00:00Carnival celebrations 2026 in Venezuela are marked by the citizens going to different
00:04places throughout the city to enjoy with family and friends.
00:07From Caracas in the Coche Parish, our correspondent Brian Mir tells us more.
00:13Across Venezuela, people are enjoying the carnival holiday.
00:17In Caracas, the city parks are full of families holding picnics and kids playing in sprinklers
00:22and public swimming pools.
00:26I like the park, I like spending time with my brothers and sisters, I really like the
00:32slides and the sprinklers and I also like being with my family.
00:38In parks across the city, the government has set up tents with facilitators organizing traditional
00:43children's games like sack races and hula hoops, as families enjoy the peace and tranquility
00:48that comes with an economy that has been growing for 19 consecutive quarters and the lowest crime
00:54rates in recent memory.
00:58Our goal is to bring laughter and joy to the children, to adults, senior citizens and all
01:03those children who need a good life and also want to have fun.
01:07During the night in Carnival there are musical performances and masked balls for adults, but
01:13the daytime activities are focused on children who learn about Carnival traditions while engaging
01:18in activities like making their own masks and face painting.
01:25We are in the Coche Parish at Hugo Chavez Frias Park celebrating Carnival in peace, in love,
01:30in harmony with our communities, with our children, grandparents and young people, holding
01:34a series of workshops here in visual arts, painting, crafts, dance, theater and music so that our people
01:40feel happy and are looking forward to the imminent arrival of our President Nicolás Maduro and
01:44the First Combatant Celia Flores.
01:47According to tradition, Carnival ends at noon on Ash Wednesday.
