00:00An escape to the country can be about new experiences.
00:05I'm meant to be the hard man of football.
00:07What are people going to say about me if I walk down the street with a miniature pig?
00:10But there's only so much you can teach an old dog.
00:13Look at this view.
00:18We hope our rural houses will strike the right chord.
00:21Can you hear the acoustics and all that?
00:27Not as good as a fall.
00:29So that when the final whistle goes, it's a home win.
00:32This is escape to the country.
00:34This is a proper escape here.
00:35This is escape to the country.
00:36And I want to escape to the country right now.
00:39There's something soothing, calming, even softening about the countryside.
00:49There's something soothing, calming, even softening about the countryside.
01:02It can make even the hardest of us drop our shoulders, forget about our troubles and relax.
01:09And that's good news as today.
01:12I'm going to be helping one of football's original tough guys find a home here.
01:17Ex-England international Neil Razor-Ruddock is looking to swap his football boots for a pair of wellies.
01:25The pitch for a vegetable patch.
01:28The roar of the crowd for the moo of the cows.
01:31He's no longer chasing down strikers.
01:34His goal now is for him and his family to escape to the country.
01:40Right, come on.
01:41She ain't doing this for the camera, by the way.
01:45No, I'm not.
01:46I always do this.
01:47She does this.
01:48I hoover outside.
01:49I think I'm onto something because when you mow the lawn, it all blows onto the path.
01:52Look how clean it's starting to look.
01:54And she'll move the ant off the bar while I'm doing that.
01:56No, but I hoovered one up and I opened it and I got him out when he was still alive, thank God.
02:00Missed a bit over here, love.
02:02Yeah.
02:04Neil, or to give him his official title, football hard man Neil Razor-Ruddock,
02:10and his house proud wife Leah, a model and TV personality,
02:14currently live in the Kent town of Ashford.
02:17And while she's all for saving creepy crawlies, they're Neil's Achilles heel.
02:22There's two things I'm really scared of.
02:24Heights.
02:25I don't mind spiders.
02:26And spiders.
02:27There's a spider in the house.
02:28Leah!
02:29Leah!
02:30What about the one in there last week?
02:31The spider wouldn't be, what you looking at?
02:32It was that big.
02:34What's the answer with the straw roof things?
02:36Oh, erm...
02:37Come on.
02:38Fatch houses.
02:39Fatch roof house.
02:40Yeah.
02:41Too many spiders for me.
02:42Oh, but they're lovely.
02:43I know you like them, but spiders.
02:44Well, if we see one that we like, I'm sorry.
02:45Yeah, well, you've got a bit of spider, haven't they?
02:47Yeah, I am anyway.
02:48Alright.
02:49Whether it's thatched or not, they're hoping a new home in the countryside will give them
02:54the five dogs and teen daughters Pebbles and Kizzy as well as the five dogs a quieter way of life.
03:00Good girls.
03:01Well, sort of.
03:02Come on.
03:03Hey!
03:04Hey!
03:05Oh!
03:06We've always lived in a far safe, so it'd be nice to calm down, a nice little village and...
03:10Birds singing.
03:11Birds singing and smell of cow poo.
03:13We like the smell, when we're driving around the country, we like the smell of cow dung.
03:17Yeah.
03:18There's one way to guarantee that.
03:20What animals would you like?
03:22Pigs.
03:23Yeah.
03:24Sheep.
03:25Goats.
03:26They can mow the lawn.
03:27They're crazy.
03:28Then I don't...
03:29Oh!
03:30Yes, we're doing it!
03:32Yes, we're going to do it!
03:33Goats.
03:34You're going to have some goats.
03:35We're going to have some goats.
03:36Donkeys.
03:37Rescue donkeys.
03:38What about a Rudolph?
03:41What's a Rudolph?
03:43A deer.
03:44Rudolph's aren't just for Christmas.
03:47Having styled their current home to within an inch of its wallpaper,
03:52most of Leah's decor will come with them.
03:55My style would be very vibrant.
03:59Very what?
04:00Eclectic.
04:01What's it called?
04:02Eclectic.
04:03Eclectic?
04:04No, not eclectic.
04:05I don't know what it's called.
04:06Eclectic.
04:07Eclectic.
04:08Oh!
04:09Stop it!
04:10What is it again?
04:11Yeah, anyway.
04:12It's very what?
04:13Eclectic.
04:14But Neil does have his own space that he'd like to replicate.
04:19This is my den.
04:20This is my sanctuary.
04:21This is where I come to have peace and quiet from the family.
04:24It's wherever we go.
04:25I need a place like this.
04:27And they're hoping to leave one thing behind.
04:30We've got a ghost in this house.
04:32Or many.
04:33It's built on an Iron Age burial.
04:35Number one non-believer.
04:37Until a wooden thing flew off the wall and hit us.
04:41Yeah, it did.
04:42And I swear someone said hello in my ear.
04:46And there was no one there.
04:48So, we're looking for a ghost-free house that smells of cow poo.
04:53But, in case I missed anything else, here's the rundown.
04:57For their family home in the countryside, Neil and Leah are after a detached four-bedroom property.
05:07He'd like a man-den for his memorabilia and an open-plan kitchen for entertaining.
05:12The garden should be big enough for the five dogs and maybe some extra animals for Leah.
05:18For all this, they are prepared to look at properties up to £850,000.
05:30It looks like I've still got a few things to manage when it comes to Reza and Leah's dream country escape.
05:37But, thankfully, they are on the same team when it comes to Kent being their preferred location.
05:43And, after all, that's fine with me, because this is my home turf.
05:48Reza and Leah want to remain close to friends and family in the Garden of England,
05:54a county which lies on England's south-east coast.
05:57But they're hoping to transfer from the busy town of Ashford and sign for a quiet Kentish village.
06:04The average price of a detached house across Kent is £603,000, well above the national figure of £441,000.
06:14But, as Reza knows, the marquee signings are worth the big bucks.
06:19Running through the heart of the county, from the white cliffs of Dover to the fringe of London,
06:27is the Kent Downs National Landscape, boasting woodland, orchards, ragstone villages, vineyards and more.
06:36It's no wonder it has such a huge fan base of all kinds of species.
06:42I do love coming back to Kent. The scenery is perfection, and the wildlife, something else.
06:52Is that a razor bill I can see?
06:55Hi, Nicky. So lovely to see you.
06:58Lovely to meet you. Oh, there we go.
07:00This is a good sign. Good one, good one.
07:02Are you both excited? So excited.
07:04Because you live in Kent, I'm from Kent.
07:06Are you? Yeah. How about?
07:08North. North Kent. I'm from Herne Bay, by the coast. Very nice.
07:12So, my question to the two of you is, how well do you know the Kent countryside?
07:16Not well. We know...
07:18Leah's from Hastings. I grew up in Ashford, so we know the towns.
07:21We know Maidstone, Canterbury, Tentenden, a big village, which is a town really.
07:26So we don't really know the villages.
07:28Let's show you some beautiful countryside, and then you can decide, can't you?
07:31Yes, we can.
07:32Now, before we start... Yes.
07:33Question, you have a little bit of a reputation as a tough guy.
07:36I think it's quite a big reputation, actually.
07:38I knew I was going to get it wrong.
07:40Slightly nervous to start off with.
07:42Are we going with Neil, Razor, or Mr Ruddock?
07:45Razor's good, Razor's good.
07:47Neil's when I'm in trouble.
07:48If I'm out of line, call me Neil, then I'll jump back into line.
07:51My handbrake's with me.
07:53When the handbrake's with me, I'm behaved.
07:55She's going to be guiding you on these house tours around this countryside.
08:00I'm so looking forward to showing you in this county.
08:02Yeah, I am. So excited.
08:03Shall we get started?
08:04Come on in.
08:05Come on.
08:08We're kicking off our search to the north of the county in the village of Bredger.
08:13It's a peaceful setting complete with a duck pond for animal lover Leah.
08:19And Russia has the agricultural aromas they're both craving.
08:23So here is our first property to show you.
08:32Wow.
08:33Looks lovely.
08:34Doesn't it?
08:35That's look nice.
08:36I absolutely love the sash windows.
08:38That's one of my favourite things.
08:40Is it?
08:41It's pretty, isn't it?
08:43It's so pretty.
08:44With the weatherboarding, do they get dirty?
08:46Are they hard to keep on top of?
08:48No.
08:49Really easy.
08:50It gives it charm and character.
08:51It's very particular around here.
08:52You'll see a lot of weatherboarding.
08:53I see a lot of weatherboarding.
08:54I see you do see a lot when you're driving around Kent.
08:55You do see a lot of these.
08:56Look at this.
08:57It used to be the village shop.
09:01Wow.
09:02That's amazing.
09:03I love it.
09:04That's Razor with the hat on it.
09:05Yeah, there's me.
09:06There's you.
09:07I love that.
09:08You smile a bit more now.
09:09It's a telephone box.
09:10It's a telephone box.
09:11Wow.
09:12I'm guessing it was still a shop in the 70s.
09:14I'm all for character and history and I love all that.
09:18Yeah.
09:19Well, shall we see what you make of the inside?
09:20Yeah, let's go and have a look.
09:21I can't wait.
09:22Come on.
09:23This former village shop opened in 1827 and was extended five years ago.
09:29But we're starting in the original part.
09:34So, step inside.
09:38Wow.
09:39I love it.
09:40You've got everything in here I know you love.
09:43Open planned kitchen.
09:44Yep.
09:45Open fire.
09:46Yep.
09:47Sash windows.
09:48He knows you, Liz, so well.
09:51Tick, tick, tick.
09:52Yeah.
09:53And I love the beams.
09:54Why would you want to sell this house?
09:55It's a beautiful home.
09:56It's beautiful.
09:57And the current owners have done so much work to it.
09:59It's lovely.
10:00It is so lovely.
10:01Well done to you, current owners.
10:03Well done to you.
10:04You've got a lovely house.
10:05Yeah.
10:06I know we've literally just walked through the door, but everything so far, I'm absolutely
10:09loving.
10:10You know what impression I've got?
10:12Go on.
10:13If this was one of my mates' house and I walked in here, I'd be jealous.
10:16That's good.
10:17That's how nice I think this is.
10:18It's beautiful.
10:19I love that line.
10:20I'd be jealous of them.
10:21Yeah.
10:22I love it.
10:23So far, I love it.
10:24And I want my mate to be jealous.
10:25Oh, that's so good.
10:27So much space.
10:28Well, let's continue, shall we, through here.
10:31Is this a kitchen of dreams?
10:32Ooh, it's the same as ours.
10:33Same as ours.
10:34It's definitely a kitchen of dreams.
10:35Yeah, it is.
10:36It's the same colours.
10:37And do you know what I love?
10:38When I go in old hours, I'm going to bang my head, but it's quite high ceilings.
10:41Yeah, because you're tall.
10:42How tall are you?
10:43Six foot three.
10:44Yeah.
10:45Six foot three without your heels on.
10:47Yeah.
10:48Six foot seven, normally.
10:51So lovely.
10:52This is lovely.
10:53And you wanted one of these, didn't you?
10:55I love the island.
10:56We love it.
10:57I love an island.
10:58Can I point out just a little touch in this kitchen?
11:00The rounded edges.
11:01Yes, that's what you've got, yeah.
11:02I really love that.
11:04It's for kids when they come in and don't bang their heads.
11:06Or for you too.
11:07Mmm.
11:08Yeah, they don't bang your whatnot.
11:10Who does the cooking?
11:11Well, when you say that, I'm not allowed to cook because I make too much mess.
11:16I'm the best cook.
11:17Oh, okay.
11:18Modest.
11:19A modest chef.
11:20It's hard to be humble when you're as good as a cook as me.
11:22But he's a messy cook.
11:23No, I'm saying.
11:24I'm a messy cook.
11:25Are you?
11:26I could cook in the old kitchen to let me mess away.
11:27Yeah.
11:28But new kitchen, she gets him.
11:30Yeah.
11:31Am I getting the impression that we've got to have a second kitchen?
11:34Oh, I wish.
11:35Oh, go on.
11:36What's with that being?
11:37Your own kitchen.
11:38Could you imagine?
11:39Not with a den.
11:40Could you imagine his own kitchen?
11:41Not with a den.
11:42Well, let's see.
11:43Oh, no, come on.
11:44We've got options.
11:45You've got a problem.
11:46You've got a problem.
11:47I've got a big problem.
11:48No way.
11:49Come and have a look.
11:50No way.
11:51Off the kitchen is a utility room with a shower that leads to the garage.
11:56Oh, yeah.
11:57Yes.
11:58Big.
11:59You could easily convert this into a sort of semi-outside kitchen if you wanted your own.
12:03Yeah.
12:04But we have to sort out the den, don't we?
12:06If you want to follow me.
12:07Oh.
12:08Oh.
12:09Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
12:11And the winding staircase.
12:13Oh.
12:14Razor's den.
12:15Yeah.
12:16Look at this.
12:17Wow.
12:18This is what it's all about.
12:19Look at that view.
12:20Oh, wow.
12:21Basically, I could have a kitchen dance table, so we'd just board myself there.
12:25And this is your house.
12:26And I'm living here.
12:27Yeah.
12:28Wouldn't you drive me mad?
12:29Yes.
12:30I'm all for that.
12:31I drive you mad right now.
12:32Look.
12:33The bedrooms are all upstairs in the main house.
12:37So this.
12:38Oh, oh, this is nice.
12:40It's the main bedroom.
12:41Look at the views.
12:42I love this.
12:43Nice.
12:44Big enough, isn't it?
12:45Lovely.
12:46Nice and bright.
12:47Oh, not with this.
12:48Oh.
12:49You've got the guest room, which has got the en suite.
12:52I'm not allowed to use it anyway.
12:54Why?
12:55Because it's hers.
12:56Yes, you are.
12:57There you go.
12:58As long as you keep it clean.
12:59You've solved the problem.
13:01I prefer downstairs and upstairs.
13:03The only problem for me is the size of the doors.
13:06Yeah, that would be a problem.
13:07It is.
13:08You've got to be careful.
13:09You've got to be careful.
13:10If you buy this property, your housewarming gift will be plasters.
13:13Yeah.
13:14You'll wake up and it'll be on the floor.
13:16Yeah, it would be.
13:17Yeah.
13:18There are four bedrooms in total.
13:21Pebbles.
13:22En suite.
13:23En suite.
13:24Kisses.
13:25They can share the en suite.
13:26And that's when you come home late.
13:27So that would be yours all the time, probably.
13:29That's it.
13:30Sort it.
13:31But...
13:32Outside, the garden includes two entertaining areas.
13:42And enough room for the dogs to stretch their legs.
13:45All 20 of them.
13:47That's legs, not dogs.
13:49So there's some very pretty landscape gardens.
13:54Lots of mature plants and trees.
13:56Yeah, I love that.
13:57Good size.
13:58I love trees.
13:59It's really pretty.
14:00I love this.
14:01I love the island.
14:02Yeah, I love that.
14:03I think the garden's beautiful.
14:04You can cook there.
14:05There you go.
14:06I can make a mess out of you.
14:07Oh, yes.
14:08You can make all the mess in the world.
14:09The door from the den straight to the barbie.
14:10Yeah.
14:11Straight to the den.
14:12Exactly.
14:13What do we think on the price?
14:15Wow.
14:16700.
14:17What?
14:18Do you?
14:19Go on.
14:20And 50,000.
14:21Wow.
14:22I'm hoping that's 635.
14:23No way.
14:24Kent is quite a spicy county.
14:25Yes.
14:26Exactly.
14:27When it comes to pricing.
14:28Asking price is 800,000 pounds.
14:29I was hoping.
14:30I was hoping.
14:31I was really hoping that it would be no.
14:32Yeah.
14:33That's an interesting reaction.
14:34Yeah.
14:35And that's also an interesting question.
14:36I don't know.
14:37I don't know.
14:38I don't know.
14:39I don't know.
14:40I don't know.
14:41I don't know.
14:42I don't know.
14:43I don't know.
14:44That's an interesting reaction.
14:45Yeah.
14:46And that's also an interesting guesstimate.
14:47Yeah.
14:48Because if you've been looking around.
14:49I'm not sure how much research you've done.
14:51No.
14:52We've only online.
14:53We haven't.
14:54This could be the reality check though.
14:55Yeah.
14:56Because it is a beautiful home.
14:57A rare wide miss from Rosa.
15:00This former village shop has been elegantly renovated and extended.
15:05But while downstairs is a winner with the couple.
15:08They feel the upstairs doorways come up short.
15:11The open plan did it for me.
15:14I love that.
15:15Kitty magnificent.
15:16Yeah.
15:17Like home from home.
15:18Love that.
15:19Room for a den.
15:20Yeah.
15:21You've got your own bit.
15:22Lovely area.
15:23It's like a butterfly garden.
15:24It's beautiful.
15:25Loads of butterflies.
15:26Loads of flowers.
15:27Yes.
15:28We're surrounded by trees which is one of my main things.
15:29I love trees.
15:30Don't I?
15:31So.
15:32But.
15:33Yeah.
15:34Before there was Razor there was Neil.
15:45Born in the South London borough of Wandsworth.
15:48By the age of 14 he was playing for Millwall's youth team.
15:53And went on to run out for Spurs.
15:56Liverpool.
15:57West Ham.
15:58Crystal Palace.
15:59And England's national side.
16:06I've got to ask.
16:07What was it like running onto the pitch at Wembley.
16:10And everybody screaming your name.
16:12It is.
16:13I look at it now and think I used to do that.
16:15But at the time.
16:16I mean I left school.
16:17Become a footballer.
16:18That's all you knew.
16:19So there weren't no nerves.
16:20You know.
16:21You had nervous energy.
16:22You never got nervous.
16:23No.
16:24Because that's what you've done.
16:25That's the only thing I knew.
16:26Was being a footballer running onto a football pitch.
16:27But I go and watch it now and think.
16:29I used to do that.
16:30I can't believe now.
16:31That I never used to get nervous.
16:33And had you not been a footballer.
16:35Yeah.
16:36What do you think you would have ended up doing?
16:37I would have been with my brothers and me.
16:38You know.
16:39Me dad.
16:40They're all shop fitters.
16:41God.
16:42What a different life you would have had.
16:43Yeah.
16:44I wouldn't have met you.
16:45You wouldn't have met me.
16:46I wouldn't have met you.
16:47What a quiet life I would have had.
16:52We're taking the team bus just a short distance.
16:55To the village of Hartlip.
16:57There's been a chapel here for around a thousand years.
17:00And the present church originated in the 13th century.
17:04It's said to have a secret tunnel leading to the pub.
17:08And maybe Neil could add another one to his den.
17:11As the next house is just around the corner.
17:18I'm loving the location.
17:19I like it.
17:20No.
17:21I'm loving the location.
17:22Nothing to do with the pub.
17:24You were looking at the fields and the horses weren't you really?
17:28Yes.
17:29There was nothing to do with the pub.
17:30I like the corner plot.
17:31Yeah.
17:32Like that.
17:33Yes.
17:34You're closer into a semi-rural location.
17:36You've got more of a village community around you with the pub.
17:38Yes.
17:39And there's facilities here as well.
17:41But again, you've only got to look out of your windows.
17:43Yes.
17:44It's beautiful, that view.
17:45And you see the countryside.
17:46Mm.
17:47What about the physical look of the house?
17:48I like it.
17:49It's very nice.
17:50Yeah?
17:51Yeah.
17:52I love the look of the house.
17:53It's big, lovely location.
17:54Can't wait to get inside.
17:55Yeah.
17:56It looks very interesting.
17:57Well, let's take a look, shall we?
17:58Let's go.
17:59This house, along with the rest of the close, was built on farmland 25 years ago.
18:06This is lovely.
18:07Yeah.
18:08So, to our left, we have Raisa's Den.
18:11Can I go in there?
18:12No.
18:13Not yet.
18:14Oh.
18:15More to see here first.
18:16You've got your tall den, didn't I?
18:17Because I want to start in.
18:18Oh, this is cool.
18:19Oh, that's not called den.
18:20Oh, Ireland again.
18:21Look at the sparkly tops.
18:22We've got that.
18:23This is nice, isn't it?
18:25Look at this.
18:26I like the fruit.
18:27This is very me.
18:28All this.
18:29How nice is that?
18:30Wow.
18:31Is that a bar?
18:32That's unbelievable.
18:33That's all the seating.
18:34You've got a problem.
18:35No, but look, you've got a problem.
18:37This.
18:38I can see myself here.
18:39Look at the seating area.
18:40All the people that you have over.
18:42Look at this.
18:43Wow.
18:44Can we go out?
18:45Can we go out?
18:46Can we go out?
18:47Can we go out?
18:48Can we go out?
18:49Do you want to see the rest of the house first?
18:50Can we go out first?
18:51Can we go out first?
18:52No, you're the boss.
18:53I've told you off once about not going to your den.
18:55Sorry, miss.
18:56Let's start here.
18:57I can see that.
18:58I can't see that up there.
18:59The funny thing is, when I told him no, you've got to come in here, he quite liked it.
19:02He likes it.
19:03He does like it.
19:04I've liked you for a long time.
19:05You don't understand.
19:06Stop.
19:07No.
19:08No.
19:09You can tell me off any time.
19:10No.
19:11No.
19:12I can see I need to start calling him Neil, but that might be worse.
19:16So, let's just move on.
19:18This is for Lea.
19:19Because this house move is about the two of you.
19:21That's lovely.
19:22Wow.
19:23Sold.
19:24Look at this.
19:25Look at it.
19:26I mean...
19:27Don't interview.
19:28Don't interview.
19:29Come here, look.
19:30What?
19:31The pub.
19:32Yeah, you're in your element, aren't you?
19:36At least you know where I am.
19:37You've got that view.
19:38I'm happy with that.
19:39Exactly.
19:40That is stunning.
19:41You'll be so happy.
19:42I'll be cleaning the house here and doing the garden.
19:45You'll be...
19:46Yeah, I'll be home in a minute, darling.
19:47I can see it now.
19:48Going to dogs for a walk.
19:49To the pub.
19:50I've seen the pub.
19:51They let dogs in that pub as well.
19:52So, that's great.
19:53You'll be having your breakfast in there.
19:54Oh, Dean, I love you.
19:55You prepare my breakfast, don't you?
19:56Yeah, beautiful.
19:57Do you think I should let you two go and explore?
19:59Shall we?
20:00I might even let you go and look at the den.
20:02The Raisa Den.
20:03Can I go now?
20:04Oh, we've got a room.
20:05Go on, keep an eye on it.
20:06You're in trouble.
20:07You're in trouble, Rais.
20:08Don't you just love the enthusiasm?
20:10At the front is a room that could be the den.
20:13Oh!
20:14Oh, look at this.
20:16Or they could use it however they like.
20:18Oh, my God!
20:22Look at this.
20:25Excuse me.
20:26No, this is the den.
20:27This is the den.
20:28Your room's that end.
20:29Excuse me.
20:30You're in the east wing.
20:31This is the west wing.
20:32This is the best sofa I've ever seen in my life.
20:33I like this.
20:34Oh, so do I.
20:35This is...
20:36We're not going to get better than this.
20:37This is 10 out of 10 for me.
20:39Even the radios.
20:40Love the radios.
20:41Yeah, I love it.
20:42I love the black...
20:43This bit.
20:44What's it called?
20:45I don't know, but that's good.
20:46Can we move in today?
20:47No.
20:48Please.
20:49I've got another two houses.
20:50I don't know.
20:51Cut.
20:52It's a wrap.
20:53Finished.
20:54Oh!
20:55Look how nice it is!
20:56Well, they seem satisfied.
20:58Upstairs, there are five bedrooms.
21:01Oh!
21:02One, two, three.
21:04One, two, three.
21:05Oh, this is amazing.
21:07Oh!
21:08I love this.
21:09Look at this.
21:10Look at this.
21:11Look at that view again.
21:12Oh, it's so...
21:13Wow.
21:14It's how I would have it, isn't it?
21:15Oh!
21:16Oh!
21:17We need to go and have a chat, Mr Ruddock.
21:18Look at that view again.
21:19Every room I've been into have my favourite view.
21:21This is all your...
21:22Why don't you just go and move into the pub?
21:23LAUGHTER
21:25This would be...
21:27This would be Pebbles' room.
21:29This is the kids' part of the house.
21:30So the kids' up this end.
21:31We're up that end, so they've got...
21:32Kids' part of the house.
21:33Bedroom either side and sort it.
21:35Yeah.
21:36And a shower and a bath.
21:37Is this working for you, Lou?
21:38Lovely.
21:39Out in the garden, there's a hot tub,
21:42plus a barbecue and bar terrace for entertaining guests.
21:46Speaking of which...
21:48We know that Reza is extremely competitive.
21:51Leah is a domestic goddess.
21:53So I'm going to set them a little task,
21:55a little game, to see who's going to come out on top.
21:59With party guests potentially arriving any moment,
22:02there's laundry to put away, pillows to go in cases,
22:06crumbs to vacuum and nibbles to prepare against the clock.
22:12Leah's up first.
22:15WHISTLE BLOWS
22:16WHISTLE BLOWS
22:18Oh!
22:19Quick, quick, quick, quick.
22:20She's gone that route.
22:21Yeah.
22:22Shh, shh, shh, shh.
22:23Oh, that's not very neat.
22:24She's not pretty good at that, is she?
22:25Oh.
22:26See, you can't sabotage this.
22:27She goes, like, onto the cushions.
22:29It covers on the cushions.
22:30Can't get it in.
22:31Can't get it in.
22:32It's not going in.
22:33Professional pillar fluffer.
22:34One more to do.
22:35It's not going in.
22:36To be fair, me and you chappers, we could get,
22:38we could get code commentary.
22:40Do you reckon?
22:41Fluffing pillars.
22:44That's...
22:45Oh, that technique.
22:46Now that's very good.
22:47Oh, what a blockage.
22:48Come on, you're doing well, you're doing well.
22:50I've got it all up.
22:51Snacks!
22:52Look, look, look.
22:53Quick.
22:54Like a seriously blonde hair.
22:56Bouncing.
22:57Oh, look at this.
22:58Look, very good.
22:59The hostess with the motion.
23:01Not allowed to drop any.
23:02What do we call the little cones?
23:03Don't say little cones.
23:04Little cones.
23:05They match your...
23:06Oh, very nice.
23:07On seven, on seven.
23:08Yay!
23:09And I'm finished.
23:102-11.
23:11Rubbish.
23:12Is that rubbish?
23:13That was really...
23:14Is that rubbish?
23:15No.
23:16Okay, Mr. Smart Man.
23:18Go on, then.
23:19Now time to see how sharp razor is.
23:22See what I've done there?
23:24Shhh!
23:25Oh, what's that?
23:26Oh, no!
23:27It's starting to rain!
23:28Oh, no!
23:29Oh, no!
23:30Oh, no, look!
23:31It's starting to rain!
23:32Oh, no!
23:33Oh, no, look!
23:34It's starting to rain!
23:35It's raining!
23:36Oh, my God!
23:37Oh, my God!
23:38The cushions!
23:39The cushions!
23:40The cushions!
23:41I want proper fuffing.
23:42Fluffy.
23:43How'd you get that in there, then?
23:44You're looking a little bit like Father Christmas.
23:45I just want to beat him.
23:46That's all I want.
23:47Right, we need the crumbs.
23:48Oh!
23:49Ow!
23:50Oh, no!
23:51We've over...
23:52Oh!
23:53Sorry!
23:54Sorry about that.
23:55Must be the lavender.
23:56Come on, we want a clean game here.
23:58They weren't that high last time!
23:59It's still going.
24:00Get them all!
24:01Get them all!
24:02Get all of them!
24:03All of them!
24:04You get to arriving!
24:05All of them!
24:06You get to arriving!
24:07You get to arriving!
24:08All of them!
24:09You get to arriving!
24:10You get to arriving!
24:11All of them!
24:12All of them!
24:13You get to arriving!
24:14Come on!
24:15Quick!
24:16On the edge!
24:17On the edge!
24:18On the edge!
24:19You haven't turned off the hoover!
24:20Oh, it's great!
24:21Quick, quick, quick, quick, quick!
24:24Quick, turn off the hoover!
24:261.53.
24:27Did I bring him?
24:28No.
24:29Thank you very much.
24:30How?
24:31That's what happens when you mess with professional athletes!
24:34So, a win for Razor, but more importantly, who will get closest to the price of this five-bedroom
24:41home?
24:43I think this is £975.
24:44You won't get a lot under a million pounds.
24:46I'm going to say £925.
24:49Quick, because I'm scared.
24:50Okay.
24:51The asking price is £850,000.
24:54Is it?
24:55Wow.
24:56Is it?
24:57Yeah.
24:58Community on your doorstep.
24:59How could you see us living here, to be honest?
25:00I'd love to.
25:01I've only mentioned the pub once.
25:02You might have mentioned it a few more times.
25:04Yeah, how many times?
25:05Is it a pub here?
25:06How do you know?
25:07You've got a lovely view.
25:09Both guesses well out, but in the best way.
25:13With a den, outside bar, and a pub across the road, this house was always going to be
25:18a hit.
25:19But the stylish kitchen, light sitting room, and five bedrooms got it over the line.
25:24I can just imagine sitting out here in the rain, having a cup of coffee with the kids, playing
25:30cards.
25:31Where am I?
25:32You're over the road, of course.
25:33In the pub?
25:34Yeah, you can go there as long as much as you want.
25:36Excuse me?
25:37Yeah, you can.
25:38Did you do anything about everybody?
25:39Yeah, you can go there.
25:40You can have your dinner every day.
25:41Sold.
25:42Sold.
25:43Because, literally, all you have to do is go, raise!
25:45Shuffords, don't have to go out tomorrow.
25:47We've sold it.
25:48We're here.
25:59They say football is a game of two halves, but for Reza, perhaps his life has been in thirds.
26:05There was the football hard man chapter, followed by the party animal chapter, and now he's
26:12entering a new, gentler chapter with Leah and his daughters.
26:21We've had a brilliant day today, haven't we?
26:23We have, yeah.
26:24Enjoyed it.
26:25Really, really enjoyable.
26:26But just for a moment, I want to take us away from property, really, and talk about you,
26:30because you've had an incredible, what, the last five, six years?
26:33Yeah.
26:34Well, I mean, it was a great, I had a great career.
26:36Um, you know, and I think about football, I mean, you're in the public eye, you know,
26:41for nearly 20 odd years, and all of a sudden it stops, and I don't think anyone's, or I
26:46wasn't especially, anyone's prepared, and I don't think football clubs prepare or give
26:49you education how to live your life after that.
26:52A month into retirement, I just didn't know what to do, you know, you, I didn't prepare
26:56myself.
26:57So, you know, I used to, in the end I knew what pub would be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
27:00Thursday, Friday, so I knew what pub, well, the most people would be, most lads were in
27:05there, and I used to, that was, that was my sort of, the snowball effect of, of drinking,
27:12is just wanting to be surrounded by lads.
27:13At what point do you think, I'm going to have to put a stop to this?
27:16You know, I couldn't walk 100 yards without feeling faint.
27:19You know, I'd, I'd gone to 28 odd stone, I went to see a specialist and he told me,
27:23you know, raise you two months, you could be gone mate, and so, you know, I got rushed
27:28into hospital and in the end that stopped my heart, to basically kill me, restart my heart,
27:34so to get it, you know, regulated to normal, normal beats all 60 to 70, then I had to have
27:40a pacemaker fitted, I'd given up, you know, I couldn't be bothered, you know, I didn't
27:44have bad things in the end of my life, it was in my head as if, if I die, I'd die, you
27:49know, that's how tired and fed up, you know, you've heard the saying, sick and tired of
27:52being sick and tired, I was sick and tired of being sick and tired, but, you know, I
27:56always had mad, bad, sad, glad disease, when I was mad, bad, sad and glad, any excuse to
28:00have a drink, you know, I'd have a drink.
28:03I had a great time, I'm not one of them say don't do what I've done, when I play, I had a
28:07great time, I've seen everything, travelled the world, I've had the greatest time you
28:10could ever do, but, as I say, I just, I just took it too far and I just didn't, I wanted
28:15to be a footballer all my life and when that's taken away from the, the something you love,
28:18you can't do anymore, you know, I just, I just couldn't, er, couldn't control myself.
28:23My wife Natalie, I, you know, I live, I live for her now, I live to make her happy and I
28:27live for the family, that's how I've changed my life. For your girls as well. For the
28:30girls and, you know, I still love my mates, you know, I still go out and go crazy once a month
28:35instead of every day. Yeah. Well, the good thing is you realise you needed to make those
28:39changes with enough time to make them and also enjoy this whole new phase in your life.
28:43That's it. Well, I'm glad we can be a small part of this new lifestyle for not just you
28:48but Leah and the girls as well. That's been great. Really looking forward to tomorrow.
28:52Yeah. Got a lot to think about, haven't you? You've got a lot to beat.
28:55Yeah, I have. And I've got a lot to learn about prices of houses.
28:58Yes, you have, sir. Yes, you have. Ask me how much a pint of beer is five years ago,
29:05I told you every, how much every one I've done that. But it's nice, nice meeting you.
29:10And you. Thanks, I'm wearing a frock, not your, not your night either.
29:13Leah, come and get him wherever you are.
29:32Across Kent, there are over 700,000 dwellings, including some absolute treasures,
29:38like this 16th-century timber-framed home full of period feature favourites
29:43and located in a Kent village. The two bedrooms include one with an en-suite,
29:48roll-top bath and a shower, and it's on the market for offers in excess of £475,000.
29:57Or if you have the budget of a top-flight footballer, then for £2.5 million,
30:02this five-bedroom host house comes with a two-bed annex in a stunning rural location.
30:09It's ideal for those who love nature or the water,
30:12as it includes a crocodile-infested heated swimming pool
30:16and a private five-acre lake, not heated.
30:21With a smaller pool, shorter stays and a smaller price tag,
30:25this self-contained holiday-led has everything you need
30:28for a relaxing getaway in the North Downs
30:32and is available from £200 a night.
30:36Right, I know we ended yesterday with Reza and Leah thinking
30:39that a modern new build in the country was the best fit for them,
30:44but, I mean, come on, this is escape to the country.
30:48So today, I'm going to show them that character comes in all shapes and sizes.
30:53We're getting the second half underway in the south-east of the county,
30:59destined for the village of Brinchley.
31:02Throughout the village, the buildings feature a variety of styles,
31:05such as weatherboard houses, tile-hung homes,
31:09black-and-white timber-framed properties, as well as oast houses,
31:13and we're here to see a particularly pretty one.
31:16But Leah's attention has been caught by the horses in the barn next door.
31:20Rodney, come here, come and show us your top knot.
31:24We've got the same hairdo and everything.
31:25Same hairdressers.
31:26I know!
31:27Same extensions.
31:29I know Leah's got better nails, though.
31:32Reza, you've found a new friend.
31:34I have.
31:35Well, just a little sweetener for you.
31:36If you buy the next property...
31:39Yes.
31:40..you could have your own pony, your own horse,
31:43and you could stable it here.
31:44The owners have said that.
31:46Did you hear that?
31:48I've got a bit of a confession to make.
31:51Go on.
31:52Leah thinks it runs at Cheltenham every year, but it don't.
31:55What?
31:57What are you on about?
31:58What?
31:59So that you can go.
32:00So you say your racehorse is running.
32:01Telling hawkies!
32:02Yeah!
32:04Right, that's it.
32:05That's it.
32:06There's going to be problems.
32:08I need you two together because you've got to buy a house.
32:12I mean, this for you is the dream, isn't it?
32:15This is just...
32:16When I walked in here and I saw the horses, the hay, just everything,
32:20the feeling just come over me.
32:22I just felt at home.
32:23Yeah.
32:25See, look.
32:26I can't get too close because you might think I'm a giant carrot.
32:29LAUGHTER
32:33Well, I'm going to have to drag you away.
32:34He's not going to be your next racehorse,
32:36but he could be your next neighbour.
32:37How does that sound amazing?
32:38Oh, that's beautiful.
32:39Ready to take a look around the next property, please?
32:41Yes.
32:43Oh, wow.
32:45Part of that barn comes with the property,
32:48which is a Grade II listed 19th century oast house,
32:52renovated in 2010.
32:55So, yesterday, we finished, I think, on a high
32:57with new and contemporary living.
32:59Today, we've got something which is quintessentially very Kent.
33:03That's amazing.
33:04Your own oast house.
33:05It's lovely.
33:06Yeah?
33:07So nice.
33:08It's very handsome, isn't it?
33:09It's very nice.
33:10You like bricks, don't you?
33:11Yeah.
33:12I just...
33:13I love the dark...
33:14I just...
33:15Yeah, I love the dark windows.
33:16And look at that.
33:17I love the little touch at the top.
33:18Can you see the dogs on one side?
33:19Oh!
33:20Horses on the other cow.
33:21Oh, I love it.
33:22It's a sign.
33:23It's a sign.
33:24There's so many signs to be signed and looked at.
33:26It has solar panels.
33:27Oh.
33:28It's got air source heat pump, underfloor heating.
33:31Oh, we like that.
33:32If you want to charge your electric car, it's got a point here.
33:35All these things incorporated.
33:37So it shows, when you've got a Grade 2 listed house, you've got to be careful, you've got
33:41to make sure everything's approved, but you can still be quite eco as well at the same
33:44time.
33:45We had a...
33:46We rented a house house when we first met.
33:47Did you?
33:48Yes.
33:49That's where my waters broke.
33:50That's where...
33:51Do you remember?
33:52Is it all coming flooding back now?
33:54I love that one.
33:55I didn't even know I'd say that.
33:58I was going to claim it.
33:59That's so funny.
34:00Chappas is going to claim it.
34:03Beautiful.
34:04Yesterday was the first half.
34:05You've done very, very well.
34:06Can I say, the second half has started and I'm telling you, you've impressed me.
34:09No substitutions yet?
34:10No substitutions yet.
34:11You're very good.
34:12Right.
34:13Shall we start?
34:14Please.
34:15Den or house?
34:16Please say house.
34:17What?
34:18Oh, he's going to say den.
34:19Den?
34:20No, I wanted the house.
34:21No, I'm den.
34:22House!
34:23Come on.
34:24Please be about me today.
34:25Oh, come on then.
34:26A den it is.
34:27Yes.
34:29Hopefully no one's waters are going to break, although it wouldn't matter on this floor.
34:34This is your domain.
34:37Does this part that comes with the house?
34:38Yeah.
34:39Oh, wow.
34:40It comes with the house.
34:41Look what's behind this door.
34:42What's in there?
34:43You're going to love it.
34:44Oh!
34:45Oh!
34:46My!
34:47Oh!
34:48And it's soundproof.
34:51Pardon?
34:52Yes.
34:53So I'll be able to hear you.
34:54Oh!
34:55Yes.
34:56I think you two should have a podcast together.
34:59Yeah?
35:00Yeah.
35:01In here.
35:02You've got a new book coming out.
35:03You can do the audio in here.
35:04Have you done the audio?
35:05You've got a book coming out, yeah.
35:06Because I've heard a chap as your books, one of them books, and once you put it down, you
35:09can't bring yourself to pick it up again.
35:11Seriously, you can't go and see it.
35:14Seriously, if you can't go and sleep, just start reading Chapman's book, you'll be off
35:17in five minutes.
35:19Not as good as my book.
35:21Oh, God.
35:22Anyway, where were we?
35:23With the den taken care of, let's move on to the main event.
35:27Welcome to country living.
35:34Wow.
35:35Wow.
35:36Wow.
35:37Wow.
35:38That's three.
35:40Wow, wow, wow.
35:42No, but seriously.
35:43Wow.
35:44Seven.
35:45Wow.
35:46Wow.
35:47Nine.
35:48Hundred wow.
35:49Do you think you like it?
35:50Do you think you like it?
35:51Do you want to remind me of?
35:52Darling Buds of May.
35:53Yeah.
35:54I was filming around here somewhere else.
35:55Yeah.
35:56Wow, look at this.
35:57This is country living, innit?
35:58Isn't it beautiful?
35:59Oh, stunning.
36:00The old host house you stayed in.
36:01The old house that's gone.
36:02It was nothing like this.
36:03Would you be willing to get the spiders out of all the quizzes?
36:05There ain't no spiders in this one.
36:06No, but if there was, you would, wouldn't you?
36:08No, I would let you do that.
36:09Okay.
36:10Yeah.
36:11Oh, I love it so much.
36:12When you're driving around the countryside, you do see host houses dotted around.
36:14Yeah.
36:15And you always look at them.
36:16You always say, look at that ghost house.
36:17We'd love to live in a place like that.
36:19Oh.
36:20It's another TV show, innit?
36:21Who's that?
36:22Who's that?
36:23I shouldn't think many had turned to this high spec.
36:26Yeah.
36:27Very nice.
36:28Do you want to see a little bit more?
36:29Oh, please, please, please.
36:30Look at the log burner.
36:31Oh, I'd like to see something nestled between the two rounds.
36:34It looks lovely.
36:35Go on, babe.
36:36Yeah.
36:37Yeah.
36:38Bringing it back to the kitchen.
36:40Big enough.
36:41I love the cooker, because when you're cooking away, you can still have a chat.
36:45That's when you're going to be cooking.
36:46And have a laugh.
36:47When you're entertaining people as well, that's nice of it.
36:49Yeah, really.
36:50You're still involved, everyone's here having a drink and that, and you're...
36:52I love the open plan.
36:53And I'm chefing.
36:54I love it, because it's open plan again.
36:55Yeah.
36:56And you can make this downstairs really work for you.
36:59Two reception rooms.
37:00You've got a dining table behind you.
37:02What would the girls think here?
37:03Oh, wow.
37:04I love it.
37:05Would they be taking...
37:06Say it well.
37:07That was number 11 or 12 well?
37:08I just love it.
37:09Yeah.
37:10I didn't think you would beat yesterday's, but...
37:12I've already forgotten about yesterday.
37:14What was yesterday?
37:15Yesterday's gone.
37:16Yesterday's gone.
37:17Yesterday's gone?
37:18Wow.
37:19Yesterday's gone.
37:20This is...
37:21This is...
37:22For me, this is country.
37:23This is country.
37:24This is escape to the country.
37:25This is a proper escape here.
37:26This is escape to the country.
37:27And I want to escape to the country right now.
37:29Fabulous.
37:30Would you like to...
37:31I don't know if I want to say this, escape upstairs?
37:33Yeah!
37:34Let's go!
37:35I was going to say together, but I'm a little bit worried now.
37:38Twice in two days?
37:39You're going to laugh, ain't you?
37:41Have an innocent wonder upstairs, the two of you.
37:46Shall we?
37:47Yeah.
37:50Upstairs, there's a family bathroom, plus two rectangular bedrooms,
37:54alongside two circular ones.
37:57Oh, I love wood!
38:02Oh!
38:03Look at it!
38:04This is lovely, isn't it?
38:05Wow!
38:06Oh!
38:07Wow!
38:09Whose room's this one?
38:10Mine.
38:11I want all of them.
38:13Oh!
38:14Look, I love the windows!
38:16The size of...
38:19Oh, I've got to get my breath back.
38:20Look, look, look.
38:21Standing towards the can.
38:22Oh, so nice.
38:24The height.
38:25Quick, next room, next room, next room.
38:27Wow!
38:28Round room.
38:29It's amazing, isn't it?
38:30This is my favourite house we've been to.
38:31Can you hear the acoustics and all that, innit?
38:33Oh!
38:37Not as good as the fault.
38:38How are we going?
38:39How are we going?
38:42It's clear they're already feeling at home.
38:47Razor?
38:48Yes, sweetheart?
38:49Can you get me a coffee?
38:50I'm doing the invoices.
38:51I'm busy in my office.
38:52Two minutes, sweetheart.
38:53Love you.
38:54Hurry!
38:55The garden covers almost half an acre and includes entertaining space as well as the use of part of the barn, giving plenty of scope for Leah's menagerie aspirations.
39:05So you've seen the house.
39:08What's the price?
39:11I'm going to say 950,000.
39:14Wow.
39:15Razor?
39:17845.
39:18No.
39:19845.
39:20All my chips are going in.
39:21845.
39:22No, I'm not.
39:23The asking price is 850,000 pounds.
39:26No.
39:27After failing so badly at the beginning, he's pulled it back.
39:30What?
39:31Told you.
39:32I'm a second half player.
39:33Always very well second half.
39:34That's been a great host.
39:35Time to say goodbye.
39:36Bye, house.
39:37See you soon.
39:38Bye.
39:39This 19th century host house offers four bedrooms, but it's the knockout features like the open plan living space, the soundproof den and the potential for horses or other animals that I think make this a front runner.
39:59It's beautiful.
40:00This is a dream home, isn't it?
40:01Yeah, it is.
40:02It is.
40:03It's just stunning.
40:04This is escape to the country.
40:05Animals.
40:06Animals on your doorstep.
40:07Yep.
40:08Loads of surrounded by beautiful greenery and trees.
40:11This is the best house ever.
40:13By far.
40:27One of the things Leah wants most from this move is the opportunity to have more animals.
40:33But first, she'll need to win round Razor.
40:35The whole idea is we bring Razor here.
40:38Yep.
40:39He loses his heart to all these amazing animals.
40:42And then you can get more animals in your new home.
40:45And the range of cuties here at Huckleberry Woods in Faversham is bound to persuade him.
40:51No, I love animals, but I think they're messy, they stink, and they're hard to look after.
40:56Sounds like some of my friends.
40:58That'd be married to me, I suppose.
40:59That's like you.
41:00It's important to wear the right attire on the farm.
41:07But someone's rocking big eyelashes and leopard print.
41:11Oh my gosh, look at his hat.
41:15I think the best place to soften that hard man exterior might be with the Southtown baby doll sheep.
41:22Also known as teddy bear sheep.
41:25Come on then.
41:27How good are they?
41:28Good boys.
41:29That's in our reward though.
41:30Oh look, I really love it.
41:32Give him some.
41:33Give him some.
41:34Oh look, they're so sweet.
41:35Yeah mate.
41:36No they are so.
41:37I can't help it.
41:38Hold the bucket.
41:39Razor have some of these.
41:40Hold the bucket.
41:41Look, look, look.
41:43Look, look at you.
41:44Wow.
41:45You know what you're doing?
41:46We're already seeing the soft side.
41:48He's a natural.
41:49Look.
41:50I love this.
41:52I thought, yeah.
41:53I'd rather these than mad dogs actually.
41:56But look at them.
41:57When we caught you off guard, you were in the zone.
41:59I was there.
42:00You were there.
42:01You could call the mountain deck.
42:02Yeah.
42:03I love animals.
42:04It's just, I think they'd be hard work.
42:06But these are not hard work.
42:07I could say the same about you.
42:08Yes, exactly.
42:09I can just see this in the morning, you feeding them, you'd love it.
42:12I wouldn't mind these, actually.
42:14You love them, don't you?
42:15I do love them.
42:16No, he loves it.
42:17But they're so gentle.
42:18You're feeding too.
42:19You're getting excited.
42:20They're mine now.
42:21Get out of the way.
42:22They're mine.
42:23Here, mush.
42:24Come here, son.
42:25They're mine now.
42:26Here, mush.
42:27Here, mush, mush.
42:28Scientists say working with nature can make people less stressed.
42:31So we've arranged a little job for Razor.
42:35Oh, bleh.
42:37I can sense the tension easing away.
42:48Even a turkey's laughing at me.
42:50While Razor gets his chill on, Nia's calming herself in the pig parlour.
42:56Oh, look.
42:57Minnie's loving this.
42:59Oh, look at their little spiky hair.
43:01It's like Razor's beard.
43:03Wow.
43:04Hello, Minnie.
43:05We're going to have to get pigs as well.
43:07Pigs are highly intelligent and can be trained like dogs.
43:11And then you say, Minnie, sit.
43:13No way.
43:14Minnie, sit.
43:15You haven't got a pig that sits.
43:16And then jump.
43:17No way.
43:18And then spin.
43:19And then just...
43:20No, I can't believe it.
43:21Oh, my God.
43:22No, no, no.
43:24And if you think that's impressive, I give you Ludwig van Beethoven.
43:30You ready?
43:31Play the piano.
43:32Oh, wow.
43:33Play the piano.
43:34Oh, the piano.
43:36Good boy, Annigan.
43:38Good boy, Bandit.
43:39Play the piano.
43:41Wow.
43:42Wow.
43:43Amazing.
43:44It's obviously a twinkle, twinkle little star.
43:45It is a twinkle, twinkle little star.
43:46The people that can't hear that are mad because I can hear it.
43:49Good boy, Annigan.
43:50I've sat through worse auditions.
43:53As for the donkeys, they're known for being stubborn, but they do it with a smile.
43:58Show us your teeth.
44:00Yeah.
44:01No way.
44:02No way.
44:03Show us your gnashers, Duke.
44:05Show us your gnashers.
44:06Go on.
44:07Yeah.
44:08Good.
44:09I love it.
44:12And from gnashers to rashers.
44:16Sorry, Rodney.
44:17Hold up.
44:18Come here, Rodney.
44:19This way, mate.
44:20Come on.
44:21Whoa.
44:22That's a pig.
44:23Pinion.
44:24Thing is, it's not a good look.
44:25I'm meant to be the hard man of football.
44:27What are people going to say about me if I walk down the street with a miniature pig?
44:30Listen.
44:31Rodney, come on, mate.
44:32You look great.
44:33Do you think so?
44:34Yeah.
44:35Fashion statement.
44:36It's just what he likes to hear.
44:37This is what life's going to be.
44:39We're going to be going walkie-palkie pigs.
44:42This looks like it's been a huge success.
44:44I love it.
44:45I'm really enjoying myself.
44:46I knew you'd lose your heart coming here, but the fact that Razor is in his element.
44:50Yeah.
44:51Yeah.
44:52This is a whole new lifestyle for the two of you.
44:53I do love it.
44:54No, I do really enjoy myself.
44:55Do you?
44:56Yeah.
44:57I do love it.
44:58Is this going to be the future?
44:59I've got to walk a pig again.
45:00I do like pigs.
45:02I think the pig's walking you.
45:03I saw you secretly smiling to yourself with the pig just a minute ago.
45:07We've got there, haven't we?
45:08Yeah.
45:09Did you get it on camera?
45:10Oh, we've definitely seen it on camera.
45:11It's too late.
45:12No, I'm really enjoying this.
45:13It's been a good day.
45:14It's been great.
45:15It's so lovely here.
45:16I'm definitely noticing a new side to Razor.
45:20I just hope it hasn't gone too far.
45:33My new friend.
45:43As we head towards the final whistle, we're bringing our star player off the bench
45:48in the county's northern village of Doddington.
45:51There's a 14th century pub that offers food and live music,
45:55and less than a mile from it, in a conservation area, is our last property.
46:04It's mystery house time, and this one, well, it's not a plum,
46:09but it certainly is a peach.
46:11Take a look for yourself.
46:13Razor associates Thatch's ruse with his biggest fear, spiders.
46:20But we're hoping that with Lear to hold his hand,
46:23he'll be able to appreciate this Grade II listed 15th century cottage,
46:28constructed with a mix of oak frame, wattle and daub and brick.
46:34Although that light might freak him out,
46:36so no-one mention our eight-legged friends.
46:42Ooh.
46:43Oh!
46:45Spiders.
46:46My goodness.
46:47That was quick.
46:48Wow.
46:49That is so sweet.
46:51That's a thatch roof, isn't it?
46:52That is beautiful, actually.
46:53That is a thatch roof.
46:54That is a picture.
46:55Isn't it amazing?
46:56That is so pretty.
46:57That's beautiful, isn't it?
46:58How old do you think this property is?
47:0015-something.
47:01It might be 14.
47:02What's the sumick?
47:03No.
47:041565.
47:051585.
47:10Wrong.
47:11Oh.
47:12Not 14.
47:13No way.
47:14I was going to say that!
47:15Yes.
47:16It predates the Tudor period.
47:181480.
47:19Oh!
47:20I should have gone with my gut!
47:22The majority of that house.
47:24Oh, what?
47:25The modern extension was in the Victorian era.
47:28No way!
47:29Oh, wow.
47:30How clever were they back then?
47:31Very.
47:32That's unbelievable, isn't it, really?
47:33Because it's still stunning.
47:34You think, what's that scene in its lifetime?
47:36It's amazing.
47:37It's beautiful.
47:38It looks absolutely stunning.
47:39It is beautiful.
47:40Intrigued to look around?
47:41I'd love to.
47:42I can't wait, Nicky.
47:43Excellent.
47:44Come on.
47:45Let's go.
47:46Over 500 years ago, as the Wars of the Roses period was concluding, the builders of this
47:52picture-perfect cottage could frankly never have imagined that one day I'd be showing
47:57Razor and Leah around for the nation's entertainment.
48:01They'd have found it as unbelievable as a pig playing the piano.
48:05That's stepping back in time.
48:12Oh, wow.
48:13Wow.
48:14Look at this.
48:15This is amazing.
48:16It's not your average hallway, is it?
48:18It's really...
48:19Look at this.
48:20Is this all original?
48:21Yep.
48:22I love this.
48:23Outside tiles, because the animals would have been through here.
48:25Yeah.
48:26Wow.
48:27Ready to see more?
48:28Yeah.
48:29Okay.
48:30Oh, wow.
48:31Look at this.
48:32I love that.
48:33Is that a fireplace?
48:34It is.
48:35Oh, wow.
48:36There you go.
48:37We spotted it straight away.
48:38There you go.
48:39Oh, look!
48:40There you go.
48:41I'm sorry.
48:42I'll stand his hand.
48:43I am.
48:44I can't help it.
48:45I know you're laughing at me, but I can't help it.
48:46I am giggling, because look at this house.
48:47Even though it is centuries and centuries old, it's so beautifully done.
48:50We've got to look at this house.
48:51It's beautiful.
48:52It's beautiful.
48:53It's beautiful.
48:54It's beautiful.
48:55It's beautiful.
48:56It's beautiful.
48:57It's beautiful.
48:58It's beautiful.
48:59It's beautifully done.
49:00We're going to call this...
49:01...Raisers' Den.
49:02Is this the den?
49:03This is the den.
49:04Stop it!
49:05Oh, I lie!
49:06No way!
49:07I thought this was the main area.
49:08This would be the poshest den.
49:10No way!
49:11The oldest poshest den.
49:13Stop it!
49:14This is your den.
49:15The old den.
49:16I can't wait to see my room.
49:17That's normally my title, oldest poshest, but I'll let the den have it.
49:20The old den.
49:21The old den, yeah.
49:22I thought I'd say it before he did.
49:23The old den, yeah.
49:24Do you like it?
49:25I like it now.
49:26This is your den?
49:27Yeah.
49:28That's lovely.
49:29That's lovely.
49:30That's lovely.
49:31That's lovely.
49:32That's lovely.
49:33That's lovely.
49:34That's lovely.
49:35That's lovely.
49:36That's lovely.
49:37That's lovely.
49:38That's lovely.
49:39That's lovely.
49:40That's lovely.
49:41That's lovely.
49:42That's a goal.
49:43We can play football in there.
49:44That's like a queen in her palace.
49:45Love it.
49:46Love it.
49:47Look at all the brickwork and the stonework.
49:49I love this.
49:50It's a nice big old room, innit?
49:51Can you imagine Christmas in here, with the twinkly lights, table set.
49:52Christmas tree.
49:53Christmas tree.
49:54Fabulous.
49:55Christmas tree.
49:56So I've got it all in my head.
49:57What do you think?
49:58You're slightly quieter for you.
49:59It's the doors again for me, innit?
50:00Yeah.
50:01He's only putting a downer on it because he's worried about the spiders.
50:02And the spiders.
50:03Oh.
50:04I have to say that it is grade two listed.
50:05Is it?
50:06Yes.
50:07I mean, all this work has been done already, so you don't really need to do anything.
50:08No.
50:09But when it comes to altering doorways and things like that, you would need to consult the profession.
50:23Permission in there, okay.
50:24Exactly.
50:25Can you not just do this?
50:26No.
50:27Exactly.
50:28No.
50:29Ganging up on me now.
50:30I'll put a sign.
50:31Duck.
50:32And then you will.
50:33We'll put a little padding up there for you, so.
50:35Yeah.
50:36One problem solved.
50:38And we've also come up with a solution for Razor being too messy for Leah's kitchen.
50:43There's two kitchens.
50:45Go on.
50:46Nikki.
50:47There's two kitchens.
50:48No.
50:49No.
50:50There's a...
50:51Wow.
50:52This is our kitchen.
50:53Your kitchen.
50:54My kitchen.
50:55Hang on.
50:56This is bigger.
50:57This is my kitchen.
50:58Can I just...
50:59We've got our own kitchens.
51:00Neil, Razor, we've got our own kitchens.
51:01Can I say something?
51:02Razor, we've got our own kitchens.
51:04Look at this.
51:05Well, it's only one cooker, but yeah.
51:07I can make a mess.
51:08I'll make an allowance.
51:09But the thing is...
51:10If you keep it clean.
51:11With an house like this character, you wouldn't expect to walk into a modern kitchen like this.
51:15That's unbelievable.
51:16It is, isn't it?
51:17It's the same as our kitchen.
51:18Two kitchens.
51:19Is it little fridge?
51:20Is it little fridge?
51:21Same kitchen.
51:22Is it?
51:23Oh, look at the larder.
51:24Oh.
51:25She won't be long.
51:26No.
51:27Nice sink.
51:28Butler sink?
51:29Butler sink?
51:30Butler, not Belfast.
51:31It's a butler.
51:32Butler.
51:33There we go.
51:34Well done.
51:35Give me...
51:36He knows it, sir.
51:37Have you?
51:38We've got one.
51:39You're super excited.
51:40I'm always excited.
51:41Razor can see the potential of it.
51:42I'm going to have to make my mind up after I've seen upstairs.
51:44OK.
51:45I'm going to give you a slight health and safety warning.
51:49Yeah.
51:50You might need to be on your hands and knees for a couple of them.
51:53Oh, no!
51:54That's all right.
51:55But, you know, I'm not harking back to the old days.
51:58I'm not harking back to the old days.
52:00No, no.
52:02Ten points at home.
52:03If you also spotted the sink has no ceramic overflow rear, that makes it a butler, not a Belfast.
52:10I did not expect it to be like this up here.
52:15Look how tall it is.
52:17Er, hold that thought.
52:19Oh, wow.
52:20Look at this little room.
52:21Oh.
52:22Oh, this is so lovely.
52:25Hello.
52:26I know.
52:27Wow.
52:28Look at this.
52:29It's so big when you get in here, eventually get in here.
52:34Oh, it's a lovely room.
52:35The door's driving me mad, but...
52:37Look.
52:38Even the lighting looks like spiders.
52:41No, that's in your head.
52:43Come on.
52:44It's a light.
52:45Yeah.
52:46Spider light.
52:47This is such a unique property.
52:50You don't get to look around a house like this very often.
52:53It is so beautiful.
52:55Oh, this is a nice room.
52:58This would be mine.
52:59This would be mine.
53:00And this is yours.
53:01This is yours.
53:02This is yours.
53:03There you go.
53:04Oh, loads of room for my stuff.
53:05That's enough for you.
53:07That's a lovely looking room.
53:08But it's still winding me up, talking.
53:09Well, just walk up and see what it's like.
53:11And a finger, yeah.
53:12Just see if you need to go for a wee wee in the night.
53:14Why don't you just go like this?
53:15Don't we?
53:16Yeah, you could do, yeah.
53:17There are two more bedrooms, one of which has a ladder leading to two attic rooms.
53:23Outside, there's a garage and a workshop, plus gardens to the front and rear stocked with mature fruit trees and private areas to relax in.
53:37Homes like this don't come on the market very often.
53:40So, we've now got to try and put a price on it.
53:43Mmm.
53:44825.
53:45No.
53:46I'm going to say 790.
53:51Okay.
53:54Interesting.
53:56The asking price, you are the closest, is between 850 and 900,000 pounds.
54:03Oh.
54:04Really?
54:05Wow.
54:06Yeah, I can see why it's that much money.
54:08It's a lovely area.
54:09I'm just a lovely house.
54:10I'm so glad we actually did come in and see it.
54:12I mean, because that's got to be the oldest house I've had to walk around in them.
54:15It's amazing house.
54:16It is.
54:17It is an unbelievable house.
54:18Beautiful.
54:19Despite Raisa's initial fear, he could eventually get over the thatch.
54:23He just struggled to get under the doors of this 15th century grade 2 listed immaculate cottage.
54:30With four bedrooms, a modern kitchen and a pristine garden, it's a beaut.
54:38We've had some unforgettable moments on the farm and seen some stunning houses that will live long in the memory.
54:45So, has it persuaded them to trade Ashford Town for Countryside United?
54:53Well, what a few days it has been.
54:55It's been magnificent.
54:56It's been absolutely brilliant.
54:57Thank you so much.
54:58Well, thank you.
54:59We've learnt a lot.
55:00Well, you tell me, what have you learnt over the last few days?
55:03I think this is so relaxing, even this setting we are now.
55:05It's just so...
55:06I mean, it's amazing, isn't it?
55:07It's so...
55:08I feel so chilled when I'm out in the country.
55:10The air, the greenery.
55:12Nice things.
55:13If I said to you, I'm going to pluck you away from here and take you back to a town for a house.
55:18No.
55:19What would you say?
55:20No chance.
55:21It's always on, you know, should we move and make that big step?
55:24But coming out and being with you for a couple of days and showing us houses, I'm more confident in myself and us that we could do it.
55:32I'm not getting any younger and this will be the final move.
55:35So, I would say, we've got to be serious.
55:37We've got to really, you know, just don't want to jump in.
55:39We've got to really think about things, but escape to the countries for me.
55:44Aww.
55:45And hopefully, one of those properties.
55:47Which house are we going to choose after three?
55:49Ready?
55:50One, two, three.
55:51Host house.
55:52You see?
55:53You see?
55:54We like the same things, don't we?
55:56Really?
55:57But we do have a memento for you.
55:59Oh.
56:00So...
56:02Let's live.
56:04Let's laugh.
56:05Aww, yes.
56:07Yeah.
56:08And finally, to the two of you, lots of love.
56:11Aww.
56:12Thanks so much.
56:13Aww, that is so nice.
56:14Thank you, Nicky.
56:15We love you.
56:16We love you.
56:17Thank you for escaping to the country with us.
56:19It's been wonderful.
56:20Thank you very much indeed.
56:27Well, we have had a fabulous few days here in Kent.
56:31And Reza really is larger than life.
56:34And his wife, Leah, so full of colour.
56:37Even though he's been the life and soul of the party for decades,
56:41this exciting move is one that will be mutually beneficial.
56:45As any country community would be lucky to have such a warm, engaging and entertaining family.
56:54If you would like to escape to the country in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales,
57:00remember, you don't need to be famous.

57:16고민.
57:17Yes.
57:18You won't get it.
57:21That's not fair, though.
