Bicycling's Dan Chabanov gives his take on choosing a tire pressure calculator.
Transcript
00:00All right, so tire pressure calculators are great for trying to figure out a tire pressure for you, right?
00:06But there's a bunch of different ones out there. There's three that I really like to use.
00:10There's Silca, Wolf Tooth, and SRAM.
00:13And I like to use them for different things.
00:15Silca is my go-to for figuring out tire pressure on the road or for performance applications such as racing.
00:21It tends to prioritize kind of like speed and rolling resistance above comfort and other factors.
00:28Wolf Tooth is my go-to for when I'm riding off-road, when I'm riding in a very cold or
00:35very hot place because it has temperature compensation.
00:38And it tends to recommend lower pressure, so I like it for when I'm looking for grip and comfort.
00:45SRAM is my go-to for when I'm riding a hookless wheel because it accounts for the upper limit of
00:52hookless tire pressure, which is 72 PSI.
00:55So if you're riding a hookless rim, which you should know if you are, SRAM is your go-to.
