Crews credited the candor of other women as the inspiration to come forward with his own story.

00:00I was really prepared to go all the way alone, because that's what women have normally gone
00:06through. My big thing was to never internalize the shame, because if you internalize the
00:13shame, you stay on the plantation. The only way to become free is to shed the shame. And
00:21by talking about it, you free other people. And that was my whole goal, because I was
00:27inspired by the ladies who came forward, the women who had so much courage. It actually
00:32inspired me. And I said, I got to tell. I have to share my story. It's been an incredible
00:38kind of circle. And my job is never, ever to speak for women, but to only hold other
00:43men accountable for what I know. And the circle that I'm in to another guy to say, hey, man,
00:51that's not right. And to hold men accountable for what they do. And let the ladies
00:57handle themselves. They've been doing a great job for eons.
