00:14a former MBank relationship manager told the High Court today.
00:19Joanna Yu was subpoenaed by the former Prime Minister's legal team
00:22to testify at the trial of a civil suit brought by SRC International Sundarian Burhart
00:27and its subsidiary, Gandingan Mentari, Sundarian Burhart against Najib.
00:33During examination in chief by defense lawyer Farhan Shafi,
00:36Yu conceded that all instructions as regards the contents of letters came from Low,
00:42after which the documents would be prepared for then-SRC International CEO Nick Faisal to sign.
00:49Yu was unable to confirm whether Nick Faisal independently verified the contents of the letters
00:54or obtained approval from Najib, the account holder, before signing.
01:00However, she agreed that as far as she knew,
01:02the process involved Low issuing an instruction to her for a letter to be prepared,
01:07which Nick Faisal would sign.
01:09Yu also testified that Low had on several occasions messaged her
01:13to inquire about the balance in Najib's account
01:16and instructed her to ensure that checks issued from Najib's accounts
01:20were not returned due to insufficient funds.
01:24She also added that associates of either Nick Faisal or Low
01:27would bring cash to the bank to be deposited into the account
01:30whenever it was overdrawn.
