00:00Let's get to our buzzer beater with Adam Silver talking expansion?
00:12So Adam Silver decided that he wanted to talk about expansion.
00:16Let's get to his comments and then I'll comment on that.
00:18My sense is at the March Board of Governors meetings, we'll be having further discussions around an expansion process.
00:25We won't be voting at the March meeting, but we will likely come out of those meetings ready, prepared to
00:32take a next step in terms of potentially talking to interested parties.
00:37No, it doesn't have to be a two-team expansion.
00:40Frankly, it doesn't have to be any number of teams.
00:43I think the logical next move would be to say, all right, we've had those discussions internally.
00:48We've made decisions about cities to focus on and what the opportunity is, and now we've got to go out
00:53into the marketplace.
00:54And I think that's probably the most important step to find out who is potentially interested in owning a franchise
01:02in particular cities.
01:04What's the value of that franchise?
01:06There's some work to do in terms of potential conference realignment.
01:10So that's the next step there.
01:13Folks, they're going to expand, and they're going to expand to two teams.
01:16And the teams that are in cities that we're looking at is Seattle, which was great with the Seattle Supersonics.
01:22I think they should have never lost their team.
01:24And you're probably looking at Las Vegas because every other pro sport has been there.
01:28From there, you're going to get some kind of realignment.
01:31You're going to have to move probably a team to the west.
01:34You could go geographically.
01:35You could probably look at Memphis being a team moved east, maybe New Orleans being moved east.
01:41But expansion is here.
01:42It is needed, and they need to get back to Seattle soon because they deserve a franchise back.
