00:00My name is Borislav Schitzke, I am co-founder of the gallery Elektrohalle Raumberg in Salzburg.
00:15We founded it four years ago, in the middle of Corona, and this is our very first Art Cologne.
00:22We are also represented here on the sector Neumarkt
00:26and we are showing a single presentation with this monumental work by the South Korean artist Arang Choi.
00:33She is 32 years old, studied in Vienna and Düsseldorf, but now lives in Vienna again.
00:39This is a dream world that she created, a very surrealistic dream world.
00:45In this, amorphous beings move, which she calls emulb, i.e. flowers spoken backwards.
00:52And this being, always in different shapes, moves in this key work.
00:58And on this work, all her other paintings come to life.
01:04So this was also her diploma work and with this picture you can explain her world quite well.
01:12She is very inspired by nature and the animal world.
01:18Therefore, this emulb, this mouthless being,
01:23that actually only conveys the emotions she tries to convey through the representation of the eyes.
01:30We have decided to show this key piece, this key work of the artist,
01:36because it is of course also a strong statement and should represent it as best as possible.
01:43And what about the gallery?
01:46Exactly, the gallery, the name comes from the original purpose.
01:51It was a huge hall with 900 square meters of exhibition space.
01:55In the past, there were actually cables for the train.
02:00So the name comes from the original purpose of the hall.
02:05And we have a program focused on young painters, mostly.
02:11Exactly, from our generation, most of them live in Austria, but also in Germany.
02:17And this is actually our sixth exhibition this year.
02:21We are also doing an exhibition in Vienna, the Paper Positions, in two weeks already.
02:27Yes, that's a lot, that's a lot.
02:34Salzburg as a gallery location, how is that?
02:39Salzburg is actually a very exciting location.
02:42Of course, due to the presence of Thaddeus Roppert, the Salzburg festival player,
02:47there is a lot going on in the cultural area.
02:51And it is also very interesting from the location, close to Munich, but also in the center of Austria.
02:56Especially the summer is very strong, because the whole cultural thing takes place in Salzburg.
