00:01PKR Deputy President Rafi Z. Romney claims that bots are being used by certain candidates

00:06running in the party's central leadership elections, lamenting that this makes PKR look

00:11like UMNO.

00:13The Pandan MP said he had a team conducting social media data analysis, which, a few months

00:18ago, detected the use of bots to boost the numbers of reactions on social media to postings

00:23by government ministries and agencies.

00:26He said this had spilled over into the PKR elections, clipping that the party now had a division

00:31in Vietnam, a reference to the registered location of one of those bot accounts.

00:36Adding that his social media platforms were also flooded with bot accounts, Rafi Z blamed

00:40the practice on newer members and called on PKR to be extra careful in recruiting new members.

00:47Rafi Z is in a one-on-one contest with Nurul Iza for the PKR Deputy Presidency, which he won

00:52in the 2022 party elections.

00:54Nurul Iza, who did not contest then, is currently an appointed party vice president.
