00:00Previously on Canada's Drag Race...
00:07You'll be designing for Brooklyn Heights.
00:09Oh!
00:10You can help me run some things.
00:11You wanna show me?
00:12Sister, I'm gonna need your help.
00:13Make my body suit.
00:15I don't know how to do this.
00:17Yes!
00:22It was very challenging to work around you this week.
00:25I just feel like you took a lot of your, like,
00:27stress and the challenge out on me.
00:29When I wouldn't help you, it'd be like,
00:30you're manipulative.
00:31Like, you're a bitch.
00:32Like...
00:33I didn't call you manipulative.
00:36Said you're a conniving cunt.
00:38Okay.
00:39Van Gogh, good drag-ulations.
00:42P.M.
00:43Shanta Yusei.
00:44Saltina Shaker.
00:45Sashay away.
00:51Oh!
00:52You did it!
00:53Oh, my God!
00:54Wait, what is on the...
00:55There is a smudgerini.
00:58Sending Saltina home is absolutely devastating.
01:02The room is gonna feel so weird without them
01:05and their mantras.
01:06Oh, my God.
01:07But...
01:08All right.
01:09It means I'm staying.
01:10That's how the Saltine crumbles.
01:13I didn't need to win to realize I'm worth it.
01:16We'll miss you, Saltina.
01:17Oh, I love you so much, girl.
01:19The ass that don't quit.
01:22I am sad to see Saltina go.
01:24I feel like she has been a guardian angel for me throughout this competition.
01:28But I'm used to friends going home, whether it's me sending them home or somebody else.
01:33So I need to focus on the prize.
01:36And if anything, bring that crown home for Ottawa.
01:38Whoa, no, wait.
01:39You ate that lipstick.
01:40No, you turned that out.
01:42I was like, it's my third time here.
01:44I need to just have fun.
01:47I need to go out there and just do what I do.
01:49Because if I'm going out, I'm not going out with my head low.
01:52I'm going out doing my shit.
01:54Like, you fucking did that.
01:56Thanks, y'all.
01:57Congrats, Van.
01:58I am so focused.
02:02Baby, after my safe streak and then my little stint on the bottom, I'm back on top.
02:07And, baby, I have three challenge wins.
02:09I'm going to take that fucking crown.
02:10I'm like the second person to ever win three challenges on Canada's Records.
02:13Oh, wow.
02:14After Rita.
02:15And I'm just like so gagged.
02:17Van has the most impressive track record maybe in the whole franchise.
02:21This is incredible what she's accomplished.
02:23Does that mean she has the win secured yet?
02:26Not on my watch.
02:28I really thought this was my week.
02:30That's crazy.
02:31You almost died.
02:32That's not crazy.
02:33Is that crazy?
02:34It was a black fucking dress.
02:35Okay, but it was close.
02:36I can't believe out of all challenges, I was in the top four at the design challenge.
02:40Like, are you kidding me?
02:41I'm definitely a little sad I didn't get the win.
02:44But, I mean, I didn't go to fashion school.
02:47So, that's what it is.
02:49Can you explain the apple?
02:51The apple?
02:52Oh, she thinks you look like an apple.
02:54Are you not an apple?
02:55No.
02:56I'm a pink carnation flower.
02:57Oh, pink carnation is crazy.
02:59I thought I was giving like Paris spring summer because like they eat apples in Paris.
03:03Bitch, I do that.
03:04They eat apples everywhere.
03:05All right, I think I want to get out of this apple.
03:08Bye.
03:09The other queens should be thanking me because I got out some really big threats.
03:16You really thought the hot cool glam black dress was going to beat me?
03:19I was close.
03:20I have more in me and I am ready to show it.
03:23Oh.
03:24I am ready to fight.
03:25This is what I came here to do.
03:27How many people can PM take out?
03:30Let's send the rest of these bitches home.
03:32The winner of Canada's Drag Race receives $100,000 with Tracy Melshore, Sarane Fox, and Brooklyn Heights with extra special guest judge Alison Russell.
03:49Oh my god.
03:50Count it.
03:51One, two, three.
03:52It's a new day in the work room and I need to be a top.
04:04I need to prove it to myself and to the world that I am the Dom Top that I claim to be.
04:10Top five!
04:11I can't believe it.
04:14I can.
04:15No, you can't.
04:16I believe it.
04:17She believed he lied.
04:19It feels so good to be in the top five and to be here with everyone having such a unique take on drag.
04:27Highly iconic.
04:29This is everything right now.
04:30I am wanting my first win.
04:33I have sent home a quarter of the competition.
04:36Oh my god.
04:37We have like multiple lip sync assassins.
04:39No, no, no, no, no, no.
04:40We have one lip sync assassin.
04:42That title was given in the slay house and we have a lip sync survivor.
04:46Oh, no.
04:47Girl, you are a lip-synker and you're a good lip-synker.
04:51Assassin, I fear not.
04:54Okay, wait.
04:55So I just snatched my third win.
04:58I have one maxi win and a mini win, which is something.
05:01Sure.
05:02I have no win.
05:03And I'm honestly a little frustrated.
05:06Just looking at the statistics, I feel like you've been in the bottom four times.
05:09I've been in the bottom twice.
05:10Three.
05:11And I actually fought my way to be here.
05:13Like I wasn't given the beaver.
05:14I just feel like so discounted and it's really frustrating me.
05:19And like you two have each other and you two have each other.
05:22And I just feel like nobody sees me as like competition.
05:27I feel like from week one when I wasn't in the top five, I was just upset at myself.
05:33I felt like I let myself down.
05:34And then throughout the competition, I kind of built up that confidence.
05:38But I've seen all these girls can do.
05:40I believe in all of them.
05:41And I feel like the support is not being given back.
05:43It's like fuck.
05:44Like what the fuck do I have to do?
05:46And I feel like I fought my way to this top five and like I'm really proud of myself.
05:49But I just like honestly, just the fact that you fought your way here.
05:55I see you even more now in the top five.
05:57Like I see you as a strong top five.
06:01I can feel that there's a performance challenge coming.
06:03I just have that feeling.
06:05Oh, yeah.
06:06Oh, yeah.
06:07Let's go again.
06:08This thing.
06:09Girl, too much.
06:10I'd be down for another design challenge.
06:11Oh!
06:12She's not just a dancer.
06:14Not anymore.
06:15Oh!
06:16Well, let's find out.
06:18I know.
06:19I ain't gonna wait anymore.
06:20Oh!
06:21Canada.
06:22Sheen and I already didn't have her.
06:25Ladykins.
06:27We've almost reached the climax.
06:30But you can't get wet without making a splash.
06:33After all, Canada's next drag superstar never comes last.
06:40Oh.
06:41Okay.
06:42Mother knows.
06:43Well, hello, my little loose knuckles.
06:46Miss Brooklyn, I think there's a hole in your suits.
06:51Queens, we are one stop away from the finish line.
06:55Ah!
06:56But which of you will earn your spot in the finale?
06:59Oh!
07:00Like we always say, Canada's next drag superstar needs to have charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.
07:06And it's time for you to be tested on each of these qualities in four separate challenges.
07:14Four?
07:15In this week's maxi challenge, we'll be holding the first ever contest.
07:19Oh!
07:20Yes!
07:21Wait!
07:22I'm living.
07:23There will be four rounds, and you must win one of them to claim your place in next week's
07:27fight for the crown.
07:28Oh, my God.
07:29The losing queens will continue to fight for their spot.
07:34Okay.
07:35Goodbye.
07:36There's no second best here, so take big swings, because fortune favors the bold, baby.
07:42Work.
07:43First up, your charisma will be put to the test.
07:46You'll take to the main stage and perform a she-larious rap about one of the first five seasons of Canada's Drag Race.
07:52The queen who serves the most charisma will snatch the first spot in the finale.
07:57Meaning, they don't have to compete in the other rounds.
08:00Uh-oh!
08:01Girl, that's the guy.
08:02Winning the first part of the challenge would be everything.
08:04You should get to sit back and watch the other four bitches compete for the last three spots.
08:09What the fuck is going on here?
08:11I really don't want to be dragging my black ass and doing four damn maxi-challenges in one week.
08:17And you'll really want to step it up, because joining us this week is Grammy Award-winning Broadway darling, Alison Russell.
08:24Hello.
08:26Come on, Grammy.
08:27Racers, start your engines.
08:29And may the best drag queen shine!
08:32Let's go!
08:33Shine!
08:34How fucking gaggy is it that we are about to fight for our spots in the top four?
08:43One of us is moving to the top four today.
08:45That's-
08:46Yes.
08:47That's wacky.
08:48Yes, it's a performance, but it's also charisma.
08:51So it's about how you embody in your stage presence and like how you bring it to life.
08:55I really want to win that first round, but especially with charisma, bitch, I feel like I do best when the judges get to see me for who I am.
09:01Yeah.
09:02And so I'm going to give them the taste of Ebony fucking 2,000 motherfucking percent.
09:07Also, like, a rap about the first five seasons of Canada's Drag Race, I live.
09:12The hardest part of this challenge is that, girl, we're rapping and we're rapping quickly.
09:16Like, I'm a white girl from New Brunswick.
09:18Do I look like a rapper?
09:20I feel like it's gonna be knowing the words, knowing your timing, knowing where the pause is and where the humor needs to be infused into it.
09:28I'm just ready to shut up a lot of people and a lot of the chatter in my head.
09:33Yeah, I feel the same way.
09:34I feel like especially after, like, the judges seeing me last week, I feel like I'm on such an incline and ride, so I have to make sure I don't stumble.
09:43Yeah.
09:44The thing about this challenge is, like, after this week, no matter what, you can't say that no one's counted you out because for this one, you have to count yourself in.
09:51You also can't say you didn't earn your spot in the end at this point because, bitch, that's literally what the challenge is. It's earn your spot in the end.
09:57Girl, this is like the obstacle course of drag right now. It's like, it feels like the whole competition we've done so far all in one challenge.
10:05Yeah. This is it. This is our last moment to prove to the judges and show them why we deserve to be in this finale.
10:13I am ready to show these bitches why I sent four people home.
10:16Clock it.
10:17Well, let's get ready to show our full cunts to the world.
10:21Yeah.
10:22Let's do it.
10:26Welcome to round one.
10:27The queen who brings the most pure charisma will claim their space in the finale.
10:32To tell us about season one, it's Ebony LaBelle.
10:40Season one, it's time to untuck.
10:42Juicebox is an angel.
10:43Help me, I'm stuck.
10:44We got so many icons, so where do we start?
10:47Your lace line looks like barf.
10:50Your hair is fried.
10:51That wig should go directly in the corner.
10:54But you're wearing some crusty ass golden girls bullshit on your head.
10:58And you're coming for me.
10:59Rita wants a hot dog.
11:01Jimbo wanna fight.
11:02And Kiki wanna kai kai cause she drove all night.
11:04And Starzy beating me and she's not sorry about it.
11:07I'm booting.
11:08Priyanka, the only thing you're fucking is stupid.
11:10Miss John Rivers came back from the dead.
11:12Miss Lou's jaw back at it again.
11:15Strutting like Brooklyn, serving like Tracy.
11:18Honey, this is Christmas, baby.
11:20It's called Honey, apostrophe, this is Christmas, baby.
11:23Oh, yes, honey.
11:25I'll be sure to look for it at Walmart.
11:29Uh-huh.
11:30Hey, Scarlet Bo Bo, you wore it well.
11:32But Bo are gonna show you how to read a bitch down.
11:35Got a queen of the world, queen of the hall of fame.
11:38And our first Drake superstar off.
11:40What's her name?
11:42Woo!
11:49Season two are coming back to me now.
11:51We got two-headed queens and a forearm step down.
11:53We got 6,000 memorable moments from Eve.
11:56And don't forget, I got a trick up my sleeve.
11:59And you never saw it coming, baby.
12:04Did I see it coming, coming?
12:06Pause for the big reveal.
12:09Oh, haute couture out of cold checkroom ticks.
12:11Your new love verse the sad song and I'm the remix.
12:13And ping, bang, and bomb couldn't stick to the pitch.
12:16Remember when I said I had bad knees?
12:18I lied, bitch.
12:19Big top, bi-flop, giddy up hoes.
12:21Sookie stunnin' but Yoko was an oh no.
12:24I bet we'll be seein' that prom queen again.
12:26It's time to serve Northern Lights camera action.
12:29I just have this horrible feeling like something bad is gonna happen today.
12:35Well, whatever it is, I'm sure that's anointment for it.
12:39Kendall gonna give you hip pads for the gods.
12:42Gia gonna give another long monologue.
12:44Ice is gonna give you a new trendsetta.
12:47She's queen of the North singing La Poussetta.
12:57Season three, yeah, this feels correct.
12:59You better give me one shot at this roulette.
13:02I mean, what's that French?
13:03I mean, who knows?
13:04Like, I literally was fucked by a ghost.
13:07Time, the door was open.
13:08And I'm just like, what's going on?
13:10Like, my booty hole?
13:12It felt weird.
13:14Like, it felt like a sensation, like a tingling.
13:17Damn mighty tux, bitch stole my look.
13:19Another bra and panties, this bitch just shook.
13:22Sidewalk to catwalk, Curito Monroe.
13:25That was so unprofessional.
13:27This girl's trip ain't goin' to plan.
13:30This girl didn't just come here to tan.
13:32Bomb baby struttin', boom boom be designing.
13:35Don't forget these hot glue gun girls, they be fightin'.
13:38I know that, bitch.
13:39I am fucking thinking.
13:40I just do not get along with her.
13:42She's not a great person to work with.
13:45Period.
13:48These cosmetic queens are kinda heated.
13:50Vivian got control, all deleted.
13:53A new day has come, so just open your eyes.
13:55Giselle snaps the crown, wavin' lullaby.
13:59Hey!
14:01Woo!
14:02Season four, golden beaver come through.
14:08Sissy's super shoeless, but I guess that'll do.
14:10Got lip sync so sickening, got hot tips so spicy.
14:13Got untucks that aren't gettin' a little feisty.
14:16I said what I said.
14:17And I needed to reciprocate that with gratitude.
14:20Fuck this noise.
14:22I'm not here for it.
14:23Well, we're not here for it either!
14:25Fuck!
14:26Virga is a light pun, Virga is the most.
14:29Someone let Melinda Virga feel her growth.
14:31Amy's wearing towels and Neera can't sew, okay.
14:34Safe, Melinda, and let's do a show.
14:36That double shantay had us all wired.
14:39That musical was Brooklyn inspired.
14:41Love me like a love bug, flexible and limber.
14:44She's ready to get fingered.
14:46What?
14:47What?
14:48Oh.
14:49She's ready to get rig fingered.
14:51She's ready to get fingered.
14:53I'm like, get fingered?
14:55She looks like she's fingered.
14:57These girls are iconic.
14:58These girls are hilarious.
14:59And this girlfriend is a whole damn experience.
15:02Denim serving, trying to see, and Luna serving attitude.
15:04And Lena serving when they're saying thanks with gratitude.
15:16Season five walking through these doors like,
15:18Who the fuck are these gorgeous whores?
15:20We got slay off teams, you better go off queens.
15:23Wait, wait, wait, wait.
15:24Is that a family?
15:26That is not a family.
15:28That's a hot cup of coffee.
15:30That is not family behavior.
15:33That's bedroom behavior.
15:36Pearl is sweet, petite, and ready to eat.
15:38Xanadu, Xanadu, don't know how to find the beat.
15:41These fast fashion queens, they got thrifty.
15:433750.
15:46What just happened?
15:47We got 90s fever.
15:48And that smash game was more wooden than the beaver.
15:51And Miss Brooklyn Heights rocking cis custom fits.
15:53And, um, hold up.
15:55Someone just quit?
15:56You know what?
15:57I'm so fucking done!
15:59Like, are you fucking kidding?
16:01No, I'm done.
16:02I am sick of her shit.
16:04Fuck you!
16:05Anyway!
16:06Maxi?
16:07Winner.
16:08Mini?
16:09Wang.
16:10Poison.
16:11Control knocked him out with a bang.
16:12Wrapping House of Couture.
16:13She took it to the sky.
16:14But it's Virgo season.
16:15Bitch, get in line.
16:17Hey!
16:18Woo!
16:19Queens, that was so much fun!
16:24Yes!
16:25We did it, Joe.
16:26From each and every single one of you.
16:28What a fun trip down memory lane.
16:30Thank you for that.
16:31Five wrapstresses stand in front of us.
16:34This is a tough one because we can only pick one winner.
16:37And there was such great things about every performance.
16:39Ebony, your ease and your flow is so lovely to watch on stage.
16:44I love how you just rolled through that.
16:46Like, this was always your song and always what you were going to do.
16:49I loved it.
16:50I've said you're a superstar before.
16:52You just proved it once again.
16:54Well done.
16:56Sammy, you're so stupid.
16:58Right?
16:59And I love it.
17:00You reminded me of, like, dark, divine, dominant comedy with Cam.
17:05So brilliant.
17:06You are my little trashy Barbie and I love it so much.
17:09I would wear all of that.
17:10It's like a Barbie you've played with too much.
17:12Exactly.
17:13Those are my favorite Barbies.
17:14They've been around.
17:15They've been around.
17:16I love it.
17:17Yeah.
17:18Caramel, you have such a power to you.
17:20And you just stand so beautifully in it.
17:22The storytelling was off the hook.
17:25And I thought you really found the moments to, like, stop when you needed to.
17:29Which, you know, I'm a sucker for those still moments.
17:33PM, you brought such great comedy moments.
17:37I was dying over the ring finger moment over here.
17:40The physical comedy, the slapstick that you were putting into it as well.
17:43I'm a sucker for a good dance.
17:44And a high kick into a floor split to a little bit of fingering, so.
17:48Oh.
17:49Van Gogh, you had such intensity, which I loved.
17:53And, like, grit.
17:54And you were like, I'm here to do this.
17:55You really brought it to life.
17:57Just really magnetic.
17:58I couldn't take my eyes off of you.
18:00Your impersonations of other queens from the other seasons.
18:04I mean, the storytelling from each of you.
18:06It's incredible what all of you are doing.
18:08Well, queens, we've made our decision.
18:12PM, you are the winner of the charisma round.
18:16Are you fucking serious?
18:18I hate that.
18:20Oh, my God.
18:23Outrageous.
18:25I cannot even catch my breath.
18:30I did it.
18:31I'm in the fucking finale.
18:33PM, you have claimed the first ticket into the season six grand finale.
18:38Work, baby.
18:40Good job, Pam.
18:42You may leave the stage.
18:44You can go home.
18:45Bye.
18:46Bye, bitches.
18:47I have no idea what these other competitors are going to be doing for the rest of these days up to come.
18:58But all I know is I get to sit back and smoke a joint and watch the show.
19:03Sorry, bitches.
19:06As for the rest of you, fear not.
19:09Your second chance to advance starts now.
19:12Oh, my God.
19:14Oh, my God.
19:15For your next battle, it's time to unleash your uniqueness.
19:19Girl.
19:20You'll each be given the same dress, and we want to see it transformed into a one-of-a-kind couture creation that screams you.
19:29Thank you so much.
19:31Redemption.
19:32Be the singular sensation, and you'll sashay directly into the finale.
19:38Ready, set, stitch.
19:42Oh.
19:43Here we go.
19:44Please.
19:45Bye.
19:46Oh.
19:47Oh, work.
19:48Now what in the...
19:49Girl, that is nothing.
19:50Figure skating tease.
19:51All right.
19:52Well, let's make you into something nice.
19:53And uniqueness starts right now.
20:07Now, we all get the same dress, and we have to transform it into our own unique point of view.
20:14Well, another day, another design challenge.
20:17The hot glue is still drying on my other dress, and I have to make a new one?
20:22Oh, this is so depressing.
20:23I'm smiling again.
20:24Oh my God.
20:25Why the fuck do we have another fucking design challenge?
20:27Evil.
20:28Conniving.
20:29Rude.
20:30Ugh.
20:31Do you have any ideas?
20:32Anything come to mind?
20:33I'm just figuring out how I can use this without using it.
20:40Bro.
20:41I kind of want to start from scratch.
20:42I'm just saying.
20:43What are you guys thinking over there?
20:44I'm thinking about making something unique.
20:52Well, yeah.
20:53I am thinking it's my third design challenge, and I feel like I pulled a lot of tricks out
20:59of my bag, and I'm hoping that I have one more to pull out.
21:02After winning both design challenges of the season, I feel like I have this expectation
21:07and this baseline level with the judges of what I can deliver.
21:11This design challenge is all about me.
21:14I'm not helping anyone anymore.
21:16Man, you know how to make a pleated shirt?
21:20Yeah?
21:21Pleat it.
21:22What do you want to know exactly?
21:25How to make a pleated skirt?
21:27But that's the whole thing.
21:29Like, what do you think you know?
21:32Nothing.
21:33My plan on this design challenge is to stay far away from Ebony.
21:37I do not want to get sucked into that vortex.
21:41This challenge is literally about putting yourself first and getting your spot in the top four.
21:46No one's going to get myself to the end.
21:48I'm looking at this fugly black dress, and she is not standing out.
21:56Interesting.
21:57So I need to make her stand out.
21:59How can I make her stand out?
22:01Are we feeling denim?
22:04Should I do a denim tutu?
22:07I want my dress to tell me what I should do.
22:12How do you want to feel?
22:14And I can guide her through into her blossoming moment on the main stage.
22:20Girl, I got you.
22:23We're going to get you good.
22:25Tell me what you want.
22:27I can get you there.
22:28Okay.
22:33What's everyone's designs going to be like?
22:36Like, do you guys have direction yet?
22:39Because I don't.
22:40I am going to do something very different from my first two designs.
22:44I'm going to do a very punk moment.
22:47Are you going to, like, use this ugly fabric at all in the finish?
22:51I am, because I think if I didn't, that would be not the challenge.
22:54Oh, wow.
22:55And you're going to, like, it's going to be, like, visible.
22:57It's going to be visible, yes.
22:59Damn.
23:00Out of all the design challenges, Van, which one do you feel is the hardest?
23:03This one?
23:04Yeah, because it's my third one.
23:07I also just think, like, it's, like, I have, like, an expectation.
23:10So I still need to, like, live up to that.
23:12Karen, like, you got praised last week for, like, you know, stepping aside your box and, like, they all knew you couldn't sew, but you, like, deliver something that, like, you delivered a boring black dress.
23:19So it's like...
23:20But I almost beat you.
23:21Oh.
23:22You did not almost beat me.
23:23I did.
23:24I would say that Van is obviously the biggest competition.
23:27I know she designs.
23:28I know what she can do.
23:29But that's enough from her.
23:31Her time's over.
23:32Let it go.
23:33First half of the competition, Van, sure, whatever.
23:34Second half, Caramelk is coming for that fucking crown.
23:37I could have won the challenge over you.
23:39Art critiques were pretty much the same.
23:41Girl, bye.
23:42Caramelk acting like she's a fucking designer now.
23:46Bitch, you hot glued fucking fabric to a corset.
23:49Brooklyn said that my look was the best made and she was the most impressed by mine.
23:53What did you get?
23:54She loved my look.
23:55She said she would wear it.
23:56It was just, like...
23:57You thought the midsection was wrong.
23:58There was no hem on the bottom.
24:00And it was a black dress.
24:01She said there was just minor details.
24:02But I feel like, for me, not actually being a designer, just to have those few edits, kind of ate you up.
24:07Let's see if you can pull it off again without Suki's help.
24:10Let's see, girl.
24:11I want to make a similar dress to what I made for Brooklyn, but kind of in a way that fits me in my own way and my culture.
24:18I want to kind of do what I did last week, but better.
24:21Wait, guys, guys, guys, I have announcements.
24:24Oh, these are nice.
24:25Don't touch, bitch.
24:26I'm giving uniqueness because I am uniquely terrified and uniquely shit at this.
24:35My biggest fear right now is, like, I really don't want my outfit to fall off of me.
24:40I don't want it to break.
24:42I don't want it to look like shit.
24:44So many fears.
24:46Why have one when you could have it all?
24:49I'm happy for your revelation, sister.
24:52And I hope you fail.
24:53Oh.
24:54What?
25:00This dress right here, the one that I'm using as a base, is all gold.
25:03And I only wear it for Acadian events because, like, our, like, symbol is the gold star.
25:10Girl, I really think that, like, my Acadianness is a big part of my uniqueness.
25:15Whether I'm in a queer space, I want to bring my Acadian culture with me.
25:19If I'm in an Acadian space, I want to bring queerness with me because there are two things that are so integral to who I am as a person.
25:27What's your Acadian last name again?
25:29LeBlanc.
25:30LeBlanc.
25:31LeBlanc.
25:32Growing up, I always knew I was Acadian, and I just, like, never had a lot of opportunities to really connect with it.
25:38My nana, Yvonne LeBlanc, is...
25:41Yvonne?
25:42Yeah.
25:43Yes.
25:44Very Acadian.
25:45Is a very Acadian name, yes.
25:46Um, she's actually the reason why I got into sewing.
25:49I found her, like, old sewing machine in my basement.
25:51She's, like, didn't grow up with a lot of money, so, like, sewing was kind of more of, like, a tactical...
25:56Yes.
25:57...like, reason.
25:58My grandma lost her mind towards the end of her life, and she wasn't the same anymore, so getting to hold on to our love of sewing together has been such, like, a blessing.
26:08But when I went back to Nova Scotia where my nana's from, I've never met any of these people in my life, but they were acting like we've been at family gatherings all the time.
26:15Yes.
26:16It was...
26:17Yes.
26:18An Acadian family party is a fucking party.
26:21Another big thing about being Acadian is that we have joie de vivre.
26:24It's what people always say when they meet us.
26:26We have joie de vivre.
26:27Like, we fucking love to have fun.
26:29Like, hello.
26:31I really want to, like, go and, like, experience more of, like, even, like, where you're from and just, like, where my family's from.
26:38Yeah.
26:39Seeing Sammy here and, like, I see my, like, nana and my, like, family and her just feel so much more connected to that.
26:45It's just been so, like, really nice.
26:49Girl, how are you planning on showing your uniqueness?
26:54I kind of want to just walk down the runway and serve, like, Black excellence.
26:59She deserves to be here.
27:01She's not, like, I'm not just here because I'm Black.
27:03Like, I'm not a token.
27:04You know what I mean?
27:05Yes.
27:06Being a Black queen, you want the sisterhood.
27:11And because drag is also so competitive and also because drag does tokenize a lot, there's this, like, this sense of, like, fighting for those opportunities to be, like, the token Black girl.
27:23How is that, like, growing up in the East Coast?
27:25The East Coast is very white.
27:27And I feel like where there was Black kids, it was very much, like, oh, you're not Black or, like, you're not Black enough.
27:33And I feel like my Blackness was kind of stripped away.
27:36Everything was fine around my family, but, like, being one of the only Black kids in my school and, like, all my friends being predominantly White, it's more so just, like, the way you're raised, like, what you're around.
27:46Yeah.
27:47It's like people would say, like, you don't speak like you're Black.
27:49And it's like, well, what do Black people speak like?
27:51What about I mean?
27:52Yeah.
27:53I also grew up around that same group of people that were constantly telling me I wasn't Black enough.
28:02And so I'm like, okay, so then what is the, what's the rule book?
28:05Exactly.
28:06It's crazy.
28:07Because it's like, girl, you're Black because you're Black.
28:10And there's no right way to be something aside from, like, being yourself.
28:14Who put that thought there in the first place of what is and what's not Black enough?
28:21It's such a nasty, deeply rooted self-hate and racism.
28:27Because when you don't see Black people act like these caricatures, you're like, what?
28:34You're not, you're not Black.
28:36What the fuck?
28:38And it's so nasty because it's, it was this, it's such an intentional plan to help break down any sense of community.
28:49It's like, girl, we're two Black queens.
28:52And I think it's sickening because we both have very different perspectives on things.
28:56But that's the important part.
28:57Yeah.
28:58People don't think about intersectionality a lot.
29:01And there's so many ways that people were raised.
29:03Things that we were learned and so much that we're exposed to, we're all exposed to different culture.
29:07And the Black experience is not one size fits all.
29:11I think we are bonded and have similar experiences, especially when it comes to racism and oppression.
29:18But when it comes to personality and identity, that's all different.
29:22You don't put that into a category.
29:24I love your sister.
29:26I love you.
29:27I'm so glad that Karamok is here.
29:29And I see her so clearly.
29:31I am just, I'm just so happy.
29:33I'm so happy.
29:39All right, top five.
29:41How are we feeling today?
29:43I definitely did something different than my other two looks.
29:45So I'm like excited to show the judge something different, but also excited to never change the sewing machine ever again.
29:50Girl, same.
29:51How do y'all feel about your look?
29:53I feel good.
29:54Just very like deja vu from last week.
29:57I'm quite happy with what I did.
29:59This is my challenge.
30:00Girl, redemption.
30:01If you win the sewing challenge, I will.
30:03Hello.
30:04Girl.
30:05Where have you been?
30:07For the first time, I'm entering elimination day without worry about going home.
30:13Well, you escaped another design challenge.
30:15Are you serious?
30:16Which like probably is your biggest fear.
30:18We showed again, yeah.
30:19I didn't have to do it three times?
30:21Yeah.
30:22Yeah.
30:23You missed a lot of emotions.
30:24Okay.
30:25So what did you get up to?
30:26Did you sleep?
30:27I got a little bit of sleep.
30:28But you've been going through it like every week.
30:30And I feel like to get that first spot, this is so big for you.
30:34So like also like a performance challenge from like the lip sync slay offs to like redeem that.
30:38Yeah.
30:39That was the most important thing for me is like the slay offs felt so different than yesterday's challenge.
30:45Yes.
30:46Because you're competing against somebody.
30:48Yesterday, it felt like the first time that I went out there by myself and just vibed with the judges and did a performance.
30:56I love to dance so much.
30:58For some reason, when I perform, everything goes out of my head except the moment and the fun I'm having.
31:05My mom and I shared this commonality of dance.
31:08From my earliest childhood memories, it was times in the studio.
31:12And then I just danced and it made my mom happy.
31:17So I just kept doing it and it really made me happy too.
31:20I haven't really told you all, but yeah, this is the 10th year anniversary of my mom's passing too.
31:31And I've just been dealing with a lot of regret here and missing her a lot.
31:38What do you regret?
31:40Well, everything.
31:42My mom was like one of my best friends.
31:45Uh, yeah, I really feel that I didn't use my time enough with her, which sucks.
31:52Oh, sorry.
31:54Damn it.
31:58I didn't come out to her.
32:00I didn't let her into my partner and I's life and just being here and like being so happy here.
32:07I just really wish.
32:08Want to share it with her.
32:09I feel like really close to her being here and it's been a lot to deal with.
32:14On my own, a lot of it.
32:16Each time I like walk off the stage, I like think of how proud she'd be of me.
32:20And like, yeah, I feel like she missed out on a lot.
32:24Not all parents have to like be the biggest cheerleaders, but my mom was.
32:31And later on in life, I found out that she knew I was queer, but she never pushed me to come out.
32:36She was waiting for me to do it myself and I just never did it.
32:41But she knew.
32:43I understand like how it feels like.
32:46Yeah.
32:47It's so weird.
32:48I didn't have the best relationship with my dad, but like now that he's gone, I wish that like opened myself up more to him and let him see.
32:57I'm really relating to PM in this moment.
32:59My dad passed before I was really able to show them who Ebony was and who Jules was, you know?
33:04And he passed when I was in high school.
33:062018, I came out to him and this is when I was like gay at the time.
33:11I remember he would like, he like looked at me and was like, I won't believe you until you're 18.
33:15So come back and tell me when you're 18, because then, you know, I'm an adult and that was like always a goal.
33:21Like I always wanted to kind of like give him that I told you so moment.
33:24It's like, it's like you're missing something that you'll never have.
33:27Yeah.
33:28It's hard when there's so much like hurt there, but there was love there.
33:33So I'm trying to hold on to that and remember it.
33:37I'm just proud.
33:38I think we should all be like really, really proud.
33:40I'm so proud of us.
33:42We are in the top five.
33:43A sickening top five.
33:45A sickening top five.
33:46Come on uniqueness.
33:47Oh my God, guys, they've been warning us this whole season.
33:50That's literally a runway song.
33:51No, I'm telling you.
33:52I was saying this yesterday.
33:53What did they say?
33:54The runway song is terrific.
33:55Hey, girl, there's a car.
33:56Runway song is charisma.
33:57Uniqueness.
33:58Uniqueness.
33:59C-U-N-T.
34:00They've been warning us all season with that runway song, which is crazy.
34:03And bitch, little did we see it coming.
34:05Well, every season is about that.
34:06What is that, Sammy?
34:07Like, you know, I always knew.
34:09I always knew, bitch.
34:10Girl, I always knew.
34:12I'm Sammy Laundrie.
34:13I always knew.
34:16Girl, bye.
34:17Girl, bye.
34:25Come on, girl.
34:26Put the bass in your walk.
34:27Head to toe.
34:28Let your whole body talk.
34:29Woo!
34:30Muggies.
34:31Muggies.
34:32Muggies in here.
34:33Welcome to the main stage of Canada's Drag Race.
34:48Class is in session, and we're grading on a curve.
34:51It's teacher's pet, Tracy Melshor.
34:53Meow, Brooklyn.
34:55When it comes to serving mother, she wrote the textbook.
34:58It's Zerane Fox.
35:00Mother knows best.
35:01And it's Broadway star and triple threat, Alison Russell.
35:05Oh, it's not a threat, Brooke.
35:07It's a promise.
35:08This week, it's a fight for the finale.
35:11Up next, our remaining queens turn a little black dress into a big showstopper.
35:17Racers, start your engines.
35:19And may the best drag queen win.
35:22Charisma, uniqueness.
35:26Category is uniqueness.
35:29First up, Ebony LaBelle.
35:32Oh.
35:33That's the black dress?
35:36I am wearing this sexy little hoochie mama shaker-ass-alicious dress.
35:40Ooh, honey, and I'm stomping it on the runway.
35:42So delightful and sparkly and ooh and jazzy and a lot of assy.
35:46On the next episode of Dawson's Cheek, the original dress was not Ebony LaBelle, but this dress, oh, it's Ebony motherfucking LaBelle.
35:55It is giving fully realized, conceptual uniqueness, perfection.
36:02If you got it, flaunt it.
36:05Sammy Landry.
36:06This dress is giving you high fashion fantasy with a little twist of what's going on over there.
36:14It's a lovely leopard print gown and there's rosebud buttholes all over it.
36:21I feel like this is some real couture shit right now.
36:26It's giving Sahara Jessica Parker.
36:30I know that the judges are saying, is that Gisele Bontien?
36:33No, no, no, no, no.
36:34It's Sammy Landry.
36:36Next, Caramel.
36:38The fantasy is black regal-ness.
36:41A queen that has earned her stripes.
36:44I incorporated the original dress by using it as a trim.
36:47I'm walking as low as I want.
36:49I'm taking my time.
36:50I'm commanding the stage.
36:51I want to show the judges that the little girl at the start of the season has grown all the way up and I'm feeling powerful.
36:59I'm feeling unapologetically black.
37:01Very elegant.
37:02Very.
37:03She golden.
37:04Girl.
37:05Girl.
37:06Girl.
37:07Girl.
37:08And finally, Van Gogh.
37:12Wow.
37:13I completely transformed the dress.
37:15I took the whole thing apart, used it for patterns.
37:18I took the black material and created a new legging to elongate the body.
37:23And then I made this structural jacket dress.
37:26It's a little McGlare, a little punk.
37:28It's giving Vivian Westwood goes north to the Highlands.
37:32Inspired.
37:33I feel like I manage a rock band.
37:36I have power and I'm not afraid to use this.
37:38I feel like I definitely would be firing someone.
37:40I'm firing the other three designers because they can't sew.
37:43Save Melinda!
37:48Welcome our designing women.
37:50First up, Ebony LaBelle.
37:52Now tell me about your look and how did you transform your dress into this?
37:56So I took the skirt and I used it as this skirt as a base.
38:00I sewed the whole top with some of the fabric that the dress was made out of.
38:05And then I bedazzled and bling, bling.
38:07Yeah, but I did sew!
38:09I love the transformation of this dress.
38:11This is something so quintessentially you that I could absolutely see you wearing out.
38:16I love the classic burlesque elements with the little ruffles.
38:20I love the asymmetry, the sparkle, the shine.
38:23It's cheeky but classy at the same time somehow.
38:26I can see that the dress is still there but I feel like the construction could have been tweaked a little bit tighter.
38:32The challenge was to take this black dress and make it uniquely you.
38:36And you can see that in the way that you walked out because you felt like you.
38:41You're not just the glue gun girl!
38:43I am not!
38:44Girl, I feel so powerful like...
38:46And then you hit the button so it goes back to finish it.
38:48I was like, okay, work.
38:49Yeah, just watch your nails.
38:50Keep your nails out.
38:51Now who taught you that?
38:55Next up, Sammy Landry.
38:56Hi.
38:57Hi, tell us about your dress.
38:59So I saw the little dress and then I was like, you know what?
39:03I'm just gonna cut her up.
39:04So I cut the whole thing into strips and that's where these bows come from.
39:09So this is all the remnants of that dress.
39:11I really get your drag and I love how much you know who that is and what she wears.
39:17It's giving me JLo and her iconic Versace number at the Grammys.
39:22But the brief was to transform the dress.
39:27All you did was use little pieces of the fabric from it to accentuate a completely new dress.
39:33But you look good gal.
39:37Next up, Van Goss.
39:39Tell us about your look and how you incorporated the little black dress into it.
39:43So I used it to create these pattern pieces on the jacket dress moment
39:48and then added in the plaid to kind of round it out.
39:50And then I took the little black dress material to create more of a legging.
39:53So it kind of has elements of a little black dress but a little black legging pant moment.
39:58Well, as per usual, you took a big bite out of a design challenge.
40:02Can't help it.
40:03I love the silhouette.
40:04I love that I can still actually see elements of it in there.
40:07I love that it's so you as well.
40:09It's very your taste, your drag.
40:11It fits you beautifully.
40:13I'm in awe of the craftsmanship, the tailoring.
40:16And I have a Scottish grandma, which is not immediately apparent.
40:19So I'm a sucker for plaid.
40:21Just fantastic.
40:24Next up, Caramel.
40:26Tell us about your look and how you incorporated the little black dress into it.
40:30So this week, Ebony and I had a powerful conversation about our blackness.
40:34So this look was kind of a love letter to that.
40:37Obviously, I don't design.
40:38Last week, I did really well.
40:39So I didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
40:41So I kind of went in that same structure.
40:43And everywhere you kind of see like the flower trim, I put the black dress as the trim.
40:47And then the flowers over top here and on the train as well and on the do rag.
40:52You look gorgeous, stunning.
40:54And I can still empathize with everything that you just said about being black and black identity.
41:00But the assignment is uniqueness.
41:03And when you came out, I was struck by how it looked like the look that you designed for Brooke,
41:09which by definition doesn't make it unique.
41:12You can't actually see any of the black dress on your outfit because it's covered by something else.
41:16You do look beautiful in this.
41:18It's a great silhouette on you.
41:19I love this color palette on you.
41:21It's rich.
41:22It's gorgeous.
41:23But unfortunately, it misses the mark when it comes to the challenge.
41:26I think that your black experience is uniquely you and none of us are going to touch that.
41:31That's your gold.
41:33Yeah.
41:34The dress is not unique.
41:37But girl, you definitely are.
41:41There's the majesty to this look.
41:43There's a regalness.
41:44And there's also an iconography to it that reminds me that all of humanity is one family.
41:50And our mother, if we trace her back far enough, came from Africa.
41:55All of us.
41:56And I love the braids, the wrap with the gold.
42:00I just love it.
42:02Queens, we have made our decision.
42:08I can't believe I won another design challenge and I'm finally going to the top four.
42:22Oh my God, I can't believe it.
42:24And girl, I'm the designer of the season, clearly.
42:27You have claimed the second spot in the season six grand finale.
42:32Girl, clocked it.
42:33Ah!
42:34Now get the fuck off stage.
42:36Girl, don't tell me twice.
42:38Stay left.
42:39Stay left.
42:40Three queens and two spots remain.
42:43It's time for your next test.
42:45And it do take nerve.
42:48One at a time.
42:49Each of you will take center stage and deliver a dramatic monologue.
42:54For your life.
42:57Who has the nerve to deliver under pressure?
43:03The queen who owns the moment will earn their spot in the top four.
43:08Leaving two of you on the edge of elimination.
43:11No pressure, darlings.
43:13You may all leave the stage.
43:17Girl, I love this dress.
43:29The vibe in Untucked is a little weird.
43:31We have PM and Van who have earned their spot in the top four.
43:35And we have three people who are desperate and exhausted trying to get their spot in the top four.
43:42How are you feeling?
43:43Honestly, really good.
43:44Like, I really love this dress.
43:46I think it's so good.
43:48And I like, I totally understand the critiques.
43:50Even when I was doing it, I was like, I don't think this is the challenge.
43:53But I ended up with this great dress, lovely gowns, lovely gowns.
43:57It's very Sammy.
43:58It's very me.
43:59I feel like I really did the best that I could do.
44:02And I know that in this challenge, it's all about keep knocking on the doors.
44:07Cause at one point, one of them will open.
44:09I'm really happy about like the critiques and how they saw the look.
44:12And I feel like the look represented something a little different for me.
44:15But I understand that I didn't complete the assignment.
44:18But I feel like the next challenge is something that's up my alley.
44:21I'm happy that it's more of a dramatic side opposed to comedy.
44:25I grew up doing acting.
44:26I wanted to be an actor before I was a dancer and I trained for that.
44:29I feel like it's really like, that's what I do.
44:31And that's who I am.
44:32I feel good about going into this challenge.
44:34I audition all the time doing monologues.
44:37But again, now there's only three of us.
44:39The stakes are even higher.
44:40So it's like, you have to fight hard.
44:42This is not the time to falter.
44:44If any moment ever that you needed to be at your A game, it's right fucking now.
44:49I need to win this round because the chances are getting slimmer and slimmer.
44:53And you can literally see that top four spot slipping away.
44:58I've never felt more confident about a challenge coming up than right now.
45:02Or for real, for real.
45:03Like, I need to be in that top four.
45:06This is mine to win.
45:09I do not want to go into that last round.
45:12I know that Karamuk has acting experience as well as me.
45:15But Ebony's a wild card.
45:17I'm just gonna tap into that vulnerable side and show the judges.
45:22I think they've seen a lot of me and they know who I am.
45:25And they know my fun and they know my light and they know my bright.
45:28And I just want them to see, like, all of the pain and the challenge that I've had to work and go through as a fucking black trans woman to get here and fight so hard.
45:46And I'm gonna show them.
45:47I got a lot of feelings right now.
45:49I got a lot of frustration, anger, hurt, sadness and pain that is bottling up.
45:58And it needs to come out.
45:59And what better way to do that than this damn monologue.
46:02I love you, but I'm gonna really step into my competitive bag and just fucking crush it.
46:10That's what I gotta do.
46:11I'm, like, motivated right now.
46:13The engine is heating up.
46:15It's, like, the calm right before the storm.
46:18I got a mission that needs to be accomplished.
46:21As we're about to get ready to just battle it out to claim our own spots, I just want to say, like, fucking bring nerve.
46:30Mm-hmm.
46:31Let's bring some fucking nerve to this.
46:34Places, everyone.
46:36Curtains up.
46:38I know the material.
46:40This is what I do.
46:41This is my bread and butter.
46:43This monologue, I feel, really speaks to me.
46:45So I'm honestly treating it as every line, every paragraph.
46:51There's a story being told to the judges.
46:53For this dramatic monologue, I'm going into it really, really different.
46:57I'm taking all of everything I know and I'm throwing it away because I need it to be real and authentic.
47:05And I need it to be from my heart.
47:08Above everything, right now, I want the judges to see the person behind the clown.
47:16I am stripped bare and I'm not moving.
47:20This is vulnerability at its greatest.
47:28Everything changed the day I got the call.
47:30It's the call that every drag artist dreams of.
47:35It's the call every drag artist dreams of.
47:38The one that makes it all worth it.
47:43The one that makes it all worth it.
47:46Begging for stage time.
47:49Gigs that no one wanted to take.
47:51I took.
47:52Gigs that no one else wanted to take.
47:55I took.
47:57I took.
47:58All for another chance to get on that tiny stage.
48:01Dancing for tips.
48:03Dancing for tips.
48:05Dancing for tips.
48:07They don't see that.
48:10They think it's all fun and games.
48:14They think it's all fun and games.
48:18Fuck that.
48:19This is work.
48:23Real work.
48:24Real work.
48:25Hard work.
48:27Real work.
48:29Hard work.
48:30Hard work.
48:31It hurts.
48:32And it hurts.
48:35Drag hurts.
48:39My body.
48:40It aches.
48:41And it groans.
48:42And it cracks.
48:43And it aches again.
48:45It cracks.
48:46And it groans.
48:47And it aches again.
48:48And it's.
48:49It's.
48:50Worth it.
48:52It's.
48:53It's worth it.
48:56For those moments of magic on stage.
49:00Every ripped pair of tights.
49:03Every nasty comment online.
49:05Every nasty comment online.
49:08Every goddamn drunk.
49:09At the goddamn bar.
49:10I don't care.
49:11I don't care.
49:12I'm a fighter.
49:14I fought to get here.
49:16I fought to get here.
49:18To stay here.
49:20And I fought to get here.
49:21And I fought to get here.
49:22To stay here.
49:23And now I'm waiting for this moment.
49:26My job is not done.
49:29My job is not done.
49:32It all comes down to this.
49:36It all comes down to you.
49:41To see me.
49:43I have to say.
49:59Bravo.
50:00Bravo.
50:01To all three of you.
50:03You all did such a beautiful job.
50:06Caramel.
50:07I loved the stillness and the rawness in yours.
50:10I loved how you stripped everything away.
50:12And you just stood and delivered.
50:14I thought it was really, really powerful and beautiful.
50:17When you can just stand and deliver.
50:20It reached me.
50:21And I cried.
50:22It brought tears for me.
50:24For the first time I really thought about how drag is not just art.
50:28You're also athletes.
50:30And when you talked about the pain.
50:32What it does to your body.
50:33The wear and the tear.
50:34I felt that.
50:36It was extraordinary.
50:39Sammy Landry.
50:40I loved the emotional journey that you took us on.
50:44You gave us a different side of you tonight.
50:46It is so amazing to see this soft, almost gentle, vulnerable side of you.
50:54Still gave us a little something.
50:56And I loved that.
50:57I love that we still saw the Sammy that we know.
51:01Evan and LaBelle.
51:03There was so much heart in this delivery.
51:07Yours was so real and so raw.
51:09It didn't feel like a monologue.
51:11It felt like someone actually speaking these words for real.
51:14You did something when you first walked out.
51:17You chose to peer out for just a moment before you reached your mark up here.
51:23From that moment that you made eye contact, I was locked in.
51:27I believed you instantly from the way you walked out from where you chose to look.
51:32The way it felt like you were discovering the words that you didn't know what you were going to say next.
51:37When you turned to us and said, it all comes down to you, I felt it.
51:42And it was just those little things that can really make a difference.
51:48Queens, we have made our decision.
51:53Ebony LaBelle.
51:55You've got some nerve.
51:58And it's taking you straight to the finale.
52:01Oh my God.
52:02I am so frickin' happy, y'all.
52:06Oh my God.
52:07That monologue, it's like I needed to say it.
52:09PM, Van Gogh, Ebony LaBelle, Goodragulations.
52:15As the first three finalists, you are the winners of this week's Maxi Challenge.
52:21You have each won $2,500 courtesy of The Well, restaurants, and bars.
52:28What the fuck?
52:30Yay money!
52:32Caramel, Sammy Landry.
52:34For you, it will all come down to talent.
52:37Let's do this, bitch.
52:38Got you.
52:39This is the most important lip sync I'm going to do in this competition because it is the way, the alleyway into the top four.
52:49I want that top four spot. I need to be there.
52:52I know now that I'm going to have to lip sync for my life against one of the lip sync assassins of the season.
53:00I need to show the judges I'm still Sammy, and this is my moment to have fun and to fight.
53:06In the final showdown, you must slay to win in a lip sync for your life.
53:13Two queens, one last shot.
53:17Everything is on the line.
53:19So step up and show us why you deserve to make it to the finale.
53:26Two queens stand before us.
53:31Prior to tonight, you were asked to prepare a lip sync performance of Fix You by Vita Chambers.
53:37This is your last chance to impress us and save yourself from elimination.
53:44The time has come for you to lip sync for the finale.
53:52Good luck, and don't fuck it up.
53:59And if we go right now, we can leave this town we break.
54:07And if we go right now, we can leave this town escape.
54:11Don't know how it's gonna end, how far you gonna bend, I'm never gonna walk away.
54:22God, I wish you'd let me in, I'll forgive the noise and stop pushing while you're pushing away.
54:30I can't stop how I'm feeling, it's like I need you.
54:37And if you let me, I can fix you.
54:45I can't stop how I'm feeling, it's like I need you.
54:53And if you let me, I can fix you.
55:07And if we go right now, we can leave this town we break.
