00:00The Port Authority says the Inter-Island Seabridge is currently supported by one containerized cargo vessel and three passenger ferries.
00:08Since the removal of the MV Cabo Star from service in January, contingency arrangements were introduced, including the use of
00:16a barge and the publication of revised sailing schedules.
00:19The authority confirmed that the Blue Wave Harmony returned to service on February 10th following recertification and is operating under
00:28a phased sea trial process.
00:30The vessel provides nearly 1,925 meters of cargo lean space and is equipped with 31 refrigerated cargo connections.
00:39Officials say cargo sailings operate on a structured night schedule, with loading windows between 10 a.m. and 2 p
00:47.m. and extended access for refrigerated units later in the afternoon.
00:52The Port Authority also stated that once trucks are staged on the terminal yard, drivers are not required to remain
00:59on site until departure.
01:01Responding to concerns about cargo backlogs, the authority says that since the Blue Wave Harmony resumed the sailings, all scheduled
01:09cargo shipments have been accommodated and no trucks have remained at the Port of Spain terminal after departure.
01:15The authority maintains that booking procedures remain standardized and transparent and that sailing schedules continue to be publicly available.
