00:00Gold stars, Team USA shocks Canada, an OT thriller, and Lou wins first American title in 24 years.
00:08USA, USA, USA!
00:13The storybook ending is now complete for the USA women's hockey team and Captain Hillary Knight, and of course, Alyssa
00:21Lou.
00:21It's not the what for me, y'all. It's the how and the why.
00:25It's the journeys and the stories, but how they did it.
00:29These gold medals represent everything we young athletes signed up for when we dedicated our lives and our crafts and
00:37our gifts to the sport.
00:38And there's an underlying theme behind these golds that I feel like every young kid out there should know and
00:46prepare for within their own sports journey.
00:48And that is the art of the comeback.
00:51The women's hockey team lost to Canada in the Olympic final in Beijing.
00:56Then they go down 1-0 in the second period to pretty much the same team, and then rally to
01:02beat them 2-1 in overtime to win the gold.
01:05That's their version of the movie Miracle.
01:08That's them completing the comeback.
01:11I expect some sort of Netflix documentary out of this one.
01:14On the flip side, less than two years after coming out of retirement, Alyssa Lou captured America's first medal in
01:22women's figure skating in 20 years and our first gold in 24 years.
01:27History is now attached to her story.
01:31She's now the eighth American to win gold in women's figure skating.
01:35So when you question Lindsey Vonn's decision to come back from an injury, during a comeback from retirement and a
01:43prior injury, and then risk her health and her future to compete to try and win it all just one
01:50last time, there you have it.
01:53Team USA and Alyssa Lou just showed you your why.
01:56You have your answer.
01:57We'd rather risk it all and try and write the finish to our own story.
02:03Congrats to all the Olympic medalists and competitors, repping the red, white, and blue.
02:08USA isn't done ring chasing out in Milan, so stay up to date with all things Winter Olympics by heading
02:14to newyorkpost.com slash sports.
