00:00Hey Naturally Curly World, I'm Nikki and I'm Evelyn and we're back from Texture
00:03on the Runway, our annual hair and fashion show held in New York sponsored
00:08by Sally Beauty. There was hair getting snatched, edges getting laid, faces
00:12getting beat, there were models, influencers, brands, lights, camera, action.
00:17We documented the entire experience to share with y'all so here are some
00:20things we love about Texture on the Runway. Meeting our faves. We invite
00:25YouTubers, bloggers, Instagrammers, entrepreneurs and brands to turn up with
00:30us and it is so much fun like fangirling over all these people I follow on the
00:34internet. Thank you to everyone who I ran up to and took a picture with and didn't
00:39freak out because I was like you know eyeballing you with heart emoji eyes all
00:43day. I love you so much and that was really fun like YouTubers are cool
00:49Instagrammers are cool. I myself as a beauty guru had one or two fans, nobody
00:54really come up to me and tell me that they just love my stuff. It's not true
00:58at all I'm making all this up but yeah I love meeting all of the cool people you
01:03follow on the internet. The main reason I love Texture on the Runway is it gives us
01:07the ability to travel. It's an excuse to go to New York during New York Fashion Week
01:11you know what I'm saying? We just some Texas girls, some simple Texas girls trying to
01:17live it up in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of. So eating food, crossing the
01:23street in dangerous fashion, being caught in traffic, the honking, the bright lights,
01:30just the ambiance of being in New York but not being like poor because we don't
01:36live there we're tourists. Um great I love it. Texture on the Runway happening
01:41during New York Fashion Week I think is a perfect idea. All of the hairstyles there
01:47were so many cool and unique avant-garde hairstyles on the runway there was a lot of
01:53there was like wavy locks and all kinds of braids and ponytails and weaves and it
01:59really made me feel like oh this little this little braid I got ain't doing
02:03nothing. I need to up my game. So seeing all that inspiration made me feel like I
02:07can do more stuff with my hair, I can like mess with my curliness, the texture
02:11can straighten it. It's really cool to see all the things your hair can do. One of
02:15my favorite hairstyles was from one of my favorite friends Carol's daughter. Lisa
02:20Price is my auntie and she had to send a model down the runway and she had this
02:24giant ponytail. It was this blonde ponytail that went all the way down to like her
02:30thigh meat and so I was like oh that's kind of that's kind of cute and the model
02:34was pregnant so inclusivity you know what I'm saying pregnant lives matter y'all.
02:38Her hair was real fire and you know I got my life.
02:41Mile Organics sent these models down the runway and they were covered in gold body
02:46glitter body paint looking like a golden globe looking like the sparkle emoji.
02:52Just it was so beautiful and then the owner of Mile Organics was like sitting on
03:00the throne. It was just so much and then you had Shea Moisture with like the
03:05really utilitarian oh yes vocab utilitarian clothes but like these
03:12intricate braided hairstyles shout out to the motherland and it was just so cool
03:18to see these brands kind of step outside what you know them for which is hair and
03:22like conditioner and actually use fashion as part of their creative expression.
03:31Thanks so much for watching. In the comments below let us know if you've
