00:00Now, say whatever you want about the city of Seattle, don't matter to me.
00:03Beautiful town, right?
00:04This is a day where they're having a parade.
00:07And the mayor of Seattle came out and said that public schools are open.
00:13And we will not tolerate or accept any absences from any of our public school children, K-12.
00:21Can't speak for private schools, they run by their own system, obviously, like in every other city.
00:25But if you do not go to school today because you and your dad or you and your mom or
00:30an uncle or your family is celebrating your second ever Super Bowl championship and you want to be a part
00:37of the downtown parade and enjoy a Super Bowl championship, which is a rite of passage for a lot of
00:45fathers and sons.
00:46And a day that you will remember for the rest of your lives.
00:50Long after your mom or dad or family passes away, you'll tell stories at Thanksgiving.
00:55Remember when dad and I went to the parade?
00:57What a great moment that was.
00:59And this is the type of thing that a mayor should understand.
01:03Because I'm sure she'll be at the parade and she'll be introducing Mike McDonald and everybody else, right?
01:09How do you tell public school kids that they are not allowed to attend the parade?
01:14And if they do not go to class or school today, it's going to be a little knock on their
01:20report card and on their attendance.
01:22Yeah.
01:22Like, come on, Seattle.
01:24Get this right.
01:25You did something that is very hard to do.
01:28Yeah.
01:28You won a Super Bowl.
01:30And it's a likable team and a likable head coach and a likable quarterback.
01:34And you've got legions of Seahawks fans who want to be wherever they do their parade.
01:40I just say downtown because it makes sense in my head.
01:43Who want to join their fellow fans and community members and neighbors to enjoy and celebrate a Super Bowl championship.
01:51How do you not tell those kids, you go enjoy that because you deserve it?
01:56Yeah, it's unbelievable.
01:58Now, I can compare it to the recent parades.
02:00Last year in Philadelphia, all the kids were allowed to be off.
02:03And I'm not sure who the mayor was last year, but they said, go to the parade.
02:07Yeah, yeah.
02:08Cheryl Parker made it very clear.
02:10That was the name of the mayor.
02:11She introduced, she actually spoke too long, but that's a whole separate thing.
02:14And yes, and they were all there.
02:15And the other part was there were a couple South Jersey principals.
02:18Did the same?
02:19Leading up to the week.
02:20Okay.
02:21Who were saying you can't wear Eagle stuff to school.
02:23Come on.
02:24They got the principals up out of there.
02:26Did they?
02:26Like, because so many parents were upset.
02:28Like, what do you mean?
02:29It's the Friday before the Super Bowl.
02:31For those of you that don't know why he's saying South Jersey, because there's parts
02:34of South Jersey, which it's literally 50 yards away from Philadelphia.
02:38Right.
02:38So, South Jersey is considered part of the Philadelphia metro.
02:41Exactly.
02:41From a fan standpoint.
02:42Right.
02:43And they tried that, and they got the principals up out of there.
02:46It's unbelievable.
02:47And what it shows is, at the end of the day, regardless of her politics, she's not a regular
02:52person.
02:52Yes.
02:53I'm with you on that.
02:53She's not a regular person.
02:54She does it.
02:55Like, she's going to take advantage of the opportunity.
02:58Of course.
02:58There's going to be a million people downtown for the parade.
03:00Of course.
03:00Whatever Seattle's got.
03:02But why would you rob, you know, innocent kids who want to enjoy a moment with a family
03:07member, a dad, a mom, whomever, from celebrating something great?
03:11Like winning a Super Bowl.
03:12I've never experienced it, obviously.
03:14You have, and you've been to a couple in the last decade, where I've never experienced
03:18any of that.
03:19It's something intangibly special for a community and for a city.
03:24And to come out and be so tone deaf, you know, to say that we are not accepting any absences
03:31for kids today outside of a proven sickness with like an actual note from a doctor, that
03:38if you play hooky from school today with your parents to go down to the parade, that is going
03:43to count as an unexcused absence from school.
03:47Could you be more tone deaf?
03:48I mean, she can't.
03:49She cannot.
03:50Yeah.
03:51Like, she shouldn't run for re-election because at the end of the day, she doesn't care about
03:56her constituents.
03:57Yeah.
03:58She doesn't care about them.
03:58Yes.
03:59And by the way, I've taken my shots at Seattle.
04:01And Seattle fans, you deserve this moment and you should be there to enjoy it.
