00:00He was playing with a lot of confidence in his golf swing over the weekend.
00:04I think the stat that Nance gave was no player has made more birdies in 36 holes on a weekend than Kurt Kitayama.
00:11And it's been 20 years since somebody's made that many birdies on the weekend.
00:16I just was blown away.
00:18And 23 under is obviously a big number.
00:20And to make birdie on your 18th hole on Friday to make the cut by one and then to go on the tear that he did.
00:28I mean, if he didn't follow the golf tournament and hadn't looked at his scorecard, you'll get confidence for yourself just going to look at the scorecard.
00:36He shot 28-29 on the front side in back-to-back days, which is just the most absurd thing ever.
00:43He shot 60 on Saturday with a bogey on 17.
00:46He also bogeyed 17 on Sunday.
00:50It's just, you know, I guess to sum it up, Charlie, is that I'm not surprised to see him win this weekend.
00:57I'm actually a little disappointed that I wasn't recommending Kurt Kitayama.
01:02There have been signs.
01:04There's been him popping up on the leaderboard recently, if you've been paying attention.
01:09He's had two decent weeks in a row, played Gooden over at the Isco.
01:13He finished top five at the Deer, another top five earlier in the summer.
01:17And so when you look at all that and you hear all the things that Como was telling Trevor about, you're just like, OK, yeah.
01:26A young player who's already proven to win on the PGA Tour gets his confidence back and then has a field that's, you know, a little watered down field.
01:37But the shoot, I mean, there was some really good play at the top.
01:40It was really cool to see him come out victorious this week.
