00:00You've surely heard someone say that eating healthy costs more than fast food, and while
00:05there is something to it, it's a matter of perspective and willingness to prep and stay
00:10healthy.
00:10According to Trading Economics, food prices in the U.S. increased 10.1% from last year,
00:17something we've all seen in our local grocery stores.
00:20But Bianca Tamburello, a registered dietitian at Fresh Communications, offers simple strategies
00:26like buying food in bulk. Large quantities of unprocessed foods will save money on meals
00:32since pre-portioned servings tend to be more costly.
00:36Eat more canned or frozen seafood. According to Insider, fish is a fantastic source of
00:41protein and important nutrients. Canned and frozen fish come in high variety and at an
00:46affordable price point.
00:48Add more plant-based protein like beans to your diet. Black beans on turkey or tacos, white
00:54beans on pasta, pinto beans on rice, or pretty much anything else. Beans can increase the
01:00number of servings you'll get out of a meal and add more protein and fiber to the mix.
01:05Between not shying away from the frozen fruits and veggies, freezing food when it's fresh,
01:10and making other little adjustments, there are ways to stay healthy and not spend a ton of
01:15time on it. All you have to be is determined.
