00:00Hi there.
00:29Hi.
00:30The reason I stopped you is you don't have any taillights.
00:32They're not working.
00:33Oh.
00:34I probably didn't turn up that long.
00:36Yeah, it looks like it.
00:36That's probably the problem.
00:38Do you have a driver's license with you?
00:39Yeah.
00:40Yeah, sir, do you happen to have an idea with you?
00:41I don't know.
00:42What's your name?
00:43Bryce.
00:44You spell Bryce with a Y or an I?
00:49B-R-Y-C-E.
00:51Which day of birth, Bryce?
00:53724-90, er, that's nice, Bryce.
00:56B-R-Y-C-E.
00:58724-20, er, oh, sorry.
01:05Is that your real name and date of birth?
01:07Yes, sir.
01:07How come it takes you so long to figure out your date of birth?
01:09Sorry, man, I was just, I'm reading something here on the internet, so.
01:14All right, man, tell me your real name.
01:17This is Tyler.
01:19OK.
01:20Passengers.
01:21So Tyler updated him.
01:23Why would you not tell me your real name?
01:25Do you have a warrant?
01:27He doesn't know if he has a warrant or not.
01:28I don't know if I have a warrant or not.
01:30Go ahead.
01:33Step for it.
01:35All right, Tyler, you do have a warrant?
01:36Yeah.
01:37I am going to take you.
01:38Yeah.
01:44All right, man, you need a drill, right?
01:45Just put your phone together.
01:47OK.
01:48Yeah, sorry about that, man.
01:49I'm just panicking, you know.
01:50I'm just trying to go.
01:53Light over.
01:54Oh, .
01:55Oh, .
01:56Oh, that.
01:57Oh, man.
02:23Stop!
02:24My God!
02:26Pace County is the biggest county between Denver and Salt Lake, Utah.
02:31We do have a lot of theft, a lot of drug violations, drug trafficking.
02:35Come on in, Tyler.
02:39Hey, you guys, I hate you guys, I hate you.
02:42I can't stop you.
02:44It'll be a few minutes before they get you out of us.
02:47This is why I don't share shit with you people.
02:53How you doing, sir?
02:54Oh, .
02:55It's only the second time here, man.
02:57I don't like this jail.
02:58Stand up for your office, Walmart.
03:01I need some drugs, especially on you.
03:02Yes, sir.
03:03If I find anything, you'll see another charge.
03:04Yeah.
03:05I'm going to take the doctor, all right?
03:06All right.
03:07And your gray jacket on.
03:10All right, you got your stuff?
03:21The last time I got out, I had a medical issue,
03:24where I wasn't able to make my court date, so they put out a warrant.
03:27And then I got arrested on that.
03:29Can you tell me about your original charge?
03:33I got pulled over, ended up having some drugs on us, and then just got that dangerous drugs charge.
03:40I'm going to have you step out of the car.
03:42I'm going to have you step out of the car.
03:43I'm going to get it on your back for me.
03:46I got the tumor.
03:47I got the tumor.
03:48I know.
03:50What do you see in the car?
03:53What do you see in the car?
04:04Drugs kind of played a big part in my arrest and the way I've been recently
04:11Looks like you came in with a recovery book. Are you trying to clean up?
04:15You know when it comes to the meth and fentanyl
04:18I'm sure two pretty ugly things plays a huge factor in a lot of different things
04:25You know I got two kids that depend on me my son he's 10 and my daughter she's 7. That's all I got left
04:35You know I really want to make a change
04:37It sucks when you're in here and everything's on a standstill for you, but the world's still going
04:54Trying to get out all I want my life is just me and my two kids
04:59I'm just waiting for court
05:07I
05:11This rookie
05:13You won't tell me his batch number before I have been arrested. Be patient. You don't have patience. No, I don't give a what he has to do
05:21We got plenty of different types of varices. There's more frequent flyers
05:30Some don't care about following the rules don't care how they act
05:37I
05:39Down this way
05:41But we also have the ones on the other side of spectrum they've been through the system
05:45They know what they need to do and they follow the rules
05:48I take your cops off hands on a wall like this from space and I'll put it there
05:52I've been through this process just here like two weeks ago, right, right
05:57Give me a phone line. He's coming in
05:59It's a violation of probation
06:07All right
06:15He was arrested originally for grand theft
06:22Part of the sentence for him is to do drug court drug court kids
06:27There are six months a year long program where they have to report so often obviously can't use drugs
06:33Alcohol or anything like that
06:35All right everything you're wearing hand to me put all that stuff on so he
06:39Violated that drug court probation because they said his urine has not been clean since he's been on the program have a seat on the bench
06:52Stop banging you're gonna end up in the chair if you don't stop
06:55My first charge is grant theft which is why my grandpa doesn't really like
07:01Did you like use his credit card or yeah, I had had it for years on my phone, so I was just using it there
07:08What's up man, how are you?
07:10How are you?
07:11Do you have his card?
07:13I have his card
07:15Put it on my cash wrap, put his card on my cash wrap
07:19How much have you taken?
07:21I don't know
07:23I don't know
07:25It's kind of just been like a
07:27Yeah
07:29It's available, get it
07:31So he's wanting to go through with charges right now
07:34So we're gonna make an arrest right now, okay?
07:36That was fresh after I was 18 till I'm 19 now so
07:40Right as I turned 18 he was like yep, you know, there goes your life
07:44And boom
07:46Ended me up here
07:48Stop right now
07:49Do you understand me?
07:50Stop
07:50Do you guys tell me what to do?
07:52I'm gonna chill
07:53And then with my charge my restitution is over 16 grand
07:58And so made it really hard like at 18 years old you can't find a job because you have a stealing money charge like
08:06Even now I've lost my job out there
08:09It's really just miserable
08:11All right, I'll take you back
08:19After doing this for almost 20 years I've seen it all
08:23This is gonna hit him good
08:24I don't think he's happy to be here
08:36Oh
08:41Tyler
08:45Let's go to court, man
08:52Just hang out right here for me
08:58I didn't get too much sleep, man
09:00We got a guy in there snoring like crazy
09:01Other than that, you know, I'm feeling good
09:04I'll get back to my kids
09:05And they mean the world to me, so
09:06This is this is this you know, it's like kind of like my last chance when it comes to that, you know
09:14Okay, line up
09:24Go guys
09:25You don't want to get me out of here in a moment
09:30Ma'am
09:30Oh
09:31Oh
09:31What?
09:31What?
09:39It's on the floor if I did my pat downs for court
09:41I was getting our inmates out for court
09:44And I noticed that on the ground there was a
09:48Small bag that had a blue substance on the inside of it
09:51This appears to be fentanyl tablets at a glance anywhere from 10 to 20 pills
09:56I have suspicion of who it is
09:59He was putting his hands in his waistband
10:03And at one point he even put his left hand on his groin area
10:07But we have reason to believe that one of the individuals had this item in their possession
10:12Tyler
10:12We're gonna talk to you
10:26It's on the floor over the railing after I did my pat downs for court
10:33After reviewing some video footage it looks like he dropped a small baggie with a blue powdery substance
10:50When individuals bring drug contraband into our facility it results in a felony charge
10:56In reviewing some of our facility video cameras we determined which inmates the
11:03package came from
11:22We're not only doing strip searches on the people that were in the cell but we're also
11:26Checking all the blankets and mats to make sure there's not other the contraband in it
11:30We're gonna put it in our evidence locker for safekeeping given the amount
11:35It is probably a low-level drug felony but still a drug felony and he'll have another day in court
11:41It's in your pants, it was on your person, it fell out
11:45It's in your pants, it was on your person, it fell out
11:47You guys gave me
11:47I'm done talking about it
11:49You're not gonna talk about it, why?
11:50Why are you gonna talk about it?
11:52Regular screening, everything, the pants they gave me, something falls out of it onto the floor
11:58What do you think about that?
11:59You can talk to your attorney, sir
12:01Weird, right?
12:02Weird
12:03Talk to my attorney about that
12:04Yep
12:04It's not going to be a part of the clothing that he gets because everything gets washed
12:09Everything gets gone through
12:10Now another inmate could have given it to him in the cell if it wasn't him that brought it in
12:16Unfortunately, it was on his person and he's getting the charges
12:18It's too many
12:45A2
12:45Okay, it's time to go.
12:47My time hasn't expired.
12:49It's really hard to reason with someone that's intoxicated.
12:52I just have a seat to the right.
12:54Sit down, ma'am.
12:55No, you, ma'am.
12:57So you have to be very patient and deal with that.
13:00Please tell them lies.
13:02It's not my story.
13:03That's not what I said at all.
13:06Sometimes what they feel like is a crisis or the worst day of their lives,
13:09not really what's reality.
13:12So what brings you in?
13:13Why were you arrested?
13:14So I was Ubering, and I went to go pick up my first ride of the night,
13:20knowing I'm picking all the drunk people up from the bars and stuff.
13:24And the officer pulled into the parking lot, and two guys got in the back car.
13:29I left.
13:30He made a U-turn and turned his lights on and says,
13:33I have a warrant from IRS.
13:36What did they tell you, though, the warrant was for?
13:38It just says embezzlement $1,000.
13:41That's all I know.
13:42And it's not money, though.
13:43So I don't know.
13:51I have no idea what it's about.
13:53I don't know anything about it.
13:54I've never stolen my life.
13:55I don't steal.
13:56Have you ever been in jail before?
14:00When I was 18, I was.
14:02I mean, it's been so long since I've been in here, and things have changed since I was 18 to where I am now.
14:07So I have a wife and two kids.
14:11Hopefully I can get taken care of and bonded and get home.
14:14I have a wife and two kids.
14:17Do you want the wrong thing, bro?
14:19It's ...
14:20It's ...
14:20It's ...
14:22That's back there.
14:25There was a moped that had been stolen.
14:28I purchased the moped off somebody,
14:31and now I'm getting pinned down for it, I guess,
14:34possession of stolen property.
14:45This is crazy.
14:46This bitch-ass police officer telling the magistrate
14:56the wrong , and I tried to correct him,
14:59and then the magistrate made me leave.
15:02Magistrate, hoe two.
15:05He is very closely working on my last nerve.
15:08What's his bond status?
15:09Good luck.
15:10Yeah, he can roll.
15:12Supposed to make money tomorrow, bro.
15:14Sit on this way, please.
15:15I'm not the wrong .
15:18This is insane.
15:19There's no who's going to get irate like stupid,
15:21because you're not going to get to work.
15:23Oh!
15:35Get off this!
15:36Get off your stomach!
15:37No!
15:39I need you!
15:41Are you ready for us?
15:44I can't hear what you want!
15:46Ow!
15:47Ow!
15:48Ow!
15:49Ow!
15:50Ow!
15:51You can't stand up, turn around,
15:52and face the wall.
15:53Sir.
15:54You can't see what you do!
15:55Ow!
15:56Ow!
15:57Bring your hands to the front.
15:58Take a seat.
15:59Can you tell us why you were brought to jail today?
16:01Sure.
16:02I was brought for a war.
16:04I must fight court on Monday for a DWAI.
16:07I got home, I made a hot chocolate.
16:22I ran up some salt bath.
16:24I was going to soak and get those fumes.
16:26And right when I am trying to get in the bath,
16:28there's banging Mesa County Sheriff's Department.
16:31I do need to come to the door right now.
16:33And I'm like, oh my God, okay, like, don't hate me.
16:37It was terrifying.
16:40What was your original charge?
16:42I moved in with my elderly dad.
16:44And so I was at his house one day,
16:47and this big dog came barreling across the yard.
16:50He was aggressive, I was scared.
16:53I called 911, I got in the car,
16:56and I drove up to the top of dad's driveway
16:58to wait for the officers.
17:00But I had had two wine poolers.
17:03Stupid.
17:05It didn't even dawn on me, guess what?
17:07You just got a DWAI.
17:17What made you miss your court?
17:18Did you have a conflict?
17:20The respiratory issue was so, so sick.
17:30I can't believe I'm here.
17:37The worst part is I have two puppies.
17:41And they were just, like, lying and crying and crying,
17:43like, where are you going?
17:44And they were trying to get to me.
17:47I don't know what happens.
17:48Like, I mean, the judge can either potentially let me go
17:53or he can hold me.
17:55And I don't know how long.
17:57Here, I'll trade you.
18:00If you close it in the lock, so...
18:02Don't close it.
18:03Just be closed on it, yeah.
18:08Hey!
18:10Hey!
18:11Hey!
18:12Hey!
18:13Hey!

28:12i'm going to jail today
28:13i was taking somebody home from work
28:25the night i got the speed into
28:27just they're cruising down the road
28:29listening to music
28:30i came in with that fta warrant
28:32eighty-five and a fifty-five
28:34regular driver is on line charge
28:35oh man it's somewhere to go
28:38when i had court date
28:40i was in the hospital for like a little small heart attack
28:43and got out and had a bunch of doctor appointments and everything
28:46completely forgot all about court
28:49i was going to play on turning myself in
28:51but with work and trying to keep up with bills
28:54i was going to make the right time to do it
28:56like i guess the right time with this accident
29:02i have two stepdaughters and i have a three-year-old in my home
29:06trying to get custody of her
29:08a little bit of fear
29:10losing my youngest child over this situation or something
29:14could potentially impact your custody with your youngest
29:18just getting in trouble with the law period
29:20so i'm just going to pray for the best man
29:23i'm just hoping to get this over with and go home
29:27hopefully i can get a bill

29:45wait
29:51what's up
29:52catch down
29:53you can't do it for a while
29:57You guys can go ahead and stand down to Brandon a little bit further.
30:01I'm going to get out, so I'll go to work, bro.
30:04I want to get back to work as soon as possible.
30:06I don't know how I got this charge, but kind of weird.
30:10Introduction to contraband?
30:12They found contraband in jail clothes that were given in to me.
30:15So, weird, right?
30:17Makes no sense.
30:19All right, let's go, guys.
30:27So, what's going to happen to Corey?
30:50I have no idea.
30:52Hopefully a release.
30:53You guys won't have to deal with me anymore.
30:55Is there a good chance you're going to get released for a while?
30:57I don't know.
30:58Is there anything that you can do to prepare?
31:00You pray beforehand, and you hope that you get out.
31:06Ready?
31:07I don't know anyone ever.
31:08Oh!
31:09We're going that way, though.
31:10It's like we're told.
31:13What happened to your neck?
31:15Oh, God.
31:16So, they were messing around in the block.
31:18One of them fell into my ink, and it just...
31:25It's all up to the judge.
31:29He'll be upset to see me, but hopefully he's in a good mood.
31:34This is probably, like, the last chance.
31:37He's back in the same way.
31:38I have something that I want you to read.
31:39It's, uh, just a personal note from me.
31:54I have something that I want you to read.
32:04It's just a personal note for me.
32:07I'm not going to have time to read it.
32:09In some circumstances, actions speak louder than words.
32:13You tested positive.
32:15Yes, sir.
32:15I think you've been actively using it the whole time.
32:19You thought it's cannabis, it's marijuana,
32:22and I'd rather do it than not,
32:25and so I don't want to change.
32:27I don't know if that's where you still are or not.
32:30No, I definitely do.
32:31I definitely do want to change.
32:32That's what you say.
32:33I don't know if you can do it.
32:35Honestly, I don't.
32:52Let's see how it comes.
32:54I've got PR, and then I've got to do pre-trial service,
32:58so random drug testing.
32:59That's it.
33:00You want to grab your mat and blanket for me?
33:02I would love that.
33:05All right, my mat.
33:06See that big blue fucking right there?
33:08Have your drugs in there for me?
33:10Thank you, my man.
33:10Thank you, sir.
33:14Basically, what it's saying is if you get arrested anywhere
33:16besides state of Colorado,
33:16we're allowed to pull you back and try you on this case.
33:19Okay.
33:19Okay, so I'll have you sign there.
33:21I'm okay for the line.
33:25When I got in here and they gave me my pants,
33:29I said something fell out of my pants,
33:31and it was drug contraband.
33:32So they said that I brought drugs into the jail,
33:35and they said it fell out of my pants somehow somewhere.
33:39So that's why I kept asking.
33:41I said, where's the evidence?
33:42Where's the evidence?
33:42This, this, that.
33:43Oh, you're going to need to talk to your lawyer.
33:44You're going to need to talk to your lawyer.
33:45They didn't even say nothing about it.
33:46They just PR'd me, pawned me out, just like that.
33:48So, so we'll see what happens.
33:51But it'll be a good one to follow up on.
33:53So I'm pretty, I'm pretty excited about that one
33:55because that could be a lawsuit there for sure.
33:58Mm-hmm.
34:00Now Tyler, tell me what's next for you.
34:02I'm going to try and find a cigarette.
34:03I know that.
34:04And then I'm going to go see if I can get a hold
34:07of some family members, get back home,
34:09and get back to work.
34:11Thanks, brother.
34:11Let's talk about kind of where we are
34:33and what our options are.
34:35So with regard to the violation of probation,
34:37do you admit it or deny it?
34:39So here's what I'm prepared to do.
34:42You're going to be released from custody.
34:45You're going to remain on probation,
34:48all of the same terms and conditions,
34:50including successfully completing drug court.
34:53I'm willing to give that a try,
34:55but you need to understand,
34:57if this doesn't work out,
34:59I'm out of options.
35:01Any questions?
35:02No, sir.
35:03All right, good luck.
35:04Thank you, sir.
35:19Thank you, buddy.
35:22Would you like a lot more?
35:31I'm shaking.
35:33Just nerves.
35:35Wish I was home in my Epsom salt bath
35:38with my hot chocolate.
35:41We have court today for a DWAI.
35:45Is that how hard?
35:45And I've been sick for a little while,
35:47and I just slept through the whole court, Nate.
35:51We're all human,
35:52so sometimes things happen,
35:55so hopefully the judge is like,
35:57okay, sorry, you know,
35:58everything will be okay.
36:01All right, we're going to come right up
36:02by that rail, please.
36:04All right, follow me.
36:07Hopefully I make a PR bond
36:09or I'm out today on bond
36:10so I can head home,
36:14get better and do better.
36:16Oh, you heard everything work out.
36:39That's all I can say.
36:41I just ran to the back of the Jeep,
36:42and here I am now.
36:44Where were you headed today
36:46when you work?
36:48You should be at work right now.
36:50Yeah, and we had a party of 100
36:51because I'm a cook,
36:52so they kind of upset
36:54I can't be there
36:55because I'm the Jeep cook.
36:57Come on down.
36:57Get some presents.
37:02Take these cups off, please.
37:06All right, man, look up here for me.
37:08Turn to the right.
37:10Hey, come on up now.
37:12Get them comfort.
37:13What's your favorite?
37:14What about garlic palm, though?
37:16Garlic palm, good.
37:17Come on, now.
37:18Cheerleaders.
37:19Cheerleaders, though.
37:20What's that?
37:21I'm scared there.
37:22Barbecues, cannabis, and brown sugar.
37:25I mixed them together.
37:26They got my own sauce.
37:27What's it called?
37:28You called it Roy's sauce.
37:29The Roy's sauce?
37:30Yeah.
37:31What's in it?
37:32I can't tell you, bro.
37:33That's a secret.
37:33All right, man.
37:34We'll send you back out there.
37:35Getting the secrets away.
37:36Yeah.
37:37Easy.
37:38Coming back.
37:39You going to try Cheerleaders sauce on the rings next time?
37:43Damn right I am.
37:44Like that.
37:45So when you get out of here, you think you're going to go straight to work?
37:47It's been enough time, yeah.
37:49I need them out.
37:50Easy, coming back.
37:52Are you going to try cheerleader sauce on your wings next time?
37:55Damn right I am, like that.
37:57So when you get out of here, you think you're going to go straight to work?
38:00It's been another time, yeah.
38:02I need to move.
38:05The number one thing in my life.
38:07Family, work, family, work.
38:11That's all I do.
38:13I thought I was going to make you to work, go hang on the party, do my time, and go home.
38:18Don't know what's going to happen.
38:33All right, we're going to go right this way.
38:37You woke up in front of the judge, what happens?
38:40He basically says, um, you messed up, but you've got another chance.
38:45I got a stern scolding, but I said, I understand.
38:48I think he's just trying to teach me to stop being stupid and just do the right thing.
38:54I might go into some treatment, but I don't really think I need it.
38:59As long as I have clean tests, it shouldn't really matter.
39:04They wanted me to go to, I don't know, do you know what Oxford House is?
39:07Get you on your feet there, I know that.
39:09I think you should do it, to tell you the truth.
39:11I wish I did it, instead of waiting until you're 40 to try to straighten your life out.
39:16You know what I mean?
39:17You got your whole life ahead of you.
39:19We'll figure it out.
39:21Do you think Rija is a good option for you?
39:28I don't know.
39:30I really don't, but we'll see what happens.
39:33I don't know what happens.
39:56You got two thumbs up great nails.
40:05I explained to the judge everything, and yeah, he was very accommodating today.
40:10We got PR bonds on each one, so that means I get to go home today.
40:16Yes.
40:17And I'm going to snag that snazzy wristband of yours.
40:20Perfect.
40:21Follow me.
40:26I'm happy.
40:27I got to get some good food, and I'm going to make it the next court date.
40:32You're close.
40:35Here we go.
40:38So I have a future court date, but until then I'm released, so I get to go home.
40:45I'm mostly excited for my puppies.
40:47Like, I miss them so bad.
40:49It's my little silver lab, the six-month-old.
40:53He's such a ham.
40:55We're free.
40:58Freedom smells good.
41:00Great.
41:01I'm going to hold on to it tighter this time.
41:04Hopefully never coming back again.
41:07See you guys later.
41:09Bye-bye.
41:10I'm just waiting on your paperwork, okay?
41:25It shouldn't be too much longer.
41:27Okay.
41:28This process quick enough, I can get to work.
41:29I'm a secured bond.
41:30$1,500.
41:31Don't got to pay it.
41:32Get to go home.
41:33I'm good with that.
41:34I'm very relieved to know that.
41:35I can go home and then get it settled the right way in court.
41:39I'm happy about that.
41:40Just got to be the court.
41:41January 25th.
41:42I will do that.
41:43I will do that.
41:44We got to shoot yourself.
41:45We're going to move the way down to that door.
41:46Make it left.
41:47Always down to that little door.
41:48Get to go home.
41:50I'm good with that.
41:51I'm very relieved to know that I can go home
41:54and then get it settled the right way in court.
41:57I'm happy about that.
42:00Just got to be the court in January 25th.
42:02I will do that.
42:06Don't touch yourself.
42:08We're going to go down there to that door.
42:11Make it left.
42:13Go down there to those doors.
42:14Just waiting for a little foot, out door.
42:16All right.
42:17Do you think the guys at work are going to believe you
42:19to tell them where you were?
42:20Probably not.
42:22But I'm going to give them the paperwork to show it.
42:26Don't speak and not go to court.
42:28That's what I can tell you.
42:30We'll end up in here.
42:32See me again.
