00:31of Washington's attempts to deny its economic strangulation tactics.

00:46of a U.S. meteory operation in the area.
00:56Hello, welcome to From the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Dele Zoo Studios in Caracas, Venezuela.
01:01We begin with the news.
01:16Venezuela appears before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the Netherlands,
01:20to reaffirm its historical position on the Ezequiel region.
01:24The country's presence at this meeting reaffirms its long-standing and uncheckable position
01:28that the International Court of Justice is not the competent body to resolve this dispute.
01:33Nevertheless, a government, with the support of the people, maintains that it will go wherever necessary
01:38to defend its rights and share its truth with the world.
01:41The Bolivarian nation reiterates that the only viable solution is direct negotiation between the parties
01:46as set out in the Geneva Agreement.
01:49The Bolivarian delegation is not coming to the Hague to submit to a process it does not recognize
01:54but to exercise its sovereignty with dignity, presenting, arguing and defending
01:58without resorting to the judicialization of conflicts inherited from colonialism,
02:02as ratified by its Foreign Minister Ivan Hill from the International Headquarters.
02:13Venezuela's Foreign Minister Ivan Hill emphasized the importance of upholding the 1966 new agreement
02:19signed between Caracas and Guyana to reach an agreement on Guayana Ezequiva.
02:24Via his official channel on the Telegram social media platform, the Foreign Minister stated,
02:29Historically, Venezuela has supported the decolonization of peoples and territories,
02:35a position that stems from our own struggle against Spanish colonization
02:39and later against territorial dispossession of the Ezequiva orchestrated by the British Empire
02:44from which Guyana benefited.
02:46Faithful to our anti-imperialist principles, sovereignty and diplomacy of peace,
02:50Venezuela today defends the Geneva Agreement signed in 1966 between Caracas
02:55and the newly independent Guyana to seek a solution through that sovereign and mutually satisfactory
03:03regarding the territory of Guayana Ezequiva.
03:06Our position remains firm.
03:08We do not accept the involvement of a third party such as the International Court of Justice
03:13where Guyana attempts to distort history and legitimize a colonial dispossession.
03:25The UN representative of Venezuela to the United Nations, Samuel Moncada, in his statements
03:30before the International Court of Justice defended Venezuela's territorial sovereignty over the Ezequiva.
03:41This statement reflects, in terms of sovereign will, a consistent course of action.
03:47On that understanding, Venezuela is here today because it cannot remain silent in the face of a process
03:53that Guyana intends to use unilaterally redefine both the nature of the territorial dispute
03:58and the scope of the obligations imposed on Venezuela and Guyana under the Geneva Agreement.
04:06Venezuela appears today with the responsibility to respond to Guyana's erroneous and misleading narrative
04:12and to clearly set forth the true legal framework of the territorial dispute,
04:18as well as the limits that international law and the Geneva Agreement itself imposed on Guyana's attempt
04:24to fraudulently alter the dispute and the binding obligations.
04:47U.S. Senator Marco Rubio stated on Tuesday that the oil blockade against Cuba does not exist.
04:52The revolutionary government responded with irrefutable evidence.
04:57In the last four months, only one ship has arrived on the island.
05:01Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez exposes the contradictions in the official narrative,
05:06demonstrating that the facts are irrefutable and are backed by President Donald Trump himself.
05:11On January 29, 2026, the White House issued an executive order threatening tariffs against any country
05:17that dares to export fuel to the island.
05:19The effect was immediate and devastating, but as if that were not enough,
05:24on May 1, while millions of Cubans ratified their right to live in peace with dignity and sovereignty,
05:29President Trump signed a new executive order expanding secondary sanctions in the energy sector.
05:35Cuba is not facing an energy crisis, but rather a blockade deliberately planned and executed by Washington
05:41with the intention of causing collective suffering which constitutes a war crime in order to break its resolve.
05:53Let's take now our first break. Stay with us.
06:20Welcome back.
06:20In Peru, civil society groups and experts condemn racist and discriminatory rhetoric from the far right
06:26against indigenous peoples during the election campaign.
06:30One of the promoters of this rhetoric is Rafael Lopez Aliaga, a former far-right candidate
06:34who has launched verbal attacks against voters in the south of the country and threatened electoral authorities.
06:40In this context, experts have emphasized that racism is a crime punishable by law and a structural problem ignored by
06:47state authorities.
06:48So it is hoped that exemplary sanctions will be imposed on those responsible.
06:59And this is used that the historical PAC's presidential candidate, Ivan Cepeda,
07:04denounced the alleged interference of the armed groups in Colombia's electoral process.
07:10The candidate categorically denied any attempt to coerce the electorate in this regard.
07:16He demanded exhaustive investigations and exemplary sanctions against those responsible
07:20considering that these actions constitute a direct threat to democracy.
07:24Furthermore, the progressive candidate emphasized that the freedom to vote is a fundamental pillar that must be protected.
07:39And in Mexico, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has urged the National Minors Union to file formal complaints
07:46with the public prosecutor's office following alerts about possible infiltration by organized crime in the sector.
07:52The agency warned on Tuesday that if these allegations are confirmed, they would constitute a serious violation of freedom of
07:59association and labor rights, as well as possible criminal offenses that require investigation.
08:04The allegations made by union leader Napoleon Gómez Urrutia point to irregular practices at several mining companies which have raised
08:11concerns about worker safety and the legality of union processes in the country.
08:16With this statement, the government agency is not dismissing the allegations but rather emphasizing that if they are true, they
08:23must be addressed through the appropriate legal channels to ensure an effective investigation and sanction.
08:35And Argentina ranked as the country with the sharpest industrial decline in the world between 2023 and 2025, according to
08:42a report by the consulting firm Audemus.
08:45Neighboring countries such as Brazil, Chile and Uruguay recorded growth rates exceeding 3%.
08:51Argentina's manufacturing activity declined by nearly 8% under President Javier Milay's administration.
08:57This performance places the country at the bottom of a ranking of 80 nations, outperforming even Hungary amid its manufacturing
09:06crisis and showing that the slump is not due to global conditions but rather to local economic policy.
09:13The social impact of this setback is reflected in the loss of more than 79,000 industrial jobs and the
09:19closure of nearly 2,900 factories in just over two years.
09:28And the political committee of El Salvador's legislative assembly approved two key rulings on Tuesday to amend the constitution and
09:35reform the country's political representation.
09:38The first measure seeks to allocate dedicated legislative seats to Salvadorans living abroad, known as the diaspora, by reducing the
09:46number of the current 60 deputies without increasing the total number of legislators.
09:50Furthermore, the amendment to Article 208 will remove the authority of the political parties with the most votes to nominate
09:58justices to the Supreme Electoral Court.
10:01The bill has sparked debate because it has not yet been determined how many deputies will represent overseas voters or
10:08which departments will have their current seats removed.
10:11The opposition, represented by the Arena Party, questioned the lack of clarity regarding the future composition of the Assembly, warning
10:19that some provinces could be underrepresented.
10:28In Haiti, violence has once again struck the journalistic community.
10:33In recent days, two journalists were murdered in incidents that took place in different parts of the country.
10:38The victims are sports journalist Jean-Brunet Bontom, who was shot and killed May 1st in Port-au-Prince, and
10:45photojournalist Jean-Marc Stevenson, whose body was found days later in the southern city of Leclerc, after he had been
10:53reported missing.
10:54Both cases have caused concern among colleagues and professional organizations.
10:59The Haitian Sports Press Association described the incident as a significant loss and called on the authorities to move forward
11:05in clarifying the facts.
11:07According to reports, more than 100 journalists have left the country in recent years due to threats and insecurity.
11:19Let's now take our second and final break. Don't go away.
11:24Let's now take our second and final break.
11:54U.S. President Donald Trump says he is forcing his so-called Project Freedom, a new interventionist military adventure with
12:01the self-described aim of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
12:04Trump made the announcement in a post on his troop social platform on Wednesday, just one day after declaring the
12:11initiation of the project.
12:12Framed as a humanitarian effort to free stranded merchant ships, the project was supposed to involve the U.S. guiding
12:19commercial vessels out of the Strait of Hormuz.
12:22Let's recall that Iran shot down the Strait to enemies and their allies following the launch on February 28th of
12:29the United States and the Israeli regime's latest bout of unprovoked aggression targeting the Islamic Republic.
12:43And Iran is pushing for new terms for shipments through the Strait of Hormuz amid the suspension of a U
12:48.S. military operation in the area.
12:50The Revolutionary Guard announced that to ensure safe and reliable traffic through the Strait, new procedures will be implemented once
12:57the threat from the aggressors has passed.
12:59Iran assured that it will control 2,000 km of maritime border in the Persian Gulf and that the historic
13:06order of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution will be enforced.
13:09It will also thank those who comply with its navigation regulations.
13:13This follows the United States' suspension of Operation Freedom, the mission aimed at freeing ships' detentions in the area.
13:29And the Foreign Ministry of Iran has called on the United Arab Emirates to discontinue its alignment and cooperation with
13:35the parties that are hostile to the country,
13:37saying the Islamic Republic reserves all right to respond in kind.
13:41In a message on Tuesday, the Ministry noted that Abu Dhabi has allowed its territory to be used for attacks
13:46targeting Iran during the latest round of unprovoked aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime.
13:52In this context, the Ministry cautioned the Emirates against continuing what it called destructive actions in collusion with hostile parties,
14:00adding that beyond contributing to aggression, the United Arab Emirates' hosting of adversary spaces and equipment carries dangerous consequences for
14:08regional peace and stability.
14:17The Chinese government expressed its support for Iran and described the war led by the United States and Israel in
14:23the Middle East as illegitimate.
14:25The statements were made during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Arakshi,
14:31who discussed the issues related to cooperation and bilateral ties in the region.
14:35Wang Yi stated that the region is at a critical turning point and that dialogue between both parties is necessary.
14:43In this regard, the Iranian Foreign Minister warned that Tehran would do everything possible to protect its legitimate rights and
14:49interests during negotiations with the United States and Israel.
14:59In the Middle East, tensions remain high along the border between Israel and Lebanon, despite the recent ceasefire agreement.
15:07The vice chairman of Hezbollah's political council, Mahmoud Kamati, said that the group will stand its ground and continue its
15:14actions until Israeli forces withdraw completely from Lebanese territory.
15:18These statements come amid new episodes of violence in southern Lebanon, where Israeli attacks using missiles, artillery and drones have
15:25been reported.
15:26According to reports, Hezbollah has carried out defensive actions in various areas, while Israel continues its incursions in the region.
15:39The offensive by Israel on the Gaza Strip continues to intensify despite the formal ceasefire.
15:44In effect, the General Solar Forces control 60% of the Palestinian enclave, while the living conditions of millions of
15:50Gazans worsen.
15:52National and international organizations confirm that the bombardments never stopped completely and new civilian casualties have been reported in recent
16:00hours.
16:00Summultaneously, the humanitarian crisis is worsening due to the blockade imposed by Israel in vital aid.
16:07The humanitarian toll has reached devastating levels, with more than 72,000 people killed and over 172,000 injured.
16:16United Nations Special Rapporteur Francesca Aldo Moniz claims that there is a global necrocapitalism that not only allows the genocide
16:23in Gaza, but also finances and supports it.
16:33An Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Arakshi, met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Wednesday during an official visit to
16:39China.
16:40Our correspondent, Bruno Fossey, with the details.
16:45Greetings, comrades.
16:46Here from Beijing, the Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Arakshi, met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi today during an official
16:56visit amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
17:02Wang Yi described the military escalation against Tehran as illegitimate and called for a complete and necessary ceasefire in the
17:15region.
17:15He also indicated that China remained ready to strengthen diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and promote direct dialogue between
17:26the parties involved.
17:27For his part, Arakshi thanked Beijing for its support, particularly its stance against sanctions and external pressures.
17:39The Iranian foreign minister described the situation as open aggression and violation of international law and affirmed that Iran will
17:51continue to use all available diplomatic mechanisms to defend its legitimate rights.
17:59The visit follows the intensified context between the two foreign ministers and coordination in multilateral forums, including the United Nations
18:12Security Council, where initiatives promoted by Western powers have been questioned either by Iran, China or Russia.
18:22The meeting also takes place within a global context of transition toward a more multipolar international order, with a greater
18:33role for the global south and the reconfiguration of strategic balance among major powers.
18:41The meeting also takes place within the United States, amid expectations of a high-level summit between the United States
18:47and China, scheduled for mid-May in Beijing, where Trump is going to meet with Xi Jinping.
18:56With this meeting, China consolidated its role as a central diplomatic actor in West Asia, in a scenario of shifting
19:06international order and the search of alternatives to the dominant global architecture.
19:13With this news, from here, the captain of China will go back with you in our studios.
19:21In other topics, a drone attack on the two gas stations in the city of Kosti, Sudan, left five dead
19:27and nine injured.
19:28The Sudanese Doctors Network blamed the Rapid Support Forces for this bombing of fuel facilities in the state of White
19:34Nile.
19:35The organization condemned these systematic attacks on civilian infrastructure, stating that they reflect a total disregard for human life and
19:42exacerbate the already critical humanitarian and health crisis affecting the region.
19:47This incident comes amid an escalation of technological violence that hit Khartoum International Airport last Monday.
19:55The Sudanese government has escalated diplomatic tensions by recalling its ambassador to Ethiopia for consultations.
20:02Sudanese authorities accused Aris Ababa of being involved in the attack on the airport, an accusation the Ethiopian government has
20:10categorically denied, while drones continue to strike the states of Khartoum and Hesida.
