00:00Hello there.
00:01Welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:03For many parts of England and Wales, it does turn brighter this afternoon, but for Scotland
00:07and Northern Ireland, we continue to see a mix of sunshine and scattered showers.
00:12The very far south-eastern corner, however, of England, we may just hang on to the cloud
00:16and rain here for much of the afternoon, but for many parts of England and Wales, as I
00:21mentioned, apart from the odd shower, it's turning much brighter.
00:25The showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland could turn quite heavy at times, maybe even
00:29the odd rumble of thunder.
00:32But for all of us, it's going to be another fairly mild day, maybe not as warm as yesterday,
00:36but still highs reaching around 13 or 14 degrees across the south.
00:41Into the evening hours, again, the main focus of the showers will be across Scotland and
00:45Northern Ireland.
00:46Again, some of these could be heavy, maybe even a little bit wintry across the mountains
00:50of Scotland.
00:51They will sink their way a little bit further southwards, but for many southern counties of
00:55England, I think we should stay largely dry with some clear skies.
01:00Still quite a brisk wind around across the country, and that will help keep temperatures
01:04from falling too low.
01:05I think many towns and cities are not much lower than around 7 to 8 degrees, and in the
01:10south, you could see some places remain in double digits.
01:15So, Monday morning, we do start again with plenty of showers around, especially across Scotland
01:19and Northern Ireland.
01:20Still some brightness around, but down towards the south-west, we're starting to see a change
01:24as this next band of rain approaches.
01:26The wettest weather associated with this will be across Wales during the morning, and then
01:30into Northern Ireland throughout the afternoon.
01:33Behind it, it will bring in a lot of mist and murk, plenty of hill fog for south-western parts
01:38of England.
01:38But at the same time, we might start to just see the showers reduce across Scotland.
01:42So, here, maybe something a little bit drier and brighter developing for the afternoon.
01:46But for all of us, again, it's going to be another fairly mild day, temperatures in the
01:50south reaching the low teens, and even up across the north still into double figures.
01:57And then moving into the middle part of the week, it's actually going to turn even milder
02:01as we start to draw up winds from the south, and in a little bit of sunshine across the
02:05south, we could potentially see highs reaching the mid to high teens during Wednesday, but
02:10then that will be replaced with something a little bit fresher as we head towards the
02:14end of the week.
02:15But you can find out more details about the weather for the week ahead on our social media
02:18channels.
02:19But for me, for now, take care, and I'll see you again soon.
