00:17days back scoda has introduced the all-new facelifted kushak in the indian market and
00:22with that scoda has introduced the aq 300 8-speed talk converter automatic transmission also now
00:29this transmission will be replacing the aq 250 that is the six-speed talk converter unit and with
00:34the new transmission expected to change the way the one liter tsi engine actually drives yes you
00:39heard me right this will be available with a one liter tsi engine and let's take a look at what
00:44makes this gearbox a little special and some of the key highlights that it has to offer now first of
00:50all is the lower cost now this eight-speed transmission is more cost efficient than the
00:54previous six-speed talk converter automatic despite being an advanced gearbox it aligns well with
00:59scoda's supply chain strategy at a more affordable cost now due to the cost efficiency it could be
01:05used across multiple models in the scoda vw lineup that also includes the slavia kylak tycoon and the
01:11vertice as well now let's talk about the maintenance of this gearbox with additional gear ratios the
01:16engine operates at lower stress levels resulting in smooth performance gear shift and potentially
01:20lower co2 emissions as well the internal components are subjected to less strain which is expected to
01:26improve the long-term reliability of this gearbox so maintenance is relatively low on this gearbox
01:32the transmission is over engineered for this one liter tsi engine so the maintenance required for it will
01:37be lower as well and that is why scoda has opted this unit over the earlier six-speed automatic
01:43transmission now let's talk about the fuel efficiency with this gearbox the increased number of gear helps
01:48the overall fuel efficiency now this transmission is tuned well especially for engine driving conditions
01:53and expected to deliver higher fuel efficiency both in the city and in the highway driving as well
01:59it is also claimed to operate more quietly at higher speeds compared to the outgoing six-speed
02:04torque converter so you will have a little less noise from the gearbox coming in within the cabin
02:08and this eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is actually the first in the segment offering
02:13for an engine of this class which is the one liter tsi engine it is expected to perform better in urban
02:19driving conditions than the seven-speed dsg that is paired to a 1.5 liter tsi engine and at the same
02:25time it will deliver smooth acceleration and a natural driving feel that the other cvt equipped rivals
02:30offer in the other segments now if you talk about the powertrain scoda is offering two powertrains with
02:35this kushak facelift you have the one liter tsi engine that produces 115 ps of power and 178 nm of peak
02:41torque and this thing comes mated to either a six-speed manual or this all-new eight-speed torque
02:46converter automatic gearbox and if you want the more powerful variant well there is the 1.5 liter
02:52tsi engine that is a more potent engine and produces 150 ps and 250 nm of peak torque with a
02:58seven-speed dsg gearbox now with the introduction of the aq300 the eight-speed torque converter scoda has
