00:00So just start by like extracting the positives for Hideki, you know, obviously disappointed to lose.
00:04But what do you take away good from this week if you can't if you aren't able to lift the trophy at the end of it?
00:10Well, it's got a it has to sting, you know, for Hideki to not win this golf tournament.
00:15He did so many amazing, great things, veteran things on a Sunday where he didn't have it.
00:23And so often when players don't have their best on a Sunday in the final group, they don't win the golf tournament.
00:29There's too many other good players that are playing well on Sunday.
00:32And Hideki found, you know, three putts on the front nine where he made over 20 feet, two for par, one for birdie.
00:39And you're just like this guy is he just won't stop.
00:42You know, he's it was it was so fun to watch because you just felt like he was going to make these putts.
00:49And and these screens, too, they're not easy to read.
00:52They're very subtle. They roll perfectly.
00:54But Hideki seemed to be on point with them really the entire week.
00:58But, yeah, you said it. The the ball striking never looked it looked crisp at times like he would he would swing long iron to you're just like, whoa, that was so flush.
01:09And then other times throughout the week, it just felt like he was not quite all the way there on a specific shot shape with the driver.
01:16Like it was left misses at times. Then he would be pushing.
01:20It's a two way misses that were that were just enough to they weren't bad enough for the most part to get him in trouble besides really the second hole.
01:27You know, he was pretty good about keeping the ball relatively in play, playing the angles, which you had to do.
01:35You had to play the angles out there, missing it on the right or the correct side of the fairway.
01:39But then eventually just it just bit him.
01:41You know, it was you know, he ran out of luck, I should say, because it really did feel like he had a horseshoe in his bag throughout the whole day,
01:50catching some breaks and and just making the most of what he had.
01:54And I thought it was going to be enough to win the golf tournament.
01:56I really did because of how composed he remained throughout the day.
02:02Just just stoic, man. And there's a reason why he's a major champion.
02:06There's a reason why he's won 10 plus times on the PGA Tour.
02:08And we saw it firsthand yesterday. It's a shame he didn't get it done because it would have really been a cool testament of just how incredible of a golfer overall.
02:19Well, Hideki is top to bottom. The the shot he hit from the desert on 13 was just unbelievable.
02:28He hits it right again. And it was funny.
02:30They showed a replay after where he like backs into a cactus or some sort of prickly bush.
02:34So, oh, what's going on there? Slings this high cut.
02:38I you know, it's just again, it's if you are if you're driving at that poorly, the ability to.
02:44Oh, here we go. Hold on. We're having some some fun tech stuff here on the stream is he's back.
02:49You're back. You're back. I don't know what that was all about, but we saved it.
02:52Hello. Hello. Hello again.
02:54But yeah, I mean, just just that shot on 13, I think, was a great encapsulation of that's how you make it to a playoff at 16.
03:04Right. If you have nothing off the tee. And that's pretty, pretty impressive stuff.
03:08So the place I want to go to next, as mentioned, there's a question here, just thoughts on spectator interruptions affecting Hideki.
03:17And I think it's this is such an interesting topic because it's specific to what happened to him.
03:23And if you did not see, you know, don't overreferencing here, there were two shots that were obviously very pivotal down the stretch that that he was interrupted in the middle of playing him.
03:34So the first was on the 18th hole. He's got a par putt that would win him the tournament.
03:38Someone yells something in the middle of a stroke. He stops and replays it.
03:42The second was on the tee in the playoff. He tells like a Tiger Woods, like pumps it and the downswing and stops it.
03:51And I think that so in the social media, you know, people covering reporting, trying to gather what happened, piecing together videos out there.
03:59And all this, of course, unverifiable, we can find on it is that the first one was intentional.
04:05It was maybe someone that was streaming.
04:06We had streamer issues earlier in the week where a guy was out there, paid someone $100 to yell something in McKenzie Hughes backswing.
04:14The second was a very unfortunate accident, as far as we can tell, with a security guard dropping a chair on accident in the middle of a swing.
04:22But I just want to talk about this event in general and the crowds it generates, because I think that, you know, similar to life, not everything is just a black and white situation, right?
04:34Two things can be true. The first thing can be true that the Thunderbirds put on an amazing event out there that does some great stuff for the community.
04:41It's a really fun event. It's a unique atmosphere that played one time a year like this.
04:45A lot of guys can enjoy the sort of change of pace and the energy it brings, right?
04:50That can be true. What also can be true is because it's a unique event, you're you're inviting a fan in that might not be a golf fan.
05:00They might not have a ton of appreciation or understanding of the etiquette that surrounds the game.
