00:00Hey, do you want to yell for the boys?
00:03Are you taking them or am I taking them?
00:04Yeah, I'll take them.
00:05Hey, boys.
00:06Yeah?
00:07You guys about ready?
00:09Uh-huh.
00:10Mm.
00:11All right.
00:12Come on, let's go.
00:13I am taking the boys to a window cleaning job that they have.
00:18I'm going to drop them off.
00:19I might be a few minutes late to our meeting
00:22with Dale and Angie Bailey.
00:23They have lived in this house for 26 years.
00:26They built this house.
00:27They raised their kids in this house.
00:29Their son lives in the front yard.
00:31I mean, not in the front yard, like in a tent.
00:33It's awesome.
00:34But he built his house right on their property,
00:37which is very cool.
00:38And they had considered actually tearing the house down
00:41and rebuilding at the front of the property.
00:43But once their son built his house,
00:46they decided they wanted to stay in this home and just update it.
00:50There's so much water.
00:51Will you go for this?
00:51You guys ready?
00:51Uh-huh.
00:52Hang on.
00:52Go throw that in Bananas Water Bowl.
00:54I don't want to waste that.
00:54That's a lot of water.
00:55OK.
00:55See you.
00:56All right.
00:57Have good luck, boys.
00:58I'll pick you up when we're done.
00:59My boy's going to work.
01:01Good luck.
01:02Be polite.
01:06All right, Jenny.
01:07Three, two, one.
01:12Go.
01:12Yeah!
01:15Perfect.
01:18For me and Dave, every day is a lot of moving parts.
01:22With five growing kids.
01:24No!
01:24Do not go in the house!
01:27All right.
01:27Can we break up?
01:28Whoa!
01:29Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:31A working farm full of our beloved animals.
01:34Sometimes cows don't do what you want them to.
01:36It's the strangest thing.
01:37I think I have to go in and scoop some poop, too.
01:39Woo!
01:40Yeah!
01:41Our renovation business.
01:42Oh!
01:43What?
01:45And running two stores in our community of Northwest Arkansas.
01:49I think we did it.
01:50We definitely did it.
01:52We stayed pretty busy.
01:53Ah!
01:54And sometimes a little stressed.
01:56God!
01:57Oh, my Lord, David!
01:59But when your job is helping your neighbors transform their lives...
02:02Oh, my God!
02:04By transforming the place they call home...
02:07Oh, my God, it's so pretty!
02:11Oh!
02:12It's not really work at all.
02:13Just another day in this crazy, beautiful life we call ours.
02:17Oh, my God!
02:18How did you do that?
02:20I'm more function over beauty, but I would love to have someone who has that talent to
02:37work with.
02:38So I'm excited.
02:39Oh, and Dave's here.
02:40Oh!
02:41Ah!
02:42To get them going.
02:43Get them going on the windows.
02:44Someone's got to take care of this family.
02:46Oh, my gosh.
02:47Oh, my gosh.
02:48I'm very excited that you're fostering that entrepreneurship.
02:51Oh, yeah.
02:52Businessmen.
02:53So what on this?
02:54Okay.
02:55We were just chatting about...
02:56Well, first of all, they have a garlic farm here.
02:58We have corn growing, you know, off-season.
03:00Yeah.
03:01You sell it, like, at the farmer's market?
03:02Not yet.
03:03Okay.
03:04We think it's going to take us probably three to five years to get the volume that
03:07we need to be able to do that.
03:09Dale found this property back in 2000.
03:14He built this house.
03:16He designed it.
03:17He built it.
03:18So it was a labor of love.
03:19We learned very quickly, after we moved into the house and we had our first family gathering,
03:25that we didn't give ourselves enough room.
03:27We have two children.
03:28Tom is the oldest.
03:29He and his wife, Kara, are our next-door neighbors, which we love.
03:33And then Tandy and her husband, Casey, don't live in Arkansas, but we get to go see them
03:39frequently, so we're happy about that.
03:41We all like to cook.
03:42We all like to eat.
03:43And we all like to be together when we're doing that.
03:45And so we would like to rearrange the bottom floor of our home to make it more functional.
03:50We're looking forward to what it can turn into.
03:52And we'll continue to make more wonderful memories.
03:55As you can see when you come down the driveway, you see we have two new structures that are
03:59a lot different as far as the design.
04:02We look kind of dated back here.
04:04Yeah.
04:05We don't really have any preconceived, like, we've got to have this happen.
04:08Okay.
04:09You just want it to fit better with these structures.
04:10Yes.
04:11Yes.
04:12As I was driving in, I mean, just looking at how that is very modern.
04:14You're not going to become that modern.
04:15No.
04:16But I think we can try to find an intersection.
04:18And, you know, if we mirror the Borden Batten, for example, here where you have the siding.
04:23Yes.
04:24Obviously painting, the trim.
04:27I think the colors will make a big impact.
04:29I think that the arched window more classic and dated versus, I mean, you see all the modern,
04:34the clean lines over at this house.
04:35Yes.
04:36Agreed.
04:37Okay.
04:38Should we go inside?
04:39Yeah.
04:40I want to see what else we have going on.
04:41Come on in.
04:42We've got lots to talk about.
04:43Okay.
04:44Lots to talk about.
04:46Come on in.
04:47Okay.
04:48Yay.
04:49Oh.
04:50Oh, wow.
04:51This is awesome.
04:52We have family events here.
04:53Yeah.
04:54Lots of friends.
04:55And we love that.
04:56We still want to be able to make memories here and have everybody here.
04:59But let's change some things that we didn't get quite right when we put the house together
05:04originally.
05:05Sure.
05:06And so we've been dreaming and talking about what we would do for about the last five years.
05:10Okay.
05:11What she's been talking about for the last five years is a dirty kitchen.
05:13Yeah.
05:14Oh, okay.
05:15Well, I didn't have a concept of what a dirty kitchen was.
05:16I was like, oh.
05:17You come to our house anytime and there's a dirty kitchen.
05:18I was like, yeah.
05:19We have that.
05:20I don't know.
05:21It's not that great.
05:22I'll tell you.
05:23A lot of people in the early ages would call that a scullery.
05:27It's essentially a kitchen behind the kitchen, if you will.
05:31It has all of the things that a formal kitchen would have, but it's just hidden.
05:35It's behind the scenes.
05:36Where do you want to start?
05:38I'm going to take you into what is currently our bedroom and bath.
05:41Okay.
05:42We want to move our bedroom away from the kitchen.
05:45Okay.
05:46This is a lot of space, but you don't want this to stay in your bedroom?
05:48Is that what you're saying?
05:49No.
05:50Okay.
05:51I think this would be a great place to put the scullery.
05:55We love preserving what we grow in the garden.
05:58That's something that we now have time to do.
06:01And so we'd like to have a space to be able to do that.
06:03That's something that I have dreamed about for a while.
06:06I see over here you've got a, I'm assuming a patio door.
06:09Yeah.
06:10You can open it.
06:11Do you need access to the exterior with the dirty kitchen as well?
06:14Um, it would be, I think it would be nice.
06:17I was going to say, cause to get like, if your garden is out there, you could bring it right in.
06:21Herbs I have out there.
06:22Yeah, I could bring them in.
06:23Okay.
06:24So what we need to do for your current main suite is reallocate all of this space,
06:28make this dirty kitchen slash scullery, have a door to the outside.
06:32Yes.
06:33Okay.
06:34Okay.
06:35So why don't we talk about the current kitchen?
06:36Yeah.
06:37We did not give ourselves enough space that we can have multiple people working.
06:42Yeah.
06:43It's just right in the way.
06:44You have to go all the way around.
06:46Yes.
06:47Let's talk about how you want this to look.
06:48I don't want tile.
06:49Yeah.
06:50It's hard.
06:51Yeah.
06:52Tile.
06:53Same with the floors.
06:54You don't want tile on the floors.
06:55I would love to see like a cohesive look on our floor and I love wood and then slab countertops.
07:01I think it would be fun if this space were more updated.
07:05Um, and then you walk through the dirty kitchen and it feels like an old world like kitchen.
07:11Yes.
07:12Yeah.
07:13Or like a, like your grandma's kitchen.
07:14Yes.
07:15Or something like that.
07:16Yes.
07:17Yeah.
07:18So the plan for your kitchen is we are going to just really update everything.
07:20We'll have new flooring throughout.
07:22Kind of keep the same layout, update the island so that the shape functions better.
07:27New cabinets, new countertop.
07:30Really just update the space so that it not only functions but also is really beautiful.
07:34And then we'll have the scullery which will feel very different, feel like an old world
07:38emporium.
07:39Sounds awesome.
07:40Yeah.
07:41Okay.
07:42What about this living room?
07:43Okay.
07:44Do you want to talk about that since we're here?
07:45This, this space we...
07:46It's a giant living room.
07:47It is.
07:48Humanious.
07:49We, we lovingly refer to this as our pit.
07:50Oh.
07:51This is the pit.
07:52I love that.
07:53Okay.
07:54When our children were home and all their friends were here.
07:55Yeah.
07:56And it was great cause it's large enough to accommodate a lot.
07:57Yeah.
07:58But now it's just Dale and I and I don't know how to put furniture and I don't know how
08:03to decorate.
08:04Do you want to keep the fireplace?
08:05Yeah.
08:06So we'd love to see it updated, changed.
08:08I love your planes too.
08:09Those are so cool.
08:10Oh yeah.
08:11Oh yeah.
08:12Cause you're a pilot too, right?
08:13Yes I am.
08:14So in the living room, we're going to update the flooring, update the fireplace and really
08:20just make this a space that's more functional.
08:22Right.
08:23Okay.
08:24Since the scullery is replacing your main suite, where's it going?
08:25Yeah.
08:26Okay.
08:27So here's what I'm thinking.
08:28What we are thinking.
08:29All of this space.
08:32Oh.
08:33So we have a couple of bedrooms and a bathroom.
08:34I think all of this could be re-engineered into our living space.
08:39Beautiful space.
08:40Yeah.
08:41So you have a main suite.
08:42Yeah.
08:43We want to turn it into like bedroom, bathroom, closet.
08:47Oh wow.
08:48This is a lot of space.
08:51This is.
08:52Yeah.
08:53This is a lot of space.
08:56And then what would you like in the bathroom and anything in the bedroom, any specifics?
09:00So in the bedroom, the most important thing is dark, cool, quiet.
09:05Yes.
09:06So, you know, super insulated.
09:08I would like to have a washer and dryer like space.
09:11Oh, I love that.
09:12Yeah.
09:13In the bathroom, I like a tub.
09:15All right.
09:16We'll completely move your whole main suite.
09:17So now we have these two guest bedrooms.
09:19One will turn into your bedroom.
09:22We're going to square it off from the hall so you'll get a little more space.
09:25And then the other bedroom will be where your new bathroom is.
09:28And the guest bathroom will convert into your walk-in closet, which will also include a washer and dryer.
09:35Yes.
09:36So, are you wanting to keep this as a dining space and then we just wall off from here?
09:41Because that's a lot of space back there.
09:42Um, if we had some area where we could gather.
09:45Yeah, you'd have a room.
09:46We'd like to do puzzles.
09:47Oh, yeah.
09:48I will tell you that our longer term goal is that we would like to see a renovation upstairs.
09:53We would like to see our stairs be dealt with.
09:55They're very steep right now.
09:57Okay.
09:58I think we have to update the staircase somehow because if we update everything else and we leave the staircase, it just doesn't work.
10:05That would be great.
10:06Okay.
10:08Thank you, guys.
10:09That's going to get pumped up.
10:1025 years.
10:11We are so proud, right?
10:12Oh, yeah.
10:13That's a lot.
10:14That's a lot.
10:15That's the no fun part.
10:16That's the no fun, I know.
10:17All right.
10:18Thanks, guys.
10:19Appreciate you.
10:20Thank you so much.
10:21Take care.
10:22Pretty much everything on the inside of this house.
10:24On the first floor.
10:25On the first floor is completely moving.
10:27Right now, we're really focusing on the spaces that they use every day so that this house is functional and also beautiful.
10:34We're going to call this a vacation while our house is being remodeled.
10:37We're going to be in the RV, but we don't know exactly where.
10:40We're going to hit the road.
10:42We're going to hit the road.
10:48All right.
10:49We are at the Bailey house.
10:51I mean, just three of us.
10:53All of us are here.
10:54Only three of us.
10:55It's a surgical team today.
10:56That's right.
10:57That's right.
10:58It actually is kind of surgical.
11:00We're not really doing a whole lot on the outside, at least initially.
11:03There's a few things we've got to figure out inside the house.
11:07Tim, I don't want to see you sitting on these rocking chairs at all.
11:10No, I'm going to.
11:11I'm going to.
11:12Don't turn your back.
11:13I'm going to put those up somewhere.
11:14I'll be sitting there.
11:15So really, let's gut all these cabinets.
11:18Let's just get this to a shell first.
11:24It's not like the slabs.
11:25We're going to just lift it off the top.
11:27I mean, if this island is any indication of how the demo is going to be, we're going to be here a while.
11:40It's going to be tough.
11:41I don't know if that we should have ordered the surgical team here.
11:49Yeah, I think it's going to be a piece-by-piece thing, Tim.
11:53Here, hold on.
11:54Hello.
11:55We've been working on this island now for 20 minutes, 30 minutes.
12:05You guys know we're taking all this out.
12:07We have to remove everything from that whole area.
12:11We have to remove that bathroom.
12:13We have a lot to do in this house.
12:15All right, let's get this thing out.
12:16We've got to get this thing out of here.
12:17Oh, jeez now.
12:23All right, there's one.
12:26Watch out.
12:36Bored.
12:37It's like Dave when he cooks.
12:38He likes to just make a giant mess and leave it all to clean up later.
12:42I like to clean as I go.
12:45Okay, so the fireplace.
12:47What do you think?
12:48I feel like we just pull this whole thing out and just start over.
12:52I want to do, I was thinking like a wood wall here.
12:55Light wood.
12:56It modernizes this.
12:57It's really clean.
12:58And how far, I wonder, can we go back?
13:01And I think we just keep it, you know, just straight across once we redo it.
13:06Take all of this off and get this as tight as we can to the wall.
13:10Yeah.
13:11And then we're going to remove all the carpet.
13:12We got a lot.
13:13Oh, yay.
13:14All right, Jenny Mars.
13:23I see Ben out here every day.
13:27Now Luke's starting to be out here, Sylvie.
13:29Yeah.
13:30And they're shooting at an angle, out in the rain, the cold.
13:33Oh my gosh.
13:34I've really been wanting to put concrete in this barn.
13:37You're going to put concrete in the hay barn?
13:39Once I pour concrete, I can put hay back in here.
13:42We put the hay along the back to block the winter wind.
13:46And then they have like a basketball court here.
13:49So are we going to do this for Christmas?
13:50I'm not just giving them a basketball court.
13:52This is like a Christmas gift.
13:53I think Christmas, don't you?
13:55Oh, that's a long ways away.
13:56I know.
13:57It's going to take me a minute.
13:58Luke's preschool teacher, Nicole Kettner, we recently surprised her family with a multi-use
14:04court.
14:05So it's a basketball court and a pickleball court.
14:07No way!
14:08Basketball court!
14:09What?
14:10What?
14:11Oh my goodness.
14:12It's a tennis court.
14:13Oh my goodness.
14:14It's a tennis court.
14:15What?
14:16We thought it was the coolest thing ever.
14:18We knew our kids would love one.
14:19I thought it would make a great Christmas gift, but Dave can't help himself.
14:23When he gets an idea, he has to do it right now.
14:25I need you to tell me what we need and what I can get rid of.
14:29I mean, I think you can get rid of everything you see.
14:33See, there's a lot more room back here.
14:35It's exciting.
14:36Oh my gosh, David.
14:38This is a disaster.
14:39What is that?
14:40A sink?
14:41That's a cast iron sink.
14:42That's huge.
14:44You know where we could use that?
14:47I wonder if we could use it in the scullery at the Bailey's.
14:51That's huge.
14:52I think you'd build it into the countertops.
14:54She would love that.
14:55It's brand new.
14:56It's never been used.
14:57No, I know.
14:58It's just been stored in an open-air barn.
15:00Okay.
15:01I'll keep that.
15:02All right.
15:03What about all this?
15:04What is this?
15:05Just all PVC fencing.
15:06I don't know.
15:07I just have a hard time getting rid of stuff.
15:09I know you do.
15:10But I'm going to now.
15:11All right.
15:12I'm going to get on the tractor and start moving hay.
15:14Oh, that's exciting.
15:24You guys ready?
15:26We're framing it.
15:27We're framing it.
15:28What will be the scullery.
15:29Since they are garlic farmers, Angie's very passionate about her garlic farm.
15:34Once we get this dry walled, I do want to put wallpaper.
15:37So I'm going to get some garlic wallpaper for the scullery.
15:41What if you could do scratch and sniff wallpaper?
15:43Oh, God.
15:44I don't know that anyone would want that.
15:45Are you serious?
15:46Garlic smell?
15:47No, I just don't see it.
15:48I was thinking in the bedroom.
15:50I would like to do some beams just to give it a little bit more oomph.
15:54Okay.
15:55All right.
15:56Let's talk about the bathroom layout.
15:58What all goes in here?
16:00Everything.
16:01Tub, shower, two vanities, and a bidet toilet.
16:07Do you have one of those?
16:08Yeah, you have one of those.
16:09A combo bidet toilet?
16:10I had one before.
16:11You got one in your house?
16:13Yeah.
16:14Dave does.
16:15It even has like a heater.
16:16I'm not going to lie to you.
16:17It's the heater.
16:18The heater for me is amazing.
16:20Actually the best.
16:21My bud has never been happier.
16:22Sure.
16:23It has a fan.
16:24Every morning.
16:25He's so happy.
16:26The thing I like about it, it has like a little night light.
16:28So in the night, I don't have to turn the light on.
16:30Because then if you turn the light, I always go to the bathroom like this,
16:32because I don't want to turn the light on.
16:33Because once you turn the light on, then you're awake.
16:36The other thing I was thinking, I definitely want to get rid of all these angles.
16:40They said they wanted to eventually move this staircase.
16:43No, she didn't like the stairs.
16:45Straight up like that.
16:46What if we shift the stairs from the left side of the entry to the right,
16:49we create a turn so that we make them less steep.
16:52We'd have to relocate the front door, but we could create a wall to hide the staircase from view.
16:57And then the entry becomes this long hallway.
17:00But it will also allow us to extend the ceiling so that we give them more space on the second level.
17:06Because if we're redoing the floor and everything, it doesn't make any sense to do the floor.
17:11And then they're going to have to rip it back up to move the staircase later.
17:14I bet it'll be $20,000 or $25,000 to move all this and get it all set up.
17:19This is going to be a big cost addition to what they've already planned.
17:22So we need to talk to them about it.
17:24We need to give them a call and just see if they're on the same page.
17:27Hi, Katie.
17:29Hey, how are you?
17:31I'm here with Dave.
17:33Hey, how's it going?
17:34It's a moho right now.
17:37Nice.
17:38We were just talking about your phase two of the project that you guys wanted to add the second floor, move the stairs.
17:48And as we're laying everything out down here, it just doesn't make sense to do all of this work and then move the stairs and have to rip up everything again.
17:57It just, to us, feels like it should happen now.
17:59It doesn't make sense perfectly for me.
18:02I'm going to stop smiling.
18:04You're excited.
18:05Okay, good.
18:06You're probably looking at $20,000 to $25,000, which, you know, you save that not having to rip everything back apart later.
18:13We agree.
18:14Otherwise, we have to move out again.
18:16What does this do on the timeline?
18:18It could add a week to the time to just get the trusses in.
18:22So you may have to spend another week.
18:24You may have to go south or north, go to Alaska or go...
18:27Go south.
18:28We have family in the south.
18:29Perfect.
18:30All right.
18:31Well, thank you, guys.
18:32Good to see you.
18:33Enjoy your trip.
18:34Bye-bye.
18:35Bye.
18:36That's awesome that they're in agreement.
18:38We have to.
18:39There's no way we could not.
18:40We have a lot to do in this house.
18:43We've been thinking.
18:45Do you have some fun news?
18:48Tell them, Dave.
18:49They're adding a metal roof.
19:00So we're at the Bailey's.
19:01We are just kind of reorganizing this whole staircase.
19:05We were able to take out the old staircase, chop it up into pieces, and keep it for the new staircase.
19:11Save them a little bit of money anywhere that we can.
19:14One, two, three.
19:16Let's go.
19:17All right.
19:18Set it there.
19:20Can you get that?
19:21It's not going anywhere now.
19:22So then, Jenny, what we need is...
19:23Get a front door.
19:24Get a front door.
19:25Yeah.
19:26This one's going to be kind of hard to go in and out.
19:27Yeah.
19:28It's going to work so long.
19:29I mean, look how much space they're going to gain.
19:30That's so nice.
19:31The Bailey's are traveling around in their RV while we're working on their home.
19:35And it's...
19:36It's two of the Americas.
19:37Yeah.
19:38Not the Americas.
19:39Just America.
19:40No, literally the Americas.
19:41North America, South America.
19:42They could be anywhere.
19:43We don't know.
19:44They could be.
19:45Anyway, they're touring around while we work on their house.
19:50They ask Dave to care for their family.
19:53Yeah.
19:54They care for their home.
19:55Yeah.
19:56They now live in their house.
19:57Yeah.
19:58They're all in the house, and they're all in the house.
19:59Yeah.
20:00Maybe they're there.
20:02They, they're all in the house.
20:03they asked dave to care for their garden i offered to eat from their garden while they
20:09were away and you know we're a good team these are like monsters oh hey how are you oh we're
20:17great how are you jenny oh good we're just checking on your garden we've been thinking
20:24we really really hope that you could find a way to do the roof um we we think that
20:31a metal roof would allow us to be a little more cohesive with the build that my son has
20:39we hope that it can happen it's definitely going to be a challenge to get it done before you get back
20:43but we'll continue to work on the inside and yeah now we can just make the roof part of it too
20:49we'll follow up with you know pricing but i think that's an amazing idea awesome yes thank you and
20:57thanks for the peas that was a nice little snack okay bye guys bye that's awesome because i really
21:02wanted to replace the roof so that makes me very happy so i need to look into that but i was also
21:06looking over here look they have bees did you know that yeah they have a lot of bees do you think we
21:10should make them a little cute little bee box okay i like that something cute some just a cute little
21:15bun all right these are delicious so dave's going to build a custom bee box for the baileys bees because
21:20we know how much the bees mean to them we have bees ourselves and we want to make the project extra
21:25special no glue and it doesn't need any glue it'll finish out really nice that right there's a winner
21:43hello this is cute everything in here
21:47here is framed up and done we're going to finish the ceiling and then finish the staircase up
21:54that's amazing it's so nice okay do we want to talk about this uh scullery so remember we have
22:00that big sink from the barn it's gigantic so the cabinets are going to run along the length of the
22:05back wall and we need to fit the double oven a cooktop we have the sink in the middle and then we'll
22:11have a stainless steel topped island that i think we should have on wheels that's what she wanted so
22:16she can move it around and then that will give angie the counter space she needs in here what is
22:20the other thing didn't they need something else like a freeze dryer yeah freeze dryer that freeze
22:25dryer out that's up in the garage angie is all about freeze drying if we put it in a cabinet we'll
22:30need a drain line and ventilation it makes like space ice cream i have a story okay in third grade
22:38you know i grew up in orlando i went to space camp and the only thing i remember there's a lot of
22:43science a lot of learning but it was apparently fun we did like the floating thing i remember we
22:48got space ice cream and i didn't like it you wanted to be an astronaut when you were a kid yeah
22:53wouldn't you have loved to go to space camp nobody even acknowledged my space camp story
22:57that's great you didn't learn anything to be an astronaut floated in the thing
23:00i don't know zero gravity zero gravity machine all right where are we putting i thought dave was
23:10gonna be like wow babe i never knew that story i know but i've got eight million things to do here
23:14so can we can we reminisce later it's a good story i've eaten space ice cream at space camp
23:20that is cool i totally forgot about it the taste of space ice cream my mom mom we're working in a house
23:26dave said they can make their own space ice cream and i was like oh i went to space camp and it all
23:30the memories came back and dave didn't believe it was a day day of space camp but you had to be
23:35accepted into the program right you had to pass a lot of tests you just went to the beginning
23:39space center for the day no i went to camp no no no no no you know what it was i took the brownie
23:46hole now the story comes out mom we're making great progress at the bailey house we've moved and
24:00installed the new front door the redesigned staircase is in and drywall is up throughout the house
24:05so i had kelly make me some wallpaper for angie bailey oh that's really cool so you know angie
24:20and dale are becoming garlic farmers i had her make wallpaper that we are going to put on the
24:28back of the new canning cabinet okay so you have the scullery all of the things and then on this
24:37wall we have a cabinet that you are going to build it doesn't match everything else it just looks like
24:42an old piece of furniture storage on the bottom with doors and then the back part of it will be
24:47the garlic and then we'll have shelves where she can store all her canned goods can we have a moment
24:52and talk about how pretty this garlic paper is though it's totes adorbs totes adorbs wow did you
24:57say it's adorbs yeah totes adorbs oh like totally adorable yeah yeah yeah i want it to look like an
25:03old country store cabinet where they sell canned goods i've got cherry right here but cherry's
25:08gonna lend red when you when you clear it that alder would look cool when you clear it and it
25:13already looks kind of old and has some character some of the knots and stuff oh yeah yeah that's
25:20pretty be pretty with the uh wallpaper too okay it's totes adorbs purdy totes adorbs
25:27guys don't ever say that again
25:29here at the bailey house we were able to replace the arched windows and the board and batten is going
25:40up the fireplace around has arrived that thing looks awesome that looks really nice and dave and
25:47are working on the main closet oh doggie nice hey what's going on here oh we're just picking out
25:53drought colors i think earth is what it is that's the one i think that looks good yeah i like that i like that one too
26:00yeah what color is it earth it's the one you picked out dave and we have handmade moroccan tile being
26:09installed it looks so cool i love this on top of all of that we have engineered hardwood floors being
26:16installed throughout the house it's a big day got a lot going on
26:19after spending many weekends clearing out this old hay barn we are finally ready to install concrete
26:28to prep for the new court once the concrete sets it will only be a few more weeks until we can get
26:33the court installed and surprise the kids let's set this upside down here
26:40okay so we are going to create a stainless steel top island for the scullery she really wants it
26:52movable so i think we need to put it on like caster wheels and then you do one big shelf in the middle
26:58kind of like this actually not exactly like this but you know what i mean you have it open the shelf
27:04would be higher but then she can store all the things she needs to the big pots oh what are these i
27:09i could use these i don't have these yeah you got those for that shoe rack you wanted me to make
27:14but then i never used them i need these for our boots for the winter i was just gonna go buy some
27:18thanks huh you never know what you'll find out here do you want something like this um i think those
27:23are too small i think they need to be bigger i like the style i just think it needs to be bigger
27:30oh well you want wheels on it because you got to put wheels here yeah it's gonna have to it's gonna
27:34have to square it's gonna have to start square and then end square well i think you could put a
27:42wheel on that i just think it needs to be bigger i've got some wheels did i really order these are
27:46you serious if you want to hold any kind of weight oh i bought these i remember now
27:51oh look at me i've got some that are like this
28:01so these are 110 pounds so you could do like 440 pounds oh but that's still too big beginning to
28:08paint those two for that it's still too big it's got to square off it's gonna have to do this i'm
28:12just saying this needs to be bigger these are the ones that i would thread in these are better they're
28:17smaller even with these this doesn't work no these are too small for the size of the island so okay
28:23so i'm not going to use these because i don't think it'll work
28:29there's a lot of cabinets in there you brought the wrecking crew with you all right that's a lot
28:35of cabinets that is that's what happened we got two kitchens literally
28:38are you good yeah
28:46oh you got that door yep now no bro i do want to check this sink out see if it actually fits on
28:54that cabinet or not you want to take it in okay we might need three or four more people with this
28:58okay it isn't that bad like i carried it over here by myself it's every bit of 250 pounds
29:09ah come on okay hop in here all right ready
29:16are we in ready
29:19well mine's not good
29:22are you okay
29:26are you stuck oh my gosh
29:30are you all right let me see oh that's fine this thing is so heavy
29:33is this the wrong time to mention that i got a little cold and i had to put a sweatshirt on
29:40is this the wrong time to mention my pants might smell a little poopy
29:44did you guys break it
29:45i think it looks good it kind of split apart here it pushed it was too tight we got to pull that
29:54that one piece out okay ready
29:58okay you ready we'll set it up
29:59where are you going setting it on those buckets yep
30:05okay so we've got one broken cabinet smushed finger and one pair of poopy pants and a broken door
30:11and a broken door i only am claiming the broken door and the poopy pants everything else was not my
30:17fault we've got about two weeks before dale and angie returned from their vacation
30:24working inside working outside so these are the beams yeah those are for the bedroom
30:30in the scullery i went with a rose color for the cabinets to give it an earthy aesthetic
30:34in the kitchen we have a soft beige on the cabinetry so that it feels really timeless
30:39in the living room we're using this really cool wood replica tile
30:43and in the bathroom we have a warm terracotta tile that works really well with the moroccan tile in the shop
30:52giant semi huh how's it going good to see you good to see you
30:57all right let's go check it out the metal for the new roof has arrived this is really going to
31:02transform the exterior of this home they bailey's really wanted it to be more modern so it could
31:07match their son's house that's on their same property so the new metal roof is going to help
31:12with that and it'll only take a few days to install with the outside almost finished inside we just need
31:19furniture and fixtures i picked a white quartz for the countertops and added contrast with the darker
31:25veined quartz for the island which i really think angie will love
31:28and at our house we have a project of our own that needs to get finished
31:35hey babe hey so hey you gotta hide this so the kids are gonna be home in a minute
31:42i don't want to see it can you like pull a tractor around here or a 60-foot tractor well grab the bus
31:49can you grab the bus and put it in front please so they don't see it come on go go go i'll do this
31:55you know i haven't started the bus in a year okay we'll just try it that's what you that's exactly
32:00one of our problems you have a bus that you haven't used in a year go get the bus go i don't know
32:05know if it'll start we'll try it all right all right oh dave hurry
32:14distract him dave get the bus go i'm trying
32:19where's it freaking deepen what should i do
32:22like a dream baby like a dream look this way there's a freaking noise look this way look at me
32:35hi hi what are you guys doing how was your day i don't know why it's beeping all right go park in
32:43the garage and then go in the house i think it worked i think they're so confused by what's happening
32:48so dave didn't finish putting up the christmas lights because he said it was too cold out and
32:53instead he started doing the court two weeks early oh maybe we just swap those and do the christmas
33:02lights and we'll do the court later you wanted our children to drive this
33:10i do like that it beeps all right perfect babe all right it actually works perfectly because they
33:21can't see it at all and luckily they're incredibly lazy and they just went right inside didn't even
33:27notice what we were doing did you see that dude start to roll on me i did i thought it was gonna go
33:32i thought it was gonna go into the dumpster for a second
33:34first door on your right oh wow i recognize that door look at that sink what
33:47yeah dad could not wait all right no no we're a little bit pre-christmas but that is okay
34:05there oh bed nice oh nothing but net amazing okay good job you all right
34:24worn out yep yep what do you think though do you like the court yeah it's amazing what do you think
34:31so nice charlotte what do you think of the court that's really cool
34:45we are at dale and angie bailey's just finishing everything up the multiple kitchens the huge main
34:51suite it's really cool it's been a big project it started as one thing and it evolved into something
34:56much bigger yes we had to add an entire new floor um change the stairway really reorient
35:04this entire house like it's completely different than it was before all right all right right in the
35:10shower moment yes and there's a little school in there i have found it angie and dale are starting
35:17this new phase of their life they're starting this garlic farm and now they have this incredible
35:23scullery to work in and not only is it super functional but it is flipping adorable i love it
35:32okay here we go it's your turn can't wait i feel like we're moving back in for the first time
35:40i'm ready to move back in okay okay okay tell me when tell me when okay you can open your eyes now
35:49because it does look totally different because it does look totally different
35:57so awesome
36:06oh my gosh
36:10good to see you good to see y'all how you doing i'm glad to be here
36:13oh my gosh this is so awesome okay so we got rid of the upper arched windows and added the board and
36:22batten to modernize it the metal roof and the brick is really pretty so we didn't need to paint it we
36:27just used this beautiful kind of dark greenish gray color to really bring out the prettiness of the brick
36:34and then you have the new front door yes and it's in a different spot you'll see why it's in a
36:38different spot wow it looks awesome this is so awesome i love it it's an answer answer job well
36:47done thank you yeah well we we're just getting started oh yeah the door is gorgeous isn't it pretty
36:54yes okay oh me yeah okay okay oh my gosh
37:06it's a little bit
37:10this is beautiful
37:16so remember your stairs were here yes straight up and this is not here i love well yes
37:21it's a little drop zone and the new floors the floor looks like white flooring these are so
37:28pretty check out your kitchen okay let's go
37:34holy
37:37oh jenny you did two colors
37:41i love it and this is this is perfect okay good this is perfect
37:45and there's a lot of room there he is oh my gosh i'm surprised that bar was taking up more space yes
37:54kind of getting you some clean lines in here really added so much space so you can have people over and
38:00entertain and then we did the same thing over here now you have space for a big dining table and it
38:05feels really intentional yeah like this is where it belongs a lot of space this is amazing so we took
38:12your hallway and two bedrooms and made them into your new main suite okay let's go check that out
38:18let's go
38:27oh wow
38:30oh my gosh this is amazing
38:37i love the beams that's holy yeah you know break the ceiling up yes huge beautiful yeah this is amazing
38:44peaceful peaceful exactly check on your garden that's right that's right it's beautiful so we
38:50made the room functional size the perfect so we could make the rest of the main suite the really big
38:57stuff okay okay you go oh you're gonna let me go first oh my gosh oh my gosh i love it holy
39:14so this is handmade tile from morocco has this very earthy feel and we tied in the terracotta floor oh
39:27i love it kind of softer green on the cabinets and the wood if you both have your own vanity
39:33wow i love the colors the colors are so soft and warm i just love it jimmy and i could never have done
39:40this myself never and i love the washer and dryer right in here okay so we're going right next to
39:46your closet oh man behind door number three oh wow i'm gonna have to shop twice the closet twice the
39:55clothes yeah heck yeah okay well there's more to see there's more let's go all right let's go follow us
40:00okay this is wow wow
40:14i have a puzzle table this looks great oh my gosh i wanted it to be light and cozy and we have the wood
40:22on the fireplace it's actually a tile so it's oh really you gotta go check that out my goodness
40:28isn't that awesome yes the old fireplace was built out quite a bit farther we were able to shift
40:36everything back and give more room you know to the room the space is so big yes so that's why we wanted
40:43to break it up so you have kind of a cozy lounge space then you have your puzzle area i could never
40:48have imagined what it would look like and this is so amazing okay the only other space i like more than
40:55this is the one we're going is the next one there's a better space than this okay so we're going
40:59to go down the hall past the kitchen okay first door on your right oh wow
41:06i recognize that door
41:11okay this is so beautiful oh my gosh yes oh my gosh i'm never leaving this right
41:20oh my gosh this is like an uh an original like farmhouse like my grandma had one of these types of
41:32sinks go look in that cabinet right there what wired and vented and you're all set you're ready to go

41:49move it out of the way dave built this you built yeah so this is yeah for you guys oh my gosh this room
41:56was so much fun this is the most fun room for me my friend's an artist she painted this garlic we made
42:02it into wallpaper oh you built this piece to store your canned goods and it's so beautiful
42:09paper behind oh my gosh just your happy space it is my happy space oh the big box wow i built you a
42:17pecan bee box the weather gets nice and you're ready to move some bees in you can move it outside
42:21but we set it here for now i cannot take it all in right now it's a whole new house and it's perfect
42:28okay thank you guys so much for letting us be a part of this this is awesome they knocked it out of
42:35the park absolutely knocked it out yeah not blue our minds oh my gosh you scored my scorey from the
42:46front porch to the new kitchen to the stairway all of it is just way beyond it's way better than
42:54anything way beyond what we expected yeah they're just so fun and this house is i think turned out
