00:00All righty. Here we go. Road trip.

00:13Today I'm going to be working on a 1965 Mustang.

00:17The Mustang is a sexy car and making it electric is even sexier.

00:20I really want to get this Volkswagen Type 2 out of here,

00:23but the Mustang client has a wedding in a week

00:26and I don't want to let him down.

00:28For me, there's a nostalgia for a 65 Mustang.

00:31I owned one at one time.

00:33This 1965 Mustang is the first generation of this iconic pony car.

00:39Originally this car had a 289 with 225 horsepower

00:43and can do 0-60 in 8.3 seconds.

00:47My goal is to double the horsepower

00:50and have this thing do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds.

00:53It just doesn't feel like it should.

00:59Something's weird.

01:00Yeah.

01:01The Mustang came in as a repair.

01:03Client was driving it.

01:04Then all of a sudden it just didn't have range.

01:06But I found it's also losing power.

01:08Yeah, I knew you'd take it back.

01:10There's something wrong.

01:11There's something definitely wrong.

01:12It's getting worse.

01:13It's getting worse?

01:14Yeah.

01:15Making repairs on an electric vehicle in one week

01:18is really tough

01:19because you don't always know where the problem is.

01:22We're definitely, oh, we're experiencing a severe loss in power.

01:26That's not good.

01:28Yeah.

01:29Yeah.

01:30This is a super-fast timeline

01:31and the problem could be something really simple

01:33we figure out in less than an hour

01:35or it could be something that we're trying to work on for weeks.

01:37Especially when working with an older car like this Mustang.

01:41Not allowed to use another car?

01:42No.
