00:00I think there is a real serious argument that he is not actually the best third baseman
00:07like all around in terms of bringing the glove, bat, the best, most productive third baseman
00:13that they can put out there.
00:14I think there's a real argument that Isak Paredes is.
00:18When we watched him, especially from the plate production wise, and Isak Paredes played a
00:22good defensive third base as well before he was injured.
00:26I think there's an argument there.
00:27But we all know, right, there is not a question who is going to be the everyday third baseman
00:35over there.
00:36Now, I'm not saying he's going to play 162, but he's probably going to try to play 150
00:42plus, and he is going to get days off and Paredes will play there.
00:46But the plan is for Carlos Correa for a multitude of reasons, but the plan is for him to be
00:53the
00:53everyday third baseman.
00:55And with the thought of, yo, there may be a dude over there that's better suited to be
01:01the everyday third baseman than you, I think Carlos Correa has some real pressure to produce.
01:07Because if we're looking over there and you start to see him and he has some slow starts
01:14and Los has had some slow starts before, and now I think this would be fine.
01:19Last year, his slash lines, 276, 332, 432, 13 home runs, 52 RBIs was what he did.
01:26Now, that wasn't in some areas what Paredes did, but I do think he has got to be productive
01:34because he's going to get some leeway because of who he is.
01:38But at some point, there's going to be like, yo, man, like this dude over here was an all-star
01:43at third base last year, man.
01:44Yeah, look, I think there's pressure on the organization to get it right, whether that's
01:48keep Isak Paredes and find a way to work him in, or move him and hope like hell that whatever
01:53you get in return produces enough to offset that.
01:56But yeah, look, I think not that Carlos Correa, Los Correa, not that he feels any level of this
02:03pressure at all, but I think the point that you make is valid.
02:06I think you're, you know, he was a plug-and-play guy and has proven now with the season rolling
02:13around to definitely be a plug-and-play guy when everybody's healthy.
02:17And, you know, with that, I think comes a lot of responsibility.
02:22And again, I don't think it's anything that Carlos is running from.
02:24Los, damn it.
02:25I don't think it's anything Los is running from.
02:27This is like show and run.
02:29Yeah, yeah, it's tough, man.
02:30I don't know why you guys do it to me.
02:31But, um, but no, I think, I think, I don't think he's going to feel any pressure, but
02:36I do believe, I agree with your point overall of like, Hey man, if he doesn't perform up
02:40to snuff, there could be some obvious conversations because you know what Isak Paredes, at least
02:46recently has done at third base position.
02:48Oh, Tyler, there is no chance.
02:50If we roll up in here, June, mid-June and low, and low.
02:59Los, sorry.
03:01Mid-June and low is like, he's just, I like you look at it and you're like, he's just,
03:08he's just, that we won't have people on this text line, YouTube and Twitch.
03:12Like, yo man, they got to put Paredes in.
03:15Especially if he is, if he is swinging the bat well in any of the chances he gets.
03:20So, I mean, I, I feel like, I feel like I know, I feel like I know some of y
03:24'all Houston
03:25fans.
03:26Y'all going, y'all going to be, y'all going to be even lows, even lows.
03:29Now this is Altuve.
03:30Altuve, he'll get.
03:31Hell, Altuve's ass got it for being in that outfield and struggling.
03:35Right.
03:36So I know, I know Correo is, so he, he better hit like this, like he cannot have the first
03:43three months be sitting there like two 50, you know, just over 300 on base and, and, you
03:49know, I think he can like, I mean, I mean, it's going to get noisy.
03:53It's going to get noisy, but no, no, I mean, it's going to be fun and it would be, it
03:56would
03:56be, it could be fun.
03:58Hopefully we don't deal with it, but it could be fun to cover that kind of controversy.
04:02But the reality of it is, is, is, I mean, I don't look, I think life without lows was
04:09different.
04:10Now that they got him back, I think he's untouchable at third base.
04:12Oh, I do.
04:13But, but to your point, if it's, he's in a position where the guy that he's replacing
04:19is still here, pretty damn productive.
04:21Yes.
04:21And he's still, and they're still trying to find ways to get in the lineup.
04:24Yeah.
04:24I mean, it'd be in our best interest of Carlos Correa rakes from the, from the word
04:28go.
04:28That'd be, that'd be big.
04:29Next line.
04:29What about trading pain?
04:30You know?
04:32It's your leadoff hitter, man.
04:33He's the youngest.
04:34I can't, I can't.
04:36I mean, it is a, I mean, it's a perfect setup.
04:41I'm not, look, I'm not one that believes the Astros should trade the East sock
04:45Paredes.
04:46I mean, I, I am, I am a okay with that bat and finding a way to keep it in
04:53the
04:53lineup as you rotate through the season.
04:55If look, if you want to now, now we know you can, you can slide out to be out to
04:59left field if you, if you want to just to get through one 62, as long as we, that's
05:03not a plan, a long-term plan.
05:04We, we, we have a year of experience experimenting with your second baseman, which I didn't like.
05:13I still don't like, but now that you have Isak Paredes sitting in the wings in a sense
05:17of he's going to be an Astro and you need to get that bat in the lineup, I want the
05:21Astros to do whatever they need to do defensively to make sure that the best lineup is, is in
05:26the ball game.
05:27The majority of the nights and whether we like it or not, which I, as I said, I'm not, I
05:32was
05:32not a big fan of it, but Altuve's ability to play outfield is big.
05:36I mean, Isak Paredes ability to play third, first and second is big.
05:44Yordan Alvarez's willingness and even his, his want to play more left field is big, man.
05:51And because this isn't a normal problem in 2026, where you got a bunch of guys that are
05:55ready to be load managed.
05:57I mean, Altuve expects a certain number of bats.
05:59I don't think he cares where they come from, but he expects a certain number of bats.
06:02Pena and Carlos Correa and, and Christian Walker, they, they going to want to play
06:07one 40.
06:08That's somebody just texted and said, why don't you, uh, well, if Correa is the everyday
06:12third baseman, just make Paredes the everyday first baseman.
06:15Well, they got a $20 million issue over the first that they didn't want to sit him down.
06:19Not only do you have a $20 million issue, you, you've got, yeah, you got a guy that, that
06:23it, I mean, at least the expectation is, I mean, he's one of your top five or six hitters
06:28and he's your best, he's your best defensive first baseman by far.
06:32And he's lost 15 pounds and he, and again, I know a lot of people like to poopoo and
06:38minimize this, but I, he's not Carlos Correa in my mind, but when it comes to the dude that
06:42grinds and works at his craft, he's setting the example that you want for all those outfielders
06:48that we don't know who's going to be worth the damn and who isn't like, he's the guy
06:51that you want on a daily basis, showing those guys what a professional looks like.
06:57And so, yeah, Christian Walker is the guy that's got to be in the lineup.
07:00We, we, we got to have him be a, a, a better or best version of himself.
07:05No doubt about it, but this is not, Esauk Brady should be an Astro.
07:11I don't think you, you even take anything less than what, what you command for him.
07:15Don't let anybody else dictate the, the, the, uh, you know, the, the, the trade or the value.
07:21And if you don't get it, then you got that additional bat.
07:23You've got plenty of opportunity to get him in the lineup and you'd have a hell of a lineup
07:26with him in it.
07:27Yep.
07:27Yeah.
07:28So yeah, there's a lot.
07:29I mean, am I crazy to think this boys?
07:31No.
07:31Like if they, if they find a way to put Esauk Brady's in his lineup again, whether that's
07:36Jordan playing more, that's Altuve playing left field, whatever it may be to get through
07:40one 62.
07:41If you've got your best bats in the lineup, the majority of nights, that's going to be one
07:47of the better lineups.
07:47But yeah, for them is how often they can get him in.
07:51Now I know you believe they can get him in every night, but it's how they want to be able
07:56to get him in.
07:57And there are other guys, they don't want to play in certain spots.
