00:00So, who inspires you, male or female, emcees or any particular artist whenever you're creating?
00:07Who inspires you?
00:09You know what?
00:10It changes throughout the years.
00:12Like, I've always been a fan, you know, of like, people like Jay-Z and The Locks and,
00:18you know, TMX and Maze.
00:20Like, that's the whole era that I grew up when, like, I was in junior high school and
00:23I was watching them do what they do, like, real lyrics and people, like, with their own
00:28individual style.
00:29Like, if you heard a song, you know if it was DMX, you know if it was Jay-Z, because
00:32you know if it was Maze.
00:33Like, everybody had their own little lane, as opposed to now where it's kind of like,
00:36everyone sounds the same.
00:38But, throughout the years, I've added people to that, like, I love Drake, I love Little
00:43Wayne, you know.
00:45And there's females that I like too, but I just think I'm better than them, so I don't
00:50really.
00:51And there's nothing to do with that.
00:52So, it's not like, like, I'll sit there and be like, hmm, how can I do that for better?
00:56Alright, cool.
00:57But that's a good competitive spirit.
00:58I mean, any athlete would do it and nobody would look at that.
01:00Right, but I don't, you know what's so crazy?
01:01I really don't compare my people.
01:03Like, you know, as a female rapper, I really don't compare myself just to girls.
01:07I look at who's the top at all period, and most of the time it's men.
01:11Right.
01:12And I'm like, yep, I'm going after him.
01:14Yep, thank you.
01:15Now we have a fan question for you, Kayla.
01:17Who do we have, girlfriend?
01:18First loss of love from fans, and they love your outfit, they love everything you're wearing.
01:23Angie Jones wants to know, how does it feel returning back to the game with the absence
01:26of femcs and in an industry overly dominated by men?
01:30I would probably say that with so many men that there is, there's also, there are females,
01:38it's just, we don't really get that light that we need.
01:41So I feel like, and no disrespect at all, but what Nicki was doing was amazing, but she
01:49was doing it so huge that I feel like it made other females feel like they couldn't compete.
01:54Like I used to be sitting there like, so no one's going to put out any songs, no one's
01:58going to like try to do anything.
01:59Right.
02:00And I feel like with me coming into the game, people feel like they can like do what I'm
02:06doing.
02:07I don't know if that, if that makes sense.
02:08Like, I don't feel like I'm so far out of reach.
02:11Like even I look at Nicki Minaj and be like, okay, she's beautiful.
02:15She's like has this gorgeous body and she makes these huge records.
02:18And even though I make good records and I don't think I'm ugly at all, I just feel like
02:22people feel like I'm more of like the girl next door, like, you know, where they can
02:26like, well, Rem, like Rem could do it.
02:28Okay.
02:29Then I could do it.
02:30Like, especially after coming through so many hurdles and trials and tribulations and adversities
02:34and able to still be successful, it makes people feel like they can do it.
02:38So I think that we will be seeing more because now that I look and I'm really actually actively
02:44looking to see other females, I see more of that are kind of like me that are coming out as
02:49opposed to people feeling like they have to try to reach this unattainable, you know, level.
02:55What level do you see yourself reaching?
02:58Like when you think about where you want your career to go, what does that look like?
03:01Um, you know, I care about it and I think it's something that, you know, I enjoy to do.
03:09But I just let it, whatever happens, happens.
03:13Like my goal is to just mainly make sure that my family is stable and my home life is what I wanted
03:20and needed to be.
03:21Like that's my main happiness.
03:23And that's something that I learned at being away because before I used to focus so much on,
03:26I got to make it to this level and I got to make this amount of money and I want to buy this and I want to do this.
03:31But when I couldn't do anything, those are not the things that I was worried about.
03:35Those are not the things like I didn't care about my car.
03:37I didn't care about my house, my hair, nothing.
03:39Like I cared about my son and my husband and, you know, going to the zoo and going to the park
03:44and just doing like normal family things.
03:46So, you know, as far as my career, I work on it and I work hard at it,
03:49but that's not something that I just put before everything like I used to do.
03:54I'm sorry.
04:12So, go outside.
04:18So we need to walk you now.
