01:27I'm overwhelmed and bewildered actually
01:31I'm really it's this is the first time I've seen I've just called them my babies
01:35I've just seen all the contestants there and it's really gorgeous to see them all
01:39And I have been away in a bubble filming something else so I really haven't been you have many
01:46You don't know the mania that is sweeping across this country. I really don't imagine if all four Beatles were

01:53That's basically that's the level of hysteria. We're all the number of films we'd have about
02:01Well that finale was unbelievable was it as emotional for you as it was for the rest of us. Yes.

02:13Understand is that we all went through and I think our lovely contestants would agree
02:19The production team and myself and we we went through it with them. We were working the same hours
02:25I mean, nobody was working as hard as potty

02:34Well, he needed the energy the poor man didn't sleep more than 45 minutes for two weeks
02:38I think but we were all doing it together and it like it really felt like we were together so
02:44It by the end. We were all at our very last shred of sanity. Yeah. Yeah, we were all demented
02:51The series was very Irish from the cup of fuckle to the cup on tea to the ole ole and

03:46What is it about the show that made it feel particularly Irish to you?
03:50Well, I think I think we it's such a well-known franchise really and the whole challenge is to
03:57For it to be as good as the other one. Yeah, and also to put our own mark on it

04:02So it was really lovely that we were able to have the cuplofocle that we a lot of the iconography
04:07was very Celtic
04:08The ome, I loved the ome, yeah

04:20I couldn't get into them then can't get into them now
04:23But for me personally it had to do with like all the Irish designers that I really wanted to

04:41There's such a wealth of talent in this country and we tend to think that we know what that is

04:50the Yanks. Yeah, but actually there is such a wealth of talent when it comes to

04:58But if you noticed even last night's episode a beautiful kimono that I was wearing had Cara Deelish written on

05:04And we had Fjalltor written on things there were there were little Easter eggs there that only added to the
05:10design
05:10So I'm really proud that I got to on my
05:14Lumpen beautiful self got to showcase a few Irish designers, you know

07:11And look how long he lasted so it's almost a question of being able to adapt on the hoof
07:16You know there was a real three different approaches to Paul D sort of wrote you like a jazz musician

14:26Well, it was a mixed emotion and we obviously the admission was incredible. It was incredible to share with obviously

14:33But there's the thought in the back of your mind of what's to come and every round table was so

14:38So we knew eventually what was to come and yeah
14:41Yeah, and also you're thinking about what happens the previous night as well
14:44Yeah, so kind of when everyone's coming in for breakfast knowns
14:48As you can see as you could say no one's really talking or it was awkward. Yeah, so it was
14:52like the breakfast after a wedding after somebody like punched a

14:58Nick I gotta say though. I like that last round table where there was a lot of heat on you
15:04Like the girls came with receipts
15:06They were on you, but you remained I gotta say very very cool and collective. I don't know. I would
15:12have crumbled

15:17God much, but like I had to fight my corner. I had to go for it
15:20So I was never gonna back down we wanted to we wanted to give it our all so
15:24All or nothing have to try and win, but ultimately they called us out in our bs
15:28We were both shocked with that though because when we were talking we thought they were gonna come for me
15:32So then you can see actually in the show when they say when I think someone goes for Nick
15:37And he's like
15:38Because he wasn't expecting
15:40We were ready to defend defend band, so I'd like this pitch for band. I was like let's go and
15:44then she comes to me
15:44And I was like, oh
15:46Well, we got a bone to pick with you over Faye like lads. He's you backstabbed your best friend
15:52How could you have done that for it's and it's like a panto audience
15:59We am yeah, we did we struggled with this with this one for ages because obviously the name of the
16:03game is to get to the
16:04Final and get the money and we were on one side Faye was on the other so for us to
16:08win it
16:09We would have to do it eventually and yeah, so it was a mercy killing
16:12Yeah, well, we actually didn't know what would be worse taking her to the final and having to do it
16:16or or doing it then
16:18But so basically you did her a favor you're welcome

17:14So hard to get by them and obviously they they caught us

19:13That they're not a traitor and people are going after them and seeing how upset they get like I did

19:20You just have to keep on trying to bring it back that it's a game
19:22It's a game but in the moment it is it is really difficult and you struggle

22:52So when the oil brought it to me, I was going oh no
22:54Like what do I even say here and she was so strong. It was impossible to when I input those
22:58lasers on you
22:59I'd say your heart just shrink sinking behind the round table
23:04Ben you made it one step further to endgame. How's it like standing there as the last traitor?
23:10Without your boy. Yeah, I know. Yeah, like I'm to be fair
23:12He left a little breadcrum for me like with the the party comment and I still knew the game was

23:18Anyway, like I still knew that the girls are gonna get it right like they were they were brilliant
23:22They copped it once Kelly had kind of made her mind up like I kind of knew what way it
23:26was gonna happen

25:54None of my friends would believe that I would go off my phone for two weeks willingly
25:57And I couldn't say I was going on a retreat because they wouldn't believe me about that either
26:00So I had to kind of I started planting seeds really early on
26:03And it's like something my dad would do that he would like challenge me
26:07So I was like, you know what girls my dad has been saying like I bet you like 200 quid
26:11you can't go off your phone for two weeks
26:13So I was like, you know what? I'll take that bet
26:15And so yeah, now they think I'm 200 euro richer like little do they know it's a little bit more

29:12know as in what i was thinking because i had a lot of it that was a sweet little trap

30:46yeah that last round table was so tense once nick was banished ben like what was going through
30:53your head oh so i put my head down and i was like really pretend like you're shocked with that
30:59nick or something like that but then i stayed there for that long that i was like well i can't
31:03celebrate now either so i just stayed there for an extra and i was like what am i gonna do

31:07i think it was about five minutes and i'm still just like that you could have gave a very very

31:22reacted very differently were you just done at that point i was done about three days before like i was
31:27like begging production to go home like i just wasn't having it anymore it was just so much tougher
31:33than it was and then last two days we'd just been so wrong and i was just so deflated and
31:38i was sick of
31:38being in the middle of everything and it's just like even going into the round table like even
31:42coming into breakfast actually i just didn't care like i really didn't care anymore i actually thought
31:47nick was gonna win and actually like like convince kelly because like kelly had not been she voted for
31:53me twice i think she'd already told me she didn't like trust me and i actually didn't even bother
31:58trying to convince kelly like i genuinely didn't care about the money anymore i just wanted to go home
32:02it was just it's very like emotional in there and it's i know it's a game and all but like

32:07genuinely just got to me and i was just like nah i just i'd rather just go home and let
32:10the let
32:11the guys play like like i feel it is important to to say like it is only a game and

32:17people um apart from siobhan mcswinney siobhan mcswinney is uh i'm a real boy a demigod of some kind
32:27from our perspective we have to push the boat so far with the faithfuls that like it probably does nearly
32:33become too much and you you just have to keep pressing so like you you say you don't want to
32:38say stuff but you ha you nearly have to push the boat so far to to try and like deceit
32:43them so it's
32:44it's terrible what we have to do and we definitely upset the girls along the way which we're sorry for
32:48and personally i never meant to do that but it's just part of it is just a game yeah and
32:52you just
32:52have to go that way and i think there is there is a place for like you know slagging on
32:59twitter and
33:00stuff like that but like just don't make it mean you can do it in a fun creative way
33:04i just want to talk to end that by saying like until you've been through what these lads have
33:17been through they're until you've been through what i've been through you're interrupted and all right
33:24like i was saying earlier like we went through it all together production went through it with you
33:29like it is so intense people be i behaved in a way that i don't recognize good bad or indifferent
33:38because you're in extremis you're in extremis and we're doing it for you for your entertainment

34:44coming at you the day before and all but it's like when it came to just ben it's like i

34:48logically it makes sense for nick to have recruited him or for them to have been working together
34:51but i just couldn't i couldn't fathom him being it and when he wrote that i just absolutely broke down
34:57because at that stage it's like it's no longer a game it's now it's money you know i mean like
35:01he's
35:02told me about his family he's told me about his kids told me about the plans that he has and
35:05it's
35:05like am i gonna actually do this to somebody i'm seeing as a friend it's about two personal i mean
35:09exactly and it's like i'm already an emotional wreck but that just that was it it done me like

35:24your spirits up yeah they actually didn't show it but we ended up playing hide and seek across the
35:29castle because obviously like there's 24 people to begin with like that castle was crowded like you
35:33couldn't walk into a room by yourself so like all of a sudden we realized there was five of us
35:37and
35:37we had the whole place to ourselves so it was literally like we were like kids in a playground
35:41running around the place hiding under the couch like it was like the cameraman trying to chase us
35:46yeah yeah yeah ben's like behind the door i didn't find him one day but i get pulled for an
35:51interview
35:51and the way is there looking for me for ages but i'm upstairs
35:53i'm like this is unbelievable i mean the other option was looking at ben and nick do you push-ups
36:00again like i mean well like me sitting on bed while he does it i'd love if uh wilkins was

36:07somehow in the castle when you're playing hide and seek he was now now ian the oracle you were so
36:15perceptive from the beginning wow but i was trying to think of it from a different point of view

37:41down the people's names who i thought were traders who could be traders and then people's names who i
37:45thought just couldn't and i actually had all the traders on the people that could be traders on my list
37:51so i kind of like work backwards that way and then yeah pretty much that's how it works yeah
