00:20And in Venezuela, President Delos Rodriguez announced the first shipment of liquefied petroleum gas, a milestone of the national hydrocarbon industry.
00:33And in Iran, authorities warned that any U.S. aggression will have serious consequences for the entire region.
00:42Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the DLSU studios in Havana, Cuba. We begin with the news.
00:49The Cuban government strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and reaffirms its willingness to work with the United States and any other nation on regional and international security issues.
01:12The Foreign Ministry emphasized that the country neither harbors nor supports or finances extremists or terrorist organizations and ratifies its policy of zero tolerance towards the financing of disgorge and money laundering.
01:24Groen pointed out that contacts with individuals and organizations designated as terrorists took place in limited humanitarian contexts linked to peace processes recognized internationally at the request of foreign governments and were conducted in a clear and transparent manner.
01:39Likewise, Havana categorically rejected the designation of the threat to the United States while denying the existence of military bases of foreign intelligence on its territory.
01:55In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Caribbean nation expressed that the Cuban people and the U.S. people benefit from constructive engagement, cooperation in accordance with the law, and peaceful coexistence.
02:06Cuba reaffirms its willingness to maintain a respectful and reciprocal dialogue geared toward tangible results with the government of the United States based on mutual interests and international law.
02:21In Mexico, a demonstration was held to denounce the intensification of the U.S. blockade against Cuba aimed at preventing oil from breaching the island, a situation that could lead to a crisis in public and essential services.
02:33And turn around with the details.
02:36Various procurement activist organizations held a political and cultural event in the former United States Embassy in Mexico to demand lifting of the economic and oil blockade against the island.
02:47During the demonstration, activists warned that Donald Trump's threats to impose tariffs on countries that send oil to Cuba will provoke an unnecessary humanitarian crisis.
03:06It is a brutal blockade, which is why we are also telling our government that Mexican oil has to go to Cuba. We are talking about death, it is death. This is part of those warlike measures that strangle a dignified people like Cuba. And this obviously means they will not have access to electricity or many other essential services.
03:30The organization called the people of Mexico to maintain their stance of providing humanitarian aid as an act of national sovereignty.
03:37The organization called the people of Mexico to maintain their stance of providing humanitarian aid as an act of national sovereignty.
03:43We are urging the Mexican government to maintain this support. We know the pressures are many, but as our president has rightly said a dignified woman, a brave woman's sovereignty of our country comes first, and this relationship cannot be betrayed. Mexico comes first, its sovereignty, and as such, as a people and a sovereign nation, we will always stand firm. This is an act to show the Mexican government that we want support for Cuba to continue.
04:10And they also propose that all levels of local and state governments speak out in favor of ATQ veterans to ensure continuous support.
04:21Whether as humanitarian aid or in any way necessary, the important thing is not to stop, not even for a second supporting this great revolution, which, the more it is attacked and opposed, continues to be more supportive of the peoples of the world.
04:35The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, recently stated that preventing oil for reaching Cuba could significantly impact basic cibers for the Cuban people. She added that Mexico will seek alternatives to continue sending humanitarian aid.
04:50The imposition of tariffs on countries that supply oil to Cuba could trigger a large-scale humanitarian crisis, directly affecting hospitals and other basic services for the Cuban people. This situation must be avoided through respect for international law and dialogue between the parties.
05:11The President also stated that this humanitarian aid will consist primarily of food supplies.
05:20The Mexican activists stated that they will continue encouraging the shipping of oil to Cuba to prevent the crisis.

05:41Venezuela's acting president, Dolce Rodriguez, announced the export of the country's first gas molecule, positioning the nation as an emerging power in this field.
06:08The acting president announced the departure of the Crystal Piggy Ladyship with the first shipment of liquefied petroleum gas, affirming that this milestone was achieved together with the working class for the welfare of the Venezuelan people.
06:20Previously, on January 16th, the acting president had reported during the National Council of Productive Economy that for the first time in its history, Venezuela had signed a contract for the commercialization of liquefied petroleum gas, a step that positions Venezuela as an emerging power in this field beyond oil.
06:36It was also highlighted that this export represents the efforts of the national hydrocarbon industry to continue this sustained increase in its sovereign production.
06:48Venezuela celebrates 27 years since the beginning of the Bolivarian revolution led by commander Hugo Chavez after winning the 1998 presidential elections. On February 2nd, 1999, Hugo Chavez was sworn in as president of Venezuela after being elected with more than 56% of the vote.
07:06At the time, Chavez became the first leader of a non-traditional political party to govern the South American country.
07:12In a few months, the commander of the Bolivarian revolution promoted a constituent process to reform the 1961 constitution with the aim of laying the foundations for a new socio-political and inclusive model.
07:23Chavez's government ended more than 40 years of bipartisan policies to listen to and raise the voice of the most vulnerable and borderline sectors of the country.
07:33And as part of this commemoration, Venezuelan foreign minister Ivan Hill wrote on his social media accounts 27 years ago, the history of Venezuela changed forever.
07:48Commander Hugo Chavez took office on February 2nd, 1999 after winning the December 1998 elections with 56.20% of the vote.
07:55Thus began the Bolivarian revolution and the fifth republic where sovereignty, people's power, justice, dignity and anti-imperialism became the new foundations of Venezuelan society.
08:05For his part, the Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez also wrote,
08:12We congratulate the government and people of Venezuela on the 27th anniversary of the triumph of the Bolivarian and Chavista revolution.
08:20That date marked a milestone in the history of our Americas due to its commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity and development of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.
08:30We will continue to defend the legacy of Commander Hugo Chavez and the release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.
08:36And on Sunday, Colombian President Gustavo Petro arrived in the United States where he will follow a four-day official agenda focused on bilateral issues.
08:51According to the official schedule, the meeting with President Donald Trump will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd at 11 a.m. local time,
08:58and will seek to define the roadmap for the relationship between the countries.
09:02The delegation accompanying the head of state includes Foreign Minister Rosa Villavicencio,
09:06Defense Minister Pedro Sánchez, Director of Crop Substitution, Gloria Miranda, and President of ECO Petro, Ricardo No Roa.
09:14Prior to the dialogue with President Trump, the Colombian leader will hold a meeting on Monday at the Organization of American States.
09:20The visit aims to rebuild diplomatic relations and make progress on issues of security, cooperation, migration and the economy.
09:27And in Costa Rica, after the release of preliminary results from presidential and legislative elections by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal,
09:38official candidate Laura Fernández has emerged victorious with 41-51% of the vote.
09:46Fernández from the right-wing Sovereign People's Party surpassed the 40% threshold required by Costa Rican electoral law winning the election in the first round,
09:54with a vote turnout of 72.36%, the highest since 2022.
09:59Fernández defeated her closest rivals, Álvaro Ramos from the National Liberation Party,
10:04who at the time of their preliminary results release had 38.13% of the votes,
10:08and Claudia Robles from Citizen Agenda Coalition, who trails with 584%.
10:13This marks the second time in Costa Rica's 204-year history that a woman has been elected president.
10:20And according to preliminary data from the Costa Rican Supreme Electoral Tribunal,
10:28the governing conservative Sovereign People's Party leads the results of the legislative elections held on Sunday,
10:34with a significant advantage of its main contenders.
10:36With 90% of the ballots counted, the Sovereign People's Party has obtained 3909% of the votes,
10:41which would allow it to obtain around 30 seats in the legislative assembly.
10:45In second place is the historic National Liberation Party with 25.29% and 18 deputies,
10:51followed by the Broad Front with 15.72% of the votes.
10:55Further behind are the Citizen Agenda Coalition and the Christian Social Unity Party with one deputy each.
11:01And reports reveal that Haiti is facing one of the most serious crises in its recent history,
11:13marked by territorial control by armed groups, the collapse of covenants, and a deep humanitarian emergency.
11:18The escalation of violence is particularly severe in Port-au-Prince,
11:22the capital where criminal armed groups control approximately 80% of the territory.
11:26As a result, millions of people face food insecurity, forced displacement,
11:30and lack of access to basic services.
11:33This alarming situation has the United Nations and international aid agencies on high alert,
11:38although assistance efforts have been limited, mainly affecting Haitian families.
11:42A cold front driven by high pressures from North America is affecting the weather in Central America today,
12:03bringing north winds, falling temperatures and rain in specific areas.
12:07According to official reports, the climate pattern affects everything from daily activities to maritime conditions.
12:13The strong pressure contrast is accelerating northern winds toward the region,
12:17causing a drop in temperatures in intense storms and, in the Caribbean, increased cloudiness and rain.
12:23In this scenario, the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies indicated that these conditions are creating a less hot environment
12:29and moderate to strong winds as well as rain and occasional thunderstorms in the Caribbean, with increased waves out at sea.

12:57Welcome back. In the United States, the Republican Party lost in the state of Texas for the first time in 36 years,
13:21following the special elections in District 9.
13:23President Donald Trump's candidate lost the election by 14 points,
13:26which coincides with the protests against the immigration rates carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement
13:31and the drop in the polls due to economic instability.
13:34Meanwhile, Democrat Taylor Remet, a trade unionist, won a seat in the Texas State Senate,
13:39a surprising turn of events, giving President Trump's return to the White House.
13:43The loss of ground suggests that Republican supremacy is crumbling in the face of the executive racist and aggressive policies.
13:51The U.S. Department of Justice has released an extensive file on the Jeffrey Epstein case,
13:59including disturbing testimony from alleged victims.
14:02Among the documents, one standout allegation describes ritual sacrifices,
14:06the dismembering of babies, and acts of cannibalism.
14:09One of the testimonies collected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation
14:12describes scenes of extreme violence and rituals involving physical assaults and inhumane practices.
14:18After these texts were published, social media linked this information to past allegations such as those made in 2008
14:25by Mexican model Gabriela Rico, who publicly accused international elites of practicing cannibalism.
14:32After this accusation, the Mexican model was never seen again.
14:37The latest release of Epstein's files reveals also, in addition to unspeakable horrors,
14:46this criminal's active involvement in crucial foreign policy issues.
14:49Geopolitique was a vital issue, which explains why his agenda of abuse and crimes includes the names of presidents,
14:56prime ministers, and royal family members.
14:58In one of the most striking emails recently published, Epstein has an exchange with businessman and political strategist Peter Thiel,
15:06where he exposes the plan of U.S. foreign policy.
15:09The premise is clear and quite similar to what is observed in the current administration of President Donald Trump.
15:15A divided world in permanent conflict is less able to challenge the United States.
15:19The finding also suggests that this is not a plan from the past, but one that continues to flow through sectors of the current political and economic elites,
15:28as an idea of controlled destabilization.
15:38And further leaks, in the case of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein exposed Thor Halbertsen,
15:42president of the Human Rights Foundation and cousin of opposition leader and Venezuelan fugitive from Justice Leopoldo Lopez.
15:48Halbertsen is also the link between the Nobel Peace Prize Foundation and the Venezuelan extremist Maria Corina Machado.
15:55He is being pointed to as the negotiator of the award that has suffered historical disgrace,
16:00since the award winner expressed public support for genocide and plotted a military invasion
16:05that claimed the lives of over 200 civilians in Korean waters and on Venezuelan territory.
16:10The documents link their right-winger to Ghislaine Maxwell and the intermediation of investors in technology projects.
16:23And the Chinese government expressed its discontent with the actions of U.S. authorities
16:27against citizens of companies belonging to the Asian nation.
16:30Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lian Jian explained that U.S. law enforcement agencies conducted interrogations,
16:37detentions and deportations of Chinese company personnel.
16:40He also denounced that the procedures were abrupt and seriously affected the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizens,
16:47which damages the environment of commercial cooperation and interpersonal interests between the countries.
16:52Meanwhile, the spokesperson urged Washington to take Beijing's warming seriously
16:55and demanded that law enforcement agencies immediately cease their wrongful actions.
17:06An Iranian authorities warned that a regional war could break out if threats of U.S. attacks against the country are carried out.
17:12Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Saeed Ali Khamenei stated that if the United States were to launch attacks against Iran,
17:18it would have defaced the entire region.
17:21The Iranian leader emphasized that Iran would not start any war, but that they are ready to respond firmly to any foreign aggression.
17:28The Iranian leader also declared that together with the people they had defeated the threats of violation of sovereignty
17:34by terrorist groups financed by Washington and Tel Aviv.
17:37He also reaffirmed that the Iranian people will continue to resist U.S. imperialism.
17:42And in this context, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagay, stated at a press conference on Monday that countries in the region are making collective efforts to prevent an escalation of tension.
17:57The spokesperson also called on the international community to remain vigilant in the face of media misinformation regarding regional issues by third parties,
18:06and emphasized that Iranian diplomacy continues to work to secure national interests and safeguard regional peace and stability.
18:13He also reiterated that the Iranian government has always been open to dialogue with the United States, but without conditions or threats to its sovereignty or interests.
18:22The Israeli regime reopened the Rafa border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, but only to a limited number of Palestinians,
18:50after delaying the process for several days.
18:53The move is part of the agreement signed by the Saudi State, which just a few days ago announced a limited opening from this Monday.
18:59After a blockade of almost two years, this reopening is being carried out in a pilot phase under strict security measures and with the coordination of Egypt and the European Union.
19:08The crossing will allow pedestrian traffic in both directions, mainly for people requiring medical attention.
19:13According to Egyptian estimates, nearly 200 cancer patients and people with other serious illnesses,
19:19as well as injured people will cross this passage daily to reach Egyptian health centers.
19:24And in southern Lebanon, an Israeli drone attacked a car in Haruf Square in the district of Nabatie, causing a fire and leaving several people injured.
19:39The Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that six people were injured during the Israeli airstrike.
19:45In addition, it was reported that Israeli troops attacked the town of Aitarun with machine guns in the same area of Nabatie.
19:52Let's recall that the Lebanese government has repeatedly denounced Israel's violations of national sovereignty and the ceasefire agreement signed on November 27, 2024,
20:01through raids on towns and cities in the south of the country and the Beka Valley, as well as repeated violations of airspace with drones and warplanes.
