Kangse X is the title of Korean artist Koo Jeong A's current solo exhibition at Hauser & Wirth's Limmatstrasse space in Zürich, Switzerland. The show features sculptures, phosphorescent paintings, and drawings. Drawing from the Korean concept of "Kangse" (spatial strength), the show builds on her recent Korean Pavilion presentation at the 2024 Venice Biennale and her animation Mysteriousss (2017). It runs alongside her solo show Land of Ousss [Gravitta] at Kunsthaus Bregenz (31.1.-25.5.2026), continuing her deep exploration of space, perception, and invisible forces. Highlights include new bronze sculptures of the playful, embryonic Kangse figure, balancing impossibly on one toe and using speculative hand gestures inspired by mathematics like Diophantine equations and Fermat’s Last Theorem. Other standout works: Density X (2025), a levitating ice cube suspended in a magnetic field; Lava X (2025), which releases immersive scents; and the Seven Stars series—minimalist by day, but glowing with phosphorescent green stars at night.
