00:09For the month of August and a little bit of September, probably, our watch and goes will
00:13be featuring brands that are participating in our annual Texture on the Runway hair and
00:19fashion show happening this September in New York during New York Fashion Week.
00:23So in this video, I will be using Cream of Nature and talking about Girl's Trip.
00:28This weekend is about us, we deserve this, so let's go.
00:34I have to pee.
00:38Look, the line is short over there, there's a long line in the bathroom here.
00:41Just go for it.
00:48I'm just going to divide my hair into sections and use the Cream of Nature Purelicious Co-Wash
00:54Cleansing Conditioner.
00:55All right, so I have watched Girl's Trip twice.
00:59I'm probably going to see it a third time.
01:01Just a quick synopsis.
01:03It is about the Flossie Posse, which is a group of four girlfriends who know each other from
01:11college and they have since grown up and gone their separate ways and adult life happens,
01:16but they're all coming back together in New Orleans for Essence Fest.
01:23Regina Hall plays, you know, the Oprah, Regis and Kelly looking person who's on all the television
01:30shows and she's been invited by Essence to be Essence Fest's keynote speaker.
01:36Queen Latifah plays a character that like has her own gossip blog and she's like really popular
01:41and popping, but little does everybody know she broke.
01:45Then we have Jada Pinkett and she plays the mother who's like very anal about everything
01:51and she never lets loose and everything is about her kids and oh my god.
01:55Then you have Tiffany Haddish who plays the ratchet friend.
01:58She is the loud one.
02:00She is the comedic relief throughout the entire film.
02:02She's a breakout star.
02:04She's been getting a lot of press lately because of her role in Girls Trip.
02:09She is the one who will actually knock if buck.
02:13Kofi Sirabo, I think is how you say his name, is Jada Pinkett's young thang that she finds
02:19while in New Orleans for Essence Fest.
02:20I would just like to state that he is born in 1994, 19, 94.
02:27It's not so much his age that disturbs me, it's the fact that I, by the time you see this,
02:33I will be 27 and compare, I don't look like him.
02:36How come I don't look like him?
02:37What do I have to do?
02:38I feel like I look like a 19 year old mashed potato next to Kofi.
02:42He grown, why he look grown?
02:44How come I don't look grown?
02:45Look at me, what I look like.
02:48Girls Trip is definitely what one would consider the genre of raunchy comedy.
02:55Just a lot of, not a lot, but you know, there's man butts, demonstrations of certain activities,
03:04there's innuendos and not so innuendos, you know, it's just, it's that genre of film.
03:10My favorite part though, was Lorenz Tate and Regina Hall's interactions.
03:15Spoiler, click out if you don't want a spoiler.
03:19Regina Hall's character's husband is played by Mike Coulter.
03:24Mike Coulter is cheating.
03:25Um, they're in a, like a loveless marriage, kind of.
03:29But they're so rich and they're so successful that they have to keep the facade of being like a successful union.
03:37All right?
03:38And so they're basically together for business reasons.
03:41Woo!
03:42And so, um, he's cheating on Regina Hall.
03:46Successful black woman, doing things, wife.
03:51He's cheating on her with this Instagram thot.
03:55And so Lorenz Tate steps in.
03:58He don't know he's stepping in, but because he's actually a good man, he ends up stepping
04:03in.
04:04He's just being a friend.
04:05My least favorite part, was the Instagram thot's makeup.
04:11She had like a red lip, a purple eyeshadow, um, pink blush.
04:16Her acting was so distracting.
04:19She would, she was doing too much.
04:21Her makeup was too much and she was doing too much.
04:23She would step in the scene like, that's what I thought.
04:27I'm like, why are you body rolling right now?
04:30I watched Girls Trip the first time in a theater packed with black women.
04:36The lady was like, hey everybody, enjoy Girls Trip.
04:40Remember, silence your phones and no talking.
04:42And when she said no talking, the theater erupted in laughter.
04:47And if you thought, we finna talk through the whole movie.
04:50Alright, so I think I'm all detangled up.
04:53This is a co-wash, um, it has great slip.
04:56It is a co-wash, so I'm going to just use it to clean my hair and cleanse my scalp.
05:02And I'll be back with my hair styled, I believe.
05:05I'm going to use the cream of nature Pudding Perfection Curl Enhancing Cream.
05:10Hopefully it defines my coils, to my satisfaction, and isn't too heavy.
05:18I'm back!
05:19I realized I didn't have a leave-in conditioner, so I went and got the cream of nature Argan
05:23buttermilk leave-in hair milk.
05:26And then I used the Pudding Perfection.
05:27And it wasn't giving me the watch-and-go shake.
05:32So I went and got the cream of nature Flexible Styling Snot.
05:37Yes, girl, they called it snot.
05:39And this gave me the coil definition that I so desired.
05:45I love the message of Girls Trip, you know what I'm saying?
05:49Everything can go wrong in your world, but your girls got you through thick and thin.
05:54And it's just a simple message, it's a simple movie, not too much is going on, it's not
06:01too deep, it's not giving you too much, it's giving you just enough.
06:05You know what I'm saying?
06:06It's giving you a little kiki with your friends in the theater over some movie theater nachos,
06:11jalapenos on the side.
06:13I give Girls Trip a four out of five.
06:15I hate when movies tell, don't show.
06:19Because I ain't go to film school, but I know that the goal is to show, not tell.
06:24And the first couple minutes, it felt like, of the movie was Regina Hall narrating their
06:30whole backstory.
06:31Kind of wiggity-wack, but then the rest of the movie made out for it.
06:35You should go watch it, preferably in some great company.
06:39That is my watch and go of Girls Trip.
