00:00Dusuki Mokhtar has been appointed as the new Attorney General.

00:06Dusuki replaces Ahmad Tererudin Saleh, who has been appointed as a federal court judge.

00:12Chief Secretary to the government, Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, said that Yang Di Pertuan

00:16Agung has consented to Dusuki's appointment in accordance with Article 145 Sub 1 of the

00:22federal constitution.

00:24Dusuki is currently the head of the Trial and Appellate Division of the Attorney General

00:28Chambers.

00:30In August, FMT reported Dusuki as one of the several senior officers from the Judicial

00:35and Legal Services who are frontrunners to replace Tererudin.

00:40In his 31 years of legal experience, Dusuki was involved in several high-profile legal

00:45cases including Deputy Prime Minister Ahmadzad Hamidi's 47 charges of corruption, money laundering

00:51and criminal breach of trust.
