01:11A solution like this shows that both we're capable of addressing these issues in innovative ways
01:17and that the Tunisians themselves and North Africans have the capabilities
01:20to provide solutions to such stressing issues in the world.
01:24OK.
01:24And what do you think of the question of energy ?
01:27Is this going to consume a lot of energy to produce water,
01:29like salinity, for example, desalination,
01:31or is this an energy efficient solution ?
01:36So, this machine has been created to work perfectly with solar energy.
01:39We are always encouraging people to be fully sustainable and fully autonomous.
01:43However, when it's using normal energy, it is able to produce water
01:47as a rather efficient rate when comparing to other solutions.
01:51OK.
01:51Hedy, thanks so much.
01:52I'm just going to take you to have a look at some of the other parts of the Tunisian
01:56ecosystem.
01:57We've got a whole bunch of, in all Tunisia, we've got 11 start-ups.
02:01Here, we've got an operation using the Internet of Things.
02:04Here, it's about artificial intelligence, improving the consumer predictions.
02:10And, sorry, if I could just come in here.
02:12We've got, hello, we've got DeepVault and Karim Jati.
02:17Karim, tell us a bit more about your product.
02:20It's to do with providing solutions to make a better use of electric vehicles
02:25and charging points, not for the user, but for the big companies themselves.
02:29So, yeah, we have big companies.
02:30We have charge point operators, energy companies, utility companies,
02:33and municipalities find the best locations to install EV charging stations
02:37all over Europe.
02:38We have an AI model that predicts EV charging demand in any given new location
02:42in Europe, and we are a team of tech geeks and tech enthusiasts from Tunisia
02:48that are based in Tunisia and operating and selling in Europe today.
02:51So, just this is a massive milestone for our startup.
02:54We just launched our MVP during Viva Technology event.
02:58Tell me a bit more about the value that you're hoping to provide for Tunisia.
03:02Is this a product that's for Tunisia, or is it a product that's for Europe
03:06and part of the different ecosystems around the world here at VivaTech?
03:10So, our product is global, but because of the market dynamics, today there's a demand
03:15for an optimized EV charging infrastructure over Europe.
03:18So, we're adapting our solution and our product to the market seat,
03:21but eventually the demand will be coming from Tunisia and other countries
03:25in the Middle East and in Africa as well, and will be ready to solve these markets
03:29when there's a demand from their side.
03:31Oh, one final question. What are you hoping to achieve here at VivaTech?
03:34This is, you are part of the Tunisian delegation.
03:37Is it important for you to represent Tunisia, to represent Africa here at VivaTech?
03:43Absolutely. We have the Tunisian flag with us, we have the Tunisian flag,
03:47and our hope is to take our startup and our product to the next level
03:51and adapt and get our first customers from this event.
03:54What do you think you can achieve for Tunisia with this kind of product?
03:58If the product itself is more for European customers,
04:01how do you contribute to Tunisia itself?
04:04We are based and operating in Tunisia, so we are hiring Tunisian talent in Tunisia
04:08and also improving the economy in there and giving opportunities
04:11to young people and young talented people in there.
04:13Thank you, Karim Machati.
04:14Karim Machati, thank you so much of DeepVault.
04:16As you can see, an extremely diverse ecosystem both in Tunisia
04:21but also here for the VivaTech and its Africa Tech Hub.
04:25Over to you, Marjorie.
04:27Well, Luke, what can I say? Tunisia represents, right?
04:30We'll definitely catch up with you in a few more minutes, but for now…
