00:00In other news, the Paraguayan Congress advanced on Thursday with the reform of the public sector pension law promoted by President Santiago Peña, despite strong opposition from workers.
00:11While various unions gathered around the legislative headquarters to protest the bill, 41 parliamentarians, almost all from the ruling Colorado Party, voted in favor.
00:20The report, which sets a minimum retirement age of 57, requires at least 25 years of contributions and shifts the fiscal fund adjustment burden on to workers.
00:32Now move to the Senate to continue its process while unions announce further actions.
00:43We are requesting that this not affect active teachers.
00:47Any type of change should be optional for them.
00:49And the state should contribute what is up to repeat.
00:52Today, we will be waiting to see what happens in the Chamber of Deputies.
00:57And based on that, we will make a decision.
01:00Today, we asked whether or not to start classes in case they go ahead with the changes.
01:06And the students unanimously said that they will not start classes on February 23rd.
