00:00Former Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has accused the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission of conducting a politically motivated investigation against him.
00:10He said it was launched in retaliation after he called for the suspension of MACC Chief Commissioner Azambaki over allegations
00:18involving his shareholdings and misconduct within the anti-graft agency.
00:23The Pandan MP said the claims against him relate to two major policies, the Silicon Vision Program and the National
00:30Energy Transition Roadmap, both approved at multiple levels, including the Cabinet.
00:36Rafizi said the Economy Ministry was responsible only for planning and had no authority over procurement or contracts.
00:43He said the initiatives were carried out by the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and
00:51private sector companies such as UEM Leicester.
00:54Rafizi said the draft agreement with UK-based semiconductor company Arm Holdings was approved by the Attorney General's chambers and
01:02the Cabinet,
01:03and that claims the deal was rushed suggested he had deceived the Prime Minister, ministers, senior officials and the Attorney
01:10General.
01:10He said the allegation was illogical because the Cabinet is chaired by the Prime Minister
01:15and it would imply the Prime Minister was negligent or did not understand the semiconductor industry and was misled by
01:21him.
