00:07Federal Court Judge Ahmad Teri Rudin Saleh to the Judicial Appointments Commission three months ago.
00:12The statutory body is seeking an order of certiorari from the High Court to quash the Prime Minister's decision to
00:19appoint Teri Rudin.
00:21It also wants a mandamus order to compel the Prime Minister to exercise his prerogative to appoint a member to
00:27the JAC in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, established conventions and the Judicial Appointments Commission Act 2009.
00:34In the application filed last week, the Bar also sought another mandamus order for the establishment of a Royal Commission
00:41of Inquiry to investigate allegations against Teri Rudin with the findings to be made public.
00:46It likewise wants to compel Teri Rudin to show cause and disclose the basis on which the Prime Minister appointed
00:53him to sit on the JAC.
00:55The Bar also wants the High Court to declare that the decision to appoint Teri Rudin was unlawful, null and
01:01void,
01:01and is seeking an order to state the appointment pending the disposal of the judicial review proceedings.
