00:00What has changed, do you think, from those days to right now and how big the Super Bowl has gotten?
00:05Well, I mean, the Super Bowl is huge, as we well know.
00:09I mean, just the amount of people that will be watching it and Super Bowl parties that are taking place
00:16and those thousands of people that will be at the game and the weekend.
00:23So, yeah, it has been huge.
00:25But you've got to take that all into consideration, and it boils down, the game boils down still to two teams
00:32that have gotten to the position to be able to play this game.
00:38And as we look at Seattle and New England, and these are two teams that have, at the end or through their season,
00:48in the remaining games of the second half of the season, have won their won games to be able to get there.
00:55So there's a momentum that is being built by these two teams because of that defense
01:00and because of what they've accomplished.
01:03You know, I've been into a situation where anything can happen, a great catch here, a misplace here,
01:10an interception here, a tipped ball over here, a fumble here that can change the course and direction of that game.
01:18So for the fans that are out there, I look at this game as going to be very exciting,
01:26and I can't wait to be able to watch and see how they perform.
01:31Hey, Rocky, which one was your favorite Super Bowl?
01:35Well, out of all the four Super Bowl rings, it was Super Bowl XIII, the second time we played the Dallas Cowboys.
01:44It was my favorite ring, and primarily it's my favorite ring because it's the largest and gaudiest.
01:50I laughed when we're down on the seven yard, and it's third round with one yard, first down.
02:01The play that had been called, just a quick pass over my shoulder.
02:07I need to return up the field, pick up one, two, three yards so I can get that first down.
02:11The ball was snapped.
02:12Of course, none of that happened.
02:15I did break out of my stance, but my opponent jumped right up the field.
02:20In the meantime, Bradshaw's faking the Franco Harris into the line of scrimmage,
02:23and when he pulled the ball out looking for that receiver, myself, down that line of scrimmage,
02:28and when he did not spot me, all of a sudden he thought it was a broken place.
02:33So he tucked the ball underneath his arm, and he started to scramble to his right.
02:36As he's scrambling to his right, that sideline was looming up.
02:40Opposite side of him were all these defenders chasing him down, and only at that moment,
02:45once in a lifetime, will you ever experience, our eyes met across the field,
02:50maybe 30, 40 yards separating us, and he released the ball.
02:55And as he released the ball, I leaped all five foot, nine and a half inches of me
03:00with all my might straight up in the air as high as I could go up, hey, I don't know, 18, 19, 20 feet.
03:07Sometimes I forget after all these years.
03:08And I grabbed that ball, came down across the goal line to give us a score and a lead,
03:12and a lead we never relinquished.
03:15That is the reason I wear Super Bowl XIII.
03:18But the other reason is it's the largest and gaudiest of all four Super Bowl rings.
03:24That's why I wear that one.
03:25Rocky, is that the Sports Illustrated cover picture with you catching that pass
03:30going on your back into the end zone?
03:33Yes, it is.
03:34Yes, it is.
03:36That's how it led up to that play.
03:40Absolutely.
03:41It's great catching up with you, Rocky.
03:43Thank you so much, my friend.
03:46I'm glad as the distance is between us.
03:49So be good.
03:51And to all your listeners out there, enjoy the Super Bowl.
03:54I think it'll be a good one.
