00:05Catherine
00:09Yes Thomas, as you said, VivaTech, Europe's biggest innovation and start-up event
00:14but inviting innovators and start-ups from all around the world
00:18and this year, the country of the year is South Korea
00:22and I've brought you to see one start-up that particularly caught my eye
00:28as an animal lover, hopefully you and our viewers are as well
00:31It's called PetNow, it's based in Seoul, South Korea
00:34and I'm here with brand strategist Chaewon Shin
00:38who's going to tell us what is your start-up about
00:40Of course, hello
00:42So as you can see, it's a pet tech start-up based in South Korea
00:46and we're called PetNow and we offer an AI-driven identification for dogs and cats
00:51So speaking easily, as humans have fingerprints
00:55Every dog and cat has its own unique nose print
00:58Nose print, how do you get a nose print from a dog or a cat?
01:02So all you need to do with our apps is to scan a dog's nose or a cat's face through
01:09our app
01:09and that's it, that easy
01:12Fabulous, and so your app has just launched recently in France and in other European territories
01:19So what are you here at Viva Tech, why are you here, what are you looking for?
01:23So we're looking for a number one, we're looking for a great network
01:29regarding pet insurance companies
01:32and national pet registry system
01:35government officials and pet boarding services
01:39all things pet related actually
01:42So it's for pet owners who obviously want to keep track on where their dog or cat is
01:47Also, I guess it's less invasive than microchipping
01:50It is true because microchips need a needle injection
01:54but through our app, all you need is a phone and our app
01:58and the AI inside the app will do all the job for you
02:01Fantastic, now I know that you're a relatively new company
02:04you only started in 2018 I think
02:07but you have already won an innovation award, quite a prestigious one
02:10if you want to tell us about that
02:11So last year at CES in Las Vegas
02:14we won best of innovation awards
02:16which was the only Korean startup at that year
02:20So I mean, so the best of innovation is the greatest prize at CES
02:25So we've got a lot of attention through this, thankfully
02:29and so now we could showcase a better version of app right now
02:34So at that time we only showcased a dog's nose print scanning feature
02:38but now we do have a cat facial recognition feature
02:42which is the world's first and only
02:44So we're very proud of it
02:46It's very innovative
02:47and of course so many people do have dogs and cats
02:50and dogs and cat owners are very keen to keep their pets safe, of course
02:54Thank you so much for showing us your app
02:56and for showing us your very cute dog and cat models there
03:00With that we'll send it back to you in the studio, Thomas
03:03Thank you, Catherine
03:04A dog and cat facial recognition
03:06that's completely something
