00:00And on Friday the Argentine Congress approved the labor reform proposed by
00:04President Javier Mellee's administration which involves drastic changes in
00:08working conditions and ends decades of workers achievements. The law which
00:12modifies a 1976 regulation reduces the basis for calculating severance pay to
00:17the detriment of workers. Proposed as alternative to overtime pay limits the
00:21right to strike and union activity among earth substantial reforms to working
00:25conditions. On February 11th the labor reform passed the Senate and was sent to
00:29the Chamber of Deputies where it was approved with modification which is why
00:33it returned to the Opera House on Friday for final ratification. The law will come
00:38into force as soon as President Javier Mellee publishes in the official Gazette.
