00:01My name is Shannon Boudram and I am from Those Girls Are Wild.
00:04We live life out loud, we dance to the beat of our own drums, and it's truly a lifestyle
00:09channel.
00:10But I'd probably say the biggest part about Those Girls Are Wild is really about embracing
00:14the best you and pursuing your best self.
00:19My channel is called Those Girls Are Wild, it's myself and my best friend Andrea Lewis,
00:23and we really just decided to do a channel that was just about girls who were funny and
00:27energetic and awesome and we never really intended to do hair, but we just noticed how
00:31many of our subscribers were like crying out for some kind of hair advice.
00:35When you're younger you get obsessed with just that flatness, and as you get older you're
00:39like no, bigger is better.
00:40See I love when my hair is frizzy in the middle because you get that nice big volume, but when
00:44it gets to the top and you're all brillo pad here, you sleep on it bad or you don't have
00:48good like no day two or three hair, like that's what a bad hair day is.
00:51Yeah I think for me it's a good combination of volume plus definition together, like that
00:55is the best hair day for me.
00:57I avoid washing my hair like no one's business, but to find a shampoo I can actually use and
01:01I see a good result afterwards is crazy for me.
01:04What actually I found that I love, which I didn't think I would love, is the creamy gel,
01:07because gel sometimes in curly hair is kind of like that, like a little bit of a crisp,
01:11because you want the free and the bounce, but to find that in a gel is difficult, but
01:15I was shocked.
01:16You have to get to know your curls, it's not like boy meets girl love at first sight.
01:20It's a complicated love story, but in the end we're together forever, so it's all good.
01:24Now both myself and my partner Andrea, we have curly hair, we never intended to be
01:29curus, you know, curl gurus, but once we started we definitely built this whole kind of sisterhood
01:34around our hair and it became such a staple part of our channel.
01:37For me personally, I am a photographer.
01:42I focus mostly on doing weddings and engagements, and while it's nice to show up, you know, to
01:48someone's wedding with your hair looking all vavoom and voluminous, I definitely try and go for a bit
01:53more of a tame style with my hair out of my face a little bit, but still, you know, popping the curls.
01:58So as curly girls know, good curl's not just about having great hair on the day that you do it,
02:03I mean fully do it, it's the next day and the day after that as well too.
02:06This is about day two styling hair, so I do a couple of flat twists around just to get it
02:11out of my face for the entire day.
02:14So here it is, the final look, still looking juicy, still looking good on day two.
02:18As a final finish to my hair, because I can be outside for long periods of time during the day
02:22and in different conditions, it's good to have something that's going to keep it in place
02:26through all the different things in my face.
02:28So I put a little bit of the gel in there and then I just really scrunch it in, just nice and light
02:33so it gets softly coated with it but not overly drenched so I don't get crispy hair but I still
02:38get nice, beautiful, defined curls.
