00:00Yeah, this old Dirty's Daily today, it is powered by Oastro Granny, man.
00:05She is the only one I got.
00:07I can't trade her in.
00:08I was told that a long time ago, man.
00:09Mama, I love you, but damn it.
00:10Damn.
00:11Damn it, Granny.
00:12You gonna make me come into the city?
00:14You know, there's a real battle in my world, boys.
00:17Not a battle, but a real balancing act, maybe.
00:20You know, my wife, she comes from a home that I would say is pretty quiet.
00:27Folks are pretty mild-mannered.
00:30Folks speak pretty low tone.
00:33You know, the tone, the vibe is pretty easygoing.
00:36And she married into a family that it is all gas, no brakes.
00:43My mother is one of the loudest human beings I've ever been around.
00:46She is absolutely fearless to the point it scares me, always has scared me.
00:50I don't know how she's made it this far driving.
00:53Like I mentioned earlier, I almost had some road rage.
00:57She cuts it loose.
00:58I can't believe she's not been shot at.
01:00I cannot believe she's not been drug out of a car.
01:03Well, we come out of Cactus Jack's over on the east side of the night.
01:07And if you're not familiar with Cactus Jack's, big place.
01:10They do some live music in there.
01:11They got a bar.
01:12They got a big restaurant.
01:13They got a little play area for the kids.
01:14So it's our spot where we go with the kids.
01:16They got a great salad bar, too, Tyler.
01:17They do have a tremendous salad bar.
01:21Great spot for the kids.
01:22We always go in.
01:23Hey, set us by the playground.
01:25There's kids running around out there.
01:27Now, Granny goes from time to time.
01:29And Granny has – I wasn't there when this happened.
01:33But Granny damn near got in a fight on the playground for talking harsh to other kids that were running
01:39over my kids,
01:40which are her grandkids, obviously.
01:41Get the hell out of here.
01:42I was not there.
01:44However, the other night, boys, we're at Cactus Jack's having a good time.
01:49I think it was my two-year-old's – my four-year-old's actual birthday.
01:52We went to Cactus Jack's.
01:55We do a little joint birthday party for them.
01:56So on their actual birthdays, we just take them to eat, which really turns into mainly adults having a few
02:02adult beverages and then play.
02:04So we're leaving.
02:05And you got to picture this, right?
02:07I'm on the passenger side of the vehicle putting my two-year-old in her seat, in her car.
02:12My wife is on the driver's side of the vehicle putting our four-year-old in that particular car seat.
02:20My mother had exited our conversation and walked behind the car on the driver's side in that direction.
02:28So I could not see my mother.
02:31I couldn't see Astro Granny.
02:33Right?
02:34So I got the two-year-old about in the car.
02:37And my wife, she looks up.
02:39And I hear a little commotion.
02:40And she looks up.
02:40And she's dead serious.
02:42My wife is not – she doesn't like confrontation.
02:44She's not comfortable.
02:45I can tell she's a little rattled.
02:48Not quite CJ Stroud rattled, but rattled.
02:50I can tell she's a little rattled.
02:51Unnecessary.
02:51Well, it was true.
02:52I mean, she was rattled.
02:54More like maybe Drake May in the Super Bowl.
02:56But she was rattled.
02:58But she said, Clint, your mother is yelling at some guy in the parking lot.
03:02Oh, my God.
03:04So I immediately closed the door with my two-year-old.
03:06I can hear her saying it, too.
03:07I closed the door.
03:08I can hear her saying it, too.
03:09Hey, Ron, I closed the door.
03:11And I go to walk around the back of this truck.
03:13Well, before I even get around the back of my truck, a pickup truck with a full of – it's
03:19a family and a guy driving.
03:20I would say early to mid-90s extended cab Chevrolet.
03:25Kind of beat up.
03:26Pretty loaded up with people.
03:29No car payment.
03:30I didn't catch the car payment.
03:32But I'm walking towards the back of my rig.
03:34And he literally stops where I'm walking right towards him.
03:37And he's getting out of his vehicle and yelling back at Mom.
03:42Oh, now at this point, it don't even matter.
03:45No, it doesn't matter.
03:46But, like, I don't – I still haven't seen what's back there and what's going on.
03:50Like, I don't know if my mom – I don't know if she's ran over.
03:52I don't know if she's – I don't know what the hell's going on.
03:54Right?
03:55So I turn the corner and I look at my mom.
03:57Well, my mom is standing in the middle of the road.
03:59And she's got two hands in the air.
04:01And she's giving this guy – she's MFing this guy.
04:04I'm going to come over there and whoop that ass.
04:05She's cut.
04:06Oh, yeah.
04:06Yeah.
04:07She's full of Linda mode.
04:09She's saying something.
04:10Because the guy was yelling back.
04:12The guy was yelling back.
04:13And there was a Hispanic lady that didn't speak English – I mean, not very clearly anyway.
04:17She was shook.
04:18And she had two little kids.
04:20And the guy gets out of his car.
04:22And he's like, keep your MFing kids out of the street.
04:26And so I start thinking.
04:28Before I say it, you know, I'm just like – I'm trying to process it all.
04:31I'm like, well, my mom ain't got no kids.
04:32You have had a hell of a 24 hours.
04:34No, this happened a few days ago.
04:36Oh, okay.
04:36But I'm like – I'm trying to process what's going on.
04:39So in my mind, I only think –
04:40That could be coming from yours.
04:41I just got to – it ain't no talking about my kids.
04:43No.
04:44It's clear he was talking about the Hispanic lady.
04:46Because they – apparently one of his kids ran out in the street.
04:49And my mom was defending the kids, telling him to slow his ass down is what happened.
04:53So I immediately just realized, like, my mom is the aggressor in this deal.
04:58But now Buddy done stopped and got out.
05:00And he's MFing my mom and his kid, everybody.
05:02I said, whoa, whoa, whoa.
05:04I said, hey, hey, hey.
05:04What's going on here, man?
05:06And he immediately turns to me and he said, you know what?
05:08You're right.
05:08I shouldn't have got out of the car.
05:10I should not have got out of the car.
05:11Thank you for holding me accountable, man.
05:12I should not have got out of the car.
05:13What?
05:14That's exactly what he said.
05:15You didn't even say – you just said –
05:17I just said, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, man.
05:18What the hell is going on here?
05:19You know, he didn't – and I was – he didn't know that I knew the ladies.
05:22He didn't know that it was my mom.
05:22We were coming from two different directions.
05:25And, like, he just immediately went into, you know what, like, just, like, common sense.
05:30It wasn't even like, okay, I was fixing to yell at these women, but a man walked up.
05:33Now, it wasn't even like a fear thing.
05:35It was just like a, you know what?
05:37You're right.
05:37I shouldn't be standing out of this car.
05:38I'm out here yelling at a 75-year-old, a Hispanic lady that's probably early 30s,
05:43with two little kids and my family in the car.
05:45And the whole time his wife's going, get in the car.
05:47Is he yelling at him?
05:48Yeah, she's telling him to get in the car.
05:49So you walk up.
05:51I mean, it was one of those, like –
05:53Oh, God.
05:53What was it like?
05:54The best part of it all, though, Ron, is like – you know my wife.
05:57The best part of it all is, like, it's a constant battle with – not – battle's not the right
06:03word.
06:03But it's a constant, like, my wife is always worried about confrontation because my mom does stuff like this.
06:13And this was validation of, like, my wife's like, see, I told you.
06:16See, I told you.
06:17I'm just – I'm going, damn, Astro Granny, you about got me in a fight to get in the parking
06:21lot.
06:21I can hear everybody saying everything they said.
06:24Ron, this is our place, man.
06:25We go here all the time.
06:26Slow down.
06:27Slow down, you a-hole.
06:29Yeah.
06:29No, Mom, what are we doing?
06:31I missed that part.
06:32And let me get you this right here real quick, though, Ron.
06:35Let me get you – I did not because I didn't want to – I did not want to –
06:39I didn't want to egg it on.
06:42Right?
06:42I didn't want to – I didn't want to – at first, my initial response when my mom does stuff
06:47like that is to get mad at her.
06:49Right?
06:49For putting me in harm's way, yelling at somebody in the deal.
06:54Now, if they approach her about it, cool.
06:56Then I got you back.
06:57But I don't need you out here starting crap in the –
06:59Well, you got it anyway.
07:00I got it anyway.
07:01Correct.
07:02Correct.
07:02I got it anyway.
07:03But the point is, is like – like I need you – I don't need you to bring this stuff
07:08to me, right?
07:09Because that could have gone down.
07:11This is what she hits me with, Ron.
07:13I didn't say anything.
07:15About 30 minutes later, she hits me with this.
07:18Thanks for stepping out when you did.
07:19You saved that old boy from an ass whooping.
07:24Not me.
07:25You saved him.
07:26Hey.
07:26Not a – not a – not a – not a, hey, man, tell Lowe I'm sorry for putting you
07:30on that situation.
07:31Or, hey, man, sorry – that was – that was a little – I hate that.
07:34She did nothing wrong.
07:35He's flying through the parking lot.
07:37You saved that old boy.
07:37Somebody got to hold him accountable.
07:38You saved that old boy.
07:39Literally, thanks for stepping out when you did.
07:42You saved that old boy from an ass whooping.
07:43I hate to tell you.
07:44And so anybody out there that don't think that I'll walk over and give you an ass whooping,
07:47at least the line ain't real.
07:49It's –
07:49Do you – like what do you think happens, though, in that moment?
07:52Do you think she goes over there and tries him herself,
07:55or does she just get on the horn to you or the rest of the crew?
07:59Well, that's –
07:59To go through.
08:00Because I –
08:00No, she would have tried.
08:02She thinks she's 10 foot tall and bulletproof.
08:04Still.
08:05And not –
08:06It ain't nothing changed.
08:07And not one thing has changed.
08:09I watched her – I watched her bend an old fraternity kid at a concert one night in Fayetteville.
08:15I watched her – she – he kind of – he didn't – he thought it was one of his
08:17buddies.
08:18And he was up at the stage.
08:20And, you know, like if you're at the buddies and somebody's kind of crowding you a little bit,
08:22you just kind of give him a little elbow.
08:23You know, well, she walked up there and she was going to give the singer a beer.
08:26She had a beer, a bucket of beer.
08:27And she was reaching over to give him a beer.
08:29You know, well, that old frat kid, that young kid elbowed her.
08:31Like, make it the hell off me kind of deal.
08:32She took that kid by the back of his head and bent him over the rail in front of the
08:35deal
08:36and handed the musician a beer like this.
08:38And then what happened after that?
08:39The musician said, you done pushed the wrong one, didn't you, big boy?
08:45Shout out to my boy Blue Edmondson, who's back on the road and back doing his thing.
08:49Man, if you get a chance to catch Blue Edmondson, do it, man.
08:51He's really good.
08:53So, but yeah, Astro Granny, man, she'll keep you on your toes, man.
08:57She's one of a kind.
08:57Oh, glad you cleaned it up.
08:59Always got her back, no question about it, my mom.
09:01But I would prefer her to keep me.
09:02It's depending on what the conversation is afterwards after you had the back.
09:06I would rather my mother not get me shot because she runs off at the mouth.
09:10That would help me.
09:11That would help me there raise these babies.
09:12But.
09:13But.
09:13. . .
