yep.
29:21Please, now reveal.
29:23Are you a faithful or are you a traitor?
29:28I am.
29:30And I have always been...
29:32Oh, God.
29:35...a faithful.
29:38Toot no supporting you.
29:40jump!
29:40You're awesome!
29:44Go ahead, I am very sorry!
29:47Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
29:49Ahhhh!
29:51Ahhhh!
29:53Oh, no.
29:54Oh, my God.
29:55Oh, my God!
29:56Come on, Jake.
29:59Oh, my God!
30:00Yeah!
30:00Oh, ho, ho, ho!
30:05And our faithful champions are here!
30:11Congratulations to both of you. What an incredible game.
30:14How does it feel reliving that moment?
30:17Oh. It feels surreal.
30:19Yeah. It's so emotional. You were so mean to do that.
30:23Do you know what? I just thought, after all that stress...
30:26I just thought it'd be funny.
30:29And I just thought, if it was anyone but Leigh-Anne,
30:31I probably wouldn't have done it.
30:33But as soon as I started doing it,
30:34and I could see how angry she was getting,
30:36I thought, she's going to come and punch me in a minute.
30:38Just because my original thought was to keep it going longer and longer and longer.
30:43It felt like a lifetime.
30:45Did you genuinely have suspicions at the end there, Leigh-Anne,
30:48that Jake might have been a traitor?
30:49Yeah, I thought, especially when Claudia revealed that we were all faithfuls at the end,
30:53my heart was shattered, and then I look at Jake,
30:57and he's like this.
30:59And I'm like, I've made the biggest mistake of my life.
31:02And I was just, yeah.
31:05I mean, it was an absolutely incredible final moment.
31:07And, yeah, thank you for doing a bit of trolling.
31:10I think we all enjoyed it.
31:12We've got to rewind to that first roundtable, Jake,
31:14where you spotted Linda...
31:16Sorry to bring it up again, Linda.
31:19Where you spotted Linda turn her head to Claudia saying traitors.
31:23Take us back to that moment and what was going through your mind.
31:26Well, first of all, I was, like, blinded by your blindfolds on for so long.
31:30Like, I couldn't see.
31:31And as soon as I got my eyesight, I just clocked Linda straight away.
31:35And I couldn't believe my eyes.
31:36I thought, is the game that easy?
31:40And I was expecting, like, everyone to just pick up on it.
31:43Yeah.
31:44And then everyone was like, oh, no.
31:45Like, it's just Linda.
31:46And I'm like, it's not just Linda.
31:49But the thing about Linda is she just reminded me of, like, my nana.
31:52You know, when you start, you wind your nana up about stuff.
31:55Like, I almost didn't want to vote for her
31:56because I just, I loved that whole, like, cat and mouse thing I had with her.
32:00So, it was like, yeah, it's a strange one, really.
32:03Sick.
32:04Now, obviously, you did have that theory,
32:06but it seemed like everyone forgot about it a little bit during the game.
32:09And that was the only bit of hard evidence anyone had, really,
32:12for the faithful this year.
32:14Was it frustrating when so few people were considering Linda
32:16when you had your eyes set on her so much?
32:18It was very frustrating.
32:20I just felt like, I just, I got so infuriating in my own head,
32:25thinking, like, no one's listening to me.
32:27And then more and more people are getting banished.
32:29And I thought, it's just surely now is the time.
32:32It's going to go back onto Linda.
32:33Oh, no, we'll go to Dan.
32:35And it's like, people, listen to me.
32:37Like, I've got something here.
32:39But, yeah, finally, people did clutch on.
32:42But it was frustrating.
32:43And it just felt like, felt like I was speaking, but no, no voice.
32:47Like, I was just miming, like.
32:49Do you know what I mean?
32:49I mean, that is similar to how I think we were all feeling at home as well,
32:52going, how is Linda getting away with this still?
32:54But also going...
32:56But obviously she did.
32:56Yeah, also going, yeah, go on, another episode, Linda, please.
33:00I mean, how come you guys didn't listen to Jake?
33:02This is the time we can settle some scores here, Jake.
33:05I just didn't see it.
33:07Well, I didn't see the head turn position on the table.
33:09But I just, Linda just had me the whole time.
33:11I know, the rest of the nation, like, what?
33:14You didn't vote for her, did you?
33:15Never once.
33:16Because I did, towards the end, I think I voted for Linda twice.
33:20Like, the second time, obviously, she got banished.
33:22But it became clear to me, not because of any head turn,
33:24but the voting was very erratic.
33:28And things like when, I think, she pushed it back on you,
33:30and then there was another day she goes,
33:31oh, I think it's you, Joe, actually,
33:33because you've questioned me, so I'm going to question you.
33:35There was just a few things like that, so.
33:37I think as well, like, so much happens in a day there,
33:40and literally, with a click of a finger, everything changes,
33:43and the suspicions change onto somebody else.
33:45I think it got easier for Linda as the days went on,
33:47because Linda is very dramatic, so...
33:50I think people just started to think, oh, it's just Linda.
33:53Like, watching it back, I'm thinking, like, it's so obvious,
33:57but when she's saying, like, who the hell's not going to come back?
33:59It's like, that's just Linda.
34:01Even then, when you said Linda was dramatic,
34:04you might not have seen this, Linda went, really?
34:09Leigh-Anne, now, obviously, from the start,
34:11you decided to pretend you were a nail technician
34:13and not admit that you were an ex-soldier.
34:15How easy or difficult was it to keep up that lie?
34:18Honestly, it was harder than I thought.
34:20As soon as I stepped on the platform,
34:22I had Fosier asking me to do her nails,
34:24and I was just like, yeah, yeah, of course,
34:27and honestly, the amount of conversations people would have with me
34:30about being a nail technician threw me.
34:33I really thought, like...
34:34Honestly, I just didn't think it would be a topic of conversation.
34:39Linda, sorry, Lisa, one day broke a nail,
34:45and she came to me and she was like,
34:46Leigh-Anne, can you fix my nails?
34:48I was like, yeah, of course, I'll bring my kit in tomorrow.
34:50She would remember the next day, and she was like,
34:51Leigh-Anne, where's your kit?
34:52I was like, oh, I'm so sorry, Lisa.
34:54And I was losing sleep at night,
34:56not because I thought I was going to get murdered,
34:57but because of Lisa's fingernails.
35:00The other thing that I loved is,
35:03during the missions,
35:03you are so strong and so fit,
35:07and I think it was when you were putting coins in
35:10to get the cages down,
35:11and Leigh-Anne is running.
35:13I don't know whether you ever...
35:14Anyway, it was like a cartoon.
35:16You didn't see her legs move.
35:18Like, what?
35:18And not sweating.
35:20Hair in a high pony.
35:21Don't worry, I've got it.
35:22I've got the...
35:22And I was like, easy.
35:25Easy.
35:25But when she carried the heads up as well,
35:27like, oh, she carried all of Joe and I to do one,
35:29and Leigh-Anne's just like on her shoulder,
35:31and I'm going, oh!
35:32But again, you can't ask,
35:33and you can't say a nail technician
35:35wouldn't be that strong.
35:36No!
35:37Well, your fellow finalists
35:39might not have clocked on,
35:40but let's see the moment
35:41the other players found out
35:42your true identity.
35:49Mina, I have a scroll
35:51that contains a secret.
35:52Oh, don't.
35:53About one of our players.
35:55I've got anxiety.
35:56I'm more nervous about this
35:57than finding out who the traitors were.
35:59Oh, a secret?
36:01Open this bad boy up,
36:03and just...
36:03The next one.
36:04Please be nice.
36:08Leigh-Anne isn't a nail technician.
36:11What is she now?
36:12Don't say she's a friggin' surgeon.
36:15Ooh, she's really an army soldier.
36:24I'm actually not surprised at that.
36:26What?
36:27She smashed that ch...
36:29Oh, my God.
36:30At the mission,
36:30there was a point where I was thinking,
36:31so, calm down.
36:33Calm down, please.
36:34Yeah.
36:35Because I can't catch up with you
36:36right back now,
36:37and it's looking embarrassing for me.
36:39Can we see this?
36:41I don't know what I'm more confused of.
36:43Her real job,
36:44or the job she was saying she had.
36:51Amazing.
36:53Did you do any research
36:54before going in there?
36:55Did you sort of build your part?
36:57Extensive research, yeah.
36:58Like, down to how much
36:59I would charge for a set of acrylics.
37:01Literally.
37:03My partner's sister
37:04owns a salon down the road
37:05with her best friend,
37:06so I'm in there all the time.
37:08Like, all the time.
37:09I literally feel like I work there,
37:10so I just thought,
37:11do you know what?
37:11I know it like the back of my hands.
37:12This is something
37:13that I can get away with.
37:15And, well, you did.
37:16Yeah.
37:16Yeah.
37:17Let's rewind to the beginning
37:18of tonight's final,
37:19when we saw Frankie and Charlotte
37:21walk into breakfast.
37:23Jake, Frankie whispered in your ear
37:25that Charlotte was a traitor.
37:26What went through your mind
37:28at that moment?
37:28Did you maybe think
37:29she'd whispered traitor
37:30because you'd had the last croissant?
37:33I just felt panic
37:35because I just,
37:35I wasn't expecting it.
37:36And I just,
37:38it was so much easier
37:39I had to have said,
37:40oh, yeah, shout out to fearful.
37:41But when she said traitor,
37:42I just thought,
37:43oh.
37:43And then, of course,
37:44she's wished it to my ear.
37:46I just,
37:46I felt like,
37:47what now?
37:48What do I do now?
37:48And it just,
37:49yeah,
37:50it just stressed me out.
37:51I mean,
37:52obviously,
37:52that was a very tense moment
37:53and Claudia,
37:54you then had to walk
37:55into the breakfast.
37:56And be easy breezy.
37:58Well,
37:58because they'd made it
37:59to the final
37:59and look at them,
38:01they're fantastic.
38:03And I have enormous respect
38:05for each of them individually.
38:06And I,
38:07I didn't know which way
38:08it was going to go,
38:09but you also have to,
38:10you know,
38:11you made it to the last day.
38:12And look at our,
38:14every single person
38:15in our cast
38:16were extraordinary.
38:17We lost them one by one.
38:18So you still want
38:19to celebrate that.
38:20I can't go in going,
38:21guys,
38:22I know things are tense.
38:24You seem to come in
38:25even bigger this time,
38:26though.
38:26I did,
38:26because it was the final day.
38:28Yeah.
38:28There are certain rules.
38:29Final day,
38:30upbeat,
38:30first rule,
38:31can I just apologise to Yin?
38:32You have to drop the portrait.
38:34There are,
38:35it's a,
38:35yeah,
38:36it's law.
38:37Now,
38:38Leanne and Alexander,
38:40we're going to,
38:40we're going to have to
38:41thrash this out now.
38:42Obviously,
38:43both very suspicious
38:43of each other
38:44all the way through.
38:46How's it been
38:46watching it back
38:47knowing that you
38:48are both faithful?
38:49Oh,
38:49I've been screaming
38:50at myself
38:51at the TV
38:52every single night.
38:53It's a hard watch,
38:54isn't it?
38:54And we were so blinded
38:56by our distrust
38:57in each other.
38:57When really,
38:58if we worked together,
39:00we could have done
39:01really, really well.
39:02And there were times
39:02that we almost managed it.
39:04That chat on the sofa
39:05where you sort of saw us
39:06sort of briefing
39:07against each other
39:08all day.
39:08The night Friday,
39:09yeah.
39:09And then we came to the sofa
39:09and we were like,
39:10look, this is getting a bit silly.
39:11Let's actually have a chat.
39:12And we looked at each other
39:12and we're like,
39:13maybe we're both wrong.
39:14Yeah.
39:15And there was a couple
39:15of other chats like that
39:16and we just kept going
39:17and almost getting it right
39:18and then failing again.
39:20And it was such a shame
39:21because you watch the TV now
39:22and you're like,
39:22what am I doing?
39:24Yeah, literally.
39:25But it's quite,
39:26sorry, go on.
39:26No, go on, you're okay.
39:27I was going to say,
39:27it's quite nice
39:28because we've kind of
39:28been in touch a little bit
39:29during them being like,
39:30oh, I'm so sorry.
39:31I know.
39:32And it's actually rather nice
39:33in kind of bonding
39:34this side of it.
39:35Yeah.
39:36And I think it's just
39:37so intense.
39:39And the thing is,
39:40me and Alexander
39:40got on like a house on fire
39:43and we really had
39:44so many laughs together.
39:45It's just,
39:45in the game,
39:46we just,
39:46we couldn't find that.
39:47Could not make it work.
39:48Couldn't make it work.
39:49But also,
39:50it's so easy
39:51when you know.
39:52Yeah.
39:52I would say that to everybody.
39:54You know,
39:55my friends who are like,
39:55can't they?
39:56I'm like,
39:57it's super easy at home.
39:58It's just not
39:59when you're in there.
40:00You are absolutely,
40:03you know,
40:03you're playing the game
40:04of your life
40:05and you have to get it right.
40:06But my favourite moment
40:07is these two,
40:08even though they would war,
40:10Leanne would always go up
40:11and hug Alexander after.
40:13Oh, that's lovely.
40:14You watch it all.
40:15She'd always just go,
40:16yeah, all right.
40:17And they just went up to him.
40:18There's one round table.
40:19She's like,
40:19yeah, okay.
40:20You know,
40:20promise I'm a lover,
40:21not a fighter.
40:22And it's actually really nice
40:23because underneath that,
40:24I think we have
40:24a really strong relationship.
40:26So it wasn't sort of,
40:27we just dislike each other.
40:28It was almost because
40:29we have a strong relationship
40:30that it was quite fiery.
40:31Just couldn't quite get past it,
40:32could we?
40:33But actually one of the
40:34really nice things,
40:34this side of it
40:35is actually without that game,
40:38it's actually been really nice
40:39sort of getting to know
40:39each other more.
40:40So that's been really good.
40:41Yeah.
40:42It's like a sibling rivalry
40:43at Christmas time.
40:43Really like a sibling,
40:44or sort of,
40:44yeah,
40:45or bad relationship.
40:46You get what you look at it,
40:46yeah.
40:48My husband.
40:48Jake and Leanne.
40:49Sibling rivalry.
40:50Jake and Leanne,
40:50how does it feel
40:52being the last faithful standing?
40:54Oh.
40:55It feels amazing,
40:56but then they also feel
40:58really bad
40:59because to find out
41:00obviously that Alexander
41:01and Frankie were both
41:03faithful,
41:04it almost feels like
41:05I've robbed them in a way.
41:07So I'm really happy,
41:09but also I'm really sad
41:10because I do feel like
41:12they both deserved
41:13the money as well.
41:14Yeah.
41:14I think it feels hard
41:15to celebrate,
41:16I think,
41:16because the fact
41:18that there was four faithfuls
41:20in the end
41:20is just sickening.
41:23Well, look,
41:23all five of you
41:25played a brilliant game
41:26and we loved watching.
